Great visit here today. I've been stopping into different Marshall's locations now and then looking for cheap sunglasses (to replace the cheap sunglasses I broke or misplaced since last time I came) but they've mostly been out since summer. A nice French woman employee (I heard the accent, I said "merci", she was très heureuse &&)... helped me find the current rack location, hidden in the back of accessories. It was a small selection... but among them were several cute pairs that were my style. Got 2 Jones New York, 1 Lucky & 1 other licensed designer I forgot, each for $9.99. Very pleased - and that will hold me for a while, til I misplace or break these. They have a really good selection of perfumes, I'm not sure if it's due to the holidays coming up but I was impressed and reasonably priced. This woman starts peeling off stickers trying to find higher prices for my items... then when it's clear that's the right sticker she continues trying to search the item ... doing absolutely anything for to try to make my bill higher... complete nut job. The bathrooms are VERY dirty. Every time I go to this Marshall's the restrooms are disgusting. They smell like pee, pee on the toilet seats, no toilet seat covers, and toilet paper on the ground. I try to avoid the restrooms here. This Marshall's needs to prioritize cleanliness and sanitation in there bathrooms. read more

Okay this is a fancier Marshalls, I love that there is a World Market, Ross, Marshalls, Nordstrom Rack and Whole Foods all so close to one another. As soon as my husband and I walked in we were greeted by member at Marshalls, they had some higher end designers for clothing but they had a lot more fun things when it came to their makeup, skin care and accessories. I ended up finding a lot of niche skin care products, a pair of really nice earrings and a cute woven bag for summer, then I found my husband a Padres Nike Hoodie, for $12! What a steal! This location is probably my new favorite, only issue is that I wish skincare and makeup were stocked up more. read more

Store is clean and associates are professional; however, the bathroom is so dirty and unsanitary.. There was poop on the side of toilet and on the seat. No air freshener and I am very nauseated. I am not exaggerating. I'm still sick. Bathroom needs a code for customers, air freshener and hourly maintenance. Customers want to feel comfortable and be able to shop all throughout. Would hate the fact we need the restroom to step out and may lose a customer/sale. Something to consider. Unfortunately, my item was scanned twice by the employee and when I went back they had me wait until the security cameras were checked, asking me what items I purchased, and making me feel that I was trying to beat the system. Even though the item number was the same on the receipt. Eventually when the manager came back confirming what I explained and returning my money back - she did not even apologize for their mishaps. Loved this marshalls was stocked with lots of varieties and the workers were very nice and greeted me when I entered. Parking can be very difficult since this marshalls is connected to an outdoor mall. The great Part was I could shop while my mom took my toddler outside to play in the shopping center playground bc no toddler likes to watch their parent shop lol so that was bonus. I have been coming to this Marshall's for a few years and find the selection is usually well stocked, especially designer items...always a deal. I feel for the store and the employees though because, as in most places in San Diego, the homelessness is becoming an issue. The management probably needs to hire a guard, unfortunately. You can't expect a bunch of middle aged women to start policing the store. Today the front of the store, by the counters, reeked of urine. I have no idea what it could have been. Are used to go to this location because it had fairly accessible parking. I drive an oversize truck. However, the parking lot is always at 100% capacity all the way around the corner and behind the adjacent buildings. This is because the students riding the trolley fill up this parking lot. The shopping center does not force the retail only parking zones. The students all know this and they openly gloat about abusing the system. They race around and it's also very dangerous if you attempt to walk through the parking lot to get to the retail locations. I don't shop here anymore because I could never find a parking spot, and I've been nearly hit on foot at least three times that I can think of in recent history since the trolley opened. My recommendation is to avoid the shopping center. You will not find a place to park. read more

