Ordered through the First Watch App using my account at 9:12am for a 10:15am pick up. Arrived at First Watch at 9:59am. At 10:30am I asked the hostess to check on my order. When she returned, she asked for my name and said they had an order but didn't know who it was for. They finally brought my order out at 10:35am. I asked to speak to the Manager and he said they didn't know who the order was for. I asked why do I have an active account through their phone app if it doesn't work? We've always had great experiences at First Watch, which is why today was such a disappointment. From the moment we sat down, things just felt off--and unfortunately, it didn't get any better. We ordered the Eggs Benedict with potatoes and the breakfast tacos with cheesy grits. When the food finally arrived, the potatoes were cold and clearly old. You know that grainy, mealy texture potatoes get when they've been sitting around too long? That was exactly it. Just completely unappetizing. Then came the grits--if you could even call them that. There were lumps of potatoes in the cheesy grits, and the cheese was hard and clumped. I pointed it out to our waitress, and she looked like I had just spoken a foreign language and asked if I wanted another bowl. Totally oblivious to the point. I actually had to ask her directly to show the bowl to the cook, and even then, she seemed reluctant and confused. I asked for a salad instead and it was fine. We paid and left, totally dissatisfied and honestly shocked by how far off the experience was from what we're used to here. A manager was not around and I feel that may possibly be the issue. I showed up around 8 and was seated immediately there was no wait. Our server( Mendoza- Santiago) was friendly and very attentive. Our food 10/10 I got the Monterey club with fruit and my husband got steak and eggs hash and he rated it 9/10. Definitely would go back to try their mint mocha that they currently have. I ordered pick up, no on spoke to me or even acknowledged I was there until other people came in. No one up front , when I was finally spoken to I was told to watch for my food. They have a seat beside the pick up orders which is in the back. The bathrooms are around the corner of it too. The place was packed so it seemed they were overwhelmed. My food took 20 minutes past expected time to come out and unfortunately still wasn't very hot. It seemed it was sitting in the back and had not been brought out yet. Went for lunch expecting... something else. Menu had some tasty looking choices. Server suggested soup and sandwich combo. Sounded good. Went with with the cheese melt ham sandwich 1/2 and the Tomato bisque. A diet coke to drink. Portion size was like a kid's meal. Smallish 1/2 sandwich and ramikan of Tomato soup. A tea spoon to consume it with, not a soup spoon. Sandwich was tasty, I'd order it again but full sized. The soup was very Campbell's esque. Tried the donut holes for dessert. Good, and pleanty of them. Ate 4 and took the rest home. The total for all of this, with tip? $26 and change. For a small lunch. I think I'll stay to breakfast here, from time to time. read more

Looked online for a pet friendly breakfast place. Found First Watch allowed pets on their patio. I called ahead to confirm that they were pet friendly, the young lady that answered confirmed that dogs are allowed on their patio. Upon arrival we were seated on the patio. We had noticed a waiter serving on the patio when we arrived. After waiting 20+ minutes we were never visited by any wait staff. Giving up on any service we got up and left. While driving away we noticed that the waiter had returned. If you do not wish to serve people with dogs, tell them so, don't just refuse service. We went to one of the downtown coffee shops and had great coffee and breakfast. Never have I been so rudely treated at a restaurant. I will never darken First Watch's door again and will relate my experience to all pet lovers that will listen. read more

It is a Tuesday during the holiday season, so I was leery to come here based off of my experience at other First Watch restaurants. We had zero issues in Gainesville. Immediately we're seated, server was prompt and food was made better than other restaurants(no picture but I always get the AM Powerbowl. There was more granola and fruit than normal. After enjoying my favorite, bacado omelette, I messed up when paying my bill. I discovered later that I had paid twice. Stopped in the next day and spoke with Greg Henley, general manager. Greg was VERY helpful in resolving my issue. Despite the situation clearly falling in my lap, Greg stuck with me, making contact with the district office and staying in contact with me. The First Watch website states their foundational principles as put others before yourself, go above and beyond for the customer and for each other, and - most importantly - "just be kind."
