My girl Julia, the Advanced Therapist absolutely killed it. I've had deep tissue massaged all over the world, and she definitely did the best and was the strongest out of the multiple men and women that I've had work on my back. I also came in like New Years Day or the day after, and I was in so much pain from having so much stress built up in my back and shoulders. I showed up unfortunately a little late, and Julia was understanding about it because I think she could tell I was having A DAY on the phone. Pretty much right after I had showed up, I started crying when I was talking to Julia because I was just having such an intense day. She was very understanding and offered comfort. I asked if they could extend my massage to 90 minutes from 60 and they were able to extend it to 75 minutes, I was very grateful. And then after that, Julia beat the crap outta my back and it was heavenly. Never have I ever tipped 100% of the bill and she 100000% deserved it. My go to Austin massage spot from now on. read more

The best shoulder work I've ever had! I've been getting deep tissue massages ever since I had a collarbone injury 10 years ago, and no one has ever hit those muscles at those angles like Audrey did! Massages for me are PT to work out the knots and tension. I did 90 minutes and she got to everything. No muscle was short changed. She even addressed my plantar fasciitis and cupped my foot... something all the doctors and other therapists have never recommended. I felt instant relief. (And still feel no pain today.. fingers crossed!) I felt like I was getting expensive bodywork from a true expert. Referring my dad for his should now. I also loved the facility, fun music, and vibrant colors. It did not feel like a medical-grade facility with no personality. Therapists had caring personalities. Tips were included in the fee. Michele was wonderful and so attentive! Wow! This place is absolutely amazing. When you first walk in, you're greeted with such a calm and inviting vibe. The waiting room is filled with calming scents, cute plants and lovely decor. Everyone is so kind and soft spoken, it feels as if you've just stepped into a dream. As for the actual massage - I reserved a 60 min with Michele and she had the hands of an angel. When I first walked in, we went over all of my health conditions, talked over problem areas and she adjusted her technique accordingly. She was super attentive, very precise with releasing the tension in all of my muscles, and acknowledged any concerns or awkwardness I was feeling. As for the establishment itself, there's plenty of parking and the prices are pretty nice. They even have a rewards program! I went in for the first time on Sunday. I was sore from a new exercise regimen, plus I just wanted to relax with a massage. My massage was with Cori, and it was excellent. The massage begins with a consultation. Cori had me fill out a basic form, and then I was asked about any problem areas. I mentioned that I often have back pain and that my arms were sore from some recent workouts. After getting on the table, Cori noted that I was holding a lot of tension in the shoulders as well. For that reason, we focused almost entirely on my upper body. I felt great. Afterward, Cori shared some stretches which might benefit my chest, back, and shoulders. I appreciated that. I cannot speak for the other members of the staff, but if they are anything like Cori than you will easily get your money's worth. Yesterday, I had my first massage at Mantis. I had a wonderful experience, and the level of relaxation I was able to access with Hilary gifted my body, mind, and sleep last night. Hilary took the time to listen to my needs and preferences and made sure that she understood them before beginning our session. I've been coming to mantis massage off and on for 7 years but somehow I never made it down to the location on S. Congress. Today I woke up very sore and needed quick relief, I was able to book the only available spot in both locations (which now looking back it was meant to be mine). I got to the location and immediately Kelsey's energy was vibrant. Which is wonderful because sometimes you show up and the therapist is looking tired and you can feel their low energy. No fault of their own, it just is. Kelsey greeted me with a warm smile and a friendly hello. When we got in the room she asked me if I had any questions or thoughts. I told her my left hip was hurting badly but also my who body felt sore, especially my legs. She said ok. When she got back from letting me get on the table she immediately started with my legs and worked her way to my left hip. I have told MANY therapists, my hip hurt but I have NEVER had such relief from my hip from someone massaging it. It was as though Kelsey was being guided where to go. It was such incredible relief, I started crying, in gratitude for that moment, for Kelsey, and even towards me for allowing myself to receive the beautiful gift of healing through a a massage. Katie Rae at the South Congress location was the most knowledgeable masseuse I've ever met -- she answered all the anatomical questions I had and worked magic on my various tense muscles. I had sprained my ankle recently and it was still stiff and painful, and somehow after Katie worked on it, my full range of motion in my foot was restored and it didn't hurt to twirl it around anymore.
