Clocked is a favorite with me and my family! I especially love making my burgers into a salad and adding the tempeh bacon.

Best burger AND tots AND shakes in Athens! You MUST order the Cajun tots with the secret sauce - it's a game changer! The blackberry milkshake was amazing (I've had it with and without alc in it and I thought without was actually better!) Would highly recommend trying this spot out while in Athens

Cannot have enough of the mushroom Swiss burger with the impossible patty! Best burger spot in Athens hands down. If you're wondering what kind of side to get- definitely try the Cajun fries with the feta sauce! Unbelievably delicious!

I was in town during UGA's spring break for a show. We were looking for a spot to eat lunch the next day and with so many options no one could make a decision. We finally settled on Clocked since we were talking about burgers and it was on a list of recommendations from a friend. We arrive around 1:30 on a Wednesday and were told it would be about 30 minutes for a table. There was a record store right next store so we shopped there until our table was ready. Once we sat we placed our drink orders and took some time to look at the menu. They have many vegan and vegetarian options including beyond burgers, tempeh bacon, black bean burgers, falafel, and even tofu hot dogs. We ordered burgers, fried pickles, onion rings and parmesan fries with a ton of dipping sauces. Beyond burgers aren't my favorite but they did it right, not sure what made theirs so special but I really loved the beyond burger here. They had so many different options for toppings, my partner got the one with peanut butter and he really liked his as well. The tempeh bacon had great flavor and were sliced thin. The fried pickles were also sliced thin but covered in batter and really crispy. I really enjoyed how much breading was everywhere, but they were also light and airy. The onion rings were huge slices of onions with the same airy breading as the pickles. The parmesan fries were the way to go. I love fries and the addition of the cheese and garlic really elevated them. I dipped everything in honey mustard and ranch and all the sauces were great. Service was good, food came out fast, and lots of options for drinks including cocktails and draft beers. If you're looking for a burger joint Clocked will not disappoint!

When in A thens..... so we stopped here for a Burger and a beer, both were very good. Place is nothing fancy, college town vibe, super casual. Lots of burger options and staff was quite friendly. We ordered sides of fries, regular and sweet potato. In my opinion the fries servings were on the meager side, I mean they're potatoes.... But overall a fine spot!

    Mushroom Swiss and fries!

My favorite burger out there! I always get the mushroom Swiss and it never disappoints! The fries are crispy and the sauces are a great addition! I recommend the raspberry habanero! The meat is always perfectly juicy, the cheese perfectly melted, and the mushrooms are smokey. I would recommend getting the secret sauce on the side, though, to keep the bun from getting soggy!

Great menu with vegetarian options. And unique ambience. Very Athens and Bohemian. Try the Mushroom Grilled Cheese sandwich.

Clocked is a very solid four-star place. The stingy undoubtedly jiggger bourbon pours at $9.00 a throw and the 4% "Non Cash Fee" took it out of the running for five stars in my book. Interpret that as you will. Anyway. . . . The food was really really good. By the numbers: - Pimiento Cheeseburger 5/5. This was hands down one of the best Cheeseburgers I've ever had. It's built with what seemed to me fresh, top notch ingredients. If you like Pimiento Cheese, this is the burger to get. - Tots 5/5. I couldn't find fault with them, so five stars. - Fried pickle chips 5/5. I couldn't find fault with them either, so five stars. The service was good. Despite it being a busy Saturday night all over town, we were seated in about ten minutes outside at a nice table. The weather was nice, so being seated outside was a plus. It's full bar with a good selection of beers, so they have all of your booze groups covered. I washed the food down with a Creature Comforts Tropicalia, as one does. Cheers!

