Here's a polished version of your review: Marigold has the perfect ambiance for a nice night out, whether it's with a significant other or for a business meeting. The wait staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, which made the experience even better. On top of that, everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious. I would 100% recommend this place.

Came here for a birthday dinner and it did not disappoint! Gorgeous aesthetic and lovely service, this place is a true fusion of Indian and British pub food. Tried the chili paneer, potato cadaver, beef pot pie and the chickpeas and squash curry. The curry was the standout for sure! Incredible cocktail and thorough wine list, I definitely want to come back and try other things on the menu. Great selections for vegetarians as well! Park in the fountain square garage for sure, its a very short walk.

This place is quickly becoming one of my go to happy hour spots! They have great bites and sips and a good selection of happy hour deals on weekdays until 6 PM. The restaurant is also so beautiful and the bartenders and servers are great.

We had a 6:00 reservation on a Wednesday evening. It was bitter cold out and the restaurant was not crowded. The entire dining experience was top notch. The restaurant is chill and classy. Our server was knowledgeable, helpful, accommodating and had a wonderfully subtle sense of humor. The menu is small, but varied. While everything we ate was superb, there are so many other interesting items on the menu that it only makes sense to come back. My nephew had East Coast Oysters and loved them. He and his wife shared English Carbonara; there was not a single piece of pasta left. They also shared Steak & Chips. The steak was so tender, no knife was needed. I ordered the Short Rib Vindaloo. At our server's suggestion, I asked to include a side of chili paste. Dipping my spoon into the paste added amazing flavor to each bite. The Sourdough Naan was tender and perfect for ensuring nothing was left in the bowl. A small bowl of sliced cucumbers, onions and tomato came with the dish. I didn't know what to do with it so I dumped it into the vindaloo. While that may not have been the proper approach, I have to say the crisp, pickled veggies were a perfect addition. This meal was outstanding. Mark had Fish & Chips. I looked at the price and thought, "Oh my!", but my shock was quickly calmed by the massive pieces of fish that arrived at the table. The fish was perfectly, lightly breaded and was flaky and delicious. Another great meal. Dessert. Don't miss dessert! My nephew's wife had the Lemon Posset. Our server recommended this dessert as the lightest offering. We all tried it and wow! Amy told our server it was so good she wanted to lick the bowl. My nephew and Mark both had Sticky Toffee Pudding. I swear my nephew was in tears. He said it was the best dessert he's ever had. I had a taste of Mark's. Be warned, it is extremely sweet, but also fabulously delicious. I had Affogato over which espresso was poured. While it wasn't stated on the menu, a quick google search confirms affogato is gelato smothered in hot espresso, so there you have it. Mark and I both had an NA Weihenstephaner. I said it was 'spicy', which threw everyone at the table until I explained it was spicy like holiday spice - clove, cinnamon and the like. Not sure that's what is in it, but it was very good. I look forward to returning and trying a completely different meal.

I will start by stating that the Crown Restaurant Group is by far my favorite! Thee most consistent and amazing group of restaurants in cincy!! I've officially been to all of them. I stopped in last night for my birthday dinner and tried the prefix menu and everything was made to perfection. I tried the steak and chips with the Pachadi salad. The salad was so fresh and delicious with a vinaigrette as the dressing. The steak and chips was a little more salty than I prefer but I still enjoyed it. Make note they don't carry steak sauce. The meal ended with a sticky toffy pudding and I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. My mom tried the trout with the mushroom samosa and she also loved her meal. The inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the service was great! We will be back for sure.

I tried Marigold for date night after all the recent hype and they did not disappoint. Overall, most of what we ordered was flavorful. We shared the mushroom samosas and the accompanying mint yogurt chutney was so good. The trout was cooked perfectly although I do wish it had a curry sauce (while I jealously side-eyed my husband's malabar shrimp). Unfortunately, I deducted a star for the sourdough naan as it was a massive fail (absolutely nothing like naan due to the heaviness). Additionally, the chai I ordered was meh. For Marigold's take on Indian, I do wish they offered a masala styled chai with milk. However, they absolutely nailed the sticky toffee pudding. That was heaven in my mouth. I wouldn't hesitate to return to try a few other things and especially if they offered a fish curry.

