It's a unique dining experience in that it is a standalone food court building with a single POS system that supports the multiple counter service only restaurants with a central bar and a wall of self-service beer taps. It is relatively clean when you consider it is a food court . . .we've all been to those sticky tabletops, crumbs left behind by previous diners and empty condiment containers. I was relatively impressed with how clean and comfortable the location was. Big televisions everywhere, good music. The location had a nice vibe. Booths were large. The service and ordering system is where they fell down. The servers seemed relatively disinterested, and the ordering system was an absolute nightmare. They need to invest in software with a better user experience if they're going to thrive. Fishpop's fish and chips were good, and Random AF's vampire tacos were pretty good as well. We had family in town and have been wanting to try Fish pop since we have been following them on IG for awhile. The vibe in the restaurant is great very open, big bar, beer wall. However I will say the ordering system from your phone is awful. They need to invest in a better more organized set up. They have all the Restaurants clumped into one giant list. It was so confusing and it took forever to even find the alcohol drinks. We ended up just going up to the bar. When it got to checking out our cards were all declining and we clearly had money it was a system glitch. It took us a good 25 min to get our food ordered. I also think it would be a great idea for someone to greet you when you walk in and explain the ordering process not just point to the QR codes. We enjoyed the spicy fish and chips and the tartar sauce was so good! I didn't take a picture of it but we got a soul food plate it was fried chicken wings, candied yams, Mac and cheese, and cornbread. It was great and my 11 month old tore that plate up! Spicy fish and chips - fantastic, only slightly spicy but not weak. The tartar sauce was incredible, and my favorite so far. Fries were alright, nothing special but not bad. BBQ pulled pork nachos - wow. The waffle fries were heavily seasoned in the best way, and I couldn't be happier. This was enough to feed two, and even the leftovers were tasty. Highly recommend, and you get to choose the meat as well (I went with pulled pork). They give you quite a bit of meat too. Margs - nothing special but not bad. Can't beat $3 though. Our bartender was so sweet, and she helped us pick some food and navigate the restaurant. You sit anywhere you'd like, scan the QR code, and order from a culmination of multiple restaurants, like a food court. They have a bar, and also a tap wall where you can fill your own beer! I'll be back to try that out. They have empanadas, soul food, bbq, fish, sushi, and probably some more that I'm forgetting, so check it out if you ever have split cravings! read more

Tempe Eats is a good concept in theory. It's a food hall, but not. You order from a kiosk and workers are labored with the task of bringing your food. They have to discern between orders and try to give you a run down of your food should you ask. Kinda sucks actually. You should leave them a tip. Some of the things we ordered were good and some were not. I felt like everything was reasonably priced. The Eats gives you plenty of variety to choose from. You can also enjoy an alcoholic beverage while you wait. If you're dining with a bunch of people, this may be your spot. read more

Little confused about the low ratings, but here's my experience--- Tempe Eats has a cool concept imo-- there a bunch of different places to eat in one area ( think of an upgraded food court ) and the facility it self sells alcohol, has tv's for games. They have all these taps for beer, I haven't had a chance to check that out yet. Each time I have eaten there I was warmly greeted, and the staff at TE explains how everything works. They also check on you and help if you need assistance. This works out great if someone in your group doesn't eat a certain type of food and you can get some beers or whatever to drink. Food halls offer diverse & unique offerings. This is a fantastic opportunity a start-up "if you will" for local vendors to get their products out there & grow their restaurant business. We wanted to come experience & explore the options under one roof! This is a communal dining experience with a mix of fast-casual and chef-driven concepts. Greeted right when we came in. At the time we arrived, not ALL shops were open. However, we were intrigued about one shop in particular that we had seen on Tik Tok, so was happy to see that they were active. Chikpop was our choice. First item selected was from their Fishpop: Spicy Buttered Fish & Chips. The other two were- The Maple Truffle Sando and the Hot Honey Sando. Everything was excellent & worth the price as far as portions! I've never gotten a chicken sandwich this big in my life! LOL We split the chicken sandwiches, so we could sample both. I can do hot, but that hot honey was too much for my tastebuds! The Maple was extremely sweet & could have used a little heat, but overall the flavor of the breaded chicken was very good yet a tad bit over cooked with a darker texture and harder crunch. The slaw was interesting. The color was as