Clocked is an eclectic burger joint that caters mostly to the students of the University of Georgia. It is within walking distance of the school, so students are the primary customers, but there are a few families and tourists that stop by to indulge in one of their juicy burger creations. I would have loved to have tried this restaurant pre-covid because I think the owner likes to experiment and offer unique twists to the standby classics as seen by the menus posted on Yelp over the years. However, now the menu board seems more limited. I ordered the Mushroom & Swiss with a side of tater tots. The burger was mouthwatering, not to mention the juices running down my hands. Condiments were on each picnic table, but who needs to dress up something so delicious? Thankfully a roll of paper towels could be found there too along with a spray bottle to clean off the table before and after eating to keep it Covid clean. There is no indoor dining here anymore. They have a side yard filled with picnic tables and outdoor heaters. There are also tables tented to protect from the elements. Clocked expanded their outdoor dining by roping off the four or five parking spaces out front. Tables are now spaced out so you can dine distanced from others. Of course this means you will either have to walk from campus or find a paid parking space on the next street over. The meters are about $1.50 for an hour. The meters take coins, but it didn't appear that you could use an app to pay with your credit card online. It seems like this is a favorite place students come to hangout and get a bite to eat. They like it so much, they bring their out-of-town family members here too. I could see coming back here post Covid after catching a show at the famous Morton or Georgia Theaters or the 40 Watt Club. All are located on the block making for a fun night on the town.

The food: I went with the Fried Chicken Blue Plate. Between the regular and the Nashville Hot, the Nashville was the winner--flavorful and moist without being overwhelming with the spice. Huge shoutout to my server for suggesting the brussel sprouts; that glaze is incredible and they were easily my favorite part of the plate. The mashed sweet potatoes were unique--I'm still debating if I liked them or loved them. The jalapeño cornbread was a bit sweet for my taste but on par with most restaurant cornbread. The mac & cheese wasn't bad, but also didn't do much for me like most restaurant mac & cheese. The cocktail: Do not sleep on Nana's Naissance. I wasn't sure what to expect from the ingredients, but it's like an elevated take on Rumchata. The service: I was seated at the bar and experienced a noticeable delay--a group that arrived well after me almost finished their meal before mine arrived. However, the waitress acknowledged the wait before I even had to mention it and made things right. I really appreciate that kind of proactive service. We're all human, and they handled the situation very professionally.

Thus is my pain when recounting our visit to Mama's Boy. We stopped here for breakfast before heading out of town on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in September. Prior to visiting, I read that the wait here can be a bit intimidating but we lucked out coming on a day when there was an away football game which I think took some folks out of town as we only had to wait about 20-25 minutes. It's a casual joint where you order at the counter (but only after you've been given a table) and the food is bangin'. I was not playing it healthy here, going for the Truck Stop Biscuits & Gravy which was a biscuit topped with sausage gravy, sweet tea brined fried chicken, and topped with scrambled eggs. For my side I went with grits (because when in the south!) and of course I had a refreshing strawberry lemonade to wash it all down with. Everything was excellent. The biscuit was fluffy, the chicken was juicy, the gravy was flavorful...and it was all perfect together. And the grits were so rich and smooth and so very tasty! It was casual service but everyone who we encountered was really lovely. Bless the mama's boys of the world for bringing us such a delicious dining experience!

I stopped at Brett's Casual American with my service dog, Stormy. The server was excellent -- respectful, professional, and even asked before petting her. He mentioned he used to foster Dobermans growing up, and he clearly understood how to behave around a working dog. The issue was with the owner. He demanded to see "papers," insisted Stormy needed a vest with a visible ID tag, and told me I was "harassing his staff," even though the staff had been nothing but kind. For anyone who doesn't know: under the ADA, businesses cannot require documentation, certification, or specific gear. They can only ask two questions: Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability What task the dog is trained to perform What crossed the line for me was when he reached out and touched Stormy without permission. I walked out immediately. Touching a working service dog is not only inappropriate -- it interferes with medical equipment and puts the handler at risk. It felt like a personal violation, not just a misunderstanding. Most people in Athens are great about this, and I really appreciated the server who handled everything correctly. I'm sharing this so neighbors are aware of the proper etiquette and to help prevent situations like this in the future.
