OystHERS is the kind of place I almost hesitate to write a review for, because it's so good, I want it to myself. The vibe is...outstanding. Riverfront location with fish jumping, boats coming and going, and inside/outside/porch seating; tons of parking available in the area; and interesting, funky decor. The people are friendly, helpful, and all over your seafood needs. The menu is...significant. The boards are generous; we had the 'Up North' and it worked well as a starter for four of us, more than the 2-3 promised. Then, one of us had lobster sliders (I snuck a bite and they were wicked decent with the amount of lobster meat - delicious.). The others of us got down on two dozen oysters in a flight. All were from Maine (why bother with oysters from anywhere else?!?), from Casco Bay up to Deer Isle - no Damariscotta oysters, but I'm not complaining - I get those guys all the time. They ranged from brinier to sweeter, all were really good. The drink list is similarly lengthy with some very interesting (in a good way) wines, enjoyed by two of our party; I opted for an Italian style Pilsner, Oxbow Luppolo, brewed just up the road and perfectly crisp. The mocktail list looks outstanding, and next time I'm there, which will be soon, you'll find me with a glass of vermouth, for sure. OystHERS embraces the interesting throughout their menu, and I. Am. Here for it.

Delicious fresh local oysters, lobster, crab, and shrimp. Beautiful water views, friendly service.

Fantastic little gem in the sleepy little town of Bath. The smoke show charcuterie board was great and had stuff for landlubbers to snack on and their short but very functional local beer list works perfectly. But the oysters... that's why you come here. Staff is very friendly, low pressure and knowledgeable. All in the shadow of the Carlton vertical lift bridge. What more could you want. Bring all your money.

This charming spot is perfect place to while away a few hours with friends, sip some wine and nosh on locally sourced, pristine oysters while taking in the beautiful views of the surrounding area. Patio tables outside are perfect, even in a light drizzle, for watching the river roll by. We opted for a bottle of Gruner Veltliner to go with our two dozen oysters, while our driving friend stuck with a mock-tail. They have quite a selection of mock-tails, which also pair nicely with the menu options. The oysters themselves are beautiful briny bites of deliciousness, complemented by the house made mignonette or the cocktail sauce. These oysters are so pristine, they even taste great sans accompaniment. So next time you're stuck in traffic on Route 1 near Bath, take a detour to OystHERS to refresh and rejuvenate.

Great spot to relax and take in the sunset. Fancier seating inside!

Great oyster bar with other fun selections. The list had 6-8 local oyster choices yesterday, and the staff is knowledgeable and can help you choose. Good bubbly and other selections, curated to pair with oysters. The cava was a good choice- hint of sweetness to offset the briny oysters. The absolute draw tho is the space. Small indoor seating area with tables with a view and a high top counter, airy open feel thru out. And a great outdoor deck with both picnic tables and smaller intimate two chair spots that boast fire pits! Great view over the Kennebec, nice breeze, well kept and attractive space. Easy parking right in front. They also do frequent events, including a tie dye your own shirt with the OystHers logo, and occasional live bands. Woman owned, super friendly, very professional. A must go spot in Bath.

7/9/25 A very pretty oyster bar/ seafood cafe, quiet and subdued, until an overbearing blusterer announced herself (I would guess she was local; no tourist would act this way.) I digress. The service is excellent, smooth, well-oiled. Ava did most of the shucking; of my dozen oysters, I found one small shell remnant. Two varieties: House from Georgetown (down the Kennebec from Bath) and Emily's from Freeport. Both are cultivated by the women who own and run the Cafe. Both are quite briney, Emily's more so. Neither require help from the berry/mignonette. The House is softer, creamier- both yield easily to a soft crush between tongue and palate. I could not detect any sweetness in either. They offered just those two varieties- somewhat disappointing- but I'll give them another try this summer- and next, with Ava returning then. When the oysters are so fresh, sourced from Maine, an excellent shucker separates the woman from the boys. A caveat: unless you live in Bath, rely on your GPS; otherwise this would be impossible to find. This is an hour from my home, but worth the journey.