I have been going to this location for nearly a decade and it used to be my favorite, however the last few visits have been terrible. Homeless people wander the store and pee themselves in the baby aisle. Today, my wallet was stolen and the thief went on a shopping spree at UTC mall trying to run thousands on my cards. I found Jimmy Choo Floral perfume for $34.99. I found a pair of Swarovski sun glasses for $59.99. I found La Florentina Peach soap for $3.99. An employee here racially profiled my husband. We were both in the hair and beauty section of the store. I was standing around the corner looking at some other items. I saw her come up, ask him if he needed help. He told her no thank you. She asked again. He said no again. She stuck around and continued to watch him. She then asked to see what was in his bag that he walked in with (from World Market). It was hot sauce and a candle, not that it was any of her business. She didn't even apologize. Marshalls is my new favorite thing! I can't believe I made it all the way into my late 30s without stepping foot into a Marshalls. Crazy right? So, the bad: it's a crazy-busy wild-west free-for-all (especially around Christmas time!) You're not really going to get customer service, per se. You may even have a non-negligible wait time to use a changing room. That said... wow, the prices here are low/awesome! I came in here to buy some running shoes. Actually I came in here to see what the prices were on running shoes before heading over to sports basement. Never made it to sports basement. Found last seasons New Balance for $39. 39!! I've run several 10k in them already as of the time of this writing, and they are awesome. Not like factory defects or anything. Perfect shoes, just one season "out of date". Ended up walking out with a couple dress shirts, pants, running shoes, six pairs of socks, and a few new pairs of boxers... for under $100!... ...mind ...blown! I ve been shopping in this Marshall's store for over 6 years. This location has amazing friendly and very helpful employees, an always variety of new branded clothing and home decorations. And I ve bee always coming here. However lately since opening of a trolley station there have been lots of homeless people, who behave aggressively to other shoppers and grab whatever they need and just walk away without paying for it. The store management have to do something about it. Hire a guards or report to police. Do something. You may lost me as a loyal customer, as I will think twice before coming to Marshalls again. Idk what it is-- maybe it's the cool name-brand finds you can stumble on, the discounted prices, or maybe it's just the variety of items they carry. This one is probably the best location tbh. It has more selection AND variety compared to the other stores near home. And I think it has to do with the fact that it's in La Jolla lol. They even have discounted items from stores you can find at the UTC mall down the street! I had more come ups here than I did shopping at UTC just beforehand. This Marshall's is the best location so far. I found a Smashbox eye shadow palette, a pair of earrings, a toy for my daughter, a head band, and a Paris Hilton lip gloss which I bought. Good deals here and I actually found some stuff. Still on the hunt for Mark Jacobs. I definitely liked the stuff here. I'm surprised to find good things. The bags were even cheaper here. Name brands like Guess and Michael Kors. Place was organized and things were easy to find. Loving this location. I will be back to see if I can find more makeup for an affordable price. It used to be awesome, now it feels like we were shopping in Mexico... we found 3 same items and one of them didn't have the tag in it, a while ago they would just make a matching tag and you would be out- this time some Spanish lady called 2 more Spanish speaking employees over , they were talking in Spanish for a while in front of us up until we decided that it's not worth waiting for and left the third item. Ladies that were helping started walking away and kept talking loud in Spanish back to our salesperson... very unprofessional... And don't get me wrong, nothing against Spanish language or people speaking it, but now, in the place of business when they are obviously taking about a problem of some sort and about a customer, while that customer doesn't understand what's going on , that's just disrespectful. read more

I have finally gotten to the point where I am reviewing clothing stores....yikes! Anyway, this Marshalls always provides good service and is clean organized. They have some "high-end" brands, but majority is day to day wear and supplies. I tend to come here when I need things like socks/boxers and cookwares. I work in a bar that requires dress shirts, so I come here to buy cheaper but still stylish dress shirts that I don't mind getting ruined. This location is one of my favorite Marshalls stores in San Diego. When you enter, you will find that about 3/4 of the right side of the store is dedicated to mostly shoes and handbags with a clearance shoes section lining almost an entire wall. Lots of name brands to choose from. Throughout the years, I have purchased several pairs of shoes here, most priced less than $60, and a Michael Kors handbag for only $69! Each section is nicely organized and clean. They have a large Junior section with about 8 aisles and a higher quality selection of children's clothes. She then told me if that happens, I'll just have to go back to shopping at macy's (insinuating I will be remorseful for not signing up) because marshalls isn't a big company like macy's (???). This is a great store! It's a great place to pick up towels, sheets, pots, pans and other home goods as well as women's shoes. The selection is good and prices are like department store sale prices for quality goods. The store even carries iPod speakers, headphones, etc. at great prices. The clothing selection is good but a bit hit and miss.
