A gem. First visit, a "million questions", and he answered every single one like he was hosting a Food Network show just for us. Drinks: "Ah yes... civilization." My husband's term for "yes, they do have beer! ". I ordered the Espresso Martini. They ask: creamy or dark? I chose dark because I like my martinis the way I like my humor. It was flawless. We skipped appetizers because we like to live dangerously. Seafood Pasta: This dish came with so much seafood I started checking for a Coast Guard warning. Mussels, clams, shrimp, lobster, basically an entire cast of Finding Nemo. Flavor was incredible. I just needed a few more noodles to keep the peace between carbs and protein. 1855 Prime Filet & Brussels Sprouts: Let's talk onions. Some restaurants give you three sad little onion scraps like they're being rationed. Marc said, "No, no take ALL the onions." Do you see the picture of the Brussel sprouts? We'll look at the top of the photo.... Under that glorious pile was a perfectly cooked medium-rare steak. No photo because my husband attacked it like it was the last steak on Earth. Had a work dinner at Marc last night and I would say the overall rating of 3.5 I'd pretty spot on. Not having that option I gave a 4. I would say service was good but not exceptional. We had several apps for the table the Seared Tuna was by far the table favorite. I had the seafood pasta seafood and pasta cooked very nicely but the white wine sauce which was actually a white wine cream sauce was very heavy for the dish. My now fiancé and I got engaged at Chateau Elan the weekend before last! For our engagement dinner, he had a reservation booked at Marc Bar & Restaurant. The restaurant is inside the winery, across the hall from the bar where we did our wine tastings earlier in the day. At 9pm, we entered Marc and were seated promptly. After perusing the menu, we ordered several things. We started with the fried green tomatoes for our appetizer (which were the best we've ever had! Every element came together for a truly amazing dish). Next, we each ordered a cup of the soup of the day (our waiter had said that it was seafood soup, but we found out after tasting that it was some kind of beef stew. My fiancé is a pescatarian who hasn't eaten meat in several years, so it was quite the shock. Our waiter checked with the kitchen and apparently they had just run out of the seafood and replaced it. Our waiter apologized and offered to bring another option). My fiancé went with the Caesar salad, which was classic--apologies for me forgetting to snap a pic of it. I still ate the soup, which was very yummy. The meat was so tender in it! The complimentary bread brought to our table (we asked for a couple more baskets) was so simple but incredible, with an orange honey butter. For my entree, I got the seared scallops from the starter section. They were so soft and flavorful. My fiancé got the blackened snapper pappardelle, which was very tasty as well. For dessert, we decided to go with something we couldn't get just anywhere, so we chose the orange poppy dessert. It was so unique and special. We had the best experiences in service at Marc's Restaurant! Cannot speak highly enough about our waiter! Located in the winery castle, they have a patio space for a lovely brunch and a full dining area with bar for dinner. Our favorite of the restaurants on the Chateau Elan grounds is Marc Restaurant & Bar. Here you can dine in the winery castle at this restaurant with their southern-inspired chophouse and brunch fare. We had brunch here on the first morning and loved it. It has something for everyone from the spicy and sweet hot honey chicken biscuits or my favorite the duck confit hash loaded with potatoes, fried onions, and savory egg. John opted for the stellar sweet crunchy waffle board loaded with fruit, nuts, chocolate and whipped cream, then drizzled with syrup. For dinner on our first night, we enjoyed the best dining experience at the Marc Restaurant, as well. We started with fried green tomatoes that are crunchy outside and tender inside. It is paired with a delicious spicy jalapeno ranch sauce and some funky goat cheese. On top of that we tried the BBQ braised short rib, a sweet barbecue pulled short rib on top of a tasty baguette, rich balsamic and a sweet and tangy tomato jam. Plus, the Herbist floral gin cocktail is refreshing and light. Floral and herbaceous green chartreuse, a hint of honey, sage, and lime. The main courses we tried at Marc's were the tender grilled lamb chops and the perfectly cooked ribeye steak. The lamb chops were my favorite, thick and tender, seasoned lamb, that is one of the best I've had in a while. The ribeye steak is again, perfectly cooked and seasoned! They send out a bunch of sauces for their meats and I really enjoyed the tangy and spicy horseradish cream and herbaceous chimichurri for the lamb and the rich demi for the steak. On the side, I got the brussels sprouts that are tender, sweet, but have a kick on the end and the flavorful, rich, braised collards. We ended the night with the delicious, sweet, brown sugar port they make at Chateau Elan. And we can't get over the service at Marc's! It was perfect. read more

