Trying to keep this short because I was taught if you have nothing nice to say don't. Stopped by after an engagement coordinated with Chateau. Not mine. That went very well so we wanted to check out the space and food at Versailles as a possible wedding venue. Walking through the hotel there were no greetings from concierge. With possible wedding guests staying on the grounds that was a red flag. The "restaurant" itself was giving food court. The host standing at a stand in the middle of the room was weird and probably uncomfortable for the actual host. She was also the only "professional" one there during our visit. Wait staff was not put together at all, as well as the possible person in charge. I'm talking sloppy, questionable hygiene, and under the influence of somethings. Food was cooked well for the most part. My risotto was definitely undercooked and when I notified the gentleman (manager?) he asked me if I wanted to keep the fish and just have the risotto redone. We tried to scoop the fish onto a plate at the table but he ended up just taking the whole plate. That whole thing was odd. New remade dish was the exact same. I honestly started questioning my palate. But no, it was undercooked. I love an al dente pasta but like that pasta was hard and sticking to my teeth type undercooked. Grateful for my sealants. LOL The rest of our food was cooked very well. We ordered a bottle of wine. Received a cheaper wine that server opened at the table. She changed it out. We paid, left, no farewells from any staff. My fiancé and I just got engaged at Chateau Elan this past weekend. The morning of our checkout from the hotel, we had brunch at Versailles downstairs below the lobby. AMBIANCE: 5/5 The views are exquisite, with chic mid-century modern decor, natural sunlight beaming down from the glass ceiling above, and just overall upscale feel of the entire property. SERVICE: 5/5 On this day, we were informed by the hostess that there would just be a buffet offered. We accepted and were promptly seated at a cozy booth. Our friendly and kind southern charm of awaitress brought us coffees and was attentive in making sure we were having a nice morning. FOOD: 3.5/5 The buffet items were visually appetizing, with an assortment of sweet and savory items. Constructively, I feel that the tastes were just average with most breakfast buffets around. It needed a little more oomph to be considered stellar. The mini croissants were flaky and tasty, along with the jams. This was probably my favorite item. The waffles were yummy, but I would've expected pure maple syrup instead of corn syrup artificial pancake syrup, at a place like this. Scrambled eggs were okay--I should've gone with a customizable omelette from the chef station. I feel like they were missing more dishes--it almost felt sparse despite the several stations. Still, over all, we enjoyed our tastings. Other than my somewhat harsh critique that I hope gets taken as helpful rather than hurtful, we really enjoyed our morning here. Located in the Chateau Elan, Versailles is one of most beautiful restaurants I've been to. The ambiance and the friendliness of the servers alone already contribute to an amazing restaurant experience. I saw a lot of reviews saying the food took a long time to take out, but it wasn't too bad in my opinion. It gave us the chance to get up and take some pictures after we had gotten all dressed up! We ordered the Fig, pistachio, & ricotta - this dish was not worth it at all for me. For $25, you get two small pieces of bread with ricotta and figs. But it wasn't even the nice big juicy figs. The pistachios were practically nonexistent in the dish. And the taste itself of everything was relatively bland. Fried calamari - I would recommend this dish, however! The breading was so crispy and light, and the marinara sauce tasted really fresh. The complimentary rolls were warm and so soft, and had a slight sweetness to it. It was delicious even without the butter they provided. And I really appreciated that they gave us so much butter, so we could really slather it on there without restraint. Coq au vin - the chicken was more tender than I expected it to be, the mashed potatoes were really creamy, and I loved the cremini mushrooms. Braised butternut squash risotto - when this dish came out, it looked a lot less creamy than I expected, so I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The squash flavor is pretty subtle but it comes through so nicely. I liked that they held back on too much salt and pepper so that it could really shine through. But I heard some friends wishing there was more salt and pepper. Luckily, there's salt and pepper at the table, so you can always adjust to your taste. The highlight of our dinner was our server Cenait. Excellent. Our disappointment came in the lack of choices on the menu. We expected a bigger selection. The escargot should have come with garlic butter. The Coq Au Vin came with stew airline chicken which was just a chicken leg. Nothing spectacular there. Excellent Caesar's salad. And when the hostess is ready for the next guest have them be proactive and say "next" instead of waiting for guests to get done playing on their phone. We stepped forward and said we are here for our 7:15 reservation. Then the phone girl steps up and the hostess (male) helps them only to realize only one member of their party is present. Don't do that. Complete the engagement with the guest in front of you especially when their whole party was there and ready to be seated. Additional training is needed. read more

