I'm a fan, when my wife's a fan. Free People provides excellent service and sell their clothing at reasonable prices. My wife usually finds something interesting to wear and always looks great. I love that this store has a small place for me to sit and enjoy the AC on a hot summer day while my spouse shops til she drops. There is a wide selection of jeans, shorts, tops and accessories all well displayed and laid out on their sales floor. I'll definitely be back as my other half loves this place and is dangerously too close to home and Nordstrom. How did I get to be so lucky!? read more

I like how every time I go to this store there is something new, they keep re-styling the store frequently and makes it very attractive for constant visits. The clothes seem to target younger customers but I feel that the clothes fit my personality and I like buying items from them and also get inspiration to do my own mix and match with different brands. read more

Racially profiled, even had our 3 kids with us. They came up to my wife twice and asked to grab her stuff from her to hold up front . Store had multiple people and rhey didnt ask anyone else if they needed help or if they wanted their stuff held up front. Just cause you work there and youre broke doesnt mean we all are. read more

Love the vibe from Free People! I'm a casual kind of person and love the comfort and baggy/slouchy vibe of FO clothing lines! Quality is always great. They aren't the cheapest but neither are they the most expensive! Everything I've bought from their branded clothing has been top quality ! read more

I was racially profiled by this store a couple of months ago. I called corporate 5 times to see if I could speak to someone about it, and they informed me a regional manager would be in touch. I never got a call. This was the worst treatment, and service, and I will be taking my money elsewhere. read more

Sorry Free People! Actually NOT sorry - you're customer service sucked today!! I went into your store today hoping to find something cute and trendy for my daughter but you all walked around me like I was furniture! Yes....basically not acknowledged/greeted or asked if I needed assistance. I like to shop "alone" and not badgered every minute but I was basically ignored. Pretty much. Customer service was non-existent and rude! You see me rummaging through the racks and piles of clothes but not once did anyone ask if o needed help or if they could start a fitting room for me. Last time I come here. I'll just take my business elsewhere. read more

Did a phone order from another store because the item I wanted was sold out everywhere else. The ladies at this location were so nice and helpful. They mailed me to my house the item that I wanted in the size I needed in no time...and they sent it very neatly wrapped, with a cute, hand written letter! I am super appreciative of the time and effort they put into it ALL. read more

I love love love this place! so far the employees have been wonderful (i've been her twice) Honestly though ...i bypass the entire store and and head straight for the clearance rack, which is tucked away at the back corner of the store... Clearance ranges from $20-$80 ish... the clothes here are mostly super comfy, airy clothing ...feels naked =) the clothes can be used as dressy or casual...so super versatile. yes it's a bit pricey...but be smart like me and you can have more than a few pieces in your wardrobe. i think i like the carlsbad location a bit more...no specific reason...maybe it's because of a dress i scored fro $50...that is more than fabulous! ok i think i'm headed up there later today read more

I would give this location zero stars if possible. Just had the worst experience I've ever had at any Free People location. Don't shop here. From the second we walked in all you could hear were all the workers gossiping and laughing behind the counter extremely loud, completely ignoring all customers, no greeting, not even so much as an acknowledgment. Then we go up to the counter to pay... there are literally 5 employees (I kid you not) behind the counter and not a SINGLE one said a word to us.... They just proceeded to continue with their conversations. As someone who has worked in customer service/retail my whole life... I was in complete shock. I would have just walked out without purchasing anything but needed to purchase a gift for someone for Christmas. I said "hi, are any of you open?" and then one of the girls at the counter was like "oh, yeah" and then proceeded to roll her eyes as if I was inconveniencing her. She rang me up and literally threw my item back at me with the receipt with NOT EVEN A BAG. I had to ask for a bag and she proceeded to have a bigger attitude and then tossed the item in the bag carelessly. Then as we were leaving she started laughing and gossiping about us with her coworker... unbelievable. Worst customer service I've ever had... EVER. Terrible customer service. Her cashier number is: 312825 for the manager / corporate that sees this. Do better Free People. read more

