It is a double smash burger with pimento cheese, bacon, jam, and a Black Eyed Pea Bass, just a little and it is delicious. The star of the show is the sauces for the fries. Which is 5-7pm and they $15 bottled wines and $1 off raw oysters. We were promptly seated on the patio when we arrived, given water for us and our pup that had joined us. We started off with drinks and a dozen oysters, let me say these oysters were very good and they give you everything you need to eat with them. I wonder if the saltine crackers are homemade! Our server quickly came over with menus and waters, giving us a few minutes to review the options. We needed some time to review the menu. The beer list was massive; drafts as well as cans and bottles spread across multiple pages. While they don't offer traditional beer flights, they do serve smaller 11 ounce pours. Wifey ordered a couple of those: a Harp Premium Lager and a Bavak Super Wit from the draft list. I went with a bottled Pilsner Urquell and later tried an 11 ounce taster of "Escape Button," an IPA from local Athens brewery, Athentic. We enjoyed all of our choices. The food menu featured classic pub options, but also a few that you wouldn't expect like a Curry Chicken Bowl that I almost ordered but instead I went with the Turkey Club sandwich with no tomatoes and a side salad. Wifey ordered Chicken tenders with french fries. The food took a little longer than expected to come out and when it arrived my sandwich still came out with tomatoes. I did not make a big deal about it and picked them out. My sandwich and salad were actually very good and Wifey said her meal was also very good. While hanging out in the dining room we noticed some original artwork near the bar that we found out was to depict the history of wine. There's also an upstairs area that was blocked off during our visit, and a sign mentioned that live music starts at 10 PM. Overall, we really enjoyed our lunch time visit to The Globe and would definitely return the next time we are in town.

Its most positive points (imho) are its location, its outdoor seating in nice weather, and its family friendly ambience. Its short comings (imho) are the food and the noise level, even early on a weeknight. Food: 3/5 We appreciate that they put chips and sauce on the table right away. There is a large menu-and there is an entree special on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday The kitchen makes a positive effort to get the food to your table piping hot. There is a full bar, but we were informed right away that the tap wasn't working. Although there are 4 flavors of margaritas -a common item at Mexican restaurants - getting one was very slow from the bar. The drink was ordered on being seated but meal had started by the time my drink came. The food special of the evening was ok -disappointingly , a chicken fajita I ordered came as flat strips of chicken (like bacon strips) over sautéed onions and a few peppers, but the flavor was ok. The serving size was ok. Service: 4/5 The server was pleasant and friendly -and apologized for how long the bar took to prepare a margarita. Ambience 3/5 - nice decor, clean But noise level made it hard to hear conversations at the table. The metal roof probably contributed to the noise level and it did look like there was wood decor added near the ceiling, possibly to help loudness. Location 4/5 -Easy drive from downtown Watkinsville, farther from Athens, 316, or a perimeter exit.
