It smelled really good like lavender and eucalyptus. Zé was really courteous and thorough. They read through my intake form and asked excellent follow up questions. Tried Mantis massage last week, searching for some relief from TMJ pain I've been having. It was difficult to find someone that is experienced in that type of massage but I'm grateful to have found Mantis. They have masseuse's trained in a variety of styles so it's safe to say you're in good hands (hehe). If you have a specific need or issue, you can scroll through the bios and surely you'll find someone that can help you. That's how I found Carmen- she was very helpful, professional, had a good, calm energy, and knew exactly what to do for my TMJ problems. I like that at the start of the massage, we discussed my problem areas, and the she went straight to work on them. You definitely get what you pay for! Overall, I really liked my experience there. It was easy to book, easy to get in, the room was very nice and relaxing (really enjoyed the music), the massage was great, and the checkout was easy. One thing to note, they don't accept tips, so the price you see is the total you can expect. Originally, I thought the price was a little high for a massage but now I see why. The massage was nice, the therapist was friendly, and the place is clean. They ask you to arrive 5 minutes early and if you don't they say it cuts into your service time --- but it doesn't work the other way around. I arrived 10 minutes early for my massage. By the time the room was prepped and the therapist started on me it was already 14 minutes past my booked start time and this time was not made up for --- I did not get a full 60 minute massage. This is not the first time this has happened so overall somewhat disappointed. read more

I've been coming for routine massage therapy for the past year now. Janita is AMAZING!!! From day 1 she's been so intentional in addressing my problem areas, asking what parts of my body might need more focus in a particular session and she has also been willing to answer my questions and educate me on the "why's" and "what's" when it comes to my body and the stresses I put it through. I always leave feeling rejuvenated/refreshed and sometimes a little "massage drunk," (in a good way). Walking into the different massage rooms there is always a sense of relaxation--mellow music, dim lighting, etc.--it contributes to each session. I've been a customer for 2 years and had an advanced therapist I would always get massages with but she recently left Mantis and I was so heartbroken and nervous that I wouldn't have the same experience, but I'm so glad I remained open to the therapist that I was automatically set up with, Amanda is awesome too! The booking process is seamless, parking may be tricky, get there on time and be patient when arriving at the front door. The door is locked and it's meant for them to open the door for you, but I always pull the handle - I'm sorry Mantis! Amanda was great, she was very gentle on my body, I usually opt in for a lighter pressure massage and she did exactly that. I let her know about my concerned spots and she worked on those carefully. The space is cozy and peaceful, I always wonder if it's just me at the place! Lastly, they take FSA/HSA! So grateful for this because this is not common and I think taking care of your body through massage therapy is so important. Highly recommend! read more

I love getting a massage (who doesn't?). But since finding Mantis, I'm in love with getting a massage. And now Mantis is the only place I'll get massages, because life is too short for mediocre self-care, am I right? I love the whole vibe at Mantis, love the whimsical playful touches on their site and in their paperwork-- they take the job seriously, but they don't take themselves too seriously. I love that attitude! The place is super clean and comfortable; I feel like they've anticipated all our needs and have done everything they can to accommodate them. I'm sure all the massage therapists are terrific (clearly that's how they roll at Mantis: excellence!), but I've been going to see Sandra, and I don't have enough words of praise at my disposal to describe how amazing she is at what she does. She's incredibly skilled, intuitive, kind, compassionate, helpful. I came to her with carpal tunnel pain and discomfort in neck/shoulder from lots of typing (I know I'm not unique there!), and I felt better even before getting off the table on my first visit!
