Food bland and cold. Just not very good almost seemed like a canned or bagged product just heated and served.

We had the ones with Cajun seasoning which were really good but the garlic fries are seriously over the top. When we return (yes, of course we will return) I think I just want garlic fries. Forget the burger I just want to eat those amazing fries. It's a good burger. Juicy, well cooked. Not overdone. The bread was not my favorite. Why does everyone insist on brioche buns? They don't really work for a cheeseburger. It is still a damned good burger. The only real problem is that it will occupy too much room in my stomach that could otherwise be filled with garlic fries. The dining room is a bit small. Let's call it intimate. The staff are wonderful. Go. Eat fries. Life is good.

Some of the more well known places down here I don't like so much for one reason or another. I have been walking past Clocked for years an never tried it. Well, today was going to be the day! I was seated quickly by a friendly staffer. The vibe here is Athens collage restaurant. Which I like. Rather than a burger today I chose the Chicago dog with some cheese fries. This is not a Chicago dog, the bun was toasted and not soft with poppy seeds. Bit it was good. The fries were freshly cooked, crispy, and hot. Cheese sauce was excellent. I go to a 40 Watt or Foundry show about once a month. I will be back to Clocked again to try a burger. I like this place.

That kind of hospitality always elevates a meal. The onion rings were the absolute star. Perfectly crisp and golden on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned just right. Easily some of the best I've had and worth ordering every time. The burgers were solid and cooked as ordered, and the buns deserve special mention -- super soft, fresh, and a great complement to the patties without falling apart. The pimento cheese, however, was a bit underwhelming and didn't quite deliver the flavor punch I was expecting. Overall, excellent service, standout onion rings, and good burgers make this a place I'd happily return to.

Yes, one may put cheese on the Italian beef, but then it automatically is not "authentic" because it becomes a crossover then. This is not to be a French dip sandwich or a Philly cheesesteak. It's the Chicago Italian beef which is supposed to have four components that must all work together: thin sliced roast beef, the au jus, hard roll/bun, giardiniera. That's it. I thought the sandwich was good, but just not authentic. The beef was a little thicker cut but ample quantity. The giardiniera was plenty hot but scant, so they did promptly bring a side portion for me, the au Jus didn't have the same spice mixture and was more of a French dip than the spicier Italian beef and usually I get mine dunked, so this was just a side dip, but off the flavor of IB. I think the cheese used was Havarti, which is interesting, even though it's not supposed to be there, one would have expected provolone or mozzarella. I also had a couple of onion rings, very heavily breaded, cooked to perfection but tasted like fried chicken more than onion ring. This is not a negative review since the food was good and price/value was also good, it's just that neither item was "authentic" to the original target. I would eat here again in a heartbeat and most definitely order a burger because that is their thing.

I opted for their regular Grindhouse burger that had caramelized onions mixed in with the double patties and cheese. It was sloppy, but delicious. I went in the Farmer's Market first. It looks like an old barn. There were lots and lots of homemade choices- "canned" soup bases, fruits, vegetables, salsas, jams, flavored oils to name a few. There were also fresh fruits, nuts, honey, vegetables, dairy products and cakes. There are four areas you can eat. The main "restaurant" is small with only a few tables. Evidently it's a favorite of older local gentlemen to gather for an early breakfast. There is also the "Pig Sty," "The Chicken Coop" and the farmer's market area. Some of these can be cold in the winter and warm in the summer so dress accordingly. The farmer's market area is heated by a wood stove. The staff here are so friendly. It felt like we were visiting family. The food was good ole country food. The hubby and I each ordered the breakfast plate. I had coffee with my choice of several flavored creamers. If you pay in cash you get a discount. If you are in the area you should check it out. You can order from the breakfast or lunch menu. Plan to stay a few extra minutes and look around and support local farmers. We brought home some boiled peanuts. Fun experience and good breakfast.
