We have eaten here three times as our first and only Korean BBQ place. We went at 5 pm on a week day so there was no waiting list. Our group of 4 ordered iced and hot green teas and they brought out the banchan salad apps which we went thru quickly and eventually ordered another set of. We also ordered side dished, fried chicken, chicken wings, pot stickers, steamed egg and fried rice. The side portions are individual sized so they suggested doubling up on the chicken and pot stickers. All very tasty. There is a wide variety of meats. They turn the grill on for your and offer to replace the grill every now and then. Some marinated and some just sliced. We order about half marinated items half plain. Our style is to dump the plate of meat on the grill and then use the tongs to move things around to cook evenly. There are little dishes for sauce and salt and pepper to dip your meat into for added flavor. The service is quick. They come by often or you can wave them down for things. We have a good time. As of March 2023, the AYCE is 27.50 per adult plus beverages, tax and tip. read more

Expect a long wait during peak meal hours. The quality of food at Manna surpasses that of Gen @ Tempe Marketplace - it's a more straightforward KBBQ place rather the clubby atmosphere Gen offers. They're quite efficient with bringing meats out, changing grill pans, etc. We enjoyed the brisket, galbi, bulgogi, beef tongue as well as the sides. Pork jowl was quite fatty if you're into that, and the japchae was the only side that we were meh about, but not a big deal. Don't forget - cooking non-marinated meats on the grill first will avoid unnecessary grill changes!! Must be present to get on the waitlist (can't call in). The system they had at the time was writing your name and party size on a clipboard, and they'd go down the list. They don't actively call out your party's name, so it's a good idea to pop back in a few minutes before their estimated wait time. I had super high hopes for this place as I've had many many many great things from someone who is married to a Korean and i assume they eat well. Unfortunately that friend of mine and I have different taste buds. First of all, this is the first Asian restaurant that I didnt like the rice. The rice tasted old and crunchy. Not the typical warm/hot rice usually served. When we got there. The restaurant wasn't that busy but the service was definitely lacking. My family and I dont usually complain about the price of the food but damn! For some fatty meat that's not usually fatty at other restaurants, that was really fatty. Not the kind that melts in your mouth fat but the kind you end up chewing forever and then you just decide to spit it out. Ok I went with a few friends and we enjoyed it! The service was great this time. They are busy around the time we came in 5-6pm and the wait wasn't that bad to sit a party of 3 so about 45mins to 1hr. I was hungry and wanted soju bombs so we stayed. Visiting Arizona after moving and decided to try a new location for Manna since I always went to the Glendale location all the time. The service was very lackluster at this one. Me and another party were waiting for 20 minutes in the lobby before someone acknowledged us after she talked to a table and then ran to the back and looked at us a couple times. There were also a couple of waiters that saw us but never mentioned anything to any of their coworkers about parties waiting in their lobby to be seated. I love coming here. Yes, it can have a wait time, but it's not as heavy as the ones at Gen out other places. I feel I alwy get seated on the same side, so it feels at home. It's not a large place. It's small but quaint. The place is clean and I can see they're always on point with that. The meats are fresh. The steamed eggs are oh so good! They have soup , wings... This is our favorite Korean BBQ establishment we've found in the valley. They have a great selection of meats and sides. Some of our favorites are the Beef Bulgogi, Joomaluk, and Beef Belly. The staff is friendly and helpful and has great suggestions on what to try. One of our favorite waitresses, Unsun, always takes great care of us and makes sure we have an enjoyable dining experience. This was the place our friends brought us to try korean bbq for the first time. And now this has become the place we also bring friends who are going to try korean bbq for the first time. It serves the kind of quality ingredients you would expect from an establishment that is all you can eat. Not exceptional perhaps, but still delicious. I personally come out of every experience here with a full and satisfied belly. The service is excellent. The ladies are always so sweet. And the last time we came in we were served by Sean who was very charismatic and very helpful. He even showed us how to prepare soju bombs. After a long, hot day, my friend and I wanted to get a good, filling dinner. We originally had other Kbbq restaurants in mind, but most of them were closing soon, so we found this place after a little Yelp search. I forget, but I think the cutoff time to ordering food was 30 mins or 1 hour before closing time (I know, a huge range that isn't helpful lol). From my memory, we ordered 11 (chadol baegi, beef brisket), 14 (bulgogi), 15 (yangnyum galbi), 26 (pork belly), and 34 (spicy fresh baby octopus). The side dishes were pretty standard, nothing