This place gets crazy busy so come early or be prepared to wait. Everything is made fresh as well. The inside is very small as well so be prepared to sit outside. The vibe is like an outside diner with some creative spins to classics. I love peanut butter so it was a no brainer to get the peanut butter bacon burger. I really enjoyed it, the sweet salty taste with a juicy burger was great. I actually wish it had jelly, maybe spicy jelly, to complete the experience. We also had the Parmesan fries, onion rings and fried pickles. All were good and fatty just like I like them. If you are in Athen you must try unless you're on a diet. Where do I even begin! This is probably one of the best burger joints in all of Athens, Georgia. Great food, great staff, and great vibes. If you are looking for a place to eat when craving a flavorful burger, YOU HAVE FOUND IT. I used to frequent this place 10+ years ago when my college roommates worked there. Everything looked about the same as it did back then! They have even added more outdoor seating (I guess due to COVID), which also makes them stand out! The menu may have changed some since I last visited years and years ago, but I'll tell you what, the quality of food that comes out of their kitchen is a notch above the rest. I ordered a Meteor Burger on a salad (bun-less), yeah I know I am weird...and an order of their Bell's Beer Battered Onion Rings and order of fries. The Meteor burger on a salad was so fire, I couldn't put down my fork to take a sip of my drink! The onion rings were beyond heavenly and was served with a homemade dipping sauce; and the fries, without a doubt, were on freaking point! My brother and I went to the restaurant for a late lunch (around 1:30p) on Tuesday, June 18th. We walked in and were not greeted by anyone and there was no sign directing us to anything. I walked up to the bar and one gentleman told us to sit where ever we liked. We picked a table and sat. A few minutes went by and a bartender came to us and told us they were in the middle of a shift change and that he was leaving but the new bartender was in and he would be with us in a minute. So we sat and waited. There was a lot of activity around the bar . . . people doing things, picking up their to go orders. Seeing this activity I thought I would go ask one of them about getting service. I asked a tall, brunette lady about getting a couple menus, and she replied that the bartender would take care of us. I asked who the bartender was, and she pointed this guy who looked right at me and said nothing. I assumed that he knew we were there to eat and that the tall woman pointing him out to me would cajole him into bringing us menus. Alas, that did not happen. We sat for another few minutes and no one even acknowledged we were in the restaurant. At that point, we left and went to the Taco Stand where we were greeted outside the door by the owner, and served almost immediately. This place was recommended by an UGA alum, and it was LEGIT. We walked in and it was filled with college students. Ok, we were in a college town, so whatever. Once you get over that, get ready to enjoy some good tasting burgers. I believe they emphasize things being local and organic so it's one of those places. The burgers were all around $7.50-$8.50, some $9.20 so that was decent. They have vegan and veggie options, but you will want to enjoy the burgers if you can help it. The Ring of Fire did not disappoint, if you like spicy. The milkshakes were also recommended and came served in a chilled metal cup. They have a cheerwine milkshake! There's indoor and outdoor seating, but I recommend the outdoor if you can put up with the heat. Indoor felt cramped and dark. They give you pieces of nostalgic bubblegum at the end. read more

Went here a couple times when I was still attending UGA (How 'Bout Them Dawgs, btw?). Service is alright. It feels dirty as Hell in there, but if you ignore that and you don't look at the health score, you're good to go. Pretty tiny restaurant, inside and out. Burgers never fail. If you go, do NOT get the peanut butter burger. I don't care who hyped it up. I get the sweet and salty memo, I see the vision, but it doesn't work. They put a whole glob of pb on it. Clocked is a disappointment. The major issues with this spot lie within the price point given the experience, and quality/quantity of food. Let's start with the moment upon walking into Clocked. The place is small and gives off a great "diner" feel. My party happily waited 15 minutes to be seated, for there are only a few tables inside Clocked. The menu is easily interpreted and gives a wide selection of burgers, hotdogs, and french fries. I ordered the Cajun burger, and fries do not come included. I'll be honest, if I'm ordering an 8 dollar burger, I expect it to come out better than a five guys burger and most definitely better than a Steak n Shake burger. I was disappointed. Your 8 dollar burger comes out on a small cardboard tray. (I like the use of the cardboard tray. I hope they use this to recycle and practice small business sustainability.) The burger's flavors were nothing special and it was honestly just so disappointing to see the burger come out all alone. It just does a poor job of communicating the value of the order. Fries are also nothing special. I understand that the value of the burger comes from the fact that it is high quality meat, but when your burger comes out well-done, you can't even taste the quality. I wish the restaurant would have this option, and if they do, the waitress did not mention it to us. Service here is not good. The place is so small so it is rather simple for wait staff to stay in touch with all of their tables. At the time of my visit, the restaurant was full but that means 6 tables full... I waited 20 minutes for the check and another 10 for all 3 of them to be handled. Waiting for food took around 20 minutes. Fries came out 10 minutes earlier than the burgers. Come here if you are someone who is willing to pay the extra dollar for the meat quality. But for your average burger lover, try another spot. read more

