Absolutely loved staying here. The owner/manager is so friendly and helpful- she gave us a list of the local spots and told us where to get the good drinks and food that wouldn't be too crowded. Our room was cute and clean- and every room has a balcony and water view. It was beautiful. Their restaurant is closed for the season but they offer a breakfast buffet each morning! I got some delicious muffins and a ton of hard boiled eggs. Mmmm. Only downside was the lack of toothpaste (I think I'm just a moron for assuming places will have it), and the bathroom was teeny tiny. But it was just what we needed for a quick trip to Boothbay! A quick walk to the footbridge (under half a mile) and then you're across the way to the touristy spots. Easy walk, beautiful place! Recommend!

The front desk staff is helpful and friendly. Our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking the inner harbor. The room was just right, nice and clean and comfortable. The AC was awesome and quiet. There is a balcony for every room. My only critique is that there are no privacy screens between balconies. When our neighbors were out on theirs they could see right into our room and im sure visa versa. Unfortunately their restaurant was not open this season. They did have a very nice continental breakfast every morning starting at 7am. Freshly baked muffins, hot hard boild eggs, various cerials, yogurts, juice and delicious coffee. We loved that everything was a short walk away. There is the 1901 foot bridge just down the street, that takes you over the water to all the tourist spots, and the whale watch boats. We did a whale watch and it was exacly a 17 min walk, taking our time. So no worries about paid parking. We will be back next year. Hope the resturant will be open by then.

This is a gorgeous place to stay. Rooms overlook the beautiful harbor of Booth Bay and the quaint town of Booth Bay Harbor with the church as the beacon from every location in this lovely town. The staff is wonderful and the rooms are extremely clean(Sandy is so personable and very quick to clean the rooms spotless). Having been here 40+ years ago, the town of Booth Bay Harbor has stay much the same as we remembered. We've fallen in love with Booth Bay Harbor again.

The lobster sauté with a twice baked potato

Had a delicious meal here with my husband and in-laws. We got the calamari as an appetizer which was perfectly fried. I ordered the lobster sauté as my meal, as I was feeling especially lazy and didn't feel like putting in the effort to an actual lobster diner. The service was quick, and the meal was delicious. I stood by my decision to order the sauté as my husband slaved over cracking his lobster open, staring enviously at me as I savored delectable bites of lobstah sans effort. Out in-laws stay at the hotel every year and said it was lovely as well. Definitely putting this place on the bucket list- Boothbay Harbor was a quintessential New England fishing village, and Brown's Wharf was the perfect place to sit down for a meal and take in the views. Wouldn't classify this place as hip or modern- just a good old fashioned five star New England experience all around!

Brown's Wharf RESTAURANT was very good. Great view of the harbor while dining. Waitress was very friendly & the food was great. I had the lobster saute' and it was very good. They added sherry to the butter and it was very flavorful! My husband had the seafood trio and he enjoyed it very much too! We will come back the next time we are in the area.

My husband and I spent two nights here and loved everything about it. The service was excellent at the front desk and in the restaurant, the room was spotlessly clean, with up to date decor and linens. Every room has a balcony with a view, and ours overlooked the inner harbor. The Inn is run by the fourth generation of the Brown family. There is a free open air trolley that stops at the Inn every half hour, and takes you to the touristy/shopping area all day from 10 to 5. If you'd rather walk, the famous Boothbay footbridge is about 4/10 mile from the Inn. We highly recommend Brown's Wharf Inn, and would love to stay there again some day!

Great food, Great views, Great service! Thank you Jeanne Tonon for your great service..

    Wonderful fireplace at Brown's Wharf

What a great night. We're staying at Brown's Wharf and were doubtful about the restaurant. We've stayed at this motel for 50 years and the decor hasn't changed which is part of it's charm. The restaurant has never been a top choice. However, we were incredibly surprised. First, the food was wonderful. We had the lobster, scalloped potatoes, and fresh broccoli. I also had the French Onion Soup which was home made with garden thyme. It was not greasy or overly breaded like so many lazy, old restaurants serve. Second, the fireplace was magical. It was like what you would imagine an old Maine lodge would feel. It crackled and popped and warmed the entire room. So even though the motel has a hip 60's decor, the food has kept pace with a 2015 palette.

