If you're in the area avoid all those gas station restaurants and come straight here instead. It's worth the money, especially to help a local black owned business. If I could rate it more than 5 stars I would.

It's not a place that you would sit down and eat although he probably wouldn't mind. Mr Morgan is a very nice older man that apparently loves to cook pork. Limited menu, pork by the pound, bbq sandwiches, skins and extra sauce. Get there on Thursday because he sells out quickly and won't have more meat until the following week. The meat was very tasty, moist and smoky. Wonderful pulled pork. I'm not a fan of his vinegar sauce but some folks love that. Good prices for a pound of meat. I'm pretty sure it's cash only.

So let's start with the good: The service was top notch and the restaurant was super clean! The decor is definitely hip and I love to see places like this popping up in small towns. Our server, and likely the owner or at least one of, was extremely attentive, anticipating our needs and checking to ensure we were all set. Great experience in that regard. Now the food: As far as food goes it was good and the prices weren't bad, at least going rate for bbq joints these days. As far as bbq, there is better out there. We don't live in the area so we wouldn't be regulars anyway. If we did live in the area, I'd eat there again but as far as bbq goes, it's not my first choice. The ribs were good. The brisket was a bit dry and a lean cut rather than the fatty cut we asked for. The collards could use a bit of vinegar/pepper sauce, not sure, just missing something to make them hit. The Mac n cheese, I think maybe they were trying for a gourmet flair with some specialty cheeses, not sure. Had I expected that, like something in the description on the menu, maybe I would've enjoyed it more. I'm open to new and fresh spins on classics, but I was expecting traditional baked mac-n-cheese. The Brunswick stew was good but a bit flat on flavor. I added salt. The baked beans... they actually did hit. I can certainly give em that one. The kiddos got chicken tenders and fries and while I didn't try them they did look good. The tenders looked like they would make a delicious sandwich too. The sweet tea was perfection. Overall lunch was good and I do wish the restaurant well. I just think they have a bit of room for improvement.

The collards were on the bland side, but I assume that's so you can jazz it up with either vinegar or sugar for your own preference. I didn't have either on hand so can only say the texture of the collards was what I like. Banana pudding, if you leave without getting their pudding, then you have truly missed out! I got the 16 oz, seriously, I should've bought a tray of it. Doesn't have the "fake banana" flavor, it tastes homemade. 10 out of 10! I'd definitely recommend calling in large orders, because they just opened, it's crazy busy.. after trying the food, I imagine it's going to stay busy for a while.
