We live close by and love that there is a place to go for amazing food and atmosphere!

This bbq place with outdoor screened seating smells amazing from the street and serves as a great advertisement. Service was prompt, although they were out of a list of items, whole chicken, half chicken, green beans, and more. The chopped pork platter was moist and delicious. The sauce is normal but I am partial to Williamson Bros, a sweeter sauce. Cole slaw was good, with the right ratio of seasoning, sweetness, and vinegar. I was not a fan of the yams themselves - tasted canned - although the sauce was good. There was just too much sauce and not enough yams. Very good BBQ. We had the burnt ends with mac n' cheese and fried okra as well as the pulled pork sandwich with mac n' cheese. The food was excellent and the staff was just as good. It's indoor seating but the walls are screens so whatever the temp is outside is what it is inside. Today was about 40 degrees but the food was great, the staff was awesome and the music was cool so it was still fun! We will definitely be back! read more

My mom and little brother came here for a plate of SLICED brisket w/two sides. My little brother got fries and mac and cheese. When they got home and showed me what they got, because husband is an avid smoker, it was upsetting. Firstly the brisket was not sliced, more like chopped. When I took the plate out the bag I had a waterfall of oil spill all over the counter and down my arm. That was a warning in itself that we were served the bits at the bottom of the pan. Now for the food. I always try to judge fairly understanding that the meats were most likely smoked in the morning and this was dinner. Still, even with the two packs of bbq sauce mixed in the brisket was dry. It lacked basic seasoning and of course, was oily. Mac and cheese could have used some more salt, and maybe work on incorporating the cheese in better. There were chunks of cheese and sauce that had separated. Noodles were mush. And lastly the fries, the only thing that was finished. I asked my mom how much she paid for this and she responded $14. For what we got, I say that should be brought down at least $5. The best ribs ever!! My wife and kids stopped in this weekend for dinner. The ribs were seasoned to perfection and fell off the bone. The food is good BUT they are ALWAYS out if everything. Been three times. No burnt ends or rib tips. Out of slaw at a BBQ place?? Seriously? No. Why offer things if you can't keep them in stock. It's not like it was late night last day of service. Was their second day open for the week at lunch!!! I'd stay away. This is my new food obsession right now like for real. Not sure what the deal is with some of these reviews. On our (many) visits staff has always been friendly and the food has been tasty. The only downside in my opinion is that they aren't open 7 days a week lol! My fav right now is the chopped chicken sandwich with original bbq sauce, French fries and the corn puppies (seriously, do not forget the corn puppies!!) These are an elevated take on classic puppies with sweet corn bits added yum they are truly delicious! The chicken sandwich is seasoned perfectly with salt and pepper it's the perfect complement to the original sauce! I've also tried their bbq pulled pork which was also really good and when I want to mix it up I get that. They have an outdoor seating area which is nice in the warmer months when it's cold we usually do take out which is quick and easy. We don't have many great food options out here but I really think this is one of the great ones so go try it!!! In fact, after writing this I'm going to have to pay them a visit it sounds so good!! read more

This is a wonderful little spot in a quaint town. Very cool to be right on the railroad tracks - my son was so happy when the train came by while we ate. We went on Friday evening at around 5:30 and had zero wait, and our food came quick. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and patient. I LOVE that they have so many beef options; we can't eat pork and usually have a hard time finding something we can have at a BBQ place, but they have beef sausage, beef brisket, and beef ribs! A great selection of beer which my husband was happy about. Loved the live music, it was such a nice atmosphere to sit out in the screened-in area and hear a performer. Really all of the food is fantastic. The beef sausage is sooo delicious and I was so happy with my baked beans and baked Mac n cheese. And my husband scarfed down his beef ribs. Really fantastic food. I almost feel like a four star is a little unfair. For the excellence of the food it should be five stars. And you get what you pay for... and we paid a lot, lol. The prices are pretty spendy, I'd love for this to be a local hangout, and maybe if you shared a plate that could work, but it'll have to be a special occasion place for us. I think it's worth the prices - and can't expect less in the times we live in - but yeah, just keep in mind it's a few bucks. And this is a small, nitpicky thing but maybe place some kind of fly traps in the corners of the screen in area? Not a big deal. You sit outside, you expect these things. There was the charge for $53.35 for the food I never received because Edee's cancelled the order. I contacted management and so far, there has been no refund or followup 2 days later. Ive always wanted to try Edee's for the longest since they've open in Statham. Finally pull in 5mins after opening and give it a shot. Bought ribs, brisket tips and chicken. Food was disappointing, it had no flavor but just a smoky taste. Ribs were on the dry side, the chicken got steam inside the foil wrap. Didnt look or taste like "bbq chicken". Brisket tips was okay. I also bought a side of mac and cheese and some bake beans. I didnt get to try the mac and cheese but the bake beans was good and full of flavor. Aside from waiting 5-6 mins for the folks in front of us to make up their mind, service was great and the place was clean. Id like to give it a second go and hopefully get some "fresh" bbq instead of tasting like it was yesterdays left over. read more

