With school out we were finally able to get in on a Saturday. Always crowded after noon on the weekend. Crowded because the food is good here. Started off with tater tots with a basil and jalapeno dipping sauce. They have a lot of sauces to dip so try something besides just ketchup. I had the pimento cheese melt which was delicious. Used to be my favorite place, went here for my birthday this year with a group of friends. One friend was running late of our party of 6. But she wasn't going to be eating. They told us they couldn't seat us because our whole party wasn't there and gave the only table of 6, to a party of 2. I wasn't mad.... but then 15 minutes later 2 more people walk in and sit down with them.... then the waitress comes over to them and says so glad you're whole party has arrived what can I get for you..... #WHAT So then we all sit at the bar, and have a drink while we're waiting, and the waiter comes up to us and says if you want to be seated faster, you could wait outside and we can use our bar space for our smaller parties. Excuse me what?? There's no one in front of us on a waiting list?? Aka please go outside and wait. Then it's raining and they decide to towel off a picnic table outside and sit us there, after telling another couple that seating is closed. I then over here said bartender telling the cook, they should go outback and smoke weed together. Overall terrible experience. Nothing for birthdays here either. Clocked is a local burger joint located in Downtown Athens. All the times I've gone, there's a fair mix of college students and families. Atmosphere is very chill, where the servers will even sit at the bar to take a break and eat a burger. If you're into organic ingredients, this is the place for you. Burgers here are pretty reasonably priced. You can get a burger for around $6-8, but note that this does not include a side. You can add on fries, tater tots, onion rings, hummus with chips for around $3-$4. The onion rings are beer-battered, so if you have any issues with beer, I wouldn't recommend. My friend is allergic to some component of alcohol, and he could feel/taste it without even knowing they were beer-battered. I, however, have no issues with that, and loved their onion rings. Not too greasy, and they have just the right amount of crunch. I've also heard great things about their milkshakes, though I've never tried them. I'm honestly not too crazy about their burgers. The first few bites are always a tad dry, then when I get to the middle of the burger, I finally taste the juiciness. But by then, I'm already getting full. I usually order steaks and burgers medium-rare, and here, you don't specify, since they cook their burgers their way. Service is always friendly, though it could be faster. Overall, I'd recommend Clocked if you're in the area and want a quick burger that's a step-up from fast food. read more

