Located on Roosevelt Row, Taco Boy's has a parking lot. It's not big, but I found a spot on a Thursday evening. Ambiance (3.5/5): Taco Boy's is a little chaotic. You order at the counter and then they call your name when your food is ready. It's not a large taco joint, and it's a popular taco joint. Which means you'll see a lot of people cycling in and out, as a lot place to-go orders too. Not the most calm experience, but not an issue for me. You'll also come out smelling like meat lol. They have an open kitchen, and it smells fantastic. The downside is that it sticks to your clothes, too. Service (4/5): Service isn't a big part of the experience, but for what it is, it's pretty smooth. They took my order quickly, I paid relatively quickly, and my food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. Drinks (5/5): I'm a sucker for agua frescas. Taco Boy's delivers. They had four flavors available. I went with the pineapple/mango. It's served in a large cup. Good stuff. Food (5/5): I wasn't terribly hungry so I got a small barbacoa quesadilla. Outside of quesadillas, they have tacos, vampiros, and burritos. Your choice of meat including usual suspects like carne asada, al pastor, chicken, etc. They grill all of their food right in front of you and it's absolutely delicious. Fresh off the grill. Flavorful. Well marinated. Quality meats and ingredients. At the complimentary salsa bar, you can stock up on various sauces, limes, cucumbers, etc. I can't wait to get back to have a heartier meal and try out more of their items. Hands-down, the best Mexican food I've had in Phoenix so far (after a year and a half).

So, I ended up ordering the Tres Leches de Coco, and it was absolutely amazing. It wasn't overly sweet at all and felt surprisingly light. The only thing I didn't like about this place was the restroom situation. You have to grab a key from the restaurant and walk outside to a restroom a few restaurants over. We had a great experience at Mariscos Boyz in Arizona. With my extensive food allergies and dietary restrictions, eating at restaurants can be very difficult, especially at a seafood restaurant. My restrictions include eggs, wheat/gluten, soy (including soy sauce, soybean oil, soy lecithin, etc.), peanuts, all tree nuts, sesame, canola oil, cod, shellfish, tallow, and proprietary natural flavors. I also have Alpha-gal syndrome, so I cannot have pork, beef, or lamb. Because of eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE), I also cannot have watermelon, mango, or onion. I explained my allergies to the staff, including the importance of avoiding cross-contact, and they were very helpful and accommodating. They took my restrictions seriously, answered my questions, and worked with me to make sure I had options I could eat. That means a lot when you have to be extremely careful about ingredients and preparation. I never felt like I was being a difficult customer--they were patient and willing to work with me. Thank you to the Mariscos Boyz team for taking such good care of me. It made a big difference being able to enjoy a meal without feeling like I was putting my health at risk. Highly recommend them, especially if you have food allergies and take the time to communicate your restrictions clearly. read more

MariscoBoys absolutely exceeded our expectations! The food was incredible, and the three different types of aguachiles were top tier--easily some of the best we've had. Huge shoutout to our waiter, Ivan, for recommending them because every single one was packed with fresh flavor and perfectly prepared. Ivan truly made our experience memorable. His customer service was outstanding--he was personable, respectful, attentive, and a lot of fun. He kept the energy up and created such a lively, welcoming atmosphere that made our visit even more enjoyable. The drinks were just as impressive. I ordered the Lemon Drop Martini, and it was exactly what I wanted: strong enough to hit, but smooth and flavorful enough to savor every sip. Between the amazing seafood, delicious cocktails, and exceptional service from Ivan, MariscoBoys has definitely earned a repeat visit. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for fresh mariscos, great drinks, and an all-around fantastic dining experience! read more

Absolutely Incredible Experience at Marisco Boys! From start to finish, our experience at Marisco Boys was nothing short of phenomenal. The seafood was fresh, flavorful, and expertly prepared--every dish was a standout. A huge shoutout to Christian Jenkins, the General Manager, whose attentive and thoughtful service made our evening truly special. He was incredibly responsive, checked in regularly, and gave us some excellent recommendations that made all the difference. We booked the private room for a party, and it was perfect--intimate, comfortable, and well-appointed for hosting. It really set the tone for a memorable gathering. If you're planning a private event or just want an amazing seafood experience, I highly recommend Marisco Boys. We'll definitely be back! read more

Went here for the first time and was not disappointed! Food was flavorful and filling. Cocktails were good. The service was nice and the ambiance was nice. Being in AZ many restaurants with piping hot dishes don't often have well circulating A/C but their A/C was excellent! So the hot food did not make you feel uncomfortabley warm while eating. The atmosphere was relaxed and casual. The value is hard to beat, six tacos for $20 is a solid deal. Here's how the tacos stacked up: Al Pastor (5/5): Easily the standout. The sweet pineapple paired perfectly with the savory pork, creating a great balance of flavors. I would have loved just a little more char on the meat, but it was still my favorite taco of the bunch. Birria (4/5): Full of flavor and definitely worth ordering. A strong second place. Asada (3/5): Good, but a bit more seasoning would have elevated it. Pollo (3/5): Tender and cooked well, but I would have liked a little more seasoning to make the flavor stand out. The rice and beans (3/5): were about what I'd expect, perfectly fine, but nothing that really stood out. I really enjoyed the corn tortillas. They had a slight crisp on the outside while staying soft inside, giving them a great texture. The guacamole sauce on top of the tacos added so much flavor that I hardly felt the need for salsa. The Al Pastor and Birria really carried the meal and made this a worthwhile stop. I probably wouldn't make a special trip across town just for it, but if I'm in the area and looking for a good taco deal, I'd definitely come back.
