The return policy isn't the greatest but the selection is pretty diverse. You can find many major brands here on sale. They have all sorts of clothing brands for men, women, kids, and even a little bit of furniture. It's not uncommon to find something for only 30% of the original MSRP. They even have a small selection of kids toys which is my favorite. I always get a good deal on toys here for my daughter. read more

This is one of the best San Diego Marshalls locations. It is clean and the staff are all very friendly. I pride myself on finding good deals and the clearance section here always has great stuff. I never leave feeling cheated or like I should return something. I will say that their selection of shoes is a bit sparse for my taste but their home goods section is seriously on point. read more

The customer service here sucks . I was trying to get a luggage there and found that there are lots of dark spots on the luggage. I asked the sales rep if they have a new one. She said that they don't have a new one . However , they can give me a discount at the cashier . When I try to pay for it, the cashier checked with the so called manager, in fact a coordinator at the store, she said those spots can come off . Oh well..... If she can take those spots off, why she did not do it. She worked on Tuesday 7 pm shift manager. I love shopping at Marshall's. However , the inconsistency of their customer service stop me going back again. If I could , I will not let her be the manager with such a poor judgement and customer service skills . This is by far my favorite Marshalls location in San Diego. They always have a great selection and it seems to be more organized than some of the Marshalls. I also love how friendly all of the staff members are. Whenever I am in the neighborhood, I make sure to stop by. read more

While being sometimes slightly overpriced, they are usually fully stocked. I come here often and there's always something new. Their furniture seems to be of good quality but overpriced for being a "discounted" retailer. I can rely on Marshall's more than I can Ross Dress 4 Less - which is like a version of Food for Less but they sell crappy clothes instead. This Marshall's caters to all of La Jolla area so I always see those housewives quickly filling their cart up! read more

Oh Em G, I love this marshalls! Being the cheap bastard that I am, we decided to go to Marshalls for a lil saturday evening date, and to buy Christmas gifts for my family.. (thank god none of them are on here, otherwise they would know where I got their presents) We must have been in there for two hours. I picked up some reed diffusers, perfume, coffee cups, coffee thermoses, slippers, I cannot believe the amount of cool random crap I got, and was able to scratch everyone off my list. Marshalls, you are my new best friend. Oh and they are open until 10 during the holiday season, so the old people and people that haul their kids around everywhere are already in bed so it made for a nice shopping experience. I have been to this store a couple of times and everyone has been really friendly and kind. Until today, I was there for a return because one of the lovely ladies at other Marshall's location said I could return an item if I got an allergic reaction to it. Well today the manager (Hispanic lady with terrible attitude) at this location (I didn't get her name) told me I could not return it and kept rolling her eyes and moving her head with sas. I felt horrible and hopeless leaving the store, she was not pleasant at all and did not care about keeping her guest happy and in the mood to return. I am very disappointed with experience today. I have been shopping at Marshall's for year with my mother and it's the store I go to when I need to feel joy in my life. To get attitude from a manager from my favorite place in the world is heartbreaking. I dont even want to give a star in my review but sadly I have to. read more

I LOVE the Marshalls location in La Jolla! Every time I come here, I am always surprised about the selection and quality of items they have. I have to say I think this is the best one in San Diego. Last time I came here looking for some gym shirts, I spent ab bout $30 total for Nike and Adidas brand shirts...which would probably give me only one shirt at a department store. I never wait in line for more than 5 mins. This is one of my favorite stores. I suggest stopping by here before going to a name brand store...because they will probably offer your items for at least 20% less...just sayin' read more

Marshalls is kind of like TJ Maxx to me-you can find stuff but I don't think some amazing find is here. I found candles (I only bought 2 but wanted like 13 of them) They did have a few designer shoes that were pretty cool but I had already blown a bunch of $$ at Nordstrom rack earlier in my visit. read more

As with my review for it's neighboring Ross store. This store was very clean indeed, but lacked inventory found at other locations. They don't even carry jewelry!!! Yet they had four rows of purses (color co-ordinated btw). I will not be returning to this location ever any time soon. read more

