    Nduja pizza

Nice sourdough pizza here! The crust was chewy and tasty! We got the nduja and the prosciutto pizzas. Could have had more nduja on the pizza, wasn't a lot on it so it wasn't as spicy as I would have expected. $27 was also a bit pricy for 12 inch pizza

Seasonal cabbage pizza & 500 ml bottle of Greek wine

A true hidden gem! Delicious Greek pizza with seasonal ingredients in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood. We made a reservation (highly encouraged) on a Friday evening - space was a bit crowded when we were seated at counter but we enjoyed watching the pizzas being made. We started with a Caesar salad (worth the hype) and a 500 ml bottle of a Greek wine ($16, which seemed very reasonable). The pizza (a seasonal cabbage one with hot honey) was perfectly crispy and flavorful. We are excited to return!

Delicious pizzas! We were a group of 3 and shared an app and 2 pizzas which was the perfect amount of food. We started with the whipped feta which was delicious. We shared 2 pizzas; classic cheese and halloumi. Both were really good and well made. Service was quick, but we did feel a bit rushed to finish our dishes and quickly clear plates at times. Nothing major but it didn't seem busy enough where someone was waiting for a table. Outside of that we had a great experience.

Stopped in here randomly when we were hungry and looking for food in the area. We were pleasantly surprised, services was quick and the pizza was delicious. Thin crispy crust with a tasty sauce and fresh good toppings. Chocolate olive oil cake was a perfect ending to the meal.

    Lamb + Hummus

Ordered the Classic cheese (added mushrooms), the whipped feta, and the Lamb + Hummus. It was a snow squall and didn't want to go out so laziness got the best of me. For 3 items plus delivery it was $93. A bit pricey but I took a chance based on the photos. WORTH EVERY PENNY. I don't have pics because I let my taste buds get the best of me. I would 100% go to the restaurant and order the same items in person. The quality and taste were a 10/10 so in person it would taste even better hot and fresh. The lamb + hummus was my favorite. Perfectly cooked meat and the flavors in the dish were clean and simple. The whipped feta was amazing too and this I would suggest to order in person. However if you don't mind a little deconstructed it's worth it. The pizza is an 8/10 for me and I would return.

Got carry out from here for a family dinner. We tried several of the pizzas and all were really good. The lab and hummus was outstanding. The Caesar salad sounded better than it ended up being. Prices were kind of high but the food was top notch.

Now one of my absolute favorite pizza places. Definitely not quite Neapolitan in my opinion, but phenomenally crunchy and complex sourdough pizza with a charming interior and great service! Definitely make sure to make a reservation ahead of time as this place fills up quickly!

Only managed to take a pic of the meatballs because we devoured the pizza so fast. But look at this thing! So good.

We've been here twice now, and it's only gotten better and better. The sourdough crust? Unreal. Their marinara is great and really made the marinara pizza special. I was super wowed by the sausage and grape pizza, and won't forget it anytime soon. Have never had trouble sitting at the bar, and service is fast. A 20% gratuity is included with every check. The prices are reasonable, too - eating here costs basically just as much as Pupatella, and this pizza is exponentially better and more special.

    Beets

Delicious dinner! The beets were amazing, and we also enjoyed the white pizza. We were able to get a table with no reservation.

    Halloumi pizza

Love love love their sourdough pizza! It's just amazing to see them make this amazing deliciousness right before your eyes. The menu is pretty simple and straightforward! You will enjoy a date night at this place (both food and ambiance)!

    Potatoes, Lamb Hummus, Caesar Salad

Vibes are immaculate here! Been multiple times, and not one food item has disappointed - it's all incredible. The lamb hummus is a standout. This place is a nice combination of great quality yet chill, comfortable, cozy vibes. A touch noisy, so keep that in mind for conversation, but it's worth it either way.

A very nice hidden gem in Mt. Pleasant! I love how open the kitchen area is and how initiate the restaurant feels. You really feel like you're part of the action here. Highlight of the meal: the halloumi pizza! The crust was great, the seasoning was perfect, and the halloumi absolutely hit the spot. I ordered it with dill sauce on the side, and it absolutely slapped. Hands down the best pizza I've had in DC. Everything else was a little lackluster. I loved the flavor of the spanakopita toast but was really put off by the high price point. The baklava cheesecake was a little soggy, and the olive oil cake was slightly too salty. For the high price, I don't think the quantity and quality were totally there, but it was close! I would come back here again specifically for that halloumi pizza. Outside of that, it's not bad! Just not a show stealer.