Love the atmosphere here! Very cozy, darkly lit, classy but comfortable. The fish and chips - best I've ever had! Unbelievably crispy and crunchy! I couldn't believe the crisp factor. Very large portion easily shared for 2. The veggie curry - fine. I will go to my local Indian spot before I get this again. Bread and butter - tasty. Would prefer the bread to be more toasted and less char grilled. It had grill marks but was still soft/not toasted. Treacle butter was great. FYI the spicy ramekin is an up charge, as is naan. Service was fast, attentive. No reservation and no wait on a Friday night. Would return

Bread service with the outstanding old fashion

Interesting concept. I loved the look and feel of the place. The cocktails were top tier, I had the old fashion and it was outstanding. The bread service was basic. We split the Pachadi salad was very flavorful and a nice start to the meal. From there we split the Vindaloo which was very basic and honestly bland and not much taste. The Saffron Rice saved the dish. I think I need to give the place another try but I'll skip the Indian inspired dishes. I was expecting a bit more, and I left underwhelmed. My dinner companion loved it for comparison

This place is beautiful As soon as you walk up there are marigolds sketched in the window Our server was do sweet and our waiter Steve made the night better He loved my hat The interior of the restaurant is fabulously decorated the bar is great and the painting on the wall is exquisite Now the food started with Batada Vada potato and onion fritters with apricot chutney I could eat the chutney everyday I got the cottage pie which is comfort food 100 percent and my sister got the butter chicken with naan Excellent choice all the way around

We celebrated our anniversary at Marigold and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The evening started off with complimentary sparkling champagne, which was such a thoughtful touch. We each ordered a cocktail-- I had the Mango Lassi and my partner had the Stirred Bird. Both were complex, balanced, and genuinely delicious. For our appetizer, we had the Prime Beef Tartare. It was incredibly tender and practically melted in our mouths -- truly a must-try. For entrees, we ordered the Lamb Shank and the Malabar Shrimp Curry. Both were phenomenal. I'm so glad I didn't let some of the negative reviews about the curry sway us. Yes, it's lighter than a traditional Indian curry, but this is a British-Indian restaurant, and the flavor profile reflects that beautifully. It was fragrant, nuanced, and absolutely worth ordering. We finished with a lemon dessert that was bright, refreshing, and the perfect end to the meal. Overall, Marigold exceeded our expectations in every way. Thoughtful service, excellent cocktails, and creative dishes that deliver-- we'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

We csme here on Fri evening with a reservation and were seated immediately. We easily found street parking. We ordered dishes the share family style. My Favorite dish was the pachadi salad (had a delicious mustard-based dressing) and scotch egg with a flavorful cooling cucumber sauce. The lamb shank had a food portion of tender meat, but could have used more flavor, and the curry was too salty, although the shrimp was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the batata vada (came with 5) based on others'rave reviews, but I now regret not trying the chili paneer instead. Lovely ambiance, and the dishes were well paced.

Gorgeous restaurant, excellent menu and food quality and the staff is super nice. We spent a few hours on Valentine's day at Marigold, inhaling the delicious food and sipping on yummy drinks. My favorite was the Malabar shrimp curry and the steak ans chips. The lemon dessert was so delicious and light.

First off, the restraint is really pretty inside. It's a huge space! Went with a few friends on a Thursday and was pretty slow. Service was adequate, friendly, but a little on slow side. Nothing that bothered us that much. Overall food was pretty good with a couple little hiccups. We started with the paneer and mussels. We all thought those were by far our favorite dishes of the night. Paneer was out of this world, I could have eaten that for my meal. Mussel sauce and sourdough were delicious. I had the butter chicken which was a bit disappointing. I know others have commented on it same but chicken was an awful texture. Sauce was decent though. My friends had the steak and shrimp curry. Curry was food but steak was so tender. Chips were a little underdone to my liking. Overall I'd go back to try some other things and just for paneer. Again, amazing!!