Booth Decay FKA "The…read moreBoothbay Region Lobstermen's Co-Op," is an actual working Lobster Dock that also happens to have a fast-casual restaurant and bar. We arrived after a day at the nearby Botanical Garden and were ready for our first Lobstah Roll back in Maine. The Good: *Happy Hour daily 3 - 5 p.m. *Clam Chowder was fine, but I thought it should be thicker for my liking. Carissa thought it was fine fwiw. *Fairly large parking lot that could get filled during busier times of the year, but parking was plentiful upon our visit. *Full bar with everything from spirits to local micro and macro brews on tap. *Amazing views from their dog-friendly outdoor dining. They also have some indoor dining upstairs during inclement weather. The Meh: *Service wasn't friendly at all from the order or pickup booth. In fact, I'd say it was downright sassy-- and not in a good way. When we asked for our lobster buttered and not dressed (i.e., mayo) we got a giant eyeroll from the maître d'. Why she cares is beyond me, since she's not doing much beyond taking orders. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ *The bartender was slightly better service-wise, but she tends to disappear and you have to wait around for her to re-appear. *Fries were whatever, but at least they were cheap. *The Lobster was overcooked and chewy, which is disappointing. However, we will say they were very generous with the Lobster itself, as we both got fairly large pieces of claws. Pro Tip: If two people want a regular Lobster roll, you're better off ordering the large and splitting it. I'm pretty sure the large was at least double the meat of the regular, and it was only $10 more. *The roll they use for the roll didn't really hold up to the moisture, as it was fairly soggy by the time it reached our table. The Ugly: *They really have the gall to charge $2 for a tablespoon of melted butter. As if paying $40-50 for a sandwich isn't enough... 0_o Conclusion: Below avg lobstah roll with great views but grumpy Gus service. Hard pass.

**November 2025: Friday Early Afternoon Visit**…read more My friend and I were wandering Wiscasset and were in need of a restroom. We couldn't find one and decided to dine in to use their facilities. I think we were among the first diners and realized that the restaurant was really nice and had such a wonderful view of the water. Our server was incredibly kind and hospitality. She informed us that the soup of the day was clam chowda to which both of us wanted right away. The chowda was flavorful and had a good amount of clams (many other restaurants choose to load it with potatoes, but not this one!). The soup does lean more brothy versus gravy-like which is a personal preference but taste wise it was still soothing. The menu had a lot of really great seafood options so I decided to try their Maine mussels. Our waitress said that the broth was really wonderful and would pair nicely with garlic bread which I also ordered. The entrees came out pretty quickly and the serving size of my mussels was double what I thought it would be. The mussels looked massive and the meat was as fresh mussels should taste. It was an excellent dish. The garlic bread would be a great vessel to soak up the mussel broth, but I felt that the bread was a little thin and slightly over-toasted to really soak up the broth. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the overall experience and it does feel like a local spot.

We already have some excellent local Asian restaurants but we don't have too many places, serving upscale bistro and pub food in an attractive setting. As this was our first time here, our server, Joshua, Was especially helpful and attentive in beverage and menu selections. And he did a really nice job of trying that all of the dishes came out at the right time in the right order, which isn't done often enough. Joshua highly recommended the falafel and I join him in that recommendation. The switch to lentils is the base made an exceptionally light but tasty version of a wonderful favorite. The mug, fish and cabbage dish was delicious, though maybe a bit larger certain of lentils, maybe with a bit more spice, would've made this dish even better . The risotto with crab was delicious, but the crab was lost in the dish, so it probably would be better as a crabcake or as a amount of crab meat on top of the risotto. And normally addition to risotto are made at the very end anyway, so this makes sense to get the most out of the crab. We had several glasses of wine, with generous pours; the Sancerre was exceptionally good and paired well with everyone's dishes. There are some excellent local beers on top as well for those who want beer rather than wine. One of our group had some of the oysters and said that they were extremely fresh and delicious - they were local from Brunswick (Mere Point). The desserts and after dinner drinks looked good, but we were full enough that we'll wait until another visit to do that.