I really wanted to like this place. I am a big burger fan and my sister who lives in Athens recommended Clocked. We were told to sit anywhere when we got here so we sat outside. We waited at least 10-15 minutes after seating ourselves for our waitress to come take our order and give us water. Another waitress who looked really busy with four or so other parties said that our table wasn't in her zone but our waitress was coming soon (maybe she saw we were getting peeved). We were about to leave when our waitress came and she explained to us she was late to her shift. I understand that life happens but we were legit about to get up and leave. Other than her being late she was very attentive and brought us extra sauce and napkins. But her being extra late and making us wait that long put a sour taste in my mouth for clocked. The prices on the menu weren't too bad and they had some cool food and drink specials and a ton of cocktails. I got an adult chocolate shake with baileys and maybe kahlua or Jameson (? Don't recall) in it. The adult shake tasted a bit strong but it was very tasty. My sister got a blackberry milkshake that looked and tasted really good. We got different burgers. I just went for a simple cheese burger. It wasn't bad just not anything to write home about. Props for using H&F buns, and the special sauce was good. The onion rings were delicious and fresh but very greasy - there was a pool of grease at the bottom of the basket when we were done. The pool of grease grossed me out. Same for the fried pickles, which I think were in the same beer batter as the onion rings. There was an up charge for not paying in cash which seemed a bit odd as I've never seen that anywhere before. Maybe clocked had an off day when we went but I'm not 100% I would rush back. Love the outside area here and that they are dog-friendly. Should have read through the reviews about the service beforehand, but it wasn't horrible. Not enough to make us not come back at least. Maybe next time I'll be in the mood for a burger since it seems they specialize in them here but I tried a few random things off the menu that were all really good! I guess you can't ever go wrong with tator tots, especially when they have Cajun seasoning and are only $2.75 for a hefty serving size. The waitress recommended the feta dressing to dip them in and while it was fattening, it was delicious. The small Greek salad was a decent size at $4.95, as well. I also can't not order split pea soup when I see it, because it's never on any menus. That was really tasty and I loved the bowl it was served in. The veggies frites were interesting, as well. I've tried a lot of burgers in my days & I would have to say that Clocked has some of the best burgers I've ever had. Clocked is a little vintage burger joint in Athens. It can get really busy on weekends & game days (Saturdays in the fall). I would have to say that Clocked is an Athens classic. The interior is decorated with unique pieces of art that reminds me of an old-school burger joint. It gives me the classic red stools at the bar and hand-spun milkshake vibe. They have limited seating inside and picnic tables outside. Seating might be limited for larger groups. Clocked served classic hamburgers and cheeseburgers, but offer a variety of speciality burgers. The speciality burgers can range from peanut butter and bacon to mushroom and swiss. Sometimes they offer weekly specials with more burger choices. I try to get something different every time, but I've never had anything I didn't like. The burger is fresh off the grill & the bun is toasted to perfection. I love the buttery toasted bun & it might be what makes the burger so great. Burgers can sometimes get juicy and soggy, but the toasted bun gives it a crunch you never knew you needed. Along with burgers, they have vegetarian options (black bean burger, falafel, etc). Clocked also serves grilled cheese, hot dogs, and a variety of sides. The sweet potato fries and tater tots are my favorite. The tater tots are always golden crispy. At an extra cost, you can try their speciality sauces. The raspberry-habanero ketchup is my favorite, it has a sweet tangy flavor. I've been here on many different occasions and I've never had problems with service. Cute 50's ish diner style, specializing in burgers. Small area inside, with outside seating as well. We had amazing service, with a nice selection of beverages. We enjoyed the falafel burger, very flavorful with a nice crispy texture, and a PB burger which was fire! Both came on a brioche buns, pillowy and fresh. We also enjoyed the fried pickles with a flavorful dipping sauce, and Cajun fries, with a raspberry habanero sauce, which had a nice heat to them. Fish was great, salad ingredients were sparse-(the whole menu item was served in a soup bowl) Chili was also rated highly. The fairly small inside space is a little noisy when full, but there are more tables outside and Athens has many days when dining outside is a pleasant experience -and the location of this restaurant is. convenient for many walkers . Servers are consistently pleasant and responsive to requests. This places is very popular and crowded at dinner time but turnover is pretty quick so you get seated after a short wait. I'm always happy to try a new place with a good handful of friends. Especially when it's all about burgers & fries. And especially when staff is as friendly as they are at Clocked. In hindsight, I probably should have tried some of the other things on the menu, but my special garlic burger did not blow my socks off. And the chili left me wanting something different. And I should have gotten some fries. My burger was kinda dry (I'd ordered it done medium). The garlic cloves on it were huge, but lacked any character. I mean, when I eat a fistful of big-ass garlic cloves, I expect living organisms in the upper atmosphere to say, "Holy mackerel!" (I censored that last sentence.) The chili tasted like it started with a roux. I'm not sure if that was intentional or not. I mean, I had a fleeting thought that it had been on the burner too long. But if it was intentional, I don't know whether to regard it as genius or folly. Next time I go, and I WILL go again, I'll stick with some of the more traditional offerings. read more

I love this place. I make my friends take me here every time I am in Athens. I love love love their burgers. Ever since I tried a Clocked burger no other burger can compare. For first timers I would really recommend their Friendship burger. It is simple but so yummy and satisfying. I recently tried their Ring of Fire burger, which was pretty good. I Always take advantage of the free add ons (caramelized onions and jalapeños ) and never regret it. Their sweet potato fries are good, can't go wrong with their tater tots either. I haven't tried any of their other special sauces because I am so hooked on their Raspberry Habanero Ketchup! Not really on the ketchup side, but it really is amazing with anything you dip into it. I also tried their new Garlic Parmesan fries... holy crap. Those were AMAZING. You could taste the fresh garlic that was on top and you could see the grated parmesan.. it was 100x better than I or any of my friends expected. It is a must try if you're a garlic/parm fan! My husband raved about a peanut butter bacon burger he recently had in Virginia... Lo and behold, it was on the menu at Clocked. Eh --(I'm more of a purist.) Clocked offers a variety of burgers on seeded rolls and yes, they look good. I however chose a falafel sandwich. Usually made from little balls of fried chickpeas, this was a flat patty, nicely seasoned and quite good. The three of us shared a couple of sides: tater tots which tasted like, um... tater tots, and fried vegetables, which were just sautéed asparagus spears and carrots. (I'm not quite sure what we were expecting from the vegetables). While I wouldn't put Clocked (which calls itself a diner) on my must-go-to list, I wouldn't balk about returning. My one suggestion to management: time the sides to come out with the mains. Ours arrived at least ten minutes early, which we didn't appreciate. read more

This is a cute little funky diner that is open late. First off, this isn't a place for gourmet food, so I'm rating it based off of what one would except to get from a tiny diner that specializes in burgers and sandwiches. On my last visit I had them create me a grilled cheese from their gluten free bun. I asked for provolone and cheddar cheese, with tomato and honey mustard to dip it in. My boyfriend got a more traditional burger with cheese and bacon, but he also recommends the burger with peanut butter. We also split an order of fries. The food is perfect for what it is.
