This was my first time at Mantis, and Juni did an excellent job. She was welcoming, friendly, and attentive. At the same time, she allowed me to relax in a quiet space. I will be going back next month. read more

Amazing prenatal massage! It was relaxing and also very intense because she was able to get deep into the areas that needed some extra relief. I was side laying, that's what I prefer and it was a dream. I will definitely be coming back!! read more

Mantis Massage - Massage room - Massage Near Me - Austin, Texas

I highly recommend Mantis Massage. I loved my prenatal massage with Kimberly! Looking forward to my next visit!

No frills massage but it was probably the best massage I've had in Austin. Just straight to it which I appreciate. Back and shoulders feeling a lot better these days. Nice atmosphere inside as well. Checkin was easy and quick too. read more

Best massage I've ever had. Ruthie was incredible and really listened to me and addressed everything. I hesitate recommending her because I want to keep her for my own little secret but she's amazing! read more

Audrey was absolutely wonderful, she was friendly, professional, and made me feel comfortable from the moment I arrived. The massage itself was excellent and she clearly knew how to find the areas that needed the most attention. What made the experience even more meaningful was that I had received news of loss that day and my day felt completely ruined. Somehow she managed to turn it around. I left feeling not only physically relieved, but emotionally lighter as well. She brought a calm, kind energy to the session, and I really appreciated the care she put into her work. I would definitely recommend Audrey to anyone looking for a great massage and a genuinely positive experience read more

This was hands down the best massage I've ever had! Jen is incredibly talented, intuitive, and knew exactly how to address the back pain I'd been struggling with for the past two weeks. I left feeling so much better and can't wait to book my next appointment. I feel like I won the lottery finding this place! read more

Kimberly... ashiatsu... deep work. I loved it. i was pretty out of if for awhile after, it was so intense. But not painful. Just lots of tension released and then I was in such a state of relaxation, I was happy to have a ride home and not drive!! I can't wait to go back. read more

Kimberly at Mantis Massage is amazing. She's welcoming and has a calm energy that really helped me feel comfortable with my first massage in a few years. She is very skilled in Ashiatsu and was able to adjust her pressure intuitively, keeping the massage both therapeutic and enjoyable throughout. The facility was clean and has a lovely, light scent (nothing overwhelming or strong). I really appreciated the available robe that allowed me a quick restroom visit after I'd already undressed. There was ample parking and I appreciated the added security of their policy to keep the door locked so only those with appointments are let in. I highly recommend Mantis Massage generally, and Kimberly specifically for anyone needing an experienced and healing touch. read more

Ambience setting was wonderfully peaceful, felt relaxed and safe while getting my first massage. Left feeling relaxed, refreshed and renewed. read more

Visited Mantis as I had terrible pain on my Deltoid. Janice knew her job very well and explained during the entire process of the sports massage. In 2 days the pain where I couldn't move my hand has gone completely. They know what they are doing. Very rare to come across such places. read more

I had a 60-minute massage at Mantis, and the experience was disappointing. When booking, it's unclear whether you'll get an advanced therapist or not--it's essentially a gamble. I was charged the advanced therapist rate but was surprised, as the massage felt more like it was done by a novice. I requested deep pressure and specified my problem areas, which the therapist mostly focused on, but the pressure was light to medium at best. She also spent only a few minutes on one key area I highlighted and focused more on areas I didn't mention. Overall, this place feels like a westernized, "relaxation" massage spot where you're paying for the ambiance and fluff rather than the quality of the massage. Given the prices and the way the place is marketed, I expected much more. read more

I saw Kelsey the other day for my first massage in a long while, and wow was it transformative. I'm pretty sure I ascended at one point. While she rhythmically kneaded my neck I could start to see each of my fears vividly flashing, as if they were being pulled out of me. And once she moved down my back finally, I was swept away. I really appreciated her intuitive touch and pressure; it was gentle at times, deeper where it counted, and balanced on certain parts like the quads and calves which can be very sensitive if pressed too hard. While the massage itself was great, the most memorable part was before the consultation I realized I had stepped in gum, and Kelsey offered to help scrub it for me with a spare toothbrush and oil. If that isn't heroic-level service I don't know what is. Thank you, and I look forward to next time! read more

Had my first appointment yesterday. Hanna is incredible. Great conversation and went right to my problem areas. At one point while working on a spot connecting to my hamstring she noticed me cramping as soon as I felt it and backed off. It still made a huge impact and I slept well that night. read more

I was given a gift certificate for Mother's Day and took several months to make the appointment but the massage was amazing. I had an 60 minute massage and felt wonderful. Lauren is an advanced therapist and really terrific. The facility is comfortable but basic. I much prefer that over the swanky overdone spas with a million products to sell you. I have my next appointment scheduled. read more

This was my first Ashiatsu Massage done by Hilary. She did an excellent job ensuring that she understood any injury history and tension in my body beforehand. The overall experience was relaxing and I learned a lot about which muscles may need some continuous work. Hilary was very friendly and professional as well. I already felt like a different person as soon as I left Mantis and I definitely will be heading back! read more

First time with Audrey was incredible! Will definitely be back soon, great location and price as well.

