Cool set up. Went before a Bengals game for breakfast. Food was fantastic. Mimosa bottle added to the greatness.

Order food for take out! Small place but very cute and we loved the decor. Got the chicken club sandwich which came with a side salad, both were delish. Also got a lemon cookie , which I can't stop thinking about. It wasn't too sweet or have an overpowering lemon taste. read more

Where do I start? This restaurant is fabulous - sadly I am only in Cincinnati for another day, but I am thinking about going back for my fourth meal in 3 days at their restaurant. Ingredients are FRESH and oh so delicious. We have had breakfast there the last two days and happy hour/early dinner - and everything has been so tasty. The lemon hummus - perfection with a Pita (pita's were a little salty) but that was fine because we had this delicious Cucumber, fresh, yummy sangria drink - it was awesome! The burger was super tasty, although I am glad I shared it - quite a large portion. Now for breakfast - I had the steak and eggs yesterday and the blueberry granola pancakes today - YUM YUM YUM - very large portions and honestly I would like to go back a few more days to try the rest of the items! Oh last point - everyone here is so friendly - you order at the counter and go sit down, ambiance is great - the staff so welcoming and friendly! I will be back! read more

Five stars for the atmosphere. I love the decor and I think I may need to redecorate my kitchen now! They definitely spared no expense on the interior design for a sophisticated but casual feel. The food was great- I would also rate food a five star. I was there for breakfAst and had the chicken hash which was really good. I also had to try the lemon ricotta pancakes which were absolutely amazing. What I didn't enjoy was their process for seating. You have to go to the counter and order and then they seat you. It's serve yourself drinks at the fountain machine. So this works for Chipotle when I need a quick lunch. Im not going downtown, parking in a garage for a quick lunch. I just don't think the whole "fast casual" works for this setting. We were waiting for another person in our party to arrive, so we sat to wait. The host came and made us move. It was just inconvenient. Maplewood is a restaurant not "fast casual" eatery. The decor makes you want to stay. You want to sit and chat with your friends for brunch and not have to go refill your drink. Maplewood, face it, you are a regular restaurant. Just stop this whole fast casual thing. read more

Maplewood - Not waiting for long - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

We really enjoyed this place. We were in town for several days and were looking for a place for breakfast/brunch. The food was fresh and delicious. The place was clean and cool. The seating was abundant (we weren't there at a prime weekend time, this was mid-morning during the week) and the service was really friendly. We all had excellent meals and have nothing to complain about. The only thing I'd caution you on is the prices for the fresh juice. WOWZA! It was like buying a beer at a sporting event. You might need a mortgage for those things. A good time and good food. read more

Really cool space and really cool vibe. I loved the playlist! I love that you order in line--panera style. We came for dinner, but I definitely want to come back to try the brunch. Papardelle was delicious, the lemon cookie was delicious, sol glow juice was amazing, and al pastor tacos were phenomenal. The beans with the tacos were ok. The veggie burger was also delicious, as well as the straw fries that they serve. Overall, great service, great food, great vibe. I will definitely be returning. read more

We wanted to grab a bite before the Reds baseball game, I had Maplewood in my Yelp bookmarks, 1+1=2. Walking in, I loved the decor with whites all around, and bright bold blues and yellows to accent. Wood tables about with comfy seating options (wooden chairs, cloth padded booths, high-top seats at the bar). The big windows looking out on the downtown street encompassed their urban vibe well. The menu, clipped onto wooden clipboards in a basket by the ordering counter, was good on the options. PS, not sure why they don't also have menus by the front door. I would have been able to decide what I want to eat BEFORE I was the next patron standing in front of the register figuring out my options; just a suggestion. After you order, customers are given a flashing vibrating pager, and the food runners bring your food to your table. I got both the Lemon Hummus and Guacamole appetizers. The hummus had a lemon pucker, maybe more chickpea flavor, less lemon pop, I would have fell completely in love. I'm not a fan of crisped pita chips to go with hummus, period, so that was a personal frown. Warm, soft pita is my kryptonite. Now, the guacamole? TAY-STAAAAAY! The hujass chicks of avocado. Oh my gosh, Becky. Perfect amount of garlic, onion and lemon juice. Chips were ok. Some had the almost slightly on the day old thing going. I was glad I stopped @ Maplewood. They have their own separate coffee bar, and make their own fresh-pressed juices. I'd be glad to stop in again, should I be in the downtown Cincy area. read more

