Excellent establishment! Came here for lunch on my vacation while I was in Cincy and staying at the Hilton. Very clean, modern, and open. Plenty of tables and space. Great menu! We sat at the bar as we wanted service. Here, you order at the counter and take a number. Your food is then brought out to you. At the bar, the bartender is able to engage more. He had great recommendations as I chose the Margarita that featured a "green juice." Kale, spinach, parsley, and a few other greens puréed and blended into tequila and sour. Super fresh tasting and actually seemed healthy. I ordered the Steak and Eggs which was phenomenal! Steak was super tender and had a lot of flavor with the chimichurri on it! Eggs were cooked perfect over med and the hash browns were really good too. I would love to come back and try new things as I think the concept here is really cool! read more

My wife and I were so excited to eat here that we arrived 15 minutes before it even opened and waited in the entryway on a cold Sunday morning. It was worth it. The Chicken Hash was yummy. It was one of the most unique breakfasts I have ever had. The Maplewood omelette was good, but it seemed a bit plain compared to the Chicken Hash. If you are in Downtown Cincinnati and want a fantastic breakfast plan a trip to Maplewood. The staff was very friendly. read more

It's a walk up ordering which is a great concept. Large tables to easily accommodate large groups. It is a bit noisy for conversations but still great atmosphere. The food was really good and great quality. My only criticism is the workers all seemed agitated and not very welcoming, which was surprising for such a great place. read more

2 of our 3 visits here have been fantastic. Most recently, I had the New York Strip, and I was quite impressed. Don't-need-a-knife tender, and well-seasoned. My wife had the Organic Salmon, and she couldn't say enough about it. The coffee is La Terza (an above-average local roaster). We also enjoyed a maple cookie. Staff was great and very accommodating--which was very gracious since we brought our 1-year-old. This time, we used street parking ($3.50 for 90 minutes) around the corner instead of the garage across the street. We will return. Recommended. read more

We drove up from Lexington to have dinner with a friend. The interior is beautiful. It's s fancy fast casual dining restaurant. You order your food at the counter, and the food is brought out to you. I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and added bacon. It came with fries. I just had water to drink. $15! A bit expensive in my opinion. The sandwich was SO salty. I felt like I needed an entire pitcher of water. A friend got the avocado toast. Seriously, that's what it was. ONE piece of toast with avocado for $6! The people were nice. I don't recommend trying this place if you are doing the Whole30 thing. There's not much for you to eat. Also, another friend got a bottle of juice. $8! Everything just seemed WAY over priced. read more

Very expensive. You have to wait in line to order before you get seated. Breakfast for 2 was $56. You have to tip before you are served. Didn't work for me. read more

When I first went to this place, I expected it to be a sit down full service restaurant. It isn't. When you arrive you grab a menu off the wall then order at the counter. They'll give you a number and you can sit anywhere you please. Side note: if you sit at the bar you can do all your ordering from there. I ordered the super food salad with tuna. This may have been the best salad I have had in Cincinnati. The sweetness of the blueberries pairs really well with the wasabi in the dressing and the tuna was a perfect compliment to the dish. Overall, it was a very light but filling meal. I will be back. read more

The place is just right for a family gathering. If you love Bakersfield but you want to sit at the table, I would encourage you to stop by and have a taste of Bakersfield but without the noisy background. The owner is actually really friendly and easy to talk to. He is legitimately concern about your experience, and your entire meal experience. As a side note, I have a 6 week old child and the ambiance of the restaurant is adequate for him. Totally recommend it. read more

Maplewood is a great addition to downtown Cincinnati! Their fresh cold pressed juices are probably one of my favorite things you can get if you're in the mood for something non-alcoholic, and their brunch cocktails are amazing, too! The mimosas contain their cold pressed juices, which are an added bonus. If you're a coffee person, you're in luck! Their coffee is really high quality and tasty. Their food is awesome for both brunch and dinner, and I've been multiple times for both. Here are some of my favorites for brunch: avocado benedict, lemon ricotta pancakes, Maplewood omelet, and the chicken tinga. Their portions are pretty big, so make sure you come hungry... very hungry :) For dinner, my favorite is the super greens salad (which is entree sized) or the tuna tacos. You cannot make reservations, so I recommend coming before or after peak time for brunch. The decor is GORGEOUS and the overall ambience is just fantastic. read more

I enjoyed the nice environment (music was too loud) and sunlight. You walk up and order and then moved to select your table. I enjoyed my burger. The house made pickles were delicious. The fries weren't great and didn't "match" the burger. The service was good (far from great) but somewhat lackluster. read more

I think it has good food. A little more pricey then a typical breakfast/brunch place. But it is cute.

