Here's a polished version of your review: Marigold has the perfect ambiance for a nice night out, whether it's with a significant other or for a business meeting. The wait staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, which made the experience even better. On top of that, everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious. I would 100% recommend this place.

This place is quickly becoming one of my go to happy hour spots! They have great bites and sips and a good selection of happy hour deals on weekdays until 6 PM. The restaurant is also so beautiful and the bartenders and servers are great.

We had a 6:00 reservation on a Wednesday evening. It was bitter cold out and the restaurant was not crowded. The entire dining experience was top notch. The restaurant is chill and classy. Our server was knowledgeable, helpful, accommodating and had a wonderfully subtle sense of humor. The menu is small, but varied. While everything we ate was superb, there are so many other interesting items on the menu that it only makes sense to come back. My nephew had East Coast Oysters and loved them. He and his wife shared English Carbonara; there was not a single piece of pasta left. They also shared Steak & Chips. The steak was so tender, no knife was needed. I ordered the Short Rib Vindaloo. At our server's suggestion, I asked to include a side of chili paste. Dipping my spoon into the paste added amazing flavor to each bite. The Sourdough Naan was tender and perfect for ensuring nothing was left in the bowl. A small bowl of sliced cucumbers, onions and tomato came with the dish. I didn't know what to do with it so I dumped it into the vindaloo. While that may not have been the proper approach, I have to say the crisp, pickled veggies were a perfect addition. This meal was outstanding. Mark had Fish & Chips. I looked at the price and thought, "Oh my!", but my shock was quickly calmed by the massive pieces of fish that arrived at the table. The fish was perfectly, lightly breaded and was flaky and delicious. Another great meal. Dessert. Don't miss dessert! My nephew's wife had the Lemon Posset. Our server recommended this dessert as the lightest offering. We all tried it and wow! Amy told our server it was so good she wanted to lick the bowl. My nephew and Mark both had Sticky Toffee Pudding. I swear my nephew was in tears. He said it was the best dessert he's ever had. I had a taste of Mark's. Be warned, it is extremely sweet, but also fabulously delicious. I had Affogato over which espresso was poured. While it wasn't stated on the menu, a quick google search confirms affogato is gelato smothered in hot espresso, so there you have it. Mark and I both had an NA Weihenstephaner. I said it was 'spicy', which threw everyone at the table until I explained it was spicy like holiday spice - clove, cinnamon and the like. Not sure that's what is in it, but it was very good. I look forward to returning and trying a completely different meal.

I will start by stating that the Crown Restaurant Group is by far my favorite! Thee most consistent and amazing group of restaurants in cincy!! I've officially been to all of them. I stopped in last night for my birthday dinner and tried the prefix menu and everything was made to perfection. I tried the steak and chips with the Pachadi salad. The salad was so fresh and delicious with a vinaigrette as the dressing. The steak and chips was a little more salty than I prefer but I still enjoyed it. Make note they don't carry steak sauce. The meal ended with a sticky toffy pudding and I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. My mom tried the trout with the mushroom samosa and she also loved her meal. The inside of the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the service was great! We will be back for sure.

I tried Marigold for date night after all the recent hype and they did not disappoint. Overall, most of what we ordered was flavorful. We shared the mushroom samosas and the accompanying mint yogurt chutney was so good. The trout was cooked perfectly although I do wish it had a curry sauce (while I jealously side-eyed my husband's malabar shrimp). Unfortunately, I deducted a star for the sourdough naan as it was a massive fail (absolutely nothing like naan due to the heaviness). Additionally, the chai I ordered was meh. For Marigold's take on Indian, I do wish they offered a masala styled chai with milk. However, they absolutely nailed the sticky toffee pudding. That was heaven in my mouth. I wouldn't hesitate to return to try a few other things and especially if they offered a fish curry.

Love the atmosphere here! Very cozy, darkly lit, classy but comfortable. The fish and chips - best I've ever had! Unbelievably crispy and crunchy! I couldn't believe the crisp factor. Very large portion easily shared for 2. The veggie curry - fine. I will go to my local Indian spot before I get this again. Bread and butter - tasty. Would prefer the bread to be more toasted and less char grilled. It had grill marks but was still soft/not toasted. Treacle butter was great. FYI the spicy ramekin is an up charge, as is naan. Service was fast, attentive. No reservation and no wait on a Friday night. Would return

Interesting concept. I loved the look and feel of the place. The cocktails were top tier, I had the old fashion and it was outstanding. The bread service was basic. We split the Pachadi salad was very flavorful and a nice start to the meal. From there we split the Vindaloo which was very basic and honestly bland and not much taste. The Saffron Rice saved the dish. I think I need to give the place another try but I'll skip the Indian inspired dishes. I was expecting a bit more, and I left underwhelmed. My dinner companion loved it for comparison