It used to be good but occasionally you would find a chunk of fat in the brisket. It was a little dry but had a very good flavor. Since last summer it as gotten worst. Today we went and the briisket had no flavor but was very greasy. My very first bite was a huge chunk of fat. The mac and cheese was also very oily to the point of being soup like. I have never seen oily mac and cheese like this. Neither one of us could eat anything. We just threw it away and left. I suspect this was the end of the meat for the weekend, but when it is that bad it would be best not to offer it. We averaged going there at least 3 to 4 times per month. Not very friendly because business is slow and for good reason. 4 star prices for 2.75 star food. Karokee (not sure if spelled right) on the weekend with awful participants. Bring ear plugs if dining in. After a few beers it wont matter anyway as is obvious the singers had more than that. Also will charge 3+ % for debit card usage. Not right. They will nickle and dime you to death before you leave all the while with a scowl on their face that will ensure a very delayed return to the establishment. Ordered the chopped chicken as I was told they were out of most everything else including the rib tip and brisket. I also ordered the macaroni and cheese, with sweet potato fries. The chicken was dry not moist at all. The 7 sweet potato fries and macaroni and cheese was ok. We also ordered the beef ribs - those were good also ordered coleslaw that too was pretty good. Ok For the price I felt it was high especially with adding in a 3.75% service charge for credit and debit card payments. I understand the added charge is legal in the state of Georgia and at the business discretion but in days of society pushing a cashless stance it seems non-customer friendly with adding a service charge on to the customers. read more

I spent over $35.00 for less than half a rack lighter fluid seasoned greasy ribs, that were cooked I don't know when! and four under cooked chicken wings, potato salad, slaw and two drinks. If that wasn't bad enough they had the nerve to ad a service charge of 3.75% to my bill, what was that all about? I didn't get any service, I ordered it at a window, and I picked it up at a window, they didn't even bring it to my table! So what was the service charge for? So let me start by saying I have driven by this place so many time it's a shame. Was having two tires put on next in town and decided to eat. My meal was two meats and two sides. They weren't busy so my food was ready pretty quick. Let me say this up front everything was eaten as it was served not salt, pepper or sauce was added. The Baked beans were good, not to sweet but they had a great flavor. The potato salad was really good most people screw it up. The potatoes weren't over cooked and they don't try to overload the salad with other stuff. Simple and very well made for my tastes. The Beef brisket was exceptional slow cooked and flavor was on point. Chopped up and served without any added sauce so you can get real taste for the smoke. I love good brisket and this is some great brisket. The pieces were still chunky enough not shredded that's a big A+ for me. I like to be able to tell it was brisket not just random shredded beef. I will go back for more of this. The chicken was the star for me though. They wrapped the half chicken in foil and sent it home like this so it was still really moist. The smoke flavor was amazing, really good things happen when you cook chicken slow. It literally fell apart when you pulled on it. So for $20 this was a solid home run for me. Highly disappointed went here for a work lunch with coworkers, the food is highly overpriced I asked for a cup of water and they charged me for a water bottle then the food came out we were super excited the Brunswick stew is literally tomato sauce that you would put on pasta with meat and vegetables in it. It's not an actual stew. The barbecue sandwich was very bland and mediocre at best. Also if you are using card they will charge you for that as well! read more

So I try to only leave good reviews, however, this just has to be said. We love supporting local businesses, but when we pulled up at 1:00 and the place was empty I should have known something was amiss. I tried to order a burger, as I'm not the biggest "bbq" fan like my husband. They had "just ran out." So I ordered the rib tip 1/2 plate with okra and fries. The hubby got a hotdog covered in stew and a sausage dog, with a side of stew and okra. Tea and water to drink. $36. About 10 mins later our number was called. And then....no bbq sauce. AT THE BBQ SHAQ. That serves mostly bbq....that actually NEEDS THE SAUCE! And you didn't think to mention that before I spent $36? Hubby asks for ketchup for the hotdogs and fries, they say how much? He says I don't know, a lot. Employee walks away and comes back and says did you say 2 packs? Seriously? Garlic parm fries were good, but the rest....mediocre at best. They should have just turned the "open" sign off. Sadly we won't be visiting again. read more

So very disappointed. We stopped in one evening on our way home to share a sandwich. I've been to Edee's place and liked it. Waited 40 minutes for a sandwich and coleslaw. Get in the truck and open the box. There was maybe 1/2 cup of BBQ. That's being generous. $9 is a little ridiculous. No sharing that BBQ slider. Coleslaw was good but not worthy of $9. Only saw can drinks and bottles of tea or lemonade. So no refills? Who it's BBQ and doesn't try to wash it down with a 1/2 gallon of tea. The setup is cool but definitely all for show. read more
