My car has broken down , I had been in the hospital for the last 4 days. I had no money . While I know this is a business for profit I am sure a lot is thrown away every evening. I have eaten here for years so I was thinking maybe if I ask I could get something to eat. I asked for a manager and a young guy with glasses comes up. I explain my situation and just said I have no money , is there anyway I could get something to eat. He kinda smirked and said no. I thought if any place would help this would be the one. I politely said thank you and walked out. It was already embarrassing enough to have to ask but being almost laughed at like I was a fool made it worse. Needless to say now that I am back on my feet I will never be coming back here again. A little kindness and humanity goes a long way. We all find our selves in bad spots from time to time. read more

We ordered our trays of vegetables to be picked up the day before Thanksgiving and we also told the catering team we needed 30 chicken tenders to pick up Thanksgiving day. John in catering was very nice and told us we didn't have to order the chicken that we could go by and they always had plenty of tenders on hand. Come thanksgiving morning I called before heading over there to find out the best way if they wanted me to come in or pick up thru the drive thru and was told by a not so nice employee that they could not do the chicken they were only allow me to pick up 4 tenders. I proceeded to tell her what I was told by John. I asked to speak to management and she refused. We have been going to Loretta's for years but I assure you me or my family will NEVER give them our business again!!!!! read more

Let's have dinner on the way to shop at the big store.....where to and we already did the What'll ya have. Loretta's Kitchen is up ahead and let's go there. Wow, best suggestion of the day. There is a line inside the store as they had just opened for dinner. No worries. We were new to the self serve cafeteria style. Another WOW, as we scooped vegetables and ribs and chicken and fish and shrimp and steaks and hushpuppies and biscuits and dessert and fruit. Is it any wonder that this place is popular and the Drive Thru is full of cars. Glad we came inside and had very friendly service and delicious foods. For folks visiting Lake Lanier, Loretta's is a place for great country cooking. We enjoyed Loretta's and want to come back again. read more

Second time and probably last time eating lunch from Loretta's. Ordered chicken tenders and meatloaf, cream potatoes and fried okra. Everything was bland, and the "cream" potatoes seemed like instant potatoes with no cream, seasoning, or anything. The fried okra was clearly not fresh, and falling apart. Actually all of it seemed to be under the warmer for at least an hour. I'm very disappointed because the other reviews speak highly of this restaurant and I have yet to get the same experience. I believe the majority of customers are elderly people who don't mind the bland taste, but this is not soulful southern cooking. This is quick buffet cheap food. I guess they go by the saying "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", because they surely aren't hurting on customers. I can see the potential for Loretta's to do better if they would put more effort into making the food fresh and more flavorful. read more

We have ate at Loretta's for years. It has been a favorite family restaurant. The last couple of months the food has been terrible. I am so disappointed. Tonight was the worst!!! Pot roast was extremely salty and pintos were also so salty that you could not eat them. Macaroni was bland and sticky. Charged for tomatoes if you go through the drive thru , but free if you go in. This is the 3rd time that the food was also incorrect when ordered. I am truly disappointed. read more

Loretta's is a community staple in my opinion. I love their breakfast. Their biscuits are huge, they are hamburger bun sized. Not only are they huge but my favorite is Bacon and egg and it has at least 3 eggs and 4-5 strips of bacon . One biscuit is definitely a meal, and then some. You better be hungry! They serve just about anything that you could ask for at breakfast. The coffee is your standard run of mill nothing fancy but still decent. They have really great lunch option it's basically a meat and 2 vegetable plate with choice of bread and several drink options. It's your typical country offerings, green beans, corn, potatoes, etc. I don't get to eat there at lunch as often as I would like as they are on the oposite side of the county from me. I came based on countless raving reviews. This was a complete letdown. I paid $16 for a lunch of pot roast, mac & cheese, cabbage, Brunswick stew and banana pudding. Pricing is on par with most other southern cooking establishments. The 6oz side of Brunswick stew was $3 and the 16oz side of banana pudding was $2.59. Everything is self serve. Pot roast: meat was fork tender and good. Needs a bit more seasoning and needed gravy. It. Seemed like the pot roast was only moistened by broth. Maybe I should've topped it with the brown gravy for the mashed potatoes. The sliced potatoes from the roast were sour. I skipped the carrots because I'm not a carrot fan. Mac & cheese was creamy but not cheesy. At all. There was no cheese flavor whatsoever. The cabbage was heavy on the smoked flavoring but otherwise decent. The Brunswick stew was a bit too runny for me. Flavor was decent and there was an abundance of corn. Read: A LOT of corn. The banana pudding suffered the same problem as the potatoes from the roast a - sour. I can only assume both the potatoes and bananas were soaked in some lemon brine to prevent browning. It did not help the bananas. However, the meringue on the banana pudding was delicious. My experience did not live up to my expectations and I do not think I will visit again. I'm sure they won't miss my business because they were rather busy at 1pm on a Friday. read more

Inside you can walk through a line like a cafeteria. The drive thru is a plus to grab & go. What we ordered was ok. It was a bit salty and a bit bland sometimes. The food was just not good imo. Used to eat there to three times a week when my kids were young, and then the prices got all crazy that's when we lived in flowery branch. And depending on who is at the register, sometimes a meal conscious six dollars sometimes the cost of 11 you get the same thing. And unfortunately the quality went down. The food was ok. There was a lot of hype behind the restaurant so that's why I went. I ordered baked chicken breast, macaroni and cheese, fried okra, cream potatoes, black eyed peas, and a roll. My meal was less than $12. The baked chicken was tender and falling off the bone. But it was basically seasoned on top. Nothing too bad though. The macaroni and cheese was decent. It doesn't seem like it was baked. (See pic) The black eyed peas were really good to me. I like black eyed peas though haha. The fried okra was a no for me; maybe because of the way it was cook. I added hot sauce to mine to enjoy it. The cream potatoes were good. I don't think you can mess those up haha. The roll was good! There is free parking available all around the restaurant. I'm giving this place two stars for the drive-thru speed. Absolutely ridiculous. Don't stop here on your way to work during the week. You will be late. No matter how much time you give yourself.