The atmosphere of Maplewood Kitchen is great and suitable for all types of groups or individuals. Going with coworkers, friends or even by yourself - the atmosphere is inviting. The food was delicious too. I had the veggie burger with no bun and would recommend it. A little disappointed it was fried but it was worth every bite! read more

Okay fellow reviewers, this is going to sound super cliche because of course I'm going to say this meal was by far the best breakfast meal I've ever had, but please read further to get the scoop on why this place stands out. It's no secret that breakfast food is pretty basic. Eggs, toast, some type of meat, maybe a pancake. Or it's safe to say that breakfast is almost always "country style" where everything is covered in gravy, and/or dripping in fat. (Which isn't a bad thing!) Classic diner breakfast. I feel that when you find a breakfast location that is doing things different, switching up flavors and textures, using really delicious and fresh ingredients, you have a recipe for deliciousness. This location is very similar to ordering at. Chipotle. Before you're seated, you're handed menus by the hostess where you then proceed to the line where you will decide what you'd like and then you place your order at the counter. You're either able to find your own seat after you've paid, or wait to be seated by another hostess. The location is super cute and quaint. The interior and exterior of the location are super chic and inviting. The most important part: THE FOOD! Can we take a second to appreciate the fact that they're creating their own juices? Please order at least one. We had the Sol Glo and that it does. Your taste buds will glow. The chicken hash literally does a dance on your taste buds. It is combined with really fresh and bright flavors and combined with amazing textures. It's served up with a perfectly cooked egg and a slice of baguette. The bistro steak and eggs was by far the most amazing breakfast steak I've ever had. The scrambled eggs were fluffy almost to where they felt silky but not undercooked. The steak was tender and so flavorful with the addition to the chimichurri sauce that was on top. The potatoes were cooked perfectly. Fluffy and soft inside, crisp on the outside. The locally produced butter and jam adds a nice touch to the whole meal. Last but not least, the lemon ricotta pancakes. If you're someone who is afraid of lemon, try this pancake. It will change your mind. The pancake was crisp along the edges but delicate and fluffy on the inside. The light texture of the ricotta makes for an extremely airy pancake and the lemon is so sweet and subtle it almost has a light Floral taste. This experience overall is one that everyone needs to have. Please make breakfast plans asap at Maplewood! You will not regret it! read more

Where do I start? This place lived up to the hype and may now be my favorite breakfast spot in Cincy (no disrespect Taste of Belgium, I still love you). I went early morning and they were packed! The line went quick and they have menus near the door so that you can decide on your meal before you get to the front. The staff was very friendly. They entice you with delicious treats at the register while you order, so of course I had to get the cornflake chocolate chip cookie. The thing was huge and delicious! I didn't want to finish it there, not only because I was stuffed, but I needed to experience my "first" bite again at a later date. I ordered the bistro steak and eggs and was very pleased! The steak was cooked perfectly medium-rare, the eggs had a perfect consistency of over-easy, and the toast with jam, where do I begin? The waitress at the bar said the jam was made up of a mixture of fresh berries and sugar, made fresh everyday. Needless to say I would make a trip to Cincinnati just for this breakfast. read more

"You have to go to Maplewood" we were told. The line all the way out the door suggested we should go to Maplewood. I think the charm of this place is the organic, farm to table, rustic chic. You're paying for ambiance and the quality of the ingredients. In most cases, I'm 100% okay with this. But here, I'm missing something. Why do I want to pay $50 for breakfast? $50 breakfast better be the most amazeballs breakfast I've ever had... and boy, it just wasn't. I am not a fan of waiting in a long line to order, then waiting in a long line to get a table. I don't like self service coffee and drinking stations. Is this Chipotle? Or are we a fairly fancy establishment? Also, no ice? Who doesn't have ice at their self serve station? And, "chilled water", no it was warm water that you put in a tiny glass. So when I needed a refill, I had to get up and walk to the other side of the restaurant to get more water. I grabbed two glasses for myself the next time. My husband had the steak and eggs, and I had the chicken bowl (I don't believe it was called that but I honestly don't remember the fancy name), and we tried the lemon ricotta pancakes because they're all over Yelp. The steak and eggs tasted like steak and eggs. The chicken in my dish was very gamey. It said pulled chicken. I honestly think it would have been better without the chicken because the flavors in the rest of the bowl were refreshing and crisp. The pancake was crispy, and had a slight lemon flavor. I wouldn't call it fluffy, and I wouldn't say it's heavy. It felt like a savory pancake, perhaps more like a potato pancake. The fruit on top consisted of literally 1 strawberry, 1 black berry, and 3 blueberries. Overall, long wait, weird set up, and a $25 breakfast we had the privilege to pay about $50 for once drinks and taxes were added to the bill. read more

Food was delicious!! The set up is different from your typical restaurant. You stand in line to order and pay first, then you're given a number on a stand - you then wait at a counter for a host to seat you when a table is available. While different - this setup worked really well! We went on a Friday at lunch time (right at 12:30) and it was PACKED. Despite being so busy, we got through the line to order fairly quickly - we were promptly seated - AND our food came out quickly. The food is a little lighter/healthier but don't mistake that for lacking flavor. Girlfriend got the blueberry granola pancakes and I got the spicy chicken sandwich. Girlfriend likened the pancakes to Le Peep in Indianapolis and rated them as perhaps slightly better (those are her favorite). My spicy chicken sandwich was unique, light, and bold in flavor - not very spicy though. Girlfriend got a cold pressed juice - she tried the sol glow (carrot, pineapple, ginger) - it was extremely smooth and quite tasty. I had a super greens margarita and it was okay. OH! We read someone else say the corn flake cookie was really good - it's true. Try one! $50 for 2 entrees, juice, cocktail, cookie...yeah we kind of have to roll ourselves out read more

