I understand why this place has so many 5 star reviews. It's fantastic!! The exterior is just glass and blends into the other buildings, but when you walk inside, it's beautiful! High ceilings, light and minimalist decor, tons of seating, and a bar?? It's what First Watch wants to be - like it went through Extreme Makeover Restaurant Edition. There's a path to the front lined with menus so you can order when you get to the register. I ordered the chicken tinga and orange juice. I'm not really a pulp in my juice type of person, but I may be converted! It was very refreshing and the perfect sweetness. As for the meal, wowwww. When I sliced into the egg, the yolk ran so nicely! I forgot to say no jalepeños, so I was nervous it would be too spicy, but it was barely noticeable. It had a pleasantly mild taste. The chicken was ridiculously tender too. Service was great and the food was exquisite! This takes the spot for my #1 breakfast place. I'm obsessed! read more

Perfectly cute spot to grab breakfast before the game. Quick walk from our hotel. Great service. The menu has tons of options. The portions were a nice size and priced reasonably. Not in Cincinatti often, but would come back if I were to visit again. read more

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this place!! The food is amazing, the service is great and the ambience is lively. There is something for everyone here! I come here at least once every time I am on town. So glad to know that this is the first week they have reopened after 18 months and things are somewhat returning to normal. It's really tough choosing what to order as everything is delicious. Ultimately, I chose the Vegan Bowl this time with added grilled short rib...because let's face it - I like my meat! The beets, smoky roasted corn, creamy avocado, crunchy green beans, and seasoned heirloom tomatoes mixed with brown rice and quinoa and super tasty beef - JUST PERFECTION!! Filling and fresh! A bit long of a wait but soooo worth it! Come and enjoy - thank me later! read more

This is a wonderful spot to grab breakfast or lunch. You order at the counter, get a number, and they bring your food to your table. It's casual in its ordering style, but the decor is beautiful, modern, and open. Coffee is self-serve, so I was able to get multiple refills. The bar/coffee area is beautiful. Food is delicious and decently priced. Staff was friendly. read more

This place was recommended by a friend and I tell you we were not disappointed. The food was amazing for myself and co-worker. The restaurant atmosphere is nice and the service was good. We both agree we would come back. Just one note for 1st timers, they take your order before seating you, so be sure to look over the menu prior to coming. Definitely if you in the area stop by. read more

I walked to this place because it was close to my hotel. I was greeted outside the door by a friendly young woman who handed me a clip board and explained how to order. I went up to the counter and asked a few more questions about the menu. I decided on the avocado Benedict with a side of bacon. It was outstanding! The eggs were poached perfectly and went well with their unique version of hollandaise. And the booths all have power outlets (and USB too) they thought this through very well. Give it a try. It's really good. read more

This has been our fourth visit to Maplewood and they never disappoint. Their lemon cookies are the best I have ever had. It was early and the cookies were not finished yet! Eric made sure that we got our cookies before we left. The chilaquiles and shakshuka are always on point!! read more

Found a cute lunch spot within walking distance of the convention center (approximately 3 min walk). This place is so stinking cute! Use the right door to enter and grab a menu. Once you get to the front, you place your order and then put your menu in the basket. Love the mix of causal and cute with a sit down vibe. My colleagues and I ordered the chopped salad and the goddess greens. You can add a protein - various skewers are available. I ordered the salmon skewers! They were made perfectly and a great add on to my goddess greens salad. To start, we got the chips and guacamole. Everything was delivered to our booth except beverages. There is a water/drink station, which I love! You can fill a bottle with water or just a glass. This made it easy for our table. After you're finished eating, the restaurant team will take your plates. Nice blend of self server and dine in restaurant. Definitely would come here again! read more

I loveeee Maplewood Kitchen and Bar! The food is excellent and I feel transported when entering the restaurant. It's so beautiful inside and I always cherish the times I can attend lunch or dinner. I liked the vibe here. The staff was friendly and accommodating . Lots of interesting combos for a brunch type meal. I stood in line for awhile just thinking about options. I ended up with the roasted chicken sandwich w/ aioli it came with a side salad I added fries, and a double chocolate cookie for later. The cookie was packaged in one of those paper bags and I actually ordered the last one. My tip: If you see it as you go through the line order it . It may not be there later. It was a hearty sandwich with a bit of a surprise inside . As I was chewing I bit down on a green bean and when I opened the top of the sandwich I saw two more.I'm used to greens in Cali, but I've never had green beans in a chicken sandwich . Ohio thing? I got a bottled, pressed ,orange juice too for $6 . If I'm ever in the area I'm going to order the lemon ricotta pancakes I was able to try a piece and it was good. read more

My friends and I visited Maplewood Kitchen and Bar for Saturday brunch. The restaurant style is you order and pay first then seat yourself. I ordered the Chicken Hash which was okay. They forgot I requested a fried egg and had to recook the poached one they brought out. The chicken was a little dry and not seasoned enough. Overall the food was okay. My friend really liked the omelette and the pancakes were good. There was no table service. If you wanted to order anything or get a refill on a drink you have to go to the bar. They have a water station in the back for you to get water also. I wasn't that impressed and would likely not be returning. read more

Everything here was really good and there's so much seating and the place is so well done. Definitely want to come back! Service is good here just a little tricky cause you order as you walk in and then sit down so if something doesn't come out right or you're missing something it's hard to flag someone down to get what you need. read more