The menu is pretty small and the dishes are not fancy, but this is more than made up for by the bold, fresh flavors, less-common ingredients, artful presentation, and generous portions. And equally importantly, creativity. Take the parmigiana, for example. Rather than boring, dry chicken breast theirs are made with boneless thighs, a much more interesting choice. In the carbonara, where you might expect bacon, something better: guanciale. Decorative herbs? Not the common parsley sprigs, instead beautiful purple micro-basil. The pastas: every one is made fresh in house, not dried. Excellent service as well. My waiter, Lucas, could not have been better, in every way. As for the bartender, Russell, the specialty cocktails are his own creations, with whimsical names, ingredients many of which I've never heard of, and the two I tried were fantastic. And he seemed genuinely pleased when I complimented him on this as I was leaving. The only service flaw - minor - was a delay in getting my first drink, which arrived after my appetizer. Appetizer was Arancini. Crunchy coating, and inside a risotto-style rice, al dente, along with asparagus, guanciale, and two cheeses for added interest. A beautiful presentation, artfully drizzled with lemon aioli (the lemon too subtle) and purple micro-basil. Two large pieces, and because I was dining solo I took one home for breakfast - along with half the generously-sized dessert cake. My cocktails: Eve's Temptation: Caraway-thyme infused vodka, Oloroso sherry, Dolin dry vermouth, apple, lemon. Hattan Bow Tie: Basil Hayden bourbon, Cocchi Barolo Chinato, Pernod Absinthe Superiore, flamed orange. Wish I could have tried every one! There's also a very interesting-sounding wine list including a red sparking Lambrusco dessert wine, served chilled, that I wanted to try but didn't. Lucas recommended the special pasta of the day, a simple dish of house-made spaghetti, romano, Calabrian chilis, garlic (lots and lots of it!), parsley, and bread crumbs. I don't normally go for pasta entrees, especially simple ones like this, but in this case it sounded interesting and I trusted his recommendation - after adding the optional grilled shrimp and guanciale. These additions raised the price considerably, but it was so worth it. The fresh pasta was perfectly cooked and the cheeses and bread crumbs added body without making it too heavy. The shrimps were very large, not overcooked, fresh, and loaded with more garlic flavor. The tails were not removed, which always slightly annoys me. The guanciale added smokiness and textural interest. More purple micro-basil for garnish. Pretty to be sure but disappointing to see it again; they used that on the arancini. As for the heat: it was more than mild from the chilis but by no means hot. The most assertive flavor was the garlic, much of it raw. Maybe a bit excessive but I'd rather have too much than too little. A good-sized portion but not huge, just the right amount to feel satisfied but not stuffed. And I left room for dessert! Dessert options were limited, even more so than the entrees. I decided on the pistachio olive oil cake. My take is it's like a pound cake but made with olive oil instead of butter. Olive oil was also drizzled on the plate and over the whipped cream; interesting. Lots of pistachio flavor, in the cake itself and also in the candied pistachios mixed in and sprinkled over the whipped cream which was flavored and firm. I ate one of the two slices and that was enough, taking the rest home. When I opened the box the next day I saw that they had even packed the leftover whipped cream in a small container, and it was still firm, not runny. Impressive. Disappointingly, there are no ice cream or gelato offerings for dessert. Lucas agreed with me that it seems a strange omission for an Italian restaurant. The room is comfortable and attractive, natural wood, old-fashioned cabinets, cork and burlap dominant in the decor. Plant prints, mosaics made from wine corks, an antique dresser in the men's room. The bar, dominant in the room (no TVs - yeah!), is apparently the place to meet and greet in Brunswick. I lost count of the number of hugs exchanged between the many people coming and going over the 90 minutes I was there. No hugs for me but I enjoyed watching the activity.