I have had this place bookmarked for a long time and finally met a couple friends here on a Saturday morning. We arrived at 9:30 and it was not very busy yet. The decor is DE VINE! The mix of hollywood regency with industrial is really well done. Two of us arrived together, waiting on a third. The restaurant tables were mostly empty but we were told we could not sit at a table until all had arrived Since, annoyingly, there is no where to linger or sit while waiting we sat at the bar on the far side of the room and ordered coffee. Our third on the other hand had been told she COULD choose a table (and had arrived before we did) and luckily she noticed us sitting at the bar. So we proceeded to the go wait in line to order our food. The line moves very slowly. All kinds of open tables in this large space but this slow moving line seems to be jammed up with one person at the very front who collects all the orders and collects all the payments! One person who does it all. Two of us had our food delivered at the same time. The third person had ordered fruit and goetta and had to wait for goetta - so we waited as well. By the time her goetta arrived, our food was cold but honestly, even hot, the flavor of the food left both of us wanting. I had the avocado benedict ($10) and she had avocado toast - both quite meh. I know that the two of us who ordered entrees were really disappointed,; we both had been anticipating this place for some time! Too bad. read more

Amazing food! Amazing service! My husband and I fell in love with Cincinnati and this brunch place was one of the reasons. The line to order moves quickly-don't let it deter you. This place is SO good! We had planned on going for brunch (and still want to), but went for dinner. I can't express how great it was. They have a juice bar, and you can add booze to drinks. They also have chips and guacamole that were amazing. As far as meals we got the chicken hash, chopped salad, and burger - it was all amazing. Even though you order at the counter there were servers constantly making rounds and being attentive. There was also a self-serve water station that was great to have. Go for any meal! read more

Stopped in here for dinner before going to the karaoke bar next door. Love the atmosphere in this place, although in some ways, I feel that it tries a little too hard. A "Water Bar" may be unnecessary, but it's still a nice touch. I love the fact that you order at the counter and find a seat. My friends and I eat got something different from the menu, and we all loved it. I ordered the Guajillo Chicken Bowl, which was the perfect blend of flavors. Honestly, everything on the menu looked great. I am a huge fan of breakfast/brunch for dinner, but if that's not your cup of tea, you may want to look somewhere else for dinner options. For drinks, we ordered a pitcher of the Sol Diver. I really enjoyed it, but others in my group thought it was a bit bland. I think the fact that they have options of ordering pitchers a few different cocktails is nice. I might try something different next time. Overall if you're in the area, give this a try! I will be coming back here, hopefully next time for brunch. read more

This place just opened up maybe a few weeks ago and is already hoppin for Saturday brunch and I can see why - the way it works, you stand in line to place your order and then grab a table - the line can be intimidating but moves quickly. They also have full service at the bar so if you are solo or with one other person, that makes the most sense. Food: We ordered the Avocado Toast as an appetizer - FANTASTIC! It's avocado on multigrain topped with pistachios and drizzled with honey - do yourself a favor and get this while you wait for your food. I ordered Chicken Tinga - it was delicious and my friend got the Bistro Steak and Eggs - both plates were empty at the end! Drinks: We originally ordered one of their unique Mimosas - it was like a green juicer with champagne - bad combination - we also tried the tomatillo Bloody Mary - another bad combination - the staff had no issue bringing us something different - we landed on the Super Green Margarita - delish and a regular Bloody Mary - fantastic! Atmosphere: The vibe is wonderful - it's clean and the music is wonderful! Bottom Line: Go and you will not be disappointed! read more

Yum! Great experience. This place is HUGE! I just went with a friend for a later lunch and we really enjoyed ourselves. This place is really amazing inside - spacious, beautiful, well-decorated, and clean! You go up to the counter to order. They have a pretty vast menu that gives you plenty of options but is not overwhelming enough to where you can't decide. Staff was very friendly and our food came out quickly! My friend got the lemon ricotta pancakes which were really light and fluffy - you could definitely tell there's ricotta AND lemon in there - very pronounced flavors that didn't disappoint! I had the avocado toast which I like to make at home, but they did it better on 16 bricks toast with pistachios and honey. I also ordered the tomatillo Bloody Mary. Awesome! The glass was a foot and half tall! I was prepared to pay the $10 for a normal sized, delicious Bloody Mary but the size of this one made me feel like I got a great value. Can't wait to go back and bring even more people I know! --- Just some constructive criticism here (not enough to take the rating down), but in the Bloody Mary the tomatillo purée was very thick at the bottom of my glass, making the last 1/4 or so hard to drink, and I had to leave it in there though I would have liked to have the rest! In addition, I picked up a broken water glass. Not just a crack or chip, but a 2-inch gaping chunk missing which I gave to an employee to throw out. Just wanted to say be careful, or someone less cautious than I may have cut themselves! read more