I would return to Cincinnati just for this breakfast! I walked to this lovely, bright, clean, welcoming restaurant from 21C Hotel. The service was exemplary across the board! Ordering was quick and easy. My food arrived quickly and at perfect temperatures. The self-serve coffee was delicious and plentiful. I was able to fill a bottle with my choice of still or sparkling water on tap. I'm a sucker for sparkling water, so I found this perk especially pleasing! My food was delicious. I ordered a Greek yogurt and berries (I'm picky, y'all. The mix of strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries were perfect-not old or unripe. They were perfect for eating right that minute!!), a side of applewood bacon (4 perfectly crisp strips!), and a side of lemon ricotta pancake because I couldn't visit this place and not taste that dish. Everything was so, so good. I found the prices very reasonable, particularly given the high quality of the food!! I will definitely return to this delightful spot on my next trip to Cincinnati. My only regret is that I only ate there once! read more

I had to chuckle to myself comparing my breakfast the day before (Cracker Barrel) with my experience here. Totally opposite in every way (well...expect for maybe the loudness factor). More about that later. Great location right in the heart of downtown (across from Macy's). On a staycation, I wanted a new breakfast experience, instead of our usual. So I pulled up Yelp and found Maplewood. The reviews are awesome, so good they're almost hard to believe it would live up to it's hype. But it did. And then some... As you enter, there's a drink cart with fresh healthy juices (Kale, carrot, etc) and coffee. Nice! Then you grab a menu and head down the line. I had read about the cookies, and although I had no intention of indulging, I did when I saw the Lemon. It was more like a muffin top than a cookie, in a good way. And it was nice to have something to munch on while we waited for the main event. As others have said, you place your order, are given a number and find a seat. I was dying to try the steak and eggs, and assumed Bob would order them and I could go with the avacado eggs benedict. But he didn't...opting instead for bacon and eggs. So I had to get them. I had to. And these are nothing like the steak and eggs you get on special in Vegas at 2 a.m. These could be served in a 5 star establishment. Which this is...on Yelp!!! Well deserved. Only two small complaints - serving sizes are so large that one plate is enough for two. If you can agree which Bob and I never do! And it is loud. The open ceiling trends of today really compound the problem. But better loud here than in a "meh" type of place. I can't wait to eat here again. Yes...it's that good. read more

This is one of my favorite brunch places to go when I have visitors in town! It's in a desirable downtown location, so with that being said be sure to leave time to park! Once you arrive there's usually a line to order food! That's right your order before you sit down! However once you order and pay you hang out at a "waiting table" until a host or waiter seats you! I'm guessing that's to ensure a group of two doesn't take a table of six! Once seated, your food is brought to the table. Easy enough. Now on to the food. Everything is farm to table which is a pleasant treat. But my favorite? I LOVE that chicken tinga. So much so I always forget to take a photo!! It's one of their most popular dishes and I'm so glad it was recommended to me. I've also tried their bowls and those have been great as well. Finally, they have really good drink options, but as a water fan I love that they offer sparkling or still! Lastly, the indoor decor is so nice!! Check out others photos! It's very spacious with great natural light and windows. Highly recommend for brunch with a small or large group!! And I personally think it's a nice place to take visitors. read more

I was in Cincy not too long ago and needed a brunch place, and Maplewood was around the corner from my hotel and advertised mimosas while you wait. Sold. What I got was a fantastic looking place with lovely mimosas, kick a$$ food and awesome customer service. Wow... this place was just what I needed to start my day off right. After stopping at the door and getting a mimosa, we walked up and grabbed a clipboard that was attached to a railing to look at the menu. I couldn't decide on what to get, so I ended up with the Chicken Tinga and a side of the Lemon Ricotta pancakes, both recommended by others on Yelp and did not disappoint. While we were placing our order and paying at the register, someone came up and took our number and pointed to a table where she placed our number. We stopped by the water bar where we chose between still, chilled or sparking water and then went to the table with a great view of the restaurant and the street. The food was quick to arrive and was A-MAZING. Seriously, if Indy had something like this, I'd be there every week. I ate as much as I could, but there was simply too much food and I had to wave goodbye to it as they took it away. Yum-O! read more