Ahh, Clocked, one of my favorite restaurants from when I was a student. While it hurts me that I can't give you five stars, let me go ahead and cover what I know from years of visits as a hungry college student and now a full-fledged member of society. The food is absolutely delicious. I can only vouch for the burgers in terms of main dishes, but I've never had a burger here in all my years that I didn't like. They're juicy, they have fun topping options, and they come at a fair price point. The shakes are also quite good, and I always opt to get the flash-fried veggies with a side cup of sauce (the wasabi mayo is a favorite, but keep in mind you'll pay extra for any sauce that isn't ye olde ketchup/mustard). And now the bad, why I have to dock a star... service has always been kinda hit-or-miss and it was a miss on my last visit. First, I ordered a PBJ shake, ended up with chocolate. I'm not one to fuss and chocolate is fine so I told the waiter I'd just drink that one so no one would have to remake it. Waiter offers to strike it from the receipt (cool!) but then proceeds to totally leave it on the receipt when I pay (wellp!). I was prepared to pay for a shake when I came in so it wasn't the end of the world, but kinda lame when I ended up with something I didn't order. Second, my companion ordered soup and... did not get that until he'd finished his burger and fries. Safe to say it'd been completely forgotten about until we reminded the waiter. Unfortunately I can remember getting spotty service as a student too, but ultimately I've always come back for the burgers (best in Athens IMO). I had high hopes because I'd seen so many great reviews both on Yelp and Facebook recommendation posts. Sadly, my expectations were not met. Atmosphere: cozy/cramped and loud - when fewer people there, they cranked the music, when lots of people there you can barely hear the people at your table talking. Service: the waiter was cryptic and weird (not a good way). Awkward with conversation. I got the feeling he thought of himself as "way cool, man" and yet he so-o-o-o wasn't, he was just seemingly snarky and covertly hostile. Little did he know we normally tip 30%+ with good service. There were a couple of guys working in the back that came out front for various reasons throughout the meal and they were scuzzy and unkempt looking, making me wonder how much care they took with our food. Other observations and fare review: Our sides were delivered first and were cold by the time we got our sandwiches/burgers. We didn't get silverware or napkins until one in our party got up to find the napkins. Burgers were like hockey pucks, tough and way over overcooked and didn't even fit the large buns they came on (maybe they were 1/4 lb, maybe)? We weren't even asked how we wanted them doneness wise ... maybe by design from the waiter who already had a bug up his rear about us. They reminded me of a Five Guys burger only not as good (and I don't really consider Five Guys good). My burger was supposed to have bacon on it. I got a *third* of a piece of bacon. It might as well have not been on there. Lettuce was soggy and wilted on all burgers. Onions were like they were cut by a 4 year old... chunky, oddly shaped wedges that wouldn't stay on the burger. We just had piles of onion chunks at the bottom of our trays when we were done. Cajun tater tots were well seasoned but overly fried - hard exterior and mushy, greasy interior. Another in the party got the falafel burger. It was too mushy to be eaten on a bun... it really should be served in a wrap. The reason for one of the two stars on this review is that the pickles were delicious. Sweet potatoes were good. Second star. I don't think we'll be going back in all likelihood. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of food here. It was actually our 3rd option for dinner on the first evening we spent in Athens. Because of COVID, they only allow window-side pick-up. We tried calling in advance, but no one answered (for whatever reason), so we went there & ordered in person. We placed our order & waited on a near-by bench for probably 15-20 minutes. Eventually, the food was ready, and we grabbed it & headed back to the hotel. I ordered the feta burger with cheese tots, my son got the bacon cheeseburger with onion rings, my wife got the bronco burger with tots, and my other son got the hotdog with fries. All the burgers were really quite delicious. I thought mine was the best of the three. The feta and feta sauce were on point and added a really nice flavor. All of the burgers came with some exceptionally tasty pickles and fresh red onion. If I have one criticism of the burgers, it's that they were all cooked well-done. I prefer a medium rare burger or at least having the option. Not major, but still. The tots were crispy and tasty & the onion rings were definitely crisp and tasty as well. Overall, it was a very tasty & satisfying meal and we would most certainly come back. A solid 4.5 star place that I rounded up on because the good outweighed the bad. Reminds me of a midwest rural restaurant(which are my favorites btw). There were 6 of us and every single person commented that BY FAR this has been the BEST all a round restaurant we have been to in downtown Athens! The hamburgers are amazing! My friend Sara ordered a veggie burger and just raved about it!The Garlic Parmesan Fries are so good. But the service that was afforded to us by this young lady by the name of FOX was outstanding!