Super cute place right on the water in Bath. Oysters, bubbly and charcuterie. Nothing is cooked so all items are cold. $5 prosecco on draft. You order at a counter and they bring your order to you. Small place with small outside eating area-dogs welcome. The oysters were outstanding. There is plenty of on street parking and a small lot. Take a walk after along the water. There is also a cute soft serve ice cream truck that is right next to the restaurant.

We stopped in for oysters, bubbly, crab sliders and shrimp cocktail. Fabulous food, great service, and a beautiful view.

Wonderful addition to downtown Bath waterfront, which was sorely lacking good food choices. Delicious lunch options w/ a pretty view on the patio. Excellent customer service. My salad w/ crab was super fresh, beautifully plated w/ a housemade dressing.

The place is adorable, plus WOMAN OWNED loved sitting here slurping back oysters with my own sisters

Such a great spot!! We stopped by as a big group of 10, half adults, half kids and there was something for everyone! The oysters were amazing, the prosecco on tap was so good and the kids had their share of mocktails. We sat outside on the water and it was beautiful!! We'll be back for sure!

Super busy when we were there and some bratty lady returned her lobster roll because it had Mayo, but they kept it together and served with a smile. Beautiful spot right on the water

Fantastic drink selection and great oysters! The employees were helpful in curating a selection of a dozen oysters with delicious rotating mignonettes. We had a strawberry vinegar which was unique and yummy.

We already have some excellent local Asian restaurants but we don't have too many places, serving upscale bistro and pub food in an attractive setting. As this was our first time here, our server, Joshua, Was especially helpful and attentive in beverage and menu selections. And he did a really nice job of trying that all of the dishes came out at the right time in the right order, which isn't done often enough. Joshua highly recommended the falafel and I join him in that recommendation. The switch to lentils is the base made an exceptionally light but tasty version of a wonderful favorite. The mug, fish and cabbage dish was delicious, though maybe a bit larger certain of lentils, maybe with a bit more spice, would've made this dish even better . The risotto with crab was delicious, but the crab was lost in the dish, so it probably would be better as a crabcake or as a amount of crab meat on top of the risotto. And normally addition to risotto are made at the very end anyway, so this makes sense to get the most out of the crab. We had several glasses of wine, with generous pours; the Sancerre was exceptionally good and paired well with everyone's dishes. There are some excellent local beers on top as well for those who want beer rather than wine. One of our group had some of the oysters and said that they were extremely fresh and delicious - they were local from Brunswick (Mere Point). The desserts and after dinner drinks looked good, but we were full enough that we'll wait until another visit to do that.