This place has a modern feel from the moment you walk in, with exposed pipes on the ceiling and hanging plants. You wait in line to order at the register, someone finds you an open table, and then your food is brought to you. It's an efficient system and gives you time to look at the fresh baked goods and fresh juices along the way. Between us, we got the smores cookie, Bloody Mary and veggie burger. The smores cookie was crispy on the edges and perfectly chewy in the middle. It was loaded top to bottom with chocolate and marshmallows. The Bloody Mary was big and full of horseradish flavor which was not quite our style. The veggie burger came on a buttery roll and had good texture and flavor. There are a number of sides available from fresh fruit to fries, depending on your preference! It's a busy place but we loved the service and food! read more

Maplewood - Maplewood Hash! - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Cincinnati, Ohio

I have been to Maplewood a few times. Overall I find it enjoyable with a few things I do not enjoy. Pros: - The food is really, really good. I have had breakfast entrees, grilled cheese, and a burger. All are really top notch. The side salad that you can get with a sandwich is really good. The fries are fine, but because they are thin cut, they get cold quickly (not the fault of the restaurant) - The atmosphere is nice, I like the openness - Paying in advance is convenient Cons: - The price point is a bit high ($16 for a burger and iced tea). I also in general hate the stress of tipping when you pay in advance but you haven't gotten service rendered yet. Like they are "just" bringing food to the table is that 10%? 20%? If it's 20% then it's about $20 for a burger with a side salad and iced tea where I didn't get true table service. - The seating situation is not my favorite, where you are guided right next to other people. I understand, it is crowded, but I still would rather find my own seat. I recognize that is more on me than them. read more

We were in Cincinnati for a day and I saw that this place had fresh juice so I picked it for brunch. When we walked in, we were greeted by a host making mimosas. He explained that we were to grab a menu and wait in line. We could get mimosas to drink during our wait. We did not but it looked like they took your glass at the register to pay. When you get to the register, you order and then wait to be seated. They have a nice drink station. We were seated after a short wait and our food came out quickly. I got the Power Bowl and I'm so glad I did. Fresh, organic ingredients and very nutritious as well! The restaurant is very modern and it's beautiful. I loved the open windows and classic look. It was kept clean in the dining area and in the restrooms. It was busy, but the service was still amazing. The staff are walking around and clearing plates often. I also picked up beet juice and blackberry lemonade for later. They were both very tasty. read more

This was the first stop my boyfriend and I made when visiting Cincinnati -- definitely set the bar high for all the eateries we visited throughout the rest of the trip! We're both from LA, so we have pretty high brunch expectations, but Maplewood met and exceeded all of them! I love the ambience of the place and the decor sure is beautiful. It's an order at the counter place, the prices are reasonable, and service is great. There's a self-serve water station, with still, chilled, and sparkling options. According to other reviews we read, this place can get quite crowded, but on an early Thursday morning, there was no wait! I had the avocado benedict with a side of lemon ricotta pancakes and my boyfriend had the chicken tinga. Avocado Benedict: Looks small, but is actually pretty filling! It's toast covered with avocado, asparagus, and two poached eggs. Add some more pepper and hot sauce and you're set! I also loved the green sauce/salsa thing it comes with -- it's a light, tangy flavor that goes well with the avocado and asparagus. Lemon Ricotta Pancakes: Perfection!! The side was $4 and comes with two pancakes covered with strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and kiwi. It also comes with butter and a mixed berry compote to spread and maple syrup. If you're not a huge lemon fan, don't be turned off right away! The lemon flavor is very light Chicken Tinga: Good serving size, very flavorful. My boyfriend said it tasted like fancy Chipotle mixed together on a tostada (which is a good thing because he loves Chipotle). Not too greasy/oily, great if you want a more hearty option! Definitely will be back for a later in the day boozey brunch if I'm ever back in Cinci! I want to try the cucumber sangria or the mimosas made with their fresh pressed juice so many people on Yelp have been raving about! read more