My Bestie surprised me with dinner here and it was really nice. The staff and waiter was very attentive. The drinks (Lemon Drop Martini), Fried Green tomatoes were seasoned well and good. I had the snapper, it was bit on the crispy side but really good and filing. I wish it had more of a cream sauce as it set on a bed of noodles which, which I do recall seeing in the description. SLOW! INCOMPETENT. DISORGANIZED. Apparently this restaurant is hit or miss so take your gamble. After reading tens and tens of reviews it seems service and food may either be good, or service may be slow and food mediocre. I took my gamble tonight and I lost. My party of 5 had a reservation at 8:15p. We were seated at 8:45p, and food arrived at 10pm. Restaurant was not crowded and there was no logical or reasonable explanation offered for the slow service. When food finally arrived some dishes were cold. Is the slow service due to lack of organization in the kitchen? Mishandling of groups? Understaffing? Or lack of care or attention to minorities and younger patrons? I don't know. The ambiance was great. It's soon as you walk into Château Elan on the left side. I went in for a wine tasting and had reservations about 8pm. I was about to speak with the staff to move up my reservations as I finished with the wine tasting a bit early. They are big on knowing if you have a special occasion. The table for two is fairly small and packed with menu's and plates I just asked the waiter to remove a few items that weren't needed. Overall the food was great the only dish I did not like was the macaroni & cheese. Everything else was great even down to the bread. This literally was the worst experience in my entire life!!!!!!! I am still in shock, hurt and shaken to my core, I pride myself on giving detailed and honest reviews, and I advise you to read this one in full. We were greeted kindly and the kindness stopped there. It took the waitress a long time even to come over just to take drink orders. They said that there were some large parties in front of us, but at the end of the day what we saw was that they were understaffed and this had been the case at each other restaurants throughout the resort. This place is reservation only so they should've been prepared for the guests that were arriving. We waited for our food for over an hour and we were very much getting upset. When they finally bought the scallop appetizer, it was actually delicious.... But nothing else came. The table next to us asked us how long we have been waiting because they were getting upset as well and we informed them that we have been waiting over an hour. They came after us and had been waiting a similar amount of time and were voicing their frustration because they were starving . When the food finally came, it was a complete battle because nothing was right. All three of the people that ordered steaks were not happy with the way that steaks were cooked. My friend ordered the $150 wagyu, which did not look like any I'd ever seen and we've had plenty. Instead of the manager trying to fix anything she came over an initiated an argument, saying that it was wagyu and telling them their food was cooked right . It was truly shocking and unbelievable with the the back-and-forth. Her customer service was horrendous!! The fish in my dish was ok, but nothing else was really good about it. Needed a ton of salt and pepper. The lobster my friend had wasn't cooked through and he was very upset. At the end, my friend said just take everything back bc she didn't even want to eat anything . The manager rudely said she will have to pay for the two sides that she did not consume . Please see video. Never in my life at a supposed 5 star restaurant have I had a manager aggressively tell you that you have to pay for something that you didn't eat. She left and the rest of us paid for our food. As we were leaving the table next to us had saw the argument with the manager and they were conversing very kindly and asked us what happened . when I turned around the manager was behind me saying that I was bothering the people and she had already called the police. The people at the table said no, we engaged with her and was asking her questions and we were just chatting. The Manager was mad about the whole situation and called the police and tried to have me charge with criminal trespassing. I could not believe it. I'm still in shock and heartbroken by the cruelty. I was shake to my core! Never in my life have I been in any kind of trouble with the law. Needless to say we left but I started video recording for my protection and safety and have the video footage of the people saying that I did not bother them and they asked us a question when we were on the way out the restaurant. When I told the police that I didn't do anything, he said " this is Georgia, you don't have to do nothing". What??? My rights were severely violated. All I can tell everyone is never ever go here! It was the most harrowing and disturbing experience of my life. The night manager is a special kind of cruel to treat someone so poorly, and then threaten to have them arrested for just being unhappy with the food and service. Sexy ambiance, sexy servers, not sexy food. I had a salad that was spilling over its too-small plate, making a mess on the table. I know that it was meant to be a polite gesture, but I felt like a freaking slob when the server brought a damp napkin over, moved my plate, and wiped the table down. BUT the salad (I added