This location is the best Marshalls you'll find! I'm in the area quite frequently and can't help but to stop in and see what great treasures I find. They have the BEST selection of name brand things for great prices. Their handbag and shoe selections are awesome, not to mention their clothes are pretty decently organized. ' I recently bought a pair of Jessica Simpson pumps for $29.99 when they are normally sold for $89 at the malls. I've bought tons of name brand items for super cheap! This location was due for a review. I love coming here. This store is always fully stocked with tons of designer clothes, shoes, bags and the prices are amazing. I just bought a brand new Michael Kors bag yesterday for $100! & to top it off they keep this store very clean and organized which makes things easy to find. Hit or miss like most second's stores, but if you're patient, and inspect carefully what you buy, often you can find a good deal on name brand items nearly indistinguishable from their full-price counterparts. Clothing selection a bit weak at times, but seems to run in cycles, with good items sometimes available. I used to love this store until today! Buyers BEWARE!!! If you purchase anything at this store check the product for flaws BEFORE you leave the store!!!! Otherwise when you try to return it you will get hassled! The heavy set older blond lady manager of the store was very rude!! she told me today that in the future they will not accept returns in that condition...perhaps they shouldn't sell garments in that condition!!! the dress I purchased had stain on it, unfortunately I only noticed when I got home and when I tried to return it that is the kind of attitude I get!!! they said I should have told them the dress had a stain on it when I purchased it so that they could note it on the receipt..WHY WOULD I BUY A DRESS WITH A STAIN ON IT!!!! Absolutely awful customer service . Came yesterday to inquire about a shampoo kit that made my skin itch and red and asked if I could return it without the receipt but proper debit card . She said absolutely . Today another lady helped me and said absolutely not, wouldn't even look at me and was extremely condescending INFRONT OF THE LADY I TALKED TO YESTERDAY. This is on of the better Marshall's in the sd area. As others mentioned a hit or miss. I look for specific designers when I go, so my window is very narrow every time I go in. When I find something, the pay off is great. As for customer service and store its self it reflects on the great deals u can get. Look past that, and look for the treasures u can find inside. The selection here is not as cheap as ross. I usually never find any good deals on kitchen/bath stuff here nor for mens clothing.

Maybe I hit the store on a miss night, but there was no one there to help steer me in the direction of women's tights. The only people I saw on the floor were restocking clerks that just vaguely told me to look "over there" and never left their bin to help me and one lone security guard who was trying to be helpful, spoke Spanish and just gave me the store manager's number. When I did try to call the manager today, I was told by the first girl that the tights were in women's bottom like trousers, and I asked why they would put hosiery in that section, which doesn't make sense. They also need to have better signage and more clerks on the floor (after work at around 6 p.m.) to help people find things. Who has time for this? Note when I did call and asked to speak to a store manager the next day, a giggling female got on the phone and was trying to pose as the manager. I asked her point blank if she was the manager, and she said to call back tomorrow afternoon at 1. Again, who has time for this unprofessional nonsense? Go elsewhere! read more

I made a purchase yesterday at Marshalls and one of the associates was really nice, however, she forgot to give me the receipt! I called the store and spoke to Dave and told him the situation. Dave asked me a few questions, asked my phone number, and called me back a few minutes later that I can pick up my receipt at my convenience! How refreshing to have such wonderful service! I love shopping at Marshall's. And honestly this location has some great stuff. But I am writing this review solely for the cashiers at this particular location. I have been here twice and received the same treatment. Just because I am brown skinned does not mean I will put up with your racist behavior. My cashier was this old ratty looking guy called Mort. After he was done serving the people at his counter, I was next in line. So he hands them the bill, looks at me and then turns around to start putting away hangars behind him. After making me wait for nearly 10 mins, he notices a line forming behind me and calls me to the counter in a very brusque tone. Then he starts removing the hangars from the tops I've put on the table. He doesn't say a thing to me nor does he make eye contact. He is extremely curt with me. Now there is a fairly large line behind me and lots of fair skinned people as well and his demeanor changes instantly. He then politely asks if I found everything alright and if I had a good day. He rings me up and says have a great day with a big smile (all for show!!). Great going Mort!!! You put on a great act. I didn't want to make a scene so I took my stuff and left. But I've never felt so discriminated before! Shame on you!! Both times I was here I was subjugated to a very racist attitude. All this because you are in La Jolla? I'm never coming back here!!! And if you are brown or darker skinned like me, find somewhere else to go!! Don't let yourself be treated the way I was. read more