There is a parking garage around the corner of the restaurant so that makes things very convenient. The inside decor is gorgeous and is chic but also funky fresh. I got grilled octopus over a bed of bean salad that had pieces of pomegranate in it - 10/10. The savory taste of the octopus paired against the sweetness of the salad was really delicious. For desert I got the baklava option that comes with ice cream - INCREDIBLE. You have to order it if you come here.

The serving size of the dishes I ordered were medium to small. The service was far less satisfactory than food. I tried the following dishes: 1. Complimentary pita: ~40g per piece. Not salty and paired well with the other dishes. Definitely get some! 2. Lahmacun: The lamb+beef mixture was tasty. It came with 4 pieces. 3. Branzino: ~6oz. The fish was grilled to perfection; juciy tender, and the skin was nicely charred. It was served with freh parsley and seasoned grilled tomato (salt+oregano I think). 4. Imam Bayildi: Half of an eggplant topped with sauteed onions and tomatoes. While itself was pretty normal, it went so well with the Ottoman rice. 5. Ottoman Rice: The true highlight of all the dishes I tried! It was basically Basimati rice cooked with dried apricots, raisins, almonds & pine nuts mix, and seasoned with black currant. Overall it was warm, earthy and lightly smoky. The apricot slices added some delightful sweetness and juiciness to the dish. Should pair well with Labneh, chicken and seafood. But to be honest, I can simply eat this stuff along for a whole meal! 6. Tabbouleh: They went against the traditional recipe by substituting the bulgur with quinoa and added some pomegranate arils. I liked the special texture of quinoa. The sweetness of pomegrante arils also enriched the flavors. However, I had to constantly spit the seeds when enjoying the salad. 7. Kofte: Adana style ground beef patties. Just like what I make at home haha! I ordered it as an add-on to my salad at lunchtime. It came with only 2 pieces which weighed no more than 3oz in total... Despite the delicious food, service was disappointing. The first time, the dinner, was Okay. While my food came out slowly, at least my server was aware of it and asked me how I liked the dishes. The second time, the lunch, was horrible. Even before I was seated, my server made me feel that he was reluctant to serve me, and emphasized that I had to order asap. "Luckily", I had already decided what to order. After I got my dishes, no one in the restaurant asked me if the food was Okay. And at the check, my bill was thrown onto my table. In comparison, the two ladies dining next to me came even after I started eating, but were greeted warmly and were given lots of time to decide what to order; not to mention that the staff gave them lots of suggestions, asked about their dining experience, and even chatted with them about sightseeing in DC, etc. Such discrimitory treatment is really unacceptable.

Frankly, for the price it didnt seem like enough for our group of 6. Also, there were 2-3 flies around our table before we sat down. The restaurant itself is stunning. Walking in, you're immediately greeted by the massive open hearth where much of the cooking happens. Watching the chefs tend the fire throughout the evening adds another layer to the experience and sets the tone before your first bite even arrives. Our server explained the tasting menu ($95 per person) and optional wine pairing ($75 pp), but we decided to order à la carte--and I wouldn't change a thing. We started with the Carrot Havuç spread. It was impossibly light, silky, and beautifully whipped. I'll admit, the bread seemed understated at first, but after the first bite, it became clear that the spread was meant to be the star. Every bite was packed with flavor. The lamb shish kebab was incredibly tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. The Omani shrimp arrived with five enormous shrimp that were cooked flawlessly. Then came the whole roasted chicken. Watching it roast over the fire as we entered made us excited, but nothing prepared us for how incredible it would taste. It was, without question, some of the best chicken I've ever eaten. Moist, deeply flavorful, beautifully seasoned, and delicious completely on its own. It came with an accompanying sauce that was excellent, but honestly, use it sparingly--you don't want anything distracting from the chicken itself. When a dish can stand entirely on its own, that's greatness. Since it was a whole chicken, we happily went home with leftovers (which felt like winning the lottery). The cocktails deserve their own standing ovation. A special thank you to Nancy upstairs-- Great bartenders don't just make drinks--they elevate the entire experience, and she certainly did. The Serpent was beautifully balanced with bright citrus and herbal notes, while the Medina Palmer was refreshing, unique, and one of the most memorable cocktails I've had in a long time. Every drink felt carefully crafted rather than simply mixed. In the beginning of our night they asked if we were celebrating anything and I immediately answered, "my friend graduated from nursing school." Little did we know, they came with glasses of bubbly at the end of our dining experience to celebrate! Such a lovely gesture to end our evening. The word that kept coming up throughout dinner was divine. Service was warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely enthusiastic about guiding us through the menu. A few practical tips: * Reservations book well in advance, so plan ahead. * Street parking is limited. We chose to Uber and were glad we did. This was one of those meals where every course made us look at each other and say, "Wow." I can't wait to return.