well. I'd maybe do less of that or non at all, as it seemed to make the sandwich bread soggy and difficult to manage. The Fish & Chips were on point and devoured quickly. This is an order at "whatever" counter you choose, pay and take your receipt which has a number that will be called when your meal is ready. Make sure to hang onto that sales slip to reference your order! Ours took a little bit... Note- inside there is a good size bar. They carry Arizona's largest self-serve beer wall (42 on tap) which you'll be certain to find the perfect pairing within the eatery. This was an interesting experience. Let me start with what was good. Lemon pepper wings delicious, asian fries were awesome, chicken teriyaki bowl, cat fish platter . Listen, I don't like catfish, but I tried a piece from my son's plate, and it was everything. The flavor reminded me of some good southern cooking. Now, the POS system is not a hit for me. You can a QR code, order from app, they will bring out your cups and food when it is done. Then there was an ask for a tip. For what? We came here on a Monday night at 7:03. After ordering our food I started to wonder if it was a mistake coming here. Four others before us seemed to have been waiting forever on food or their food orders were wrong. One of the employees I heard her say "Sorry it's a case of the Monday." Interesting concept but we were a little confused. It's a food hall with a couple different restaurants, but also had waiters/waitresses. Staff were friendly though! We came here to try the Fishpop popup which is here from 6/1-6/30. Saw people lined up at the window so I got in line there as well. We got there at a good time because the line got even longer afterwards. They have original flavor or spicy flavor fried fish for $22 each. I ordered 2 spicy. Comes with fries, peas, and a dill tartar sauce. Payments accepted at this window are cash, Zelle or Venmo. If ordering from the front register, you can use card. My friend ordered 2 pastas from the Creole Bowls place. I also ordered a whiskey mule. The fried fish was golden and crispy. Perfectly fried. The piece I ate wasn't spicy or salty but my friends said theirs was salty. Fries and peas were good. I really liked the sauce! Can't remember the name of the pasta but it was some seafood buttery pasta. I had a few bites of it but I prefer red sauce so to me, it was okay. Not bad. I'm going to do two reviews; one is for the overall hall & bar and the second will be for the pop-up restaurant that brought us here in the beginning. So we had no idea this place existed until we saw a story on the news about the Fishpop pop-up currently housed here. Located in a larger building at the corner of Mill and Baseline, the concept includes a few different restaurants and a pretty good-sized bar concept. There appears to be a few standard restaurants here including Yogi's Grill, which we were familiar with from the malls. Also there was a Cajun place (Cajan Breakfast Joint), Fork Off, Seafood Boil, and Creole Bowls to Go. The birria tacos at Fork Off looked delicious and we will be back to try those for sure. The bar was well stocked with a dedicated bar tender taking and making orders. The overall space was clean and well-kept and there were two women who were helping to keep things up as well as assist customers as needed. They offer events like brunches with music, happy hours, family events, etc. And it appears that you can also rent the venue for your own parties. Creative idea for sure! read more

The "smash burgers" were just normal burgers with no flavor and dry. The fish and chips were mushy and greasy. And for the price?! What a joke. Will never go back there and will absolutely not recommend to anyone. We all left with most our food on the table. Also the concept makes no sense. The concept has potential, but the execution falls short. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt off, and I would not recommend it for families with children. We drove 45 minutes to try the Fish Pop, and it was underwhelming. It was very greasy and lacked flavor. We also ordered the quesabirrias, which were bland and noticeably underseasoned. The consome was an additional $1.75 and was extremely small and equally lacking in flavor. My daughter ordered the noodles, and unfortunately they were not good either. Service was slow, and we had to get up several times to check on our food because it was not brought to us. The decor felt inconsistent, and the signage appeared improvised. As a whole for Tempe Eats--it's an interesting concept especially nestled in a college neighborhood but it was disappointing. We came out on a Sunday and it was slow. Maybe a handful of people. The service was extremely slow. It took us 20 mins and soggy soda cups to finally get our food. We came to check out Fish Pop and grab some beers but all the beers on tap from the video we seen--welp the tap was all down and out of order. Very disappointing. The video made it seem bigger--it's not but also not working. I got the spicy fish--really good. Had some flavor. Not hot at all. The fries and fish were very crispy which I loved. I would rate my meal 7/10. The fiancé got the standard fish and chips--he rated his meal a 5/10 because the fish didn't have any flavor. He said the best part of his