Honestly the set up is a very love or hate it. The food was good/okay. Seams like it could be very good or very bad and it's a 50/50 either way. Still it's part of Thunderdome group so the quality is there. Service was kind and ambiance is a upscale brunch. read more

If I could award higher than a five star I would! We had an awesome brunch experience here. I only wish I had time to return and try more menu items. I had difficulty in deciding on what to order. The cashier knew his menu and suggested the Avocado Benedict. I am so glad he did! The taste and presentation of my dish was that of a trained experienced chef. My poached eggs were perfect. The asparagus was chopped and blended well with the other flavors in the dish. The avocado and avocado puree on the plate was divine! The diner itself was very pretty and sterile looking. It was decorated with soothing artwork on a relaxing color scheme. It was also decorated with life- hanging baskets of ferns and green plants hung above. There were decorative arrangements of succulents on the table. Everything just looked and felt clean. The staff was most attentive. They kept our drinks filled and our empty plates removed. We were asked multiple if our meal was good or if we needed anything. It was obvious they really cared. The price wasn't bad considering the quality of food they presented, the opulence of the dining area, and the level of professionalism of the staff. This place was wonderful. read more

I've been dying to get here and today I got my chance. The concept is kind of old school lunchroom style. You order at the front and they find you a table and bring the food right to you. The decor is awesome. Very beautiful setup. Light and crisp. The greenery is a nice touch. Since I cam At lunch (on a Wednesday) it was crazy crowded! I got the Maplewood Burger. My coworker followed suit. She looooved hers. I did not. It wasn't bad just not my favorite. Next time I want to try breakfast/brunch and get the Lemon Ricotta pancakes. They looked amazing and HUGE! OverAll a nice spot and I plan to come check It out again. Also want to try the neighboring places, Americana and Mitas. read more

I'm so glad I finally got to try this place! We came here with a group of friends for dinner. From the moment I walked in I was excited to be here. The location is also conveniently located to be in between downtown fountain square and OTR (about 5 blocks away) if you wanted to walk around afterwards like we had done. From the decor and ambiance to the service, the whole experience was great. The decor is mainly natural colors with a ton of white and tanish color combinations. The tables are adorable finished greyish-tan wood with some marble around and the lighting is moderate and charming. Definitely a great date night ambiance. I started off with a drink at the bar while waiting for the rest of my party to arrive. I ordered the cucumber sangria per the bartenders suggestion and I was NOT disappointed. If you love cucumber flavors like me, this drink is perfect. The lemon and cucumber combo balances the sweeter white wine. I tried a few of the drinks my friends got as well and the cocktails were all served with great presence and tasted refreshing. This place looks like a fancy restaurant with the decor but it's more a fancy self serve restaurant where you wait in line and order whatever you'd like. Then they bring the food out to you. They come by refilling water but any drinks and things you want you order at the checkout counter. I had ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with the potato salad. My sandwich tasted delectable! The flavors were juicy and worked well together. The cole slaw balanced the spiced chicken so it actually didn't taste spicy at all. I was looking for some more spice but I wasn't complaining because it taste so amazing. The potato salad was also mixed with some green beans and had a mildly sweet and sour flavor to the sauce on top. Definitely paired well with my sandwich. I wanted to try something other than the typical fries with my sandwich and I wasn't disappointed. Everyone at our table was satisfied with their meal. The veggie burger and the tacos were all delicious and there wasn't a single thing left on anyone's plate at the end. The taco plates come with 4 tacos which fills you up. A friend of ours also got he snores cookie to share with the table and I have to say that was probably the best cookie I've had. They have it toasted to perfection that it's flaky and crunchy when you bite into it. It wasn't too sweet and was chewy, which I love! The prices for the menu items are very reasonable and everything for the most part is about $11-15 which is not bad for the proportions. The cocktails are pricier at about $10-12, but no different than some other restaurants. Overall, I love this place and am excited to come back and try the brunch. I was looking for another brunch place downtown to go to on the weekends aside from Nation so I'm glad this place exists. I had looked at the brunch menu and my mouth was watering so I'll definitely be back soon. read more

