What' a fabulous location and delightful atmosphere. The restaurant has amazing views down the harbor both inside and outside on the deck. I had the opportunity to meet the owner and enjoy some of his personal recommendations on the menu. Over 3 meals there, we tried the fresh lobster, clam chowder and sushi. Everything was exceptional, including the service from our wait staff and bartenders. They also feature an extensive live music schedule for the summer and great local brew selection. Mine Oyster is a huge restaurant that caters to the locals on off hours. Take a minute as your are walking into see the oysters as your are walking in. They have one of the largest oyster selections in Boothbay. Thai clam chowder is chunky and top notch. I love the variety of oysters that they usually have on hand. They have an outdoor deck that has a good view. Service is usually a bit slow so if you are in a hurry just sit at the bar. The locals come here on off hours and there is usually music or karaoke later in the evenings. Good spot. read more

We went last Sunday and sat at the bar. Bartender was good. We shared the fish tacos and they were also good. We were shocked when a family came in with 3 small kids and they sat right at the bar next to us. Why is that allowed. There were plenty of available tables. The kids were very disruptive. read more

This could have been so much better, but we did not have the best service/server. The location is nice, right on the harbor with a big outdoor deck. The interior looks a bit old and run down. We had lunch here with friends and everything started out OK with ordering, but things went down hill. First, cocktails were weak and not very good. I had a margarita which tasted like straight up mix from a bottle, little or no tequila. Essentially not drinkable. Our friends ordered a bowl of chilli and a shrimp entree, while we ordered a couple of sushi rolls. Our friends food was delivered promptly, but our sushi was not served for another solid 10+ minutes. Server never came, so eventually I went in to find her after 10 minutes went by without food. She was nowhere to be found, so I mentioned this to another waiter, who looked confused, and said he would let her know. A few minutes later she came and said that sushi takes long to prepare. No apology, and by that time our friends were just about done with their lunch, when our rolls came out. All in all, the food was not pretty good, but the experience was poor. There was no excuse as the restaurant wasn't even that busy. I can't say we can recommend this restaurant, or that we would return. read more

I came here with my family for a chill dinner and it was perfect. We sat on their patio (which I recommend) and the views are gorgeous at sunset. The most memorable dishes were the shrimp, sausage, and fennel appetizer as well as the seafood platter. The app comes served in a fresh butter sauce full of spices as well as perfectly grilled bread (wish there was more baguette bread to dip in the yummy sauce). My mom and I split the seafood platter which was perfect for us as it comes with potato's and veggies. You have the option to get it fried, grilled, broiled, or blackened. We got it grilled but wished we got it blackened. I had never had a cooked oyster before and it was sooooo delicious. Mine Oyster is a great casual place for family dinners as they have an enormous menu with so many options. They also have a lengthy wine and drink menu. read more

Mine Oyster was recommended by a town shopkeeper describing it as local favorite. Our visit was for lunch during an off season. As a first time visitor to Boothbay Harbor we tried fresh oysters, blackened haddock and rock crab. Plus award winning chili. They all did not disappoint. We had dinner here on our last evening in Boothbay, 6/11/26. This was our 1st trip to Maine & stayed 6 nights in E. Boothbay. There are so many spots to enjoy great seafood, most offering basically the same items. Having had lobster almost every night, I wanted a change of pace and got a pesto pizza with blackened shrimp. While the pizza was delicious, $12 was a lot for the small amount of shrimp they added. My husband had a very salty gumbo dish, which had Jonah crab pieces, but there was no shell-cracker. When he did get to the meat there was very little. We each also tried a fresh oyster, both were delicious. Our server was friendly, as was other waitstaff that we encountered. We sat outside and enjoyed the view. All in all, I would try it again. read more

I have to say I ate lobster every day on vacation and this was my favorite lobster roll. The amount of lobster they put on the roll was amazing. My husband ordered the blue fin tuna and he loved it. Service was great and the view was great. We will go back there for sure ! read more