salmon on top which turned out to be a very generous portion) was delicious, and my spouse's ribeye with broccolini and fries were also very good. It would be nice if there were more options for sides at lunch because that was it - two pieces of broccolini and some fries. The cost is atrocious (my lunch salad with the salmon was $40) but it's a resort and I totally get that that's built into the cost. I'd made a reservation for lunch figuring that a Saturday during the holidays would be busy with parties, wine tastings, weddings etc .. but when we walked in, I almost thought that it wasn't open yet. There was nobody there, like crickets and tumbleweeds. The hostess was gorgeous and friendly and said we would've needed the reservation regardless, which I didn't quite understand since there were 3 servers, 0 tables occupied. It did get busier the longer that we were there. She'd asked if we were celebrating an occasion (even though I'd already filled that in on the reservation) and I told her it was my 3 year "cancerversary" so it was thoughtful for the server to bring us a bottle of champagne wrapped up to-go rather than serving us a dessert or a drink because I really wasn't feeling booz-y at lunchtime. Of all of the restaurants on the property, this one I would definitely return to. I recommend making a reservation here if you are coming for dinner. It tends to get slightly busy, especially on the weekends, but you can still do a walk in during the day. This restaurant is at the heart of the Château élan building, behind the famous girl water fountain. It's kind of hard to miss, and it is separate from the actual hotel. This is probably my second time coming here and I have to say they don't know how to make desserts well. It looks amazing but the flavor is just lacking. The chocolate torte was absolutely bitter yet rich at the same time. The crème brûlée was mid for lack of better words. If you're going to charge $14 for a dessert at least make it enjoyable. Another thing I noticed about this restaurant is there champagne glasses have disgusting residue on them. I'm pretty sure mine had snot on it. When I complained to the hostess, she just said that it's an ongoing problem they have they don't know why. YIKES! The steak itself was cooked properly, but lacked flavor. The broccoli florettes that came with my steak had a chard taste, but no seasoning. I also ordered a chicken salad, but it was not picture worthy. The chicken on the salad was so dry and tasteless, I I started to regret paying the extra $18 add-on for a chicken. The salad dressing was the star of the dish. There was barely any mixed vegetables in there. I didn't like that my house salad came with only spinach, walnuts, and apples, on top of that the lackluster dry, unseasoned chicken. My french fries had more color than that chicken. Thank God for table salt, and pepper. The chicken & Salad also came at separate times. The highlights, and only thing I really enjoyed this meal was the shrimp bruschetta . The shrimp was beautifully Cajun, seasoned with tomato, and the vinaigrette was delicious. I just wished the bread was warm and toasted. The bread was slightly hard. Now that sounds a little crazy, but if you are going to Château élan, and you want good filling food I'd recommend the golf course club restaurant or Irish paddy's. This restaurant was only good for one thing and it's the fact that its right next to the winery. You can actually buy wines to go, do wine tours, and wine tasting. Its also the most instagram worthy area in the whole resort. You would think they put their BEST restaurant here! I promise I tried so hard to like this restaurant so hard, but it was just not it. I absolutely love the sunroom area. I love the atmosphere outside of the restaurant building however, the food was just not giving. This is also where they hold their annual wine festivals. Went here for my mom's birthday this past weekend. We had a party of seven. It took over an hour to get our food some of which was cold but we dealt with it. We didn't have them remake it because we didn't want it to take another hour to get food again. I ordered a Mac n cheese no bacon because I don't eat pork. The manager came to check on us and I had her check the Mac because I thought I saw bacon. She told us it was just breadcrumbs. Only for there to be bacon in the Mac. Oh man, I wanted so badly for the reviews to be misleading but they are accurate - this place simply isn't good. We had reservations on a Friday evening for dinner. We were quickly seated and served promptly which is great. But the food was not good at all. I ordered the cheddar biscuits as an appetizer. They were burned, hard and literally ice cold. Sent them back. Pretty sure they just popped the burnt biscuits we initially got in the microwave and put them on a new dish. They were terrible. But considering it took over an hour to get our food, I ate them because we were starving. I ordered the 8oz filet and whipped potatoes. Both bland and left a lot to be desired. We also ordered the maple whiskey salmon and Parmesan fries, no Parmesan. These are literally fries you get in a hospital cafeteria. The fries were the only thing we ended up finishing before we decided to get the bill and head to Chick-fil-A for dinner. After doing the wine line tango 7 times at Chateau