outstanding or bad about it. The meat itself was pretty standard as well. The brisket was probably our favorite, but again standard. The bulgogi was thicccck, like one order gives you a lot of meat. The galbi we got didn't come with bone, which I actually prefer, so it's less work to cook and eat. The pork belly was pretty fatty compare to most I've tried, but not so much that it was inedible. As for the octopus, it came with 2, but they were pretty big for babies. Also it had little to no spice, which was kind of disappointing. Overall, the kbbq was decent since everything was, again, pretty standard. This place is amazing. I have been coming here for a while now and I'm never disappointed with the taste or the service. The food here that is marinated is to die for, and even the dishes that aren't marinated can be cooked to perfection. Plus YOU get to cook your food. Want it a little pink, want it charred. You can have it how ever you like. Although you are on a timer while you're here, the waiters and bussers are extremely fast and efficient. I have never gotten close to the limit even when I was with a party of 6. My recommendation for coming here if it's your first time, is to look at the menu before you come. You get unlimited appetizers and up to 3 entrées. If you know what you want, after you get your drinks you can get the show started right way. No lolly gagging No Blabbering. Our waiter decided to wade into the race waters instead of be attentive to our needs. He repeatedly questioned my friend on "what type of asian" he was, and berated him for "acting white." Not only was this extremely unprofessional and flat out rude, it was down right appalling. I cannot in good conscience support an establishment that allows this kind of behavior, which is a shame because the food is actually good. Unfortunately, this wasn't our only poor experience with the wait staff, but it is the most notable. Yes yes yes!! KBBQ has been on my mind for the past year. The last time I had KBBQ was last year when I was pregnant. After giving birth I never had the chance to go but luckily for my bachelorette I made it a must that we had some KBBQ. I am so glad I picked this place over all the other options becuase they have such a variety. It said it closed at 10pm here and on google so we decided to go around 840 and arrived promptly at 845. The first think we saw was a sign that said 930 closing, we thought it was weird but figured we would be ok since we take at most an hour. A lady greeted us and said their kitchen closes in ten mins making it only 855pm. I understand people want to go home but if your sign says you close and 10pm or 930 pm then you should assist clients until that time. The place was packed when we went (on a weekday at dinner time), but we were still seated within 20 minutes. Service was quick. Our server forgot a couple of things and had to be reminded, but he was *slammed* with customers, so it was NBD. The food was good, fresh, and more authentic than some other all-you-can-eat Korean BBQs. The fish cakes were outstanding, and they were NOT stingy with the sides. One downside: they never changed out our grill pan, and it got a little smoky, but you can control the height of the ventilation, and that helped. First time visit. Lunch time, was fairly busy on a Saturday. The service was SO slow. Then if you could get them to bring you something, the grill was so slow it took FOREVER to cook. And the grill pretty small, so if you get bulgogi, everything will taste like bulgogi. Don't bother getting any drink, because you won't get another (refill). The beef smelled and looked off. I came here today April 9, 2022 with Asian American Community of AZ MeetUp, to eat with 18 people (half the people were not Asian, including the host of this event). Our host, who spent many years living in S. Korea, said this was the best Korean BBQ place he had in AZ. Our host made it so his large party expected 25, didn't have to wait in line, buy starting our group event when the restaurant opens at 11:30 on Sat. We got a room to ourselves in the back. I am giving my experience an "OK" rating. The meats had oingy boingies but I know I would have to pay more for better quality meats, and Manna is known to be one of the cheaper Korean BBQs. the little kim chee dishes were not as tasty as other Korean restaurants, just "OK" or three stars. Just so you'd know, the menu item numbers on the onlline order form, do not match the menu item numbers on the restaurant dine in menu. our host was dismayed server said he ordered salad (so we had big uneating bowls of salad at our table), and two chicken dishes, including friend, when he ordered various kinds of meats for the grill. Well he ordered by the numbers off the online menu, which is not the same numbered itemson the restaurant menu, if you order by number. The taste of everything to me, was unremarkable. One thing I don't like about eating Korean BBQ, is the meats tend to get overcooked because the server and others put too much on the grill, and it gets overcooked. Our server kept dumping the entire plate of meat on the grill, and our host had to remove half onto another plate. We did not order any seafood dishes, not even shrimp. Also dinging down to 3 stars, is we were seated at tables that crammed too many people into a small table, with no elbow room, and no