Great burgers but the fries!!!!! The fries are awesome!! The fries came to the table perfectly cooked and fresh. The outside was crisp and the inside was soft. We had the ones with Cajun seasoning which were really good but the garlic fries are seriously over the top. When we return (yes, of course we will return) I think I just want garlic fries. Forget the burger I just want to eat those amazing fries. It's a good burger. Juicy, well cooked. Not overdone. The bread was not my favorite. Why does everyone insist on brioche buns? They don't really work for a cheeseburger. It is still a damned good burger. The only real problem is that it will occupy too much room in my stomach that could otherwise be filled with garlic fries. I was in town to see a show at the 40 Watt. Downtown Athens always has a good meal to be found somewhere. Today I wanted to have a burger. Some of the more well known places down here I don't like so much for one reason or another. I have been walking past Clocked for years an never tried it. Well, today was going to be the day! I was seated quickly by a friendly staffer. The vibe here is Athens collage restaurant. Which I like. Rather than a burger today I chose the Chicago dog with some cheese fries. This is not a Chicago dog, the bun was toasted and not soft with poppy seeds. Bit it was good. The fries were freshly cooked, crispy, and hot. Cheese sauce was excellent. I go to a 40 Watt or Foundry show about once a month. I will be back to Clocked again to try a burger. I like this place. read more

The kids enjoyed it ... that's about it! Visited as a family of 4 (2 kids, 2 adults). We were seated fairly quickly, but that is where the enjoyable evening ended. The service was slow, she got our order wrong, and never offered refills. The kids enjoyed their 'basic' grill cheese and burger. As adults, we sent our food back! The food appeared old, under a heat lamp for hours, as if recycled, probably from taking so long to be served. A main reason I sent my food back was, as we waited for service I excused myself to use thw restroom. After seeing the restroom condition (see picture) and also you can see into the kitchen (it was not any cleaner!), when I returned to my table I could not imagine eating there. The bathroom and kitchen were nasty, dirty floors, dishes, appeared to have no organization. I don't see how anyone rates this place more than a 1 star! read more

On a day date with the love of my life and we decided to do one of our random date book dates. It was Roulette dining! We had to pick a random restaurant we hadn't been to, ask for 2 of our server's favorites and try 1. We got the special, that comes with horseradish and sauerkraut. lol and Cajun fries!!! If you're looking for a fancy burger place this is not your spot. Though the decor is a bit outdated and rustic it makes up for it in service and food. The service is fairly speedy for how busy this place is. My favs to get here are the bacon jam burger over a Greek salad. Their ranch is seriously top tier! Service is typically college kids and they are always friendly and full of info about other places to eat or avoid. I make a good list when I talk with them. Thursday dinner out and about and we chose a place we've never been. We were very pleased with our pick. Great fast service. We had the Bacon Jam Burger and a Bacon Cheeseburger add egg. I was in town during UGA's spring break for a show. We were looking for a spot to eat lunch the next day and with so many options no one could make a decision. We finally settled on Clocked since we were talking about burgers and it was on a list of recommendations from a friend. We arrive around 1:30 on a Wednesday and were told it would be about 30 minutes for a table. There was a record store right next store so we shopped there until our table was ready. Once we sat we placed our drink orders and took some time to look at the menu. They have many vegan and vegetarian options including beyond burgers, tempeh bacon, black bean burgers, falafel, and even tofu hot dogs. We ordered burgers, fried pickles, onion rings and parmesan fries with a ton of dipping sauces. Beyond burgers aren't my favorite but they did it right, not sure what made theirs so special but I really loved the beyond burger here. They had so many different options for toppings, my partner got the one with peanut butter and he really liked his as well. The tempeh bacon had great flavor and were sliced thin. The fried pickles were also sliced thin but covered in batter and really crispy. I really enjoyed how much breading was everywhere, but they were also light and airy. The onion rings were huge slices of onions with the same airy breading as the pickles. The parmesan fries were the way to go. I love fries and the addition of the cheese and garlic really elevated them. I dipped everything in honey mustard and ranch and all the sauces were great. Service was good, food came out fast, and lots of options for drinks including cocktails and draft beers. If you're looking for a burger joint Clocked will not disappoint! read more

My favorite burger out there! I always get the mushroom Swiss and it never disappoints! The fries are crispy and the sauces are a great addition! I recommend the raspberry habanero! The meat is always perfectly juicy, the cheese perfectly melted, and the mushrooms are smokey. Clocked is an eclectic burger joint that caters mostly to the students of the University of Georgia. It is within walking distance of the school, so students are the primary customers, but there are a few families and tourists that stop by to indulge in one of their juicy burger creations. I would have loved to have tried this restaurant pre-covid because I think the owner likes to experiment and offer unique twists to the standby classics as seen by the menus posted on Yelp over the years. However, now the menu board seems more limited. I ordered the Mushroom & Swiss with a side of tater tots. The burger was mouthwatering, not to mention the juices running down my hands. Condiments were on each picnic table, but who needs to dress up something so delicious? Thankfully a roll of paper towels could be found there too along with a spray bottle to clean off the table before and after eating to keep it Covid clean. There is no indoor dining here anymore. They have a side yard filled with picnic tables and outdoor heaters. There are also tables tented to protect from the elements. Clocked expanded their outdoor dining by roping off the four or five parking spaces out front. Tables are now spaced out so you can dine distanced from others. Of course this means you will either have to walk from campus or find a paid parking space on the next street over. The meters are about $1.50 for an hour. The meters take coins, but it didn't appear that you could use an app to pay with your credit card online. It seems like this is a favorite place students come to hangout and get a bite to eat. They like it so much, they bring their out-of-town family members here too. I could see coming back here post Covid after catching a show at the famous Morton or Georgia Theaters or the 40 Watt Club. All are located on the block making for a fun night on the town. read more

They don't really cook burgers at different temperatures but you can ask them to cook it a little on the light side and it will come out super juicy. Was looking for a late night eatery and found this gem. The garlic fries were great. I had the gouda apple grilled cheese which was surprisingly tasty. I love apples with cheese and this had a tart flavor that paired perfectly with the Gouda cheese. Their alcohol beverage menu is extensive so plenty to choose from. Delicious food and a great atmosphere. Located downtown, clocked is a must try. Variety of burgers, sides, and shakes. They also offer gluten free bun options! I got the roasted garlic burger and some fries with Parmesan sauce ontop. Prices are comparable to other restaurants in the area, which I find is a little bit pricey. Pro tip: due to covid they only offer outdoor seating and it is a seat yourself type of style. So if you see a table open, don't be afraid to grab it for your group to sit at! read more

Good burgers! Place is very small in DT Athens. We got the Jumbo Deluxe burger and the Adobo Chicken Sandwich. Jumbo Deluxe burger was so so good and was recommended by the server. Really good flavor and the fried egg complements the burger so well. The Adobo Chicken sandwich was good, but nothing special that I would jump at to order again. Good option if you don't eat beef. We also got the sweet potato fries and regular fries. The sweet potato fries are $3.75. They are good but that's a lot for some fries. Regular fries are about $3. It comes with a decent amount, so sharing one order would likely be enough. I've heard iffy things about the service here but our server was great, luckily. For 2 burgers, 2 drinks (mixed drink and a beer, yes they have a bar!), and 2 fries, the total was $40. Plus tip almost $50. Really good but I don't know if a 2 burger + fries + drinks meal is worth that much. But we had a good experience. read more