meal were his fries. We are both intended to have some drinks and since the tap was out--we would have ordered cocktails but the menu gave us college student selection. Went here specifically for Fishpop as there was a lot of buzz around it, and saw Chickpop joined them at Tempe Eats as well. Went to order a beer, but they were out of my first choice....and second choice...and I think it was my third choice that they finally had in stock. Seems kinda odd they were out of so many beers and didn't know about it until they tried to pour a glass. Fishpop itself I thought was pretty good, just not the best fried fish I've had. I don't know if it was just because I didn't drink enough water that day or what, but after I left and for the rest of the night, I was SUPER thirsty. This was my first time at Tempe Eats and I expected it to be pretty bustling and with a lot of vendors. There were maybe 4 vendors there, with space available for additional vendors. There weren't many customers when we got there, but throughout the night, it got slightly busier. We also went on a weekday so that could've also been a factor. The process is to order through a QR code and you can see all the options from each vendor and pay directly on the site. Once your order is ready, they'll call your number and you can pick it up. We were excited by the cool concept of multiple restaurants under one roof and loved the modern setup, chill music, and friendly vibes from one of the staff members (wish we had caught her name!). Unfortunately, everything else was a major letdown -- starting with the food. I ordered from Chikpop: the OG Sando sandwich (crispy chicken thigh with OG rub, house slaw, and pink sauce on a brioche bun with fries). I took one bite and had to spit it out -- my chicken was undercooked, visibly red with a bit of blood, and totally unappetizing. The sandwich was overly battered, lacked flavor, and the fries? Honestly, my 2-year-old niece wouldn't touch them. Hate to say it, but even McDonald's or Chick-fil-A easily outshines this. After tossing that, I tried to salvage the night by ordering a Teriyaki Chicken Bowl from Yogis Grill. Again -- some of the chicken was pink. At that point, my appetite completely vanished. My husband ordered fish and chips from Fishpop, which he had high hopes for since it aired on the news. He's pescatarian and was excited to try it... but even he said it was disappointing and bland. We also got cauliflower buffalo wings from Fork OFF, which were just okay -- no seasoning, just battered cauliflower tossed in buffalo sauce. To top it off, we ordered two fountain drinks and a Heineken Zero -- only to be told at the very end that they were out of it. When we declined a replacement (since there were no other non-alcoholic options), we were asked how we wanted to pay for a mocktail instead... what? Pros: * The ambiance is great. * Music was on point. * One friendly staff member made us feel welcomed. Cons: * Undercooked food from multiple vendors. * Poor quality fries and seasoning. * A foul sewer-like smell near the drink station. * Lack of professionalism around beverage substitution. * Not ideal for date night or honestly, any night. And by the way after 45 min to an hour your cup will get soggy like a paper straw. You'll have to ask for a new one if you're wanting to take your drink Togo! We really wanted to like this place, but the food safety issues and overall experience left us disappointed. Tempe Eats has potential, but quality control across its vendors needs serious work. I did have this day first time the fish and was excellent not greasy British but more French style like and the peas were perfect crispy fries which you can order without salt hit the spot. Definitely meet KJ. The dog reader for me anyway and he explains the digital dine in menu when you sit at a table. Very helpful staff another woman who assist him was equally helpful. We were visiting from out of town, and a friend recommended we try this place. We were impressed with the modern setup and ambiance. Our kids loved the easy ordering process via QR code, especially since they could see pictures of what they were ordering. We were also given a paper menu, but I personally preferred the QR code option because it allowed me to see the pictures and pay online without waiting for the bill. We ordered a variety of dishes from different kitchens. The brisket was moist and flavorful, and my kids enjoyed watching their sushi rolls being made. The pork katsu was crunchy and delicious. I'm a big fan of elote, so I ordered two, and they were fantastic. We also tried a few alcoholic drinks from the bar, and my husband enjoyed experimenting with the beer wall, which was a unique experience. Came for lunch wife and I., ordered Margarita and a beer to drink and sushi, spicy fish. sushi and drinks come out in about 10 minutes, but you have to get your own beer if you would like to, so I did. wife ate the sushi and I had one piece as well waiting for the fish 20 minutes go by and ask the hostess/server about the fish. Empanadas came in ten mins still no fish, I ask the manager about the fish, it takes time for it she replied, ok. We ate all 3 of the empanadas and now the fish showed up 45 mins later, ate the fish and looked for the hostess/server to pay the