Can't say enough great things about this place! Went here for a late brunch so it wasn't busy when we went but I could see this place getting crazy during peak brunch hours. My boyfriend and I both got the chicken hash, which had goetta in it. No one told me about goetta before I came to Cincinnati but it's a delicious mix of sausage, spices and oats. Definitely worth trying if you're an out of town-er like me! When you come in you order and get a number and find a table to sit at. Super cozy feel to this place. Portions here were great and reasonably priced! We both loved the chicken hash but the lemon ricotta pancakes were my favorite! They also have sugar free syrup if you ask and are friendly to substitutions (I got egg whites instead of eggs on the chicken hash). Would definitely come back! read more

This is a fun place in Downtown Cincinnatti. The atmosphere is charming and lends to a relaxed feel as you dine. The food was very good. I had the chicken tinga and it was tasty. My wife had the lemon ricotta pancakes and they were good pancakes though we could not taste lemon. They were good though and the portion was large. This place has a different way of ordering, IMHO. Stand in line, order at the counter and pay for order and tip. Do NOT expect to be in line less than 15 minutes. Brunch for one - I found myself with some solo time in Cincinnati before a wedding and had a number of recommendations to check out Maplewood. I was not disappointed. The menu was very difficult to choose from because all of their options sounded delicious. I went with the Guajillo Chicken Bowl. It was filled with an assortment of flavors and textures. The chicken had some heat to it but was mellowed out by the fresh avocado and acid from the onions. The corn was sweet and the grains provided a nice balance. We have been to Maplewood several times now and we love the food. It's fresh and healthy options, which sometimes are hard to find in breakfast food. A few things keeping me from a 5 star review: - they are ALWAYS out of juices. We've been at different times of the day and there are never any juices available - we went on a Saturday to eat, showed up at 12:30 and the line was to the door. We weren't too worried as this usually takes about half an hour to get to the register. However, it was nearly 1:30 by the time we ordered and 2:10 before our food came. It was insane. We were starving by the time we ate. All the while we waited in line we counted at least 5 tables open. The line moved so slow. They need an extra register to fill the tables that are available and get people fed faster. We probably won't be back for a while with that slow of service. read more

Another Tag I have been wanting to try. I had to stay downtown over a weekend for an event so felt it the perfect time to try it. The atmosphere is very "yuppy'ish" and modern. The place was bustling so I ate at the bar. I asked for a beer menu and was told it was on the board on the wall. Sitting at a place not able to see it, I had to get up and walk over to it. I'm not a fan of beer menus on the wall. Especially if the menu cannot be easily seen by everyone. That alone limited my beer drinking to one. I then ordered their vegetarian burger and fries. The fries are the skinny kind. It was good but definitely not the best I have had around town. It easily fell apart. Overall it was an OK visit. I'm glad I went and gave it a try. It's now your turn. :-) read more

This is probably the coolest food establishment i have been to in a while! From ordering to receiving food, Maplewood does it different in a good way. Almost everything they serve is fresh homemade, organic, cage free, grass fed, etc. I normally am not one to seek out these kinds of places but after eating heavy greasy foods all week we wanted to try it out and lemme tell you, It did not disappoint! You walk up to order and pay for your meal and then you can sit wherever you'd like. I love this because you don't have to wait around for a server to bring you your check. We ordered coffees to drink and a barista brought them out almost immediately. Our food was brought out shortly after and it looked amazingly Presentation is huge here you can tell. I swear we didn't even have to wait more than 10 minutes for everything. The food was delicious, coffee was fantastic, service was mind blowing. I will definitely be back because i know they can deliver high quality food in a such a short amount of time. I left here very impressed! It is definitely worth the money and the wait if there ever is one. This isn't just going out to eat, it's a full & necessary experience! read more

I went back last Sunday for brunch and as expected there was a long line. But what I didn't expect and wasn't happy about was that there was only one person at the register taking orders and there were plenty of empty tables. It wasn't until 20 minutes later that they added a second person at the registers which helped get the line moving. My friends visiting from San Fransisco were really confused by the empty tables and the long lines. I got a Super Greens salad which was good. And I had to get the lemon ricotta pancakes which were a highlight the last time I came. We got a pitcher of the cucumber sangria to share. If you're looking for something boozy, I would choose something else. It tasted like a regular green juice. A gorgeous place but the whole experience is still a little lackluster. read more
