Came by for lunch with our elderly friend. She's super picky but loved her shrimp and grits and was able to pack her leftovers for dinner. Service was impeccable. Our waiter was super helpful and patient with us being our first time there. Fried green tomatoes yummy though I wasn't a fan of the toppings. Bacon on the BLT was cooked perfectly crispy. Came here for lunch around 1pm on a Wednesday and they had a few customers almost at close. I was greeted immediately by staff two times and sat immediately. Our server was accommodating and the manager came out to greet us and give recommendations. We had the Fried Green Tomatoes, Biscuit Eggs Breakfast and the Stuffed French Toast. All the food was fresh expect the biscuits which were very dry and crispy. Private open parking lot in a strip mall in the same area as Trader Joe's, Dunkin Donuts, and Newks. We've always been a fan of the old Flying Biscuit on Prince Ave, so when my boyfriend told me that another opened on Epps Bridge we knew we had to come check it out. Needless to say, it didn't disappoint. We got the Georgia Peach Waffle dish and the Strawberry Cheesecake French Toast, and both were exceptional. The biscuits and grits are the best in Athens (in my humble opinion) and the French Toast was absolutely delightful. Our server was kind and managed to sub out my boyfriend's sausage side for a fruit bowl despite it not technically being a substitution option, so that was sweet as well. In all, I'm thoroughly impressed with the new Flying Biscuit! Would recommend it to anyone on the West Side or for those looking for a different feel from the one on Prince Ave. read more

We had a quick lunch while in Athens. The service was great and our food was delicious. I had French toast. I believe on the menu it was called "the best I ever had". My daughter had honey butter chicken waffles and she loved it. My youngest daughter had the kids French toast. It wasn't her favorite. She said it was mushy. I think the butter had melted and made it that way. But she ate most of it. Definitely look forward to returning in the future. read more

My wife was kind enough to order me a breakfast before leaving and while I love the fact she thought about me, hindsight tells me I should have just gone without eating. This is by far the worst egg sandwich I've ever eaten. I'm sorry to be so blunt but wow, everything was dry, the bacon was basically beef jerky, and I had to down eat bite with a mouthful of water in order to get this incredibly dry sandwich down. I also had potatoes but didn't take a picture. They were also dry, tough, and had waaaay too much pepper on it. Sorry, but the looks of the other reviews, this was just a bad day? Either way, this is one of the easiest meals to make and you almost have to screw it up on purpose to make it this bad. In the end, I tossed it all. Thanks anyway (to my wife). read more

I am from Maryland and my cousin recommended we meet here for breakfast. I can say they did not disappoint! The cheesy grits were delicious, even my 16yr old ordered a side of them. The kids got the stuffed french toast and it was prepared perfectly. Soft and fluffy french toast, not too sweet. They loved it. I got the honey chicken benedict and loved it. I was surprised the cheese eggs were on top of the chicken, but it actually worked. I couldn't taste the honey on the eggs but could on the chicken. The biscuit was nice and fluffy and the chicken was nice and juicy. I got a side of the hot-lanta sauce and I recommend it. Not too spicy but gave a good flavor. My wife had the chicken chorizo and it was good. I'm not normally a chorizo fan, but I liked this. The staff were super friendly and took pictures of our group for us. The restroom is clean, which is a huge plus. The coffee was good, and lastly we got mimosas and boy do I recommend those! I got mango and my wife got strawberry and both were delish. Everything was good until I didn't get my itemized receipt that they normally keep on the bag. This location prices are the same as all locations in Georgia, especially Athens. On my Beyond Sausage burrito, I asked for grilled veggies inside which I didn't receive. The manager ripped off the itemized receipt and threw it in the trash, which I thought was my copy to see what I paid for or didn't. I went back in to ask if I was charged for the grilled veggies because they weren't on my burrito, she replied "I believe you wasn't", and handed me silverware while walking away. Needless to say, I was charge and wasn't happy at all. The food here isn't like the one on Prince Avenue which was closed, so I had no other choice but to eat here. It was a bit dry but overall it wasn't a bad burrito; I would brag about it. * Avocado Toast 5/10 They're very generous with the amount of food they give you. However, the amount of tomatoes that were put on there made it taste like a Tomato sandwich instead of avocado toast. It was very bland. The bread was good. *Biscuit 3/10 biscuit was dry and hard. I would rather eat a Popeyes biscuit before I eat that thing again. At least I know to keep water. The flying biscuit on Prince Ave is so much better.
