First time going to brunch and really enjoyed the egg scramble. Good service and liked the vibe.

Before heading out, we made a pit stop at The Pin.

The Pine is a cute place in a quaint college area. I decided to come here passing through Athens and going back home to Beech Island, SC. The Brinch Menu is fabulous from Shrimp & Grits, Chicken & a Biegnet or creative brunch cocktails and mimosas The Pine will take care of your brunch craving.

Okay, so 4/5... because my standards are high, but it's a 4/5 for what it's trying to be, which is an upscale tapas experience. Honestly, great. Period. We really enjoyed ourselves, cocktails were lovely. It's a 4/5 for minor things (like minorrrrrr), but reason I wouldn't give a 5/5. Clearing plates, should have been faster and letting our drinks go past the 'last' sip. It wasn't a busy Thursday evening, so I wouldn't want to see the service experience if 'busy'. We are intentional in getting tables before 6 pm or after 8 pm at any places similar to just feel... relaxed and not rushed. No pressure for table turns over. We also like bar seats to just... ya know... have the service whenever you need. Special of shrimp bisque also was like 'blah'. Otherwise, hush puppies, I'm not from the south so like 'Meah', the relief with white bean salad and creole sauce was needed. Fillet tips - lovely! Sliders - a little dry but flavours were nice. Brussels - top notch. Oysters - yesssssss! We did their Xmas oysters from Maine wood fire baked and raw - just awesome! We should have got half a dozen of each! We did the goat cheese and prosciutto and 'Meah' on that just because of the amount vs price. There were lots of things I would have tried on the menu. We have adventurous kids and noted we'd bring them on another night. We'll be back for sure! Please go and see for yourself! Try the oysters

Great service and great food! My husband and I ordered the southern Cobb salad and BLT sandwich. The southern Cobb salad comes with chicken salad, bacon, deviled egg, tomato and blue cheese crumbles! I had it with the pecan vinegarette! OMG...soooo refreshingly delicious! The BLT comes with Fried green tomato, bacon, lettuce, house pickle, pepper jelly mayo(yummy) on a brioche roll! Soooo good! The restaurant was quaint can clean. I will Certainly return9.

New Orleans Style Eggs

Great place for brunch in Athens, friendly staffs and quick services. They have the patio seats outside perfect for sunny days. Parking is limited in the back but you can park at Earth Fare and walk over (5mins). I got the Hot Chicken Biscuit (the hot sauce was separately) and my friend got the New Orleans Style Eggs. The chicken on mine was a bit dry/overcooked but the biscuit was good.

I came here for the third Wednesday wine tasting and was thoroughly impressed! For $15, you get 5 wines tastings plus 3 snacks (although the snacks are small). We ended up ordering a flatbread and pimento cheese as well and it was all amazing. The staff was so friendly and helpful.

Love love love this restaurant! My boyfriend and I went on a Saturday night. We got the cauliflower as an appetizer. It was delicious! Lots of flavor. The hot sauce was a little strange - it was pretty thick, but overall a great dish. We split two entrees. We got the salmon and one of the specials (sea bass). Both pieces of fish were perfectly cooked. The potatoes and vegetables that they came with were tasty! I wasn't a huge fan of the dill cream sauce that came with the sea bass but I easily just ate around it. Overall a great dining experience. We will definitely be back!

Started with the Lavender Gimlet, and stayed for the amazing hand-rolled pasta! Yum! I'll definitely be back!

Fish special was a little heavy and not executed well.

Positive points in include the cozy atmosphere, free parking in the back, and friendly staff. My partner's entree of homemade pasta of the day tasted pretty good, though my entree was poorly executed. The fish was plentiful and cooked well, but it was not almond crusted (as described), the other components were half burnt, and it begged for a fresh element. We would consider going back for drinks and trying their flatbread cooked in the wood fire oven instead of entrees.

I've been praying for a solid tapas and wine bar in Athens for years. I've also heard great things about the Pine but never visited until tonight. During COVID they switched up their menu, and they are making my tapas dreams come true. We started with their wood-fired oysters. 10/10. I could've eaten them all night. I'm always on the hunt for good chargrilled or wood-fired oysters and these take the cake for Athens. Bonus...everyday until 7PM they are on happy hour for $1 off. We shared a bottle of wine - also on happy hour. We had a cheese board, gambas al ajillo, grilled steak tips, and the bacon wrapped dates. Any of their cheese or charcuterie come out with an awesome spead of pecans, jam, crostinis, and olives. The gambas al ajillo was delicious and provided an awesome dipping sauce for the bread we had on the table. Bacon wrapped dates. We ordered a second round - enough said. Grilled steak tips...cooked perfectly. So flavorful. We can't wait to get back. Also, Megan our server was greats. We also got to chat with the owner, Scott. He's awesome. Anyone with a passion for bringing great food, wine, and vibes to the Classic City is good in my book. We will definitely be back!!

Service super slow, focaccia was undercooked and doughy. Second time there and won't be back.

We had the ones with Cajun seasoning which were really good but the garlic fries are seriously over the top. When we return (yes, of course we will return) I think I just want garlic fries. Forget the burger I just want to eat those amazing fries. It's a good burger. Juicy, well cooked. Not overdone. The bread was not my favorite. Why does everyone insist on brioche buns? They don't really work for a cheeseburger. It is still a damned good burger. The only real problem is that it will occupy too much room in my stomach that could otherwise be filled with garlic fries. The dining room is a bit small. Let's call it intimate. The staff are wonderful. Go. Eat fries. Life is good.

Some of the more well known places down here I don't like so much for one reason or another. I have been walking past Clocked for years an never tried it. Well, today was going to be the day! I was seated quickly by a friendly staffer. The vibe here is Athens collage restaurant. Which I like. Rather than a burger today I chose the Chicago dog with some cheese fries. This is not a Chicago dog, the bun was toasted and not soft with poppy seeds. Bit it was good. The fries were freshly cooked, crispy, and hot. Cheese sauce was excellent. I go to a 40 Watt or Foundry show about once a month. I will be back to Clocked again to try a burger. I like this place.

I stopped at Brett's Casual American with my service dog, Stormy. The server was excellent -- respectful, professional, and even asked before petting her. He mentioned he used to foster Dobermans growing up, and he clearly understood how to behave around a working dog. The issue was with the owner. He demanded to see "papers," insisted Stormy needed a vest with a visible ID tag, and told me I was "harassing his staff," even though the staff had been nothing but kind. For anyone who doesn't know: under the ADA, businesses cannot require documentation, certification, or specific gear. They can only ask two questions: Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability What task the dog is trained to perform What crossed the line for me was when he reached out and touched Stormy without permission. I walked out immediately. Touching a working service dog is not only inappropriate -- it interferes with medical equipment and puts the handler at risk. It felt like a personal violation, not just a misunderstanding. Most people in Athens are great about this, and I really appreciated the server who handled everything correctly. I'm sharing this so neighbors are aware of the proper etiquette and to help prevent situations like this in the future.

It sounds simple, but it's truly elevated. Right now, the sweet potato brown butter pierogies are absolutely mouth-watering, and the hazelnut bread pudding is rich and a perfect blend of sweetness and cream. The waitstaff is top notch and you'll receive better, more attentive service here than at restaurants with much larger price tags in Atlanta. They also have an impressive cocktail program and wine list. On the "it's the little things" list, the candles 5 & 10 uses in the restroom are outstanding!