Exceptional service makes all the difference. When the service is this good, it elevates the entire dining experience. Huge thanks to the woman with the braid, she was outstanding. She truly put the customer experience first, and honestly, she should be managing the entire place. Her attention and care made a real impact. My wife had the filet mignon, phenomenal. I went with the mussels and fries, and while the sauce was a bold choice, as a Frenchman, I absolutely loved it. Versailles Restaurant, it is one of the most beautiful hotel restaurants from soaring wood paneled bar, marble dotted with bright blue booths, and soaring atrium ceiling! This casual-ish spot serves up some tasty appetizers like a full-on meat and cheese plate, or decadent, smoky smoked salmon deviled eggs. We'd highly recommend the silky and melt in your mouth sea bass loaded with an earthy pea risotto and dousing of creamy white wine cream sauce. Or you can't go wrong with their rich and meaty lamb shank with mashed potatoes! Everything we had was very tasty. The one thing that I'd like to point out is that the main course food took quite a while to come out. I don't know if it was just the night we went but it dampened the mood a little because it is such a gorgeous spot, and the food and drinks are good. The service also was a little lacking. I've been to Chateau Elan a few times and this restaurant is just the best!! The service, food, ambience, environment are just excellent each time. The wine selection is amazing and the service is always friendly and accommodating. The food at Versailles is sooooo good! This restaurant has the most stunning building, with tables near a grand staircase, a ceiling that is windows, and banquet halls to each side. The food here was fantastic, but we were a little confused by the brunch menu since it wasn't a brunch menu but a normal lunch menu. The food was very good, and the wine was super nice to have along with it. We had a larger party so we were a little off to the side with a server helping our party. This place is a great place to stop if you are visiting the spa or the wine tasting room here at on sight. If you're staying in the hotel it is a perfect stop to eat. read more

My wife and I came up to Chateau Elan for a weekend. We decided to have an evening meal at Versailles's. I must say that the Filet Mignon was the best steak I've ever had. Even better than my own home grilled steaks. I've had other expensive steaks but this one was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked to a medium temperature. I'm not sure what seasonings they use but it seems to be seasoned perfectly and the seasoning seemed to go all the way through the steak. My wife had the Sea Bass which as also good. The space is beautiful, and that is what got this to 2 stars. There are a lot of nice, semi private booths that still give a great view of the three story space. The service was disjointed and slow. We had enough time to decide on pre dinner cocktails and our entire food order before anyone approached our table. The menu runs appetizers--salads--entrees. The salads came out first. My Nicoise salad was very nice and I would order this again. My wife's Caesar was ordinary. These were followed by our appetizer, with still no sight of our cocktails. Mussels and clams in a white wine garlic reduction were seasoned correctly and savory. There were just too many empty shells with nothing in them. Perhaps a third of the app. Calling the included bread a baguette was an insult to bread everywhere, and the table bread was half a warmed potato loaf. Our cocktails finally appeared just before our shared entree, the range topping Tomahawk steak, and here the meal finally got on track. The steak was a good, tender cut cooked and seasoned correctly. Garlic potatoes and roasted broccoli completed the dish as expected. We also shared the lemon thyme dessert. A great end to a meal, citrusy, sweet and rich. A really nicely well executed dessert. I hate reviews that dwell on the prices, but the value for food here didn't make the cut. The Caesar salad wasn't a $20 salad. The mussels and clams were also a tough sell at $29 for the few we got. Everything else made sense, but the uneven service made the prices difficult to accept. The meal wasn't the main reason for our visit at Chateau Elan. The spa and the winery were the draw for us. There might be better options off the winery property. read more

If you're staying at Chateau Elan, some of the overnight packages have breakfast included from here and it was pretty good! I would say it's on the pricer side, but it's super convenient as it's basically just outside the halls of where the hotel rooms are situated. Their nova lox was just the usual bagel, avacado, capers, tomato, onion, and smoked salmon. So nothing that super stands out, but it was good. Got their egg and hash (I think is what it's called), and it's your usual eggs (your style, we just got scrambled), potato wedges, peppers, and biscuit. Stayed at Chateau Elan and our room included breakfast for two at Versailles. That morning, they offered a buffet breakfast. The self-serve buffet included fruit, eggs, cinnamon rolls, bacon, and more. There was also an omelet station where you can customize your own and a chef will cook it for you. We came down from our room around 9 in the morning. We were immediately greeted and seated by the host. Our friendly server came to our table to take our drink orders shortly after. She was very prompt and attentive throughout our meal. I tried the fruit, omelet from the omelet station, breakfast potatoes, cinnamon roll and coffee. Although I asked for an egg white omelet, it wasn't what I received. The line was long and I didn't want to waste a perfectly good omelet, so I didn't ask the the chef to remake. It was tasty nonetheless. Glad breakfast was included in our room. Otherwise, it would have been pricey. read more

