Came here in October of 2024, had visitors from out of town and took them here for a typical Maine treat of dining with an ocean view. With a view this beautiful, a setting this cozy, and food that is honestly pretty good, you almost have to go out of your way to deliver a bad experience. But they figured out how. I've gotten better service from a self-checkout kiosk at Target. Our reservation was at 6:45. We arrived at 6:40 and were seated at 6:50. Totally normal. Good start. Then we sat there for 20 minutes without so much as a "we'll be right with you." At 7:10, my wife finally had to ask the hostess if someone could bring us water. At 7:15, the hostess brought water, and we ended up ordering our drinks and our meal directly from her. At 7:30, our waitress came to the table for the first time--only to drop off the appetizers. Still no drinks. For context, there were maybe three people sitting at the bar, and we had ordered a glass of wine and a beer. No cocktails. No mixing. Just a wine and a beer. After we asked again, the waitress finally found our drinks. That was also the last time she came by our table. At 7:45, our food was delivered by a gentleman I had seen driving a golf cart around about five minutes earlier. Maybe he was the property manager, maybe the restaurant manager--I have no idea. Either way, he dropped off the food without any apology or acknowledgment, and that was the last we saw of him too. By 8:10, we had long finished our meal. I took my daughter over to the pool table just to keep her entertained while my wife waited for the check. At 8:20, my wife finally stood up to leave, which apparently was what it took to get the waitress's attention and get our bill. No apology. No explanation. No attempt to make it right. Just absolutely brutal service. The sad part is, the place has everything going for it: the view, the vibe, and the food. But the service was so bad it completely ruined the experience. read more

We've been searching for lobster stew. Not bisque not chowder but stew. We came to Ocean point because they have lobster stew on the menu.. and it has a fabulous view. It's a little bit of a hike from Boothbay Harbor about 15 minutes, but the scenery is gorgeous. We got a table overlooking the water. We ordered lobster stew, and a Caesar salad salad. The Caesar salad was good, nothing really earth shattering about it however the lobster soup which they call a stew but it's not really a stew was divine. Very creamy and rich but not cloyingly so. It is not a very big restaurant and we were here for lunch. read more

We stayed at Ocean Point and ate both breakfast and dinner here. I was surprised at how good the food was. I wasn't as impressed with the resort and friends said to give restaurant a try. Wow. It was some of my favorite meals. We had to make reservations for dinner which seemed odd until we came for our dinner and all tables were filled. I had the crab an fish cake sandwich and fry. The sandwich loaded with crab was amazing. Fries crisp and tasty. The rest of the table was pleased as well. One morning me and my friend picked up breakfast sandwiches and sat outside in the chairs overlooking the water. Great food. A must try. read more

Dropped by Ocean Point Kitchen after an evening boating outing and just wanted some simple soup and salad and fish and chips. The service was good overall, some have commented on how it's quite slow but we did not experience that. Location is great, terrific views of the water and sunset. - lobster stew - 4/5, for $36 was really a lobster bisque and had four bite sized pieces of lobster in it so very expensive for not a lotta lobster - caesar salad - 3/5, half heads of romaine grilled with too much dressing on it - a bit bitter (perhaps from the grilling) and then a little wilty (from too much dressing?), the parmesan crisped sliced of bread were good, those were on the side - fish & chips - 5/5, a huge portion of battered fish pieces and fries, I don't always like the batter but in this case it was crisp and not too greasy and super plentiful portion - blueberry crumble - 3/5, this was a disappointment, not really a crumble and not very tasty blueberries (see review for 727's blueberry crumble which is fantastic) I'd go back again since we typically stay in OP - and it's an easy walk to the restaurant, but stick with the fish & chips and maybe try a different salad and keep it simple. read more

Go for the views, stay for the food. This is a classic legacy Maine restaurant with amazing views from a very old building. The food and drinks were very good. The menu is classic American, as you would expect from this classic place. The service was highly dependent upon the server. We saw some servers who were professional and efficient. Our was more interested in having conversations with the bartender and other guests, but we were not in a hurry so it was not a problem. read more

Very cute place, both inside and out. Charming decor, with beautiful sunset over the ocean right out the window. Extremes friendly service, and good food. Only reason for docking one star is price seemed a bit high. We had 2 salads, 2 sandwiches, one glass of wine and one blueberry dessert. Price was about $100 before tax/tip. Felt a bit much to me, but maybe that's normal pricing these days? Still nice enough that I'd def return, but probably for special occasion only. read more