place on the table to put dishes or other items, cos the grill takes up so much room. Servers insisted that we sit this way, instead of sitting at more tables that were available and already set. Lady next to me had to sit at the mere corner edge of the table. I don't like paying so much money to be so cramped. And two hours to cook and eat, not relaxing. Also the grill fans were so loud, it is hard to hear what people are saying when they talk, with roaring fan noise. My assessment of Manna BBQ over in Mesa may sound arbitrary, sometimes bewildering, and a little inconsistent - but I can't help the fact that these markers were all experienced during our unique first visit encounters. Be aware that no matter what positives or negatives may be reflected from my prose, this Korean BBQ joint will continue to be packed to the hilt because it tasted really great, it's popular, and their offerings are fabulous, yet there is only so much available room to fit one and all and Korean BBQ 'Cuisinarios' that are willing to wait in line for an hour+ to have their fab fare! With that said - having made reservations 3 days before, calling to confirm 1 day earlier (and the booking not on the list), re-scheduling the event, then arriving at our scheduled time (with 8 party-going hungry people) found a 20+ minute wait with no Hostess in sight, and no interaction with any one at the door, as she was busy directing staff, attending to sitting customers, in and out of the kitchen, cleaning tables while approximately 50 people were hanging out the door, not only waiting to get in, but waiting for attention and direction to their established and previously confirmed reservations! Notwithstanding that, we were here to supposedly enjoy and have fun at an outing for our Nephew's Birthday which we did, and in the end we concluded by stuffing ourselves with the likes of fabulous Gyoja, gooey sweet Corn Cheese, delicate Beef Belly, amazing tender Manna Steak, scrumptious Pork Belly, terrific Joomuluk, incredible Chadol Beagi, well marinated Teriyaki Chadol, mouthwatering YanNyum Galbil, knock-your-socks-iff Soju Bombers and huge big Ass Sapporros. Boy, did we Pig Out! And enjoy we did. Despite the early inconvenience and rudeness of the door staff, we had a great time with our company, the wait staff and the fantabulous food! Of everything we devoured, which included a big chunk of their fantastically huge menu, almost all was worth writing home about. The meat was tender, the sides were fab, kimchi terrific, seasonings fantabulous and more. Their meats are definitely topnotch and the set-up of self-fired woks with blowers are really well set up - the only issue is the exhaust fans are noisy making it very, very difficult to hold a conversation. Otherwise, this is a fun place, the eats are terrific and the value is great. My wife wants to come back soon, and I have to agree with her. Improve your Hostess and reservation service, but keep up with an incredible array of selections of quality, tasty and magnificent offerings. Great job Manna! This place feels like a classic kbbq joint that I'd definitely return to the next time I'm feeling indulgent! My partner and I came here on a weekday evening and were seated within 10 minutes. This place gave me similar vibes to places like Red Palace in Southern California, which made my partner and I feel like we were right at home. Some highlights to our meal: - The beef belly!! Crisping these up on the grill is *chef's kiss* and I'm so happy that Manna offers them. - The marinated galbi was so flavorful! - The pickled cucumbers and potato salad offered as banchan were perfect palate cleansers throughout the meal - Great tasting sides like corn cheese, steamed egg, and the Korean fried chicken (super crispy - my partner really enjoyed these, so he had to order it twice!) - The service was great! They were very attentive (but not overwhelmingly so), welcoming, and they gave us our orders and grill changes in a timely manner. Some areas for improvement, in my opinion: - On some of the thicker cuts of meat like the beef rib finger meat, I think it would be worth it to invest with higher quality cuts with more fat marbling. The thicker cuts feel heavy to eat, even when they're cut into small pieces, and I think a more marbled meat would alleviate that instant heaviness. - I'm personally not a fan of wasabi pickled radish, so perhaps having more pickled banchan with neutral flavors (like the cucumber one!) would be great. - The brisket sauce was on the soy sauce-heavy side, which I think could be balanced out with more vinegar and sugar to offer that sweet, tart palate cleanser for fattier meats like the beef belly. Overall, we really enjoyed this meal and ate to our hearts' content. I know the competition for AYCE KBBQ here is probably Gen in Tempe, but I had no regrets coming here instead to support a locally-owned family business. One star for service and five star for food. It's good to have an all-you-can-eat restaurant in Tempe with affordable price. But the waitress lady was just too rude. She was inpatient with whatever questions we had. My friend called her when she walked by, but she ignored it and tried to serve the table next to us. And then she shouted at us saying don't we see that she's serving another table...Sadly, my friend is introverted and not dare to ask her questions anymore.
