Very misleading advertising. Different prices than advertised online and tried to tack on a bunch of fees and extras

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly-An optimistic look at this location…read more The goods are their service was great though there was some light wait time and the trucks (vans and etc) are clean and fine. Checkout and drop off is smooth and easy. They gave me a great rate on a smaller "rig" after a little issue came up. Oh, and you can get soda, candy and everything else while you wait in the convenience store. The bad was that they store the trucks and etc. about half a block from the storefront (which is non-existent). So you go behind the auto shop/gas station/convenience store and go walk past the garbage bins, down a trail through the trees and past an entirely different "mini mall"-crossing a minor street to a gravel parking lot. The ugly was, once I arrived and got into the "Big-Rig" I found that both side mirrors were broken-SMASHED! Crazy! I called up and they decided to try to switch these mirrors with another truck-didnt work...the short of it, I was given a smaller vehicle and made late to the "big move". I guess there are some punks vandalizing the parking lot on occasion...but why wasnt the truck checked out prior to me getting there? There wasnt another truck in the size I reserved at this location...the next closest was too far and they wanted me to go down and get it. They have a company sign at the street-but I was pretty clueless where to actually get the vehicle...its inside the gas station, kinda. So why do they receive the standard (three stars)? because through it all they had fine service and the product was fine.

The uhaul agent at this chevron location charged me extra fees 2 times for no good reason. 1st time…read morewas last year 2023 and I didn't leave any review about it, but since its happening again, I decided to mention both cases. The 1st one was a charge for gas fill up. I showed the uhaul agent at chevron that the gas reading recorded by the pickup agent (a day before) was wrong and that agent wrote her number and signed on this mistake and she wrote the correct info in the form. When I dropped the uhaul truck and I explained to him the issue, and showed him the signed forms and pictures of the gas gauge, he said yes its ok. 30 mins later after I left the store I got a notice from my bank about $66 charge. I called him back and called uhaul customer service, and after some fight back and forth again and again, they decided to refund me, which took 5 business days to complete. 2nd time is yesterday when I dropped the vehicle at the same location and again today I got charged $20 extra, for "some fee", I was surprised as I took the vehicle yesterday and returned it the same day yesterday, while they considered it an Out of Hour return fees, while I expect to pay less, returning the truck in few hours instead of keep it for 24 hour. This could be there in their policy, but how would I know if the agent does not say anything about it, and expecting me to read the notes they have on the outside keys drop off box? It was raining bad outside, while the agent inside only pointed me out to drop the keys over there without telling me that I need to use their uhaul App to do a service checkout. I admit that I could be at fault not knowing their rules, but when there is an extra charge, aren't the uhaul agent supposed to be transparent in explaining such fees upfront? It should not be "You need to know our rules, everyone is treated the same" statement that I got from the uhaul agent. You lost my business forever. extra bonus: they asked me to drop the truck at their lot about quarter a mile away and return to drop off the keys. They told me the gate is closed so you can leave it there outside, no issue. When I reached the lot, there was a person - white old male showed up (seems kinda pissed off), and told me in a rude voice that I cannot leave the vehicle here, and I need to drop it somewhere a little bit far. Then he started harassing me when he noticed that I have an English accent, and asking me where I am from and why I am here in the US, and asking me "Be good to my country", and to vote "Republican". Anyways I tried to avoid him and I told the agents at the chevron about this, and they told me he is "Crazy person", while I am pretty sure he was not.

Terrible experience…read more We booked a 16 foot truck online on Thursday night for a Saturday rental. When we show up on Saturday they only have a 20 foot truck for us (mistake #1). Okay fine. We sign the contract and drive off. 10 minutes later we get a call from the office saying they need the truck back because they mistakenly rented it to us, when it was reserved for someone else (mistake #2). We tell them that doesn't work for us because we need to move our stuff today and have a babysitter watching our kids. The lady tells us she'll make some calls and call us back. We keep going. We get a call 20 minutes later, when we are on I-405 headed to Seattle, this time telling us they definitely need the truck back (mistake #3). Really? That's the solution? So now instead for inconveniencing one customer, you think it's a good idea to inconvenience two customers???? You don't solve a mistake by making another mistake, but somehow that was the solution for them. We were under no obligation to return a truck since we had a rental contract to have that truck for the day, but lucky for them we did. They told us we could get a 16 foot truck from the Tacoma location. Oh okay, that's a great solution when you have a babysitter for a limited amount of time, and would have to return the truck by 6pm, which would not leave us enough time to get to Seattle, load our stuff, drive back to Maple Valley, move our stuff in, then drive back to Tacoma. Must have been a joke? They wasted our time and money, made their mistake our problem, offered no reasonable solution or any form of credit.

We had hoped to rent a moving truck yesterday, so I called Penske. It rang and rang, and then a…read morerecording told me the local establishment wasn't available, so they transferred me to a national number. I asked the national rep if we could get a truck, and he told me that I needed to create an account. After giving my name, I said, "Wait, why do I need to create an account to find out if a truck is available and how much it would cost?" He reluctantly told me the costs ($49.99 for the rental, but about $75 for the day with all the fees and mileage to drive 15 miles), but couldn't tell me whether I could get a truck. So we drove to our local Penske Truck Rental, where two women were in the office. One glared at us, as if we were rudely interrupting or something, and the other told us they had no trucks for yesterday, probably not for today, and maybe for next weekend, but we've have to create an account for her to check. At that point we left and drove to Uhaul, which was night and day different (see that review).
