This is a great little hole in the wall diner. Their lunch buffet had several meat and veggies as well as banana pudding. The smoked chicken legs and okra were surprisingly good. Not fancy but satisfied our "meat and three" craving. Tea was also good. We will come back again. read more

We stopped by here on a rainy Saturday morning around 9:45. We were the only people in line to order. You can order at the table or counter. We ordered at the counter and took a seat. Within about 10 minutes there was a line out the door. This place reeks old school southern diner. Communal tables with paper towels for napkins. There was a good choice of breakfast items to choose from. We both got two eggs, one person bacon and the other sausage, grits and gravy, home fries and biscuits. The eggs were a little over cooked for medium but everything else was delicious. The biscuits were light and flaky and went well with the gravy. All of this plus tea for $15.25. I've been going to the old house for twenty years and I have never had a bad meal. homemade sausage, biscuits hand made, and the pancakes cover a ten inch plate. the cinnamon rolls are huge and I've never had one that was hard. the fried fish is on point and the all you can eat pork chops are good too. the owners are awsome as well. read more

Great little place to stop for breakfast and lunch. They open at 6:00am with smiles and friendly faces to greet you in the morning. My go to is the breakfast plate with scrambled eggs, grits, bacon, and a biscuit. If I am in a hurry, I just grab the bacon egg and cheese biscuit to go. Any biscuit or plate comes with free coffee. They can get busy, but usually turn out orders pretty fast. If you are in a hurry, call ahead and they will have it ready for you when you get there. Lunch is equally good and very friendly on the wallet. I love the fried chicken livers but pretty much anything else I have gotten has been great. I am going to preface this review with the fact I'm not a huge fan of southern food. This west coast girl turned proper southern belle just never fell in love with the southern cuisine outside of BBQ, naturally :) My husband and I saw this little place while we were driving into Athens one day saw all of the cars in the parking lot and said we'd try it out that weekend. Of course the first thing I did was check the food score because I'm a crazy lady majorly obsessed with food safety! Lol. They have an A rating just FYI! Saturday morning arrived and we stopped by and my husband ran in to get us some biscuits and grits. The little restaurant was hopping! I had the bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and plain grits (just how I like em' no butter no salt!), our 15 month old had a plain biscuit and Bobby got some kind of ham biscuit. The food was good but a little salty for my tastes which is why I didn't give it all five stars. I will say my husband a true southerner absolutely loves this place and wants to go every Saturday for breakfast! So if you enjoy a good southern breakfast check it out! read more

What a great little find tucked away in Statham, GA. Went for my first time last week for lunch. Thursday is evidently "Pork-chop day", and the group I went with were very excited. The place is a very casual and homey place where the frills are few, but the food is spot on. They had pork-chops, chicken tenders, cube steak smothered in gravy, mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, biscuits, potato salad, deviled eggs, banana pudding and a few more delicious looking items I just couldn't pack in. Well worth the visit and I'm looking forward to going back soon to check out their breakfast! Will definitely be heading back for lunch as well. read more

This is a great restaurant. The food is great. Home cooking at its finest. They are open Monday through Friday 6 till 2 and Saturday 6 till 12. They have an all you can eat buffet for lunch during the week with short orders on Saturday. They have the best grilled pork chops on the buffet on Thursday. I'm officially hooked on their Bacon/egg/cheese biscuit. Also serve an awesome lunch. Get anything from Brunswick Stew to Chicken Strips and lots of other menu picks. I went here based on the other reviews (I didn't notice they were two years old) Got there before noon so they should have been in tip top form. Today's meats were dried out, over-cooked bone-in pork chops and dry fried chicken tenders. There were no clean knives for the chops so I tried to chew the meat around the bone which should be the moistest tenderest part. Terrible. The tea was VERY weak, the beans and greens just OK. For $9, I was ripped off. By the time I left, the place was busy with local Army and blue collars so it must have been good once. read more