We loved the Grecian - a Greek themed mixed appetizer plate with yummy pitas. The only addition that would have been good was a wedge of lemon but we devoured it before asking for one. LOL. We shared the shrimp appetizer- Gamberi e Agrumi- which was cooked perfectly but honestly it was the sauce that stole the show! Pistachio orange honey sauce - mmmm- so good. Then we shared Keftedes which was nice - half vegetarian for me and half lamb/beef. They were good but we couldn't stop thinking about the shrimp sauce. I had some Greek red wine which was fabulous!! The menu is pretty small and the dishes are not fancy, but this is more than made up for by the bold, fresh flavors, less-common ingredients, artful presentation, and generous portions. And equally importantly, creativity. Take the parmigiana, for example. Rather than boring, dry chicken breast theirs are made with boneless thighs, a much more interesting choice. In the carbonara, where you might expect bacon, something better: guanciale. Decorative herbs? Not the common parsley sprigs, instead beautiful purple micro-basil. The pastas: every one is made fresh in house, not dried. Excellent service as well. My waiter, Lucas, could not have been better, in every way. As for the bartender, Russell, the specialty cocktails are his own creations, with whimsical names, ingredients many of which I've never heard of, and the two I tried were fantastic. And he seemed genuinely pleased when I complimented him on this as I was leaving. The only service flaw - minor - was a delay in getting my first drink, which arrived after my appetizer. Appetizer was Arancini. Crunchy coating, and inside a risotto-style rice, al dente, along with asparagus, guanciale, and two cheeses for added interest. A beautiful presentation, artfully drizzled with lemon aioli (the lemon too subtle) and purple micro-basil. Two large pieces, and because I was dining solo I took one home for breakfast - along with half the generously-sized dessert cake. My cocktails: Eve's Temptation: Caraway-thyme infused vodka, Oloroso sherry, Dolin dry vermouth, apple, lemon. Hattan Bow Tie: Basil Hayden bourbon, Cocchi Barolo Chinato, Pernod Absinthe Superiore, flamed orange. Wish I could have tried every one! There's also a very interesting-sounding wine list including a red sparking Lambrusco dessert wine, served chilled, that I wanted to try but didn't. Lucas recommended the special pasta of the day, a simple dish of house-made spaghetti, romano, Calabrian chilis, garlic (lots and lots of it!), parsley, and bread crumbs. I don't normally go for pasta entrees, especially simple ones like this, but in this case it sounded interesting and I trusted his recommendation - after adding the optional grilled shrimp and guanciale. These additions raised the price considerably, but it was so worth it. The fresh pasta was perfectly cooked and the cheeses and bread crumbs added body without making it too heavy. The shrimps were very large, not overcooked, fresh, and loaded with more garlic flavor. The tails were not removed, which always slightly annoys me. The guanciale added smokiness and textural interest. More purple micro-basil for garnish. Pretty to be sure but disappointing to see it again; they used that on the arancini. As for the heat: it was more than mild from the chilis but by no means hot. The most assertive flavor was the garlic, much of it raw. Maybe a bit excessive but I'd rather have too much than too little. A good-sized portion but not huge, just the right amount to feel satisfied but not stuffed. And I left room for dessert! Dessert options were limited, even more so than the entrees. I decided on the pistachio olive oil cake. My take is it's like a pound cake but made with olive oil instead of butter. Olive oil was also drizzled on the plate and over the whipped cream; interesting. Lots of pistachio flavor, in the cake itself and also in the candied pistachios mixed in and sprinkled over the whipped cream which was flavored and firm. I ate one of the two slices and that was enough, taking the rest home. When I opened the box the next day I saw that they had even packed the leftover whipped cream in a small container, and it was still firm, not runny. Impressive. Disappointingly, there are no ice cream or gelato offerings for dessert. Lucas agreed with me that it seems a strange omission for an Italian restaurant. The room is comfortable and attractive, natural wood, old-fashioned cabinets, cork and burlap dominant in the decor. Plant prints, mosaics made from wine corks, an antique dresser in the men's room. The bar, dominant in the room (no TVs - yeah!), is apparently the place to meet and greet in Brunswick. I lost count of the number of hugs exchanged between the many people coming and going over the 90 minutes I was there. No hugs for me but I enjoyed watching the activity.

We couldn't find one and decided to dine in to use their facilities. I think we were among the first diners and realized that the restaurant was really nice and had such a wonderful view of the water. Our server was incredibly kind and hospitality. She informed us that the soup of the day was clam chowda to which both of us wanted right away. The chowda was flavorful and had a good amount of clams (many other restaurants choose to load it with potatoes, but not this one!). The soup does lean more brothy versus gravy-like which is a personal preference but taste wise it was still soothing. The menu had a lot of really great seafood options so I decided to try their Maine mussels. Our waitress said that the broth was really wonderful and would pair nicely with garlic bread which I also ordered. The entrees came out pretty quickly and the serving size of my mussels was double what I thought it would be. The mussels looked massive and the meat was as fresh mussels should taste. It was an excellent dish. The garlic bread would be a great vessel to soak up the mussel broth, but I felt that the bread was a little thin and slightly over-toasted to really soak up the broth. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed the overall experience and it does feel like a local spot.