LISTEN TO THE BAD REVIEWS: Food was mediocre and nowhere near worth the price. Took over an hour and a half to get our entrees. We had the filet. Flavor was great, but it had huge pieces of fat in it. They obviously cut the meat to look like a filet, but it wasn't a filet. Waitress took forever and kept forgetting our drinks. One of the most beautiful restaurants I have seen is the Versailles Restaurant. The decor from the marble round table, the beautiful plating, and the helpful staff make it a great place to dine. I love to head to this restaurant during the dinner hours because of how quiet it was, the beautiful music, and one on one service. One of my favorite dishes was the Seared Salmon with Grilled Asparagus, Lemon Caper Aioli, and Cauliflower Mashed. The Lemon Caper Aioli was one of the best parts of the dishIt was perfectly cooked where I do not need to cut it at all with a knife. I paired this dish with a glass of Chardonnay Reserve (14.3% alcohol). The Grilled Organic Chicken Breast with Mushroom Risotto, Haricot Vert, and Orange Glaze is terrific, too, with a Pinot Grigio Reserve. Chateau Elan Resort is spectacular. And to impress someone with ambience, this is the place to do it. But be prepared that prices are very high and service is terrible. Was treated here for my birthday and check came out to $1000 for 7 people. Food was not good and the service was even worse. Brought it to managers attention and he made up for it by bringing a bottle of champagne and 2 glasses for a table of 7. The server never offered after dinner drinks, coffee or tea. The manager did take something off the bill but this did not change our experience enough to recommend this restaurant. My recommendation is to eat elsewhere and go over to the winery for apps or after dinner drinks. read more

Where to start. It was our anniversary and we eat French to commemorate our day. We move north so we make reservations at Versailles, chateau elan. No need on a Tuesday night. First of all the ambiance is very vacuous and not what a normal french restaurant would be. It's in the lobby of the hotel. Started with a bottle of their made in Italy for chateau elan moscato. We ordered French onion soup and the potatoe leek soups. The French onion was so salty that is was inedible without a glass of water. The potatoe leek, just ok. I ordered the sea bass and my husband ordered the duck. The proteins were good but strange succatach under my sea bass. The duck was supposed to be med rare but came rare. We did even have dessert. This is very overpriced and not worth the time or money. We don't mind spending on great food but this wasn't it. Never again. read more

We came here for weekend breakfast buffet. We were pleasantly surprised!! The food was delicious and way better than expected for a buffet. It was actually reasonably priced especially for such a nice hotel. We had eggs, biscuit, fresh omelette made to order, and waffles. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was so relaxing and scenery was even better (see photos attached). The waitress I had was very attentive and provided awesome customer service. I was a tad bit late from getting a birthday massage and breakfast ended about 10 minutes after I arrived; she spoke to her manager and I was still able to be served. She recommended a delicious wine that I ended up purchasing at the Winery, which was right across the walkway. Last week spent some time at Château élan for my wife's birthday this was one of the restaurants we tried out. The food was good. The service was very good in terms of our waiter. Some of the other staff hostess etc. were only average. When comparing them to the other restaurant on site, specifically Mark bar and restaurant they paled by comparison but we did enjoy the overall experience. Again however to reiterate the positive the reason I give a four instead of a three for the overall experience is because our actual waiter was very good and the lobster and shrimp ravioli was absolutely amazing! It was probably one of my favorite meals I've had at any restaurant in the past year! The Ravioli was a 5 the restaurant a 3 for a 4 average rating. We had a great dinner experience at Versailles. Yes it is pricy! But you are at Chateau Elan splurging as is so just deal with it and enjoy the meal! It will not be disappointing! Service was on point out of the gate making both food and drink recommendations and checking in on us throughout the meal. We started with a Lobster Bisque and Escargots. Both were great! The Escargot was served out of the shell and sat in a delicious sauce that was amazing to sop up with the grilled bread. I got the Seared Seabass and Megs got the Pan Seared Scallop. Both were bomb and everything was cooked well! We drank numerous cocktails... they make a mean espresso martini and finished dinner by putting an order of the Lobster Mac & Cheese. Yeah, that was the show stopper. Huge chunks of lobster and a delicious cheese blend, we couldn't resist ordering it. Like I said, dinner wasn't cheap, but it was a great meal and a great night. Mushroom ravioli and French onion soup were okay but nothing out of the world. Salad was like grocery store bought salad packet. They charge premium price but use cheap ingredients.