This place is beautiful As soon as you walk up there are marigolds sketched in the window Our server was do sweet and our waiter Steve made the night better He loved my hat The interior of the restaurant is fabulously decorated the bar is great and the painting on the wall is exquisite Now the food started with Batada Vada potato and onion fritters with apricot chutney I could eat the chutney everyday I got the cottage pie which is comfort food 100 percent and my sister got the butter chicken with naan Excellent choice all the way around

We celebrated our anniversary at Marigold and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The evening started off with complimentary sparkling champagne, which was such a thoughtful touch. We each ordered a cocktail-- I had the Mango Lassi and my partner had the Stirred Bird. Both were complex, balanced, and genuinely delicious. For our appetizer, we had the Prime Beef Tartare. It was incredibly tender and practically melted in our mouths -- truly a must-try. For entrees, we ordered the Lamb Shank and the Malabar Shrimp Curry. Both were phenomenal. I'm so glad I didn't let some of the negative reviews about the curry sway us. Yes, it's lighter than a traditional Indian curry, but this is a British-Indian restaurant, and the flavor profile reflects that beautifully. It was fragrant, nuanced, and absolutely worth ordering. We finished with a lemon dessert that was bright, refreshing, and the perfect end to the meal. Overall, Marigold exceeded our expectations in every way. Thoughtful service, excellent cocktails, and creative dishes that deliver-- we'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous restaurant, excellent menu and food quality and the staff is super nice. We spent a few hours on Valentine's day at Marigold, inhaling the delicious food and sipping on yummy drinks. My favorite was the Malabar shrimp curry and the steak ans chips. The lemon dessert was so delicious and light.

We csme here on Fri evening with a reservation and were seated immediately. We easily found street parking. We ordered dishes the share family style. My Favorite dish was the pachadi salad (had a delicious mustard-based dressing) and scotch egg with a flavorful cooling cucumber sauce. The lamb shank had a food portion of tender meat, but could have used more flavor, and the curry was too salty, although the shrimp was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the batata vada (came with 5) based on others'rave reviews, but I now regret not trying the chili paneer instead. Lovely ambiance, and the dishes were well paced.

First off, the restraint is really pretty inside. It's a huge space! Went with a few friends on a Thursday and was pretty slow. Service was adequate, friendly, but a little on slow side. Nothing that bothered us that much. Overall food was pretty good with a couple little hiccups. We started with the paneer and mussels. We all thought those were by far our favorite dishes of the night. Paneer was out of this world, I could have eaten that for my meal. Mussel sauce and sourdough were delicious. I had the butter chicken which was a bit disappointing. I know others have commented on it same but chicken was an awful texture. Sauce was decent though. My friends had the steak and shrimp curry. Curry was food but steak was so tender. Chips were a little underdone to my liking. Overall I'd go back to try some other things and just for paneer. Again, amazing!!

We came here for our 9th anniversary. We both love Indian food and fish and chips, so thought we'd give it a try! The location is easy to find and the ambiance inside is so cool. I loved the open space, paintings and overall decor! The service was also great- our server was helpful and personable. We ordered: Drinks: pim's cup (rec'd by server- husband approved!) Starters: Batada vada Mains: fish and chips + butter chicken Dessert: sticky toffee pudding The batada vada was delicious - I was a huge fan of the consistency and overall taste! The fish and chips were delightfully crispy and savory with a side of mushy peas- I'd never had before and found them interesting, but in a good way. The butter chicken was just ok- my husband and I both agreed that next time we want Indian, we'll go to maya or aap. That being said the sourdough naan was great! Star of the show was undoubtedly the sticky toffee pudding (I don't eat sweets but had a bite and was immediately sold by the delicately sweet + savory balance - YUM) We might come back just for dessert

Maybe the waitress was new, but she took forever to come and help us, our glasses stayed empty, and it took an extra 15 minutes just to get the check. Appetizer None Main Course - Crab cake and toast was a huge hit with my wife. Though she wasn't sure how to eat it and the egg wasn't runny as she wanted, she enjoyed it. - 9/10 - Steak and fries with chimichurri was quite delicious. The bourbon bbq sauce for the fries I highly recommend. Steak was a bit over cooked but tasty. - 8/10 Dessert - Brulé cheese cake was light and fantastic. The berries consisted of 4 blueberries. Would have been nice with a few strawberries or raspberries- 8/10