Went for dinner with party of five . Service was great and the views from the restaurant are breathtakingly . The guys really loved their fried chicken sandwiches. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is the lobster roll was a joke . $40. Hardly any lobster served with a very small side salad. Get something else if you go here . read more

Best meal in Maine! Far better than Bar Harbor. We had seafood stew, salmon and house salad. Finished with blueberry cobbler and ice cream. All were outstanding!! House our server was outstanding too. Sunset view was the best . Most highly recommended!! read more

Whatever you think of the food and service, there's no denying the great scenic views from both inside and out. Menu is varied and somewhat upscale but has a burger and a lobster roll to keep things casual too. That lobster roll wasn't gigantic, but fresh, tasty, and served on a roll whose makeup straddled potato and brioche. For a place of this type, impressive. Slaw on the side was unfortunately flavorless. Appetizer mussels plentiful but tiny, in a bland, watery broth. Nice vegetable sides of charred broccoli and crispy fingerlings. Pleasant service. Overall, nothing to get crazy excited about, but with that view and above average food (and not many stellar options in Boothbay Harbor), gotta give them the 4. read more

Dinner was slightly thrown off by a manager laying into a server who had stopped at another table for too long. Managers need training on respecting their employees and using tact. ordered Caprese salad with lobster. was inedible. salad drowned in balsamic dressing with small mozzarella balls and what was billed as fresh heirloom tomatoes on the plate, overpowered by the ridiculous amount of balsamic. the three small pieces of lobster were chewy and not fresh. the two slices of bread were dry and stale. the server was lovely and was going to comp me the cost but the manager had disappeared and could not. we were the only 2 people there for lunch. now I know why. don't waste your money at this place read more

We came here for the view. It turns that the food here are also incredibly delicious! The fish and chip dish is the best fish and chip I ever had. Fish tacos are also very nice. Size of food is large, we do not have more space for other food. The chef definitely know how to deal with cod! Super good nature view. The inside is also decent. Friendly nice service! read more

Dinner last evening was grand! Food was excellent. We had a lobster roll and fish and chips. The blueberry cobbler for dessert is not to be missed. You are only steps from the ocean. This was one of the best meals we had during a week exploring the coastal towns of Maine. Leaving Boothbay Harbor, we drove the scenic road which circles Ocean Point Harbor and stopped for lunch at this picturesque restaurant in a quaint seaside inn. It is an absolutely elegant setting with an amazing view and excellent service, but the food was the real star. We savored a top-notch clam chowder full of tender clams, a delicious lobster roll and the most unique fish and chips I've ever had. Big chunks of haddock were encased in an amazing batter that was pillowy on the inside and featured a delicate crust on the exterior. I can't recommend it highly enough! read more

Fpur of us had dinner here; each entree was beautifully presented, ample, and exceptional! Our selections included the scallops, salmon, fish tacos and lobster roll. While somewhat traditional, the tacos and lobster rolls were tweaked with typical OPK creativity. The scallops were exceptionally well -treated with sardo, pea puree, and snap peas. my husband particularly enjoyed the crisply prepared salmonwith bammy! do yourself a favor, and venture out of the ordinary at OPK! friends reported delight with the tuna entree, as well! read more

H. and I had dinner at OPK on a Tuesday night in early October 2023. We expected it to be quiet and slow, as it is end of season. We were wrong, in a good way. First impressions matter, and the friendly professional hostess noted we were there early for our reservation and encouraged us to enjoy a cocktail at the bar, which we did. The bar area was lively and buzzing, and a live music group was setting up. Good craft beer selection; friendly bartender. We were seated promptly and they accommodated my request to change designated table. Off to a great start. Live music can be either a plus or minus (lots of variables) at a restaurant, but the duo this night was fantastic and enhanced the atmosphere. Waiter seemed overworked but was prompt and professional and did not detract from the evening. Food was good to very good. My scallops dish was tasty. The scallops were fresh and cooked nicely, and the baby spinach was properly wilted (it wilts fast, so the kitchen needs to be on their toes). I enjoyed it. H.'s grains/polenta/succotash/tomato sauce was excellent. The whole was greater than the sum of the parts: the heirloom tomato sauce had wonderful flavor, and a bite of all the ingredients together tasted wonderful. A welcome non-seafood dish in Maine to which the chef really paid attention to the flavors. Bravo OPK. We will be back. read more