Elan. We went over to Marc Restaurant for dinner! Now the restaurant is gorgeous! I ordered the blackened salmon, honey Brussel sprouts and whipped mashed potatoes! Everything is A la carte!!! So, for $38 I got just the meat and a little garnish! Now, nothing and I mean NOTHING makes me madder then being served lukewarm food!! AND that's EXACTLY what I got! Warm mashed potatoes (that I sent back and they returned the same temperature) and a warm piece of unseasoned salmon! The best part of that meal was the Brussel sprouts. They were delicious! Crispy & Sweet like I like them! My friend ordered a $115 Waygu steak that she said had absolutely no salt or pepper on it. Another friend ordered the creamy chicken soup that she said was too watery. My partner loved her meal... a grilled portobello mushroom, green beans, and a loaded baked potato. So all and all we paid $430 on a lackluster meal.. I'm almost certain I won't be back to Chateau Elan or Marcs Restaurant! Great date night restaurant! Service was good and the food is delicious! The bread service was nice and the butter was sweetened with chives which had a very unique taste! We ordered mussels to start and they are cooked in a delicious champagne sauce. They were tasty and just right. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection. They are marinated overnight and marinated again after being cooked so they are very flavorful- paired great with a glass of red wine. The scallops were light and just right. The potatoe purée around the dish and veggies complimented the scallops perfectly. I had a side of sweet potato fries sprinkled with sea salt.. Trying to cut back on that so i jusr scraped what i could off. But still good. Great staff, very attentive and accommodating. The food was fresh and well presented. I ordered the avocado toast and wedge salad with both chicken and shrimp. The menu is small, but most should be able to find something. The burger with Benton bacon jam sounded great too! The toast was covered in evenly sliced sections of avocado, layered with transparent slices of radish and covered in crumbled cheese. There were 4 large pieces - easily enough to share, but I ate it all. The shrimp on the salad were warm and cooked perfectly. The flavor of whatever they were basted with worked perfectly with the creamy blue cheese dressing. The chicken was also cooked perfect. Both had toothy but not tough texture, were plump and flavorful. The dressing on salad had a hint a dill I think and was fantastic. A plus was the place was empty and quiet on a Friday afternoon. The restaurant at the Inn had en event and noise filled the entire lobby area. Marc's is a short walk across the parking lots - but like the rest of the resort, incredibly poorly signed. There was no wait and we didn't make reservations, we were immediately seated and greeted by our waiter. Sunjathi delivered on an excellent experience! He was top notch and truly anticipated our needs. I had the filet mignon medium and my friend had the bison steak medium. Both were flavorful and delicious. They each came with a chosen side, mine was spicy macaroni and cheese and he opted for the garlic mash--great flavor profile. The plates are garnished with a roasted garlic half which is a nice touch. We split a creme brûlée for dessert and it had a nice, hard shell on top with fresh fruit. Delicious! read more

Another amazing experience at the Chateu. The staff is incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, and helped us make a decision on what to eat and what to drink. I ordered the vegetable ravioli, and loved how the flavors worked together. I thought that the portion was too small, but once I started to eat it, I realized that it was more than enough! My friend ordered the swordfish, and he enjoyed it. They also have a pretty decent selection of beers, which was perfect because my fiend isn't a wine lover and the dessert was amazing! Grand mariner (my favorite liquor) creek brûlée (my favorite dessert) and they gave us some salted caramels. If I'm being honest, caramel isn't my favorite- but I LOVED these salted caramels! Everything here was so delicious and well prepared! My compliments to the chef. The prices were also average for this type of dining, but the added views and ambiance really made for an even better dining experience. read more

We celebrated our anniversary last night with a trip to Marc at Chateau Elan. We had a reservation and were seated promptly on the sun porch. Our waiter, Hassan was professional and pleasant in every way. my husband and I both had filet mignon which was absolutely the perfect selection cooked as we had requested. All the sides were wonderful ( brocolini and baked potato) and large enough to share. Wine selection by the glass was largely Chateau produced. Other whole bottles are available from other vineyards . We would highly recommend this place for a special occasion. read more

We were excited to dine here while staying at Chateau Elan but were highly disappointed. The food was good but the service was horrible got the price. We waited over an hour for our appetizers to come out. Our server had a big party, so it wasn't entirely his fault but for a $600 bill I would hope to get drink refills and decent service. Hopefully management can learn to staff more appropriately. read more