Our server, McKenna, took great care of us the whole evening. She was friendly, engaging, accommodating, and just did an overall great job. Pro tip, go during happy hour for great prices on appetizers and drinks. The appetizer pricing was so good we were able to order more than planned. We got the duck fat fries, brussels sprouts, and buffalo chicken. The duck fat fries came with a delicious garlic aïoli. The brussels sprouts were just perfect. And the buffalo chicken with some of the best I've had in a long time. I had never had cock-a-leekie before, so I tried that too. It was a nice, warm, comfort food. For our entrées, several of us got fish and shrimp. It was delicious and the tartar sauce and cocktail sauce sauces were perfect. The highlighter of the evening for me was my mocktail. I noticed the drink menu had a cucumber elderberry drink, but I do not drink alcohol, so I ask if they would be willing to make something like it as a mocktail. It was genuinely one of the best mock tails I've ever had. It was so good. I asked if the bartender would mind sharing what she did so I could make some version of it at home. She happily obliged and wrote it down for me. Overall, a wonderful experience that will definitely have me recommending Nicholsons to friends and family!

I looked at the…read morebusiness hours of according to the hours posted on yelp so I made it a point to be there at or after 11 AM. The place was busy as heck and it was a little challenging to find parking because it's part of a strip mall and other restaurants on the strip. Also need places for their customers to park. I found out when I got there that it turns out for St. Patrick's Day specifically they open at 8 AM instead of the normal 11 AM. Consequently, the entire restaurant was full, all seats were taken, even at the bar. And because they had Entertainment, starting at 9 AM. They started charging a five dollar cover charge. Not really a big deal when you consider they had a couple bins of live entertainment as well as a DJ who serviced the outdoor seating area later in the afternoon. At the entry table there were a couple T-shirt designs for sale at $20 each as well as free bead, necklaces, gold or green. I was told that at the very beginning at opening they also had little green hats, but I was too late for them. Browse around, everyone was having fun, talking and music was pretty loud, but it was a fun vibe. Eventually, I found a single little table in the outdoor seating area. It's included in some sort of Long tent assembly, which I think is a metal frame covered by a tarp or what almost looks like denim material. When you look across the bottom of the material all the way around the perimeter, you can see the wind blowing in there underneath. In the outdoor exterior seating portion, there were four of those tall large heating elements, but even though I was merely two or 3 feet away from one I only got a little bit of the heat from where I was seated. It was welcome, for sure, but wish I were warmer. Lol. Coincidentally, I also made the mistake of only come in with a hoodie. Again, I thought or assumed they were opening at 11 AM so I thought I'd easily find a spot inside. Also coincidentally it was cold as heck, so cold that sometimes when I talked, my teeth were chattering, and I could see my breath as I spoke The waitresses were great, and the ambience was pretty cool. They had a special St. Patrick's Day menu and from the drink menu, I ordered an Irish coffee, and part to stay warm, and something that was a 50/50 combination of two types of Guinness beer. The game plan to have a hot beverage along with a beer seemed like a good idea initially but then sometime during the meal I switched it so I was drinking the beer, faster than I was the Irish coffee, so the plan backfired when the Irish coffee soon cooled off. Lots of awesome stuff on the menu. I think a little of the pricey side, but I can look past that if I go for a special occasion. Although I wanted to order most everything on the menu, I ended up getting Irish eggrolls (I'm told it's hot seller), and corn, beef and cabbage (you know, because the St. Patrick's Day) both were delicious. I always trim off the pieces of fat off the outside of the slices of corned beef, which I must say were extremely lean, which I appreciate. The cabbage was delicious and I wish there was a lot more with it. And if I'm not mistaken, there was mashed potatoes along with it. Kind of shaped like an upside down bowl like they do in Asian restaurants. It had a delicious, homemade horseradish sauce, and I had to order an extra little cup of it on the side, so I had enough. The Irish eggrolls were delicious and kind of reminded me of a Reuben sandwich, just in eggroll form. The waitresses looked great in there uniforms and were real troopers considering how freaking cold the weather was. If I remember, one of them was wearing jean pants, while another was wearing warm leggings. Bad props to them for braving the weather to serve us people in the outdoor seating area. We appreciate you and your hard work! While seated outdoors, a woman came around and they were doing some kind of drawing that you could participate in. Something like, "win the pot ". Restrooms were fine. I can only speak for the men's room obviously since I went solo. Overall, a fun time. Live entertainment. I think they were supposed to be dancing girls, but I didn't see any. I think it was when I was focused on eating and staying warm. I did manage to catch a guy doing bagpipes though. That was cool. I don't know if she worked for the restaurant/pub, but there was a woman going around offering these little adjustable rings to all the women around the restaurant. That was a cool touch. They look like little gemstones. A definite recommend!