I hate and I love free people. It's the reason my closet is so full of pretty things, and the reason my bank account is so "meeeh" looking. I like this location better than the one in Fashion Valley, simply because the space is larger and ergo their selection is wider. The girls working here have always been very attentive and polite, even when it's madness inside of the store. So, about the store... if you're looking for the perfect "homeless-boho-chic" look, you came to the right place. They have everything your bohemian heart can desire. Clothes, accessories, shoes, jewelry, phone cases, you name it! The store has a bad rep of being too expensive, but that's not necessarily the case. There's a little of everything for every budget; specially if you hit up the sale section in the back. read more

Unbeleivable! The dressing room door in this place is a thick curtain. I pulled the curtain closed to try on bras and a sales associate OPENED the curtain on me, she then demanded to know my name and how many items i had with me. No one had previously greeted me even though the store was practically emtpy and i had walked around the entire store before trying on bras. I walked up to the sales desk after this horrible invasion of privacy. I pointed out that there were security tags on my items and that the other sales associate could have knocked instead. The woman at the desk did not apologise for the other woman's behavior. WOW! Two sales associates with zero tact and zero training in customer service. I will NEVER shop here again. read more

Finally! A closer location! Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing :o I am a fanatic for Free People! I was ordering online for a while because the Carlsbad location was a bit too far, although that location is fantastic as well. I visited to UTC location for the first time this week and of course, I'm in love! The girls were as bright and friendly as all the other stores I've visited, and very helpful. I'll definitely be back, over and over again I'm sure. This is my new store! Xo read more

Love free people. It gets me. What makes it even better is that the ladies that work there are so helpful. I tried on a few pairs of jeans, and like the fit, but knew I needed a different size that they did not have. They offered to call other stores for me, or even order it online with free shipping. I took them up on their offer. There were a few other customers in the stores that also had the same issue, but the girls were more than happy to order it online for them or check and see if a fellow FP store had it in stock. Great customer service is always great, and of course makes it more likely you'll open your wallet (which this store is kinda $$ so when the people are nice, it helps). read more

I don't typically write reviews on yelp or other forums, however I had an amazing experience today from the girls in this store and wanted to praise them. A huge thank you to Kasey and Maddie for helping me correct an ordering issue I had when purchasing something from the store to ship directly to my house. The mistake could have happened to anyone, but the manager Kasey had such a positive attitude and took down all my information...then remembered several days later to follow up with me. Maddie was on shift when I called back and with both of their help I was able to get the dress I ordered expedited to me. Thank you ladies for being so helpful. Great customer service at this store. read more

The girls are fabulous, helpful and adorable! I'm actually closer to Carlsbad, but I drive a little further for this staff and their help! Thank you ladies xx read more

I have shopped at this location many times, as I am in love with the clothing. On my last 2 visits I received such incredible service from Sarah and Maddie. Sarah assisted me with an online purchase, she was patient, friendly and super attentive. She made it a pleasure to help me with the online purchase. Then last night I went into the store again at UTC and Maddie help me. I am so grateful that there are such amazing sales associates still out there. This is why I love shopping in a store as opposed to online! Thank you ladies! read more

I've been completely ignored every time I come in here. It's like the staff go out of their way to pay you no attention. Also, if you're over an 6, I wouldn't suggest coming here. This is not a size inclusive store. read more

Any time I've ordered on line, over night shipping, it comes 3-4 days later. Free people credited me my shipping back this time. I don't think it's even possible to get next day delivery becuz any time I've ordered this way, there's been a 3-4 day delay. read more

This review is solely regarding the customer service here, I am extremely disappointed with my first and definitely last in store experience at this location. From another review it is possible that I dealt with the same person. It was earlier in the day which led to me being practically the only customer the whole 40 min I was in the store. One of the employees, Kaci, was very dismissive and when I asked her for help she kept working on a project and would acknowledge me after she finished what she was doing. I understood that she was busy so tried to get other sizes I needed on my own which led to me walking around the store barefoot looking for what I needed. Now don't get me wrong, I don't mind doing this but when you are in a higher end store that is virtually empty some attention is appreciated. Overall an unpleasant experience and will definitely be going to the one in Carlsbad or Fashion Valley from now on. read more