Recently we went on a trip to Maine. Mine Oyster was definitely a highlight of the trip. Delicious food and consistent quality. I had there deliciously fresh New England clam chowder. So good I had it a second time during the trip. I also had the lobster roll. I mean can we go wrong with lobster tails!! Fresh and delicious. Now my daughter and I did get the lobster Mac n cheese but I was stuffed and never tried it. She said it was meh. So maybe skip that part. Last but not least service was excellent. Very friendly and proficient. We had a two table group a total of 12 of us and they made sure each of us felt tended to and stuffed!! LOL oh and they have a live band, dance floor and karaoke night. I wasn't sure what to think walking in because we walked through the restaurant which was seemingly quite quiet at 1pm on a Sunday. The back deck had a pretty view overlooking the harbor and a few tables with people. We chose clam chowder to start and it was wonderful. Perfectly cooked clams in a creamy broth. Potatoes had skins which was different, but very good. We also got the bang bang shrimp tacos and clam plate. I don't know that I'd go out of my way for those two entrees, but they were good. Food isn't wow worthy (other than the roasted potatoes, which were a fabulous, well-seasoned offshoot of home fries), but at least decent. A little overpriced. Service isn't bad per se, but they are severely understaffed. No bartender on our visit, so the servers had to make all the drinks in addition to handling their tables. Tough to find one when you needed one. Weirdest part was when we arrived there was literally ZERO staff on the first floor. Do we wait? Is someone coming down from the upstairs deck? Do we go up? We recently visited Mine Oyster for dinner. My mother had the stuffed lobster tail, it was delicious. I had clam bellies. There were a few that weren't hot all the way through but they were very good. My sister had salmon which was great. The drinks were great. Service was okay. The band playing was good. As someone who worked in restaurants for over 35 years, I was a bit disappointed with the servers lack of checking on things, not overly friendly. Omg me and my wife flew into Portland Maine and we came to stay in Boothbay Harbor and this place is amazing and we came to eat at the mine oyster restaurant we were told bye a local residence and the place was amazing everything that we ate was amazing I had the seafood boil and my wife had the Maine Lobster bake and drinks and Rockefeller oysters every bite was mouth watering very delicious thank y'all for y'all service! We came all the way to boothbay harbor to eat lobster and oysters from Hastings Minnesota we will be back in the future this is our new spot. read more

The missus and I chose Mine Oyster last night for dinner and we were both very impressed. Our salmon and avocado sushi roll was absolutely delicious. My oysters Rockefeller rocked my evening! Our main course pizzas were very good; my garlic shrimp delicious but my wife's blackened chicken and avocado on white sauce was okay. She's not a fan of cheesy pizzas and the white sauce may have been too cheesy.Her white chocolate cheese cake was yummy. Our server David gets top marks for being both knowledgeable and very helpful. This used to be my happy place, now it's just another restaurant. The upstairs had the elevated view on three sides and I'd always sit on the deck at the corner and feel my body just relax. Unfortunately they decided to take what wasn't broken and break it, they moved everything downstairs. I'm sure this was a business decision but it was a bad one in my opinion. This went from a place that I went to 2-3 times in a weekend to a place I no longer want to go. It's sad really, my heart broke because this was THE place I looked forward to coming to every time I came here on vacation. We came to Mine Oyster for a family lunch on a cool rainy day. Of the places on the harbor this is the best we have tried so far. The food was excellent, the service was good, especially for surprise staff shortage this day, and the ambiance was warm and cozy, with more personality than the usual tourist trap. In our group, we tried the lobster panini, bluefin tuna tacos, and blackened haddock sandwich (all pictured below). All three of these entrees were excellent! Especially impressive was the tuna tacos because they really prepared the fish rare and it was delicious. Our only gripe was the unclear cash discount/penalty.They offered a rebate of $3.50 off the ATM fee but they may have charged more for credit cards or less for cash. I'm glad I didn't read the reviews before visiting Mine Oyster! The service was outstanding and the food was the best we had all weekend. We got a nice table next to the window so the view was nice. Drinks were strong and delicious! The bathroom was quite small and I made a joke to my fiancé asking if all of these harbor restaurants were trying to stick to a boat theme when it came to the size of the bathrooms (obviously I don't care, it was just funny). The bathroom was clean and well stocked. The food, however, was amazing! We went for lunch and almost came back for dinner (but decided to try a different restaurant out). It really was an excellent choice! The Lobster Stew and the Chorizo Tamales were my favorites but everything was amazing. read more

We waited an hour for our meal and only saw our waitress once; I had to get up to ask about our dinner because we thought we'd been forgotten.
