Every few years I give this place a try again and consistently am disappointed. Definitely will never try again. Food is hit or miss. Service is either OK or abysmal. I typically don't write reviews this negative, but I think it's definitely worth avoiding. So many better options for Food and Athens. Wings were burnt to a crisp and so dry you couldn't even get them off the bone. The piece of slow cooked beef I got was all fat and not edible. We attempted to order beer and struck out five times before they actually had one on their menu in stock. The waitress was not aware of what they did and didn't have so just kept coming back five times to tell us sorry that one was out. Literally ended up ordering a corona on draft. That's not exactly what I was going for at a place that prides themselves on a large amount of beer on tap. read more

First off we visited the new Monroe location and they were having a "soft opening". It was busy most of the day and by the time we stepped in we were able to sit at the bar as we walked in. The vibe was 90's grungish industrial theme. They had some clever names on their products and they were some cool mixtures. If you want to try something you have not tried they will provide it. We tried the cheese curds as a starter and they were decent but the rosemary was strong in the herb mix, it's also the same herb mic that comes on the fries. Read the reviews about how great the food was and decided to come here and try it for lunch. It did not disappoint! The wings were great as were the potato salad. I also had the pineapple upside down cake which was kinda small but tasty. My only complaint is the price seems a bit high. But still very good. Service was great too. I had eaten at this location about a year ago when I was up in Athens for work. I was in the area and came back today for lunch. It was just as good as I remember. This place has a great dive bar atmosphere and the servers and bartenders are excellent. We have always left satisfied, but on our recent visit we ordered the chicken/corn nachos and it literally had about 12 chips and possibly a cup of chicken/corn mixture for $21! All the other portions are huge so this was confusing. It tasted great but very overpriced. Hopefully this was just an off day. read more

I'm a little late in writing my review. My husband and I came here for a late lunch/early dinner. We were seated right away. Our server was a bit quirky, but she was great with being attentive. The food came out quick and was delicious. I ordered the filthy fries with pork. Wow! Sooo good and flavorful. I ordered a margarita and it "meh." They have mainly craft beer and standard cocktails. The only specialty cocktails were fall flavors, which isn't my preference. Overall, I would come back to dine in again. read more

Came here about 5:40 Friday, which I get would be busy. But we were seated quickly with no wait, then proceeded to sit outside for about 20 minutes before even getting waters or a server. Once we got a server she was nice but when we ordered we didn't get our food until 7:30, every other table outside had already left at that time. Kitchen must be a chaotic mess. Food want bad but definitely not worth the price for around 20 bucks for small plates. read more

This place is to die for! I loveee the french dip. The fries are the best in Athens. The service has always been efficient and kind. Make sure you don't leave a shitty tip (you never should), but this place has a board with shitty tips they've gotten. I love reading it. These servers deserve to be tipped, as do they anywhere else. The restaurant itself is very laid back and pretty casual. However, the food is worth some good money. Highly recommend! read more

First visit and I would say that this is more of a drinking spot than a food spot. It was probably 20% occupied on this Thursday night. They do have a decent selection of crafts and I did see flights offered in some pictures on Yelp. I asked if they had flights because they were not on the menu and the server said they did so I ordered a flight which consisted of four 4 ounce pour,s. Found out when I got the bill that I was charged an obscenely high $13 for the flight (what equates to one beer!). I've never paid that much for a beer flight anywhere. I ordered the blackened tuna sandwich with a side of potato salad. I asked the server to have them cook the salmon medium, unfortunately it came out rare. The potato salad was very good. The dinner "plates" were wooden painter's palettes - cute, but not very hygenic. read more

Oh boy. This place is not for the unadventurous or those who prefer small portions of bland food. Hubs and I stopped on our roadtrip and luckily we brought our appetites. Even so, I would like to caution the unsuspecting foodie that these portions are huge. We started with the Tater Tot Poutine with braised beef and brown jalapeño gravy. Arrived speedy quick. Spicy, salty, crunchy, ooey-gooey and super cheesy. I opted for the grilled cheese with tomato soup & hubs got the "Chef's Choice" hotdog. The sriracha cheddar bread on my grilled cheese was savory and tasty. The tomato soup was the perfect place to dip that gooey goodness. Hubs' hotdog was a bit disappointing because the chef used the same toppings as the tater-tot poutine. We didn't really want to double down on the poutine, even though it was delicious. Service was speedy, but I do think the server should let the kitchen know what apps are ordered prior to the chef's choice so there's not a repeat of flavors. The place was relatively quiet and comfortable. It's a great place to stop for a meal and a beverage. Bring your appetite! read more

This is my 2nd time here..the first time was AWESOME..I was alone and told the server to give me whatever he wanted...he gave me the "secret chef special"..which was a "Bloody Mary Ramen". The best I ever had! Omg, it was soo good! This time, I brought 4 friends. VERY picky friends. They LOVED it! They think I'm the foodie shiznit! Thank you, Catch 22! We ordered the Porknado, the double double, fish and chips, ramen, filthy fries, sliders, and the chef special burger, which was a burger with pork belly on top! Wow! Just wow! Everyone loved it! Met some friends there for a quick bite on a Saturday evening. They're somewhat regulars and have told me about it but it took me a while to get there. It's a cool little pub with a pretty decent bar selection and food to match. Although the drink menu offers some really interesting options I stick with my Handsome Johnny with Tito's. And it was garnished with a nice piece of candied ginger which I truly appreciate. For my meal I ordered a seared ahi sandwich and chose bacon potato salad as my side instead of fries, coleslaw, or veggies. The sandwich was really good! Ahi cooked perfectly and seasoned really well so you can still taste the freshness of the ahi adding only an influence of seasoning complimenting it perfectly. The potato salad was delicious! Why didn't I ever think to put bacon in mine?? My only downside is the location which is in a small part of the shopping area tucked behind Athens Art and Frame and Little Caesar's.