bill and get out of there. By now I am frustrated and just want to leave. Got the check it had a 18% craft U service charge on it. Order spicy fish al they do is sprinkler a little bit of Cheyenne pepper or some other chile powder on it, goof thing they have some hot sauce in bottles for you. I was like you didn't pour the beer for me I poured the beer. To mad to care, wife said she will just pay it, ok lets pay and get out of here. Well the pay to tap machine asks if you would like to leave a tip what for you get your own beer and you pick up your food when they call your name and you bussing your own table. So $#@% no tip for you, you got 18% for me pouring my own beer, get my food, and bussing my table. ( I should have cooked my own fish also maybe it wouldn't taken so long ). Once we got outside I looked at the check because the wife had it and she paid, don't worry about it. It had the on the house margarita on the bill that the bartender said on the house. This place is cool in theory, in all actuality a little... off. A friend and I decided to hang out here on a Friday night since it's relatively new and in-between where we both live. Expectations are that it would be lots of mini stands a la cafeteria style, but in all actuality, it's a restaurant with multiple menus. TBH the menus are a little overwhelming when you're presented with all of them at once. I get that during Arizona summer the hospitality industry suffers, but my hope is that if you're to have some fun promo nights, to make sure the host isn't overbearing. I walked in and it was fairly dead. Not a bad thing, except the karaoke was too loud, and once I sat down, the host would not leave me and eventually my friend alone. We tried to be nice declining the ask to sing, but it wasn't until my friend said we wouldn't be participating for the third time did it hit her with a bit more stern tone, and she left us alone. So besides the vibes and missed expectations, the food/drinks are ok. They have a beer wall, of which is operated by a pay as you drink swipe card. Fresh, cold glasses are available in a cooler next to the wall. The craft beer selection isn't bad, and there's a full bar if you want to go that route. If was our first time to this fairly new food hall/bar, and we really liked it. It's a great concept--several different restaurants under one roof. It's kind of like a food court, but with one server bringing it all to your table. The decor is great, with a combo of tables with chairs, big booths, and a long, gorgeous live edge high top table for large groups. I'm the entry is a wine bar-type of area with tufted velvet booths and a big floral mural--very cool. There is a full bar, and a beer wall. You get a card and can go fill your own glass, or they'll do it for you. There are so many large TVs, so if you want to watch sports while you have a bite and a drink, this place will make you happy. Oh, and there's karaoke! We started off with some cocktails, and they were really good. I like a spicy margarita with real kick to it and this one was perfect. I chose the Voodoo pasta from the Cajun/Barbecue counter and it was so good. It was spicy, and loaded with a lot of chicken, shrimp, and sausage, and served with little garlic bread pieces. We also ordered the teriyaki chicken from the Asian counter, some hot wings, and the hot link sandwich with house-made potato chips from the Cajun/barbecue place. Tempe Eats is perfect for large group because there is something for everyone, whether it be Italian food, Mexican food, burgers, salad, charcuterie - - there really is everything, including a dessert counter. It's great that you can have all of that but still have a regular restaurant with a server. The prices are really great, the portions are large, and we all really liked our food. This concept is super cool, but unfortunately, it's very poorly executed. I'm speaking from my experience as a food truck owner and years in the hospitality industry. If the food isn't incredible, then the execution must be flawless to encourage a return visit. We'll give this place a year to work out its kinks before we consider coming back. We visited on a Friday at 5:30 PM. This spot had been on our list to try for a while. Our first impression was that it lacked cohesion; nothing seemed to flow or look put together. The styling left much to be desired. The people next to us were waiting a long time for their to-go order, which they eventually found sitting on the counter. They left feeling frustrated, and rightfully so. As we waited, our food gradually started to come out. We ordered from multiple spots to try a variety of dishes. The corn fritters and empanadas were delicious, but the plating looked sad, and the sauce was messy. Then the yakisoba arrived. We ordered at our table, but the servers still struggled to figure out where the food was going. A sushi roll was dropped, and when we asked for soy sauce, we were given packets without a dish to mix the wasabi and soy sauce. After finishing our other dishes, we were still waiting on the tacos. When we checked on them, they casually mentioned, "Oh, do you still want those? We missed the ticket." We observed many frustrated customers around us as food was sent to the wrong tables, and others were yelling names at the front.