I normally love Free People- I actually get all my clothes and spend heaps of money there. I didn't appreciate the service I just received from Lindsay and thought she was extremely rude. I had forgotten my card but had the card on Apple Pay [so no big deal- even if it didn't work I would have been happy to take store credit] the way she treated me as if I was dumb [like I should know the store policies] [even through what I was saying was right, valid, and worked] she continued to argue before letting me get out what I was trying to say and was extremely RUDE. I won't be shopping at this location again. X read more

I took my girlfriend out for her birthday tonight and we went here because she absolutely loves this brand and the quality. With her birthday coming up, we had been in a couple times, planning to come back today because she had birthday money. Immediately when we walked in, she felt like we were being watched. I didn't think anything of it when she told me because when I looked we weren't. Not long after, the girl comes over by where we were standing, and I watched as she stared at my girlfriend while pretending to fix 5 different racks. I had a jean jacket in my hand that she couldn't decide if she wanted or not bc it was $130. We ended up being in the store longer than we originally thought because her grandfather called to wish her happy birthday. When I saw we were being watched I immediately told my girlfriend who walked through the store from the back where we were to the front. The girl immediately followed and was in no way subtle. My girlfriend then contemplated not getting the jacket at all because she was upset. When we went to check out my girlfriend's card chip malfunctioned and the girl looked terrified as if we were going to run out with it. We used apple pay and purchased our items. She did not take her eyes of my gf and then didn't even say anything when we were walking out. I don't know if it was because she was homophobic or what but I definitely felt like a real POS for not believing my lady in the first place. If I could give it no stars I would. Definitely won't be coming back. read more

I like the Linda Vista location customer service much better. It's also a larger store with more selection. This location is okay, but it's tiny and it's hit or miss when it comes to customer service. I've spent over $2k this past year on Free People clothing and I have been very pleased with service (even with resolving online order issues). However, today I stopped by this store to get a $20 price adjustment and the young lady that helped me (with glasses) came across a bit snotty and bordered on rude in her tone and interaction when I was asking questions about why the dress I bought came up on her register under a different name than was listed on my receipt. She did apologize once I was able to prove they were indeed the same dress. I was just a bit bothered once I thought about the interaction later. I worked retail in college and I would have never thought to interact with a customer that way. read more

Finally! A closer location for us Boho gals in San Diego. Yay! Scary, but yay! Lol. Im sure it will be as kitsche & sweet as the Forum store. Missed the Grand Opening, but heading there this morning to shop shop shop! read more

This place is crap. Smells like a hippie store(not good), And it obviously is. The people working here look and act like they are oblivious to anything. I watched one if the sales girls just wandering around not paying attention to anyone. I have been in here on two separate occasions and was paid no mind to whatsoever. I make it a rule if thumb to NEVER shop at a store that doesn't act like it wants me there, with at least an acknowledgement. read more

There's was literally 1 other person in the store and there was two girls standing around, who clearly saw me, never got greeted nor asked if I needed help which is one reason I went into buy something. I rather shop online, horrible customer service. This is one reason I would rather shop online. Very snobby cashiers. read more

I was so happy to visit this location as it is closer to where I live, I had a return and wanted to purchased a dress, to my disappointment the sales associate an Asian girl(sorry forgot to ask her name) she never smiled and was also rude, the invoice for my return showed a discount so this girl asked me in a loud voice and with a bad attitude"are you an employee? or why did you received a discount?" getting the attention of everyone in the store which it made me very uncomfortable, so much that I forgot to buy my dress. I think the question was completely unnecessary and rude...I guess she doesn't like people who return items. oh well,I will have to continue making longer trips to Carlsbad, everyone is nice there! Want to make clear that I love, love Free People,my 2 stars are for the bad experience. read more

Just finished shopping at this Free People location. I was looking at necklaces but didn't have any in my hand, just had picked up a few to look at and put them back down. I saw the 3 girls working there whispering and looking at me and then one of the girls proceeded to come up to me and ask me if I had any necklaces I was holding (which I obviously wasn't) that I wanted her to hold at the front. I told her no and then went to pay for the clothes I was buying. When I was paying, I saw her looking into my bag, and when she saw that I noticed she asked me what brand of sunglasses I had to cover herself. It was so obvious they all thought I was stealing something, even after I spent over $100 on clothes. As I was leaving the store I said bye to the employees and no one said anything back, one of them just gave me a cold glare. I left feeling so embarrassed and will not be coming back to this location. read more