Our server, Chloe, introduced herself with a smile and provided us with a quick refresher. I knew from her energy that we were going to be in great hands for the evening. Sweet, fruity, and pretty... that green cocktail did exactly what it needed to do, lol. FIVE STARS! Now, on to the food... The Gator Bites are a MUST. I ordered the hot honey sauce on the side just to play it safe and I am glad I did, because babyyyy, that spice had no boundaries. If you're a lover of spicy things, you'll be good to order as is, lol! I also ordered the Roasted Oysters. Another MUST! The oysters had a parmesan crust with lemon garlic butter drizzled over them... They were gone in minutes! I was on the fence for my entree, but then my girl Chloe clocked that Pasta Mardi Gras and the rest is history. It was creamy, savory, and packed with flavor. I knew my girl wouldn't let me down! Our experience was excellent! I definitely recommend reservations. Pappadeaux wasn't terribly busy when we arrived, but by the time we finished up & headed out, they had a line out the door. If you're in the Cincy area, add to your foodie list! Overall, a great restaurant for a GNO, date night, or any celebration.

The gator bites were tender like chicken and the oysters were so flavorful! For the drink, I had the Swamp Thing cocktail and I was happily buzzed after finishing it. It was sweet, refreshing and the alcohol wasn't overpowering. Highly recommend Pappadeaux's if you're ever in the Cincinnati area!!! Customer Service: Chloe was our waitress and she was knowledgeable, sociable, funny and caring. She did a wonderful job in giving recommendations and telling us about the specials. She checked on us consistently and was never overbearing. The staff was timely with the appetizers, and the ebb and flow of the crowd seemed under control and all waiters/waitresses were ensuring orders were correct. Thank you Chloe for the top-tier service!! Ambiance: Pappadeaux's is typically upscale causal to business casual, but everyone is free to come as they are! It is family friendly for all ages. The decor gives an intimate open dining vibe. When it gets busy, it's BUSY. But the wait will be worth it! I guarantee there is something for everybody. It comes with a side of Chips. My second try was the Meatball grinder. This was heaven. The meatballs and sauce are fantastic. Again, great bread too! Also comes with a side of chips. Now when I saw they had Hummel Hot Dogs, a New Haven CT Staple, I about lost it. They even had the correct bun, perfectly toasted. Its all about those little details! I enjoyed mine with kraut and cheese! Next up, the clam chowder... it had a nice smoky flavor to it. Finally, the baked Ziti and side of meatballs, which comes with Italian bread and butter. The salmon my friends had was much better. Service was ok, Prices, even during a restaurant week feature, were on the higher side. The location is cool enough to bring it from 3 to 4. With rooftop seating, a popular bar and an overall pretty cool vibe, this place could be a 5 star place for me, but it just doesn't deliver as much as it could

For such a nice restaurant and view you would think the service and food would match. We sat down…read moreand our waiter was quiet slow to come and greet us. I know they were busy for restaurant week and I aknowledge that but it took a long time for our food to come as well. The items on the menu we ordered didn't match the description and the presentation felt sloppy. We orderd the soup and not till after we had our first course and probably 20 mins goes by we were told they were out of the soup. Very disappointing and felt like when we ordered they should've let us know. The caesar salad was small and nothing special. The bread for the lobster roll wasn't even toasted. Everything about our meal felt careless. Our main was the NY Strip and the chef feast for two. The NY strip was cooked well but everything was over salted. The chef feast for two was smaller than anticipated. The NY and filet were not cooked well and tough. It did come with two sides, we chose the mac and cheese and french fries. Those were better than the meats. My friend wanted to order dessert and when the waiter came back he said the kitchen was already closed. I think we should've been notified like any other restaruant would for any last calls before kitchen close. Everything about our experience felt unprofessional and sloppy. Shires is an expensive place to dine and certainly was not worth it. We all left still hungry and unsatisfied. The only thing good about here is the view.