Great vibe in the little studio. My massage therapist, Mandi's, was very attentive to my needs and gave a fabulous 90 minute massage. I will definitely be booking again! read more

At 38 weeks pregnant my whole body was sore, especially lower back. I saw Whitney for a 1 hour deep tissue pregnancy massage and had a great experience. It was not a listen to Enya and fall asleep massage, it was a deep tissue massage that made me feel like a whole new person! My back feels better and I loved it so much I'm going back next week. Thank you, Whitney! read more

such a nice experience!!! i bought two massages for my partner and I. we both agreed it was amazing def will book again read more

Wonderful experience. I've had a few massages in my lifetime but I've had a hard time finding a solid spot here in Austin. Mantis is now that spot -- wow, it was fantastic. My therapist Whitney was phenomenal, so professional and communicative and provided a fantastic deep tissue massage. The facility is tucked away off South Congress in a very no-frills space -- it's laid back, casual, and they care about their work. I cannot recommend Mantis enough and will definitely be back. read more

Janice is AMAZING!!! I had a 45 minutes session and it flew by like 45 seconds! That was the best massage I ever had and wish I had a 2 hours for my back, because it was so good, relaxing and gave me such a great relief. The positive vibe mixed with peaceful energy fulfills you thru the session and makes a long lasting feeling for the whole day. I don't remember talking to such a knowledgeable person, who can explain everything so well and simple. I was also given a tons of info of what to do to keep my problem part of body maintained. Can't wait to go back for a longer session of that beautiful experience! read more

Well, I agree with the enthusiastic reviews. I visited both locations just after they opened but didn't write a review. Now, I've been back twice to the S Congress location and I'm so impressed. The location is easy, with great parking. The vibe is chill and my therapist Lauren, is a Goddess. Her approach is targeted, holistic, and tailored. She's a monthly "must" for me! read more

Blown. Away. I've had a shoulder issue the past couple of weeks, I booked a last minute massage out of desperation with Audrey. She spent so much time asking questions, doing functional massage, and teaching me what she was doing / getting into. I feel so so so much better, a miracle. I will absolutely be going back! read more

They always do an amazing job at Mantis. The online booking is very convenient and they sometimes have same-day appointments available.

Mantis Massage is so wonderful- you can feel the great energy as soon as you arrive! The therapist I saw was so pleasant and made me feel so welcomed and comfortable. I appreciate the after massage tea option AND I REALLY appreciate the no tipping policy- other places make it so awkward and this relieves you of that! I am excited to come back! read more

Pretty bummed about my experience here today. Admittedly, my expectations were high due to all of the wonderful reviews on here. Being new to Austin I thought I had found my new go-to massage place. I spent the time reading through all the therapists 'about me's' and ultimately went with the advanced therapist, Syd since she specializes in TMJ pain. The next available appointment was a week out at 7:30a on a Saturday (a little earlier than I would like, but since I was desperate for some relief I booked it and anxiously awaited my appointment all week). I arrived at the salon which appeared dark at 7:28a and texted the phone number on door to let them know I had arrived. There is a sign on the door saying they keep the salon locked for safety and the confirmation text the night before says the same and to text when you arrive. I waited until 7:35a for a response, but since I didn't receive a reply back I decided to try the door. It was open but all the lights were off. Syd looked unamused and honestly seemed pretty annoyed by my presence which I didn't take personally since it was so early and I don't expect stellar customer service. I didn't want her to think I was late or didn't respect her time so I let her know that I had texted and had been outside. She replied that I should have tried the door, fair, but there are multiple signs saying the door is kept locked and to text - and all the lights were off! She had me fill out the forms and showed me into the room to lay down. The massage didn't start until 7:45-7:50a. The massage itself was really good and she knows what she's doing but every minute counts when you're in pain. The massage ended right at 8:30a. I paid for a 60 min but in reality only received a 50 minute. Again, I didn't take it personally and assumed she probably had another massage right after me. I got dressed and went out to pay and it wasn't until we stood there talking about exercises I could do at home for 10 mins that I realized she wasn't in a rush at all. I thought about it more on the drive home and think it's pretty unprofessional to finish a massage early, especially when I was on time, followed their instructions to a tee, and never received a text back. This is a no tipping salon and I can't help but think that the service would have been better if there was a tipping option. Sadly, my search continues. I think it's still a great place to try, but I would probably recommend the South Congress location as that's where all the rave reviews are coming from. read more
