Great BBQ is made here! I had a pulled pork sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. Not overly smokey, but definitely smoked pig. The meat was tender, lean, and very nicely flavored. The appear to be very careful to use only quality meat. The bun was great too. My wife commented on how much she liked it. We thought that the banana pudding was as good as we have ever eaten. The Brunswick stew is amazingly good. We took home a pint and the next evening we had it on top of rice for dinner. I think it's really good. BTW my wife doesn't like to go into many BBQ places since you can come out smelling smoked... The place is an old Chevrolet Dealership that's been very neatly turned into a nice looking restaurant. ...and it's not smokey... So on a BBQ Joint scale, the ambiance here is a 10. She was also impressed with the way the place looked. The folks who served us were as nice and friendly as anyone could expect. My wife who is really not a fan of eating BBQ outside of our house, actually suggested that we take the convertible out and drive over for BBQ sometime. Traveling the backcountry to Ellijay, Georgia and we saw this and knew we had to stop. Being a farmers girl. Ambiance is like walking back into a mom & pops bbq spot. Very classic themed! On a road trip and towing an RV, we always look for BBQ "Joints" that have parking for the rig. We scored a street parking spot long enough and glad we did. The pulled pork was delicious, juicy and great smoke flavor. The Brunswick Stew was like I grew up with except a bit more vinegar. Sauces were a good variety. I had to get someone to drive me there because I had just had a total knee replacement surgery and we sat at the bar area while we waited on our orders to get ready and chatted with the waitresses and manager. The order arrived which I had gotten it to go so it's in sacks. When I got home 2 of my sides were missing and my tea so I had to call them and instead of giving me a credit back to my debit card they only write it down for you to get another visit and that was in February 2025 and I still haven't been able to get back there to get my food. I love the ribs and chicken plus the stew is really good. I'm do not like the coleslaw or potato salad mainly because I love the traditional southern style so you might like it. The country style vegetables are good though. The chicken and dumplings are really good if you get them the day they are made and not when they been in the warmer all day and then the next day put back out again and reheated. They have live music occasionally too. It's a great place to have family gatherings, business luncheons, wedding receptions etc. The building used to be the Chevrolet dealership, parts department and garage where they worked on your vehicle which is the dining room now and the bar is where you got your vehicle parts and the front part closet to the back used to be the show room, sales offices and bookkeeping department. They made a cool transformation from that to a restaurant. If you haven't eaten here I encourage you to come by and check them out. They're closed on Monday and Sunday is pick up only so come by Tuesday through Saturday to dine in. The owner is a super nice man if you don't see him and want to tell him what you think of the building and the food just ask them and he will gladly come out and talk to you and he's just a good ole boy, down to earth and is as nice as they come. read more

After hearing the hype for years, I can say I understand it. I don't know what took me so long to come down here but it was worth it. I got the BBQ plate with stew and Cole slaw. I am very picky about my slaw and I have no complaints about this one. It had the perfect balance of everything. The meat was also great. The array of sauces was something I had never seen at many other places and I enjoyed trying ones that I don't get often. Our waitress (I didn't catch her name) was super sweet and accommodating. Having seen this building my whole life, it was cool to see it transformed into a restaurant. The decor and atmosphere was perfect for the type of food they serve. Stopped by here after reading all the good reviews. The place is about 20 minutes from Athens located in an old car dealership. We were welcomed and told to sit anywhere. We placed our drink order and was brought our drinks along with a small bag of chips to munch on. I got ice tea and they brought a pitcher to refill myself. Fairly simple menu to order from with chicken, brisket, ribs, and pulled pork. Sides were beans, slaw, and endless stew. We got the beef brisket with the stew, beans, and slaw. I had the rack of ribs with a biscuit and green beans. The green beans and the biscuits were good. I also thought that a couple of their bbq sauces were above average. I didn't care for the ribs at all. I've never seen ribs with so much fat on them. They don't look anything like the ribs in the photographs from other reviewers - those looked good. They didn't taste good either. My advice is to ask in advance how much fat their ribs have on them. That being said, I imagine I would like most of the other menu items they have. I won't be ordering the marinated cabbage salad but I'd be willing to try everything else at least once. read more

