We stopped in during our summer road trip and just like the other yelpers say, this little place packs in big flavor, friendliness and quality food. We loved the chicken shawarma (sp?). This used to be a great place when Joe was running it and cooking the food. It was something that was a real treat when I would come to visit. The past visit the prices were higher, the portions seemed smaller, and the flavor was not the same quality that was expected from before. read more

Possibly my favorite Lebanese restaurant! Not only is the food amazing, but the owner and counter staff are super friendly and welcoming. We sat outside and had their phenomenal loubee (lamb cooked with green beans in a spiced tomato sauce) and stuffed eggplant with pine nuts and lemon--truly sublime. read more

I am nearly vegan and was worried about not being able to get good food on a recent mini girl's trip to Hampton Beach. No worries there! We ordered takeout from Martha's and I have to say, the falafel was the best I've ever had! My friend has visited Israel several times and had their excellent falafel and she said it was excellent too! Martha's serves up fresh, homemade Lebanese cuisine as well as American fare. I cannot get enough of their delicious smoky baba ganoush and tasty falafel. Don't miss the selection of Lebanese desserts made by Martha herself, such as baklava or mahmoul, shortbread pastries stuffed with pistachios and dates and dusted with powdered sugar. While Martha's is primarily a take out restaurant, there are a few tables in the small dining area. Authentic menu. Nice owners. All was set for a great experience. We ordered off the Lebanese side of the menu and found it to be better described as American-Lebanese food. Much saltier and more oil-laden than you would expect from traditional Lebanese cuisine. Too much lemon in the hummous, as well. In a nutshell, the least impressive Lebanese food we have had anywhere in the US. We were hungry but still couldn't finish it because of the intensity of salt and oil. As a Lebanese person it is difficult to find good Mediterranean food, let alone specifically Lebanese food, but this place is absolutely fantastic! Joe and Martha are incredibly warm, friendly people who make you feel at home and the place exudes the true friendly and gregarious Lebanese aura. I've never tried their American food although it seems to have a big following. But their Lebanese food is better than my mom's, and that's a true accomplishment. All their Lebanese cuisine is perfectly prepared with the best ingredients around, served with a talkative smile, and sold at a price that legitimately makes you feel guilty about paying so little. Can't recommend this place enough to anyone looking for truly authentic Lebanese food (trust me, you want to try it) or even just a damn good steak and cheese sub. read more

Mixed results. The rice in the stuffed grape leaves was undercooked. Way too dry. The lamb kebabs were not good. No flavor at all, too much char taste (though it didn't LOOK burnt and was cooked to specification), didn't even taste like lamb. Probably lowest bidder meat with no effort to add the appropriate seasonings. The falafel pocket was GREAT, exactly how it should taste. Delicious authentic Lebanese! Homemade pitas with the baba ganoush which has a delicious smokiness that doesn't compare to other places attempts. I ordered Kibbe wrap and he had his favorite Chicken Shawarma which once again was so good!! Baklava is out of this world with the honey. Wow! I'm so glad I finally checked this place out after moving to the area a few months ago. While deciding what to order, we were offered a freshly made falafel to try. My mom ended up ordering a falafel wrap. It was fresh, light, the falafel was fluffy and lightly fried, and the pita was delicious. I had a chicken shawarma wrap-equally as yummy. This was my first time here, and I'll definitely come back the next time I'm in the area. The owners were very nice and helpful. Although this is a small establishment, the menu is full of tantalizing choices, serving both Lebanese specialties, like kibbe, falafel, kafta, shawarma (chicken or steak) and a variety of kabobs, and "American" hot and cold subs and appetizers, along with salads. I had the chicken shawarma wrap -- delicious! And plentiful -- had half for lunch and the other half for dinner. One of the best hidden gems in the Seacoast. Despite living about ten minutes way, I never really noticed the place. It's a bit of a hole in the wall - the restaurant itself is small, but the food and service are amazing. The first thing to notice is the warmth of the owners. This place is amazing. Happened to be in the area and did a search for local lunch spots. Saw this and remembered someone telling me years ago about how good this place was and how much they loved Lebanese food. Ten plus year later here I am and I love this place too now. Lovely people very nice, food was made by Martha herself and her husband took the order. The smell in there was so good I knew I was in for something good. Very disappointed in my meal. I ordered a falafel plate ($10) and it was among the least appetizing Middle Eastern meals I've ever had. The falafel was too crispy flaky for my taste, kind of like if it had been deep fried. Whatever seasoning or spices they used in the falafel made it taste a bit odd to me. I was expecting a big plate of different types of things on it but there was just 5 or 6 falafel pieces on a pathetic salad. The salad was iceberg lettuce, a few slides of tomato, and pickles. Not sure why pickles are even on there. There was some pita and tahini sauce but the entire dish was completely underwhelming. Anywhere else I'd expect this to be like a $4 or $5 meal. Great authentic Lebanese food! While the decor is lacking, the character of this hole in the wall establishment is quite unique. It feels as if you are in your grandparents kitchenette. The falafel is next to none, desserts amazing, and I have yet to try some of the lamb dishes and other unique offerings. I am reluctant to give five stars because of the seemingly unsanitary conditions. The bathroom is disgusting. Don't put up an out of order sign, fix it!! Apparently, you cannot flush anything down the toilet (including toilet paper) and it is behind the cash register next to the open kitchen. Also, Martha tried to push one of the lonely desserts on me that had grown some sort of green fungus on the top. I opted for the baklava, which to my surprise was truly mind blowing! The food quality, selection, unique flavor and spices are what really shine here. Clean it up!