The Irish coffee and spicy Bloody Mary were tasty. The hash was delicious. The sunny side up eggs cooked to perfection. Hence, no photo of the hash! Busy morning with no bartender at 9. Maplewood is very cute inside. The concept reminds me SO much of Northstar Cafe in Columbus. I ordered the omelette that come with a salad. The omelette was hearty and filled up, which I love. The salad was kinda lame :( Not a big portion and not enough dressing. I would've enjoyed a different side. There wasn't a waiter who checks on you and I was stuck in the middle of a big booth of eight so I sucked it up. I tried my friends pancakes which were huge and tasted great. I would definitely order those next time. Overall, cute but busy place, cool menu, and skip the salad! read more

Wow! I was in Cincinnati, overnight for work, and looking for somewhere nearby for lunch. So glad that I chose this place! I arrived just before the lunch crowd, ordered at the counter, given a number, and found a nice table by the window. My food arrived a short time later. The Mediterranean bowl was excellent. Brown rice/quinoa mix, fresh tomatoes, sliced radishes, yummy hummus, topped with crunchy chickpeas. I also added chicken. The combination was delicious, each ingredient was flavorful and plentiful. There were so many tasty options on the menu, I would absolutely return! read more

I came in here off the recommendation of a coworker and Yelp reviews. Up front, I have to say I wasn't super impressed...it wasn't bad, but it also wasn't great. I walked up to order my food and I was literally the only person in line, there were 2 people behind the counter and they both ignored me for about 2 minutes. After I was finally acknowledged they said "hold on a minute, someone will be along to help you..." and walked off. Another 2-3 minutes goes by and a lady finally walks up, but doesn't even say hello to me, she just started messing around with the register. FINALLY she greets me and asks what I'd like, but not in a very friendly way. I order the eggs my way and ask for a water as well. She doesn't even hear me because she handed me my order number and walked off. Customer service was very poor! The food came out pretty quick and the presentation was good, although the description said 3 eggs and it looked like there was barley 1 there. Bacon was good, thick cut and tasty. The hash browns were crispy and good. The toast looked like it was maybe 2 inches by 2 inches, incredibly small pieces. All the food items were tasty and I enjoyed it overall, just wish there was more. I never did get my water, and I never got to ask for one after I sat down because no one was around to ask, or even ask how everything was. I can't say this was a great experience, and honestly next time I'm around here I'll probably look somewhere else to eat. read more

This restaurant is set up so that your party orders at together at the counter and receives one number for the table, yet each person in the party can pay their portion separately. Once you get your number, you bring it to a table (we were told which table to sit at) and a server brings your food to you once it is prepared. We were asked several times if we had ordered and why we were sitting at the booth we were, so it seems like the servers and cashiers might need to work on their communication to avoid any confusion in the future. Other than that, food was delicious and came out not long after ordering. Everything was flavorful and the portion sizes were generous. I would love to come back when I'm in town again and try something new! read more

The food was a m a z i n g. Not a food that you can get easily from a restaurant. It had a combination of western style + little bit of Asian + little bit of Mexican feeling, which was very nice. The only downside was the egg. I usually like it sunnyside up, but the egg was just too dry. Not because of the yolk, but the egg itself was very dry. Water/drink is self served, which I like because I drink a lot of water, and sometime I get thirsty when our server doesn't come to our table often. It was a pleasant experience that we were able to enjoy our food without worrying about things like that. The view/mood is excellent as well. read more

I loved this place! If I could decorate my apartment like this I would, but sadly I can't because I don't own my apartment It had a contemporary, modern, minimalist look. When you walk in, I was unsure if you got seated or had to walk up. There were a group of women in front of us just standing. I think my brother has been to this place before so he knew you had to walk up. We ended up asking the women if we could walk around them. When we did, they didn't know either about going up to order. So TIP: Walk up. You order first. If you're dining in, they give you a buzzer and tell you to wait by this long standing table across from the ordering area because someone will seat you. Suggestion for business: Perhaps place stools or a bench but for those that need to sit. We were with our parents and they wouldnt be able to stand for more than 10 minutes. Luckily, we didn't have to wait for a table and got seated immediately. If you order coffee, they give you mugs and you serve yourself from 3 choices of coffee. Water was also serve yourself. They provide glasses and empty glass bottles that you can fill up and bring to the table. I loved being able to pick between sparking, still, and cold water. They even had lemons slices there. My parents were confused as to why I was the one serving them their coffee and water I said they should tip me. FOOD: the real reason you are reading this. Chicken Tinga Chicken Hash (without goetta) Pastel Omelet Ponzu Salmon Bowl Extra Hash Brown Chicken Tinga: My Dad got this dish. He's not a very critical man when it comes to food. He liked it, but wasn't impressed much. I don't eat meat so I can't elaborate on this dish. Pastel Omelet: I really liked it. I loved the asparagus; it was different. There was a little oil water coming out from the mushroom but it didn't make the dish taste bad. It just wasn't visually appealing. Coffee: Great! All of them! Free refills so go try! Chicken Hash (without Goetta): because Goetta is made from pig and we don't eat pork or anything from a pig. My brother said it was good. It was a decent size dish, but nothing too special. Ponzu Salmon Bowl: My Mom actually loved it. I loved that it had bok choy. I ate all of those leafy greens from my mom's bowl LOL If I'm ever in Cincinnati, I would probs go here again! read more