My wife raved over the pulled pork. The half chicken breast meat was a bit dry but overall tasty. My wife who is a light eater got into the banana pudding, loved it and there was none left for me to even get a taste! We ordered online, order was up on 20 minutes. First off, let me say that the people working and serving in this restaurant are very pleasant, and gave very good service. And it's clean, so was the bathroom (I always say a clean bathroom means a clean kitchen). That being said, the food is absolutely TERRIBLE. Everything is canned. Canned slimy string beans, canned tasteless baked beans horrible rolls and bread that was that factory bread that's like cotton. The peach pie was made with CANNED PEACHES! In Georgia,​ that's practically a crime. The brownies were cake mix. The meat was dry and with no flavor. And the BBQ Sauces were off the shelf type. And there was some kind of stew that looked like dog food​ and smelled bad. I didn't dare even taste it. Even the water was unfiltered and tasted like chlorine. I had family visiting from up north and wanted to show them a good ol' Georgia BBQ. I felt really terrible that they were subjected to that food. The food was worse than in the worst fast food places, but the prices were extremely for this area and for such poor quality food. I spent nearly $60 (before the tip) for just 4 small meals (which we couldn't really eat much of) I felt bad for the people working there, because, as I said, they were all very nice...gracious even. I didn't have the heart to tell them how bad the food was and I gave a good tip because it wasn't the server's fault that the food was terrible. But I will not be going back to that place. read more

I drove by this one day and it wasn't open. It's only open three days a week. But heck, it must be because they take the rest of the days of the week to cook the food! Food that good is worth waiting for. I had the pulled pork and tried the various sauces available. Yummy! And they have my favorite raspberry vinaigrette salad dressing! Had catering ordered for my sister's wedding. Placed the order weeks before the wedding day. The food was supposed to arrive at the agreed time of noon at the venue, a venue they have delivered to before. We were told to text a number for an update. At 2pm, still no food. Texted the number, no response. Finally got in touch with G Brand, they had talked to the coordinator and were going to deliver at 5. Had the ceremony and pictures, still no food. Got in touch with AGAIN. Then we get told they had set up at a venue in Athens. How do you screw that up, especially with a venue they have delivered to before??? We had a packed venue with hungry guest and nothing to eat. The bride was very upset at this point. Luckily a few of the guest were kind enough to GO to the restaurant and pick up the food. Finally at 7:40pm, SIX HOURS after it was supposed to be there, we got the food. This is completely unacceptable. My sister, the bride, was extremely upset and embarrassed. We paid a lot of money and this is the service we get? Honestly if I could give zero stars I would. Absolutely no excuse for the lateness, lack of communication and service. The atmosphere is fantastic the food is great but just as important the staff is awesome and engaging. 6 sauces to choose from. The ribs where great and the Stew is bottomless refills. Working in the area so I'm not local. That being said, it might be good compared to other restaurants in Crawford. However, compared to most BBQ joint it's not great. We tried the chopped pork, baby back ribs, and brisket sandwich; none of which has much taste in its own. The brisket was dry and more like roast beef. The ribs were meaty but meat and grease were all you got; didn't seem to have been dry rubbed or marinated. The chopped pork was ok with enough sauce. As for the sides, they apparently do offer corn although it's not in the menu. The Brunswick stew was good, and baked beans were canned but flavorful. The buns and bread are low quality white bread from a store bought loaf; a cheep loaf. Again, this may be good for the area. I work all over the country and it's low on my list of BBQ restaurants I've tried. read more

The best and most ambitious enterprise I've seen in Crawford in many years. The food is good, the employees are attentive and pleasant, and sometimes the owner will work the room to check on customer satisfaction himself. Get there early if you want beef brisket, because it goes fast! One word of advice, though: if it's a Saturday between 12-2 and you want to dine in, you might want to check if they have live music playing. The building was never intended for that, and even solo semi-acoustic singer-songwriters can be rather loud. Very cool restaurant in an old car dealership. The owner works the dining room in the evening giving refills on the stew. The stew is awesome. We tried a little of everything.
