Took a drive to Tempe Eats in Tempe. Tried two spots: ChowDown Az had the Oxtails with yellow rice, Collard greens, Corn bread & had to try the Banana pudding, Amaaaazing!!!!! Will definitely be going back for the Oxtails FishPop, had the Spicy fish which comes with fries and greens beans. Both spots were great! Fries were a bit overdone and the tartar sauce was a little off, for my taste. Not very emulsified. I like when food halls serve food on regular plates when you're dining in as well. Well we got suckered to make the drive from Gilbert to check this place out off of TikTok and let me say--it was disappointing. As a whole for Tempe Eats--it's an interesting concept especially nestled in a college neighborhood but it was disappointing. We came out on a Sunday and it was slow. Maybe a handful of people. The service was extremely slow. It took us 20 mins and soggy soda cups to finally get our food. We came to check out Fish Pop and grab some beers but all the beers on tap from the video we seen--welp the tap was all down and out of order. Very disappointing. The video made it seem bigger--it's not but also not working. I got the spicy fish--really good. Had some flavor. Not hot at all. The fries and fish were very crispy which I loved. I would rate my meal 7/10. The fiancé got the standard fish and chips--he rated his meal a 5/10 because the fish didn't have any flavor. He said the best part of his meal were his fries. We are both intended to have some drinks and since the tap was out--we would have ordered cocktails but the menu gave us college student selection. I don't usually leave reviews, but I ate here for the first time recently and was surprised by how good it was. I can be a bit picky and wasn't sure what to order. The hostess Gianna recommended the Philly cheesesteak sandwich and it was SO GOOD. Wish we had this place when I lived in Tempe. Came in after seeing it on my TikTok feed and was really impressed with the vibe, service, and the food + drink! Gianna greeted us and was so friendly - she explained all the different food stalls and helped us make our decision. We opted to try a little bit from a few of the stalls and loved it all. Quick Review: Delicious and would come again. A little pricey but it's worth it. Get the spicy fish and chips! I was in the area for a few days and decided to try this place I found on TikTok. It's a food hall type restaurant with a lot to choose from. The atmosphere gives upscale and it has a fully loaded bar and a wine bar! The owner was very nice and welcomed everyone into the restaurant with smiles. The prices ranged from 15-30+ depending on what you order. I ordered the Spicy fish and chips. 10/10 flavor, tartar sauce was great and it filled me up!(Price was 21.50) I'd come back for the fish alone. My lady ordered the chicken and shrimp teriyaki yakisoba noodles which were decent. Could've used more teriyaki sauce but the portions made up for it.(20.00 for her food). The three stars here is for ambiance, service, and their ordering system. I'll tack on my thoughts on their food at the end. I was relatively impressed with how clean and comfortable the location was. Big televisions everywhere, good music. The location had a nice vibe. Booths were large. The service and ordering system is where they fell down. The servers seemed relatively disinterested, and the ordering system was an absolute nightmare. They need to invest in software with a better user experience if they're going to thrive. Fishpop's fish and chips were good, and Random AF's vampire tacos were pretty good as well. Their green salsa was the best - red was too bitter and the orange was overpoweringly spicy...hope you didn't want to taste your food with that. read more

This place is adorable for casual dining and get-togethers. They offer beer on tap and have plenty of open spaces that encourage conversation and good vibes. The service was pleasant, and the host was very helpful. I've been eager to try their fish POP but never found the time or energy to drive out there, haha! Went here specifically for Fishpop as there was a lot of buzz around it, and saw Chickpop joined them at Tempe Eats as well. Went to order a beer, but they were out of my first choice....and second choice...and I think it was my third choice that they finally had in stock. Seems kinda odd they were out of so many beers and didn't know about it until they tried to pour a glass. Fishpop itself I thought was pretty good, just not the best fried fish I've had. I don't know if it was just because I didn't drink enough water that day or what, but after I left and for the rest of the night, I was SUPER thirsty. This was my first time at Tempe Eats and I expected it to be pretty bustling and with a lot of vendors. There were maybe 4 vendors there, with space available for additional vendors. There weren't many customers when we got there, but throughout the night, it got slightly busier. We also went on a weekday so that could've also been a factor. The process is to order through a QR code and you can see all the options from each vendor and pay directly on the site. Once your order is ready, they'll call your number and you can pick it up. There's a self serve station for condiments, utensils, napkins, etc. read more

My Son and went to Tempe Eats for Fish Pop. There ae around 6 hawker stations inn the building. New experience for us. They service was on point! We sat at the bar. Was introduced to beer service to the beer wall. You get a separate charge card for the beer wall. Choose your beer. A little spend. Then we ordered from Pop Fish. I got the spicy and my Son got the traditional. Both were excellent. Fries were great. Don't know about the other spots featured in this place, but what we had was worth another trip! read more

Stopped by for the Fish Pop pop up and this place was busy. Every table was taken so we opted to sit outside. Here we sat for a few minutes while we waited for our food and we ran inside once we saw a table open up. The workers we interacted with all friendly and helpful. The inside was a bit too warm. I like the concept of a food hall so I really wanted to like this place but it fell really flat and I won't be back. So you walk in and there is a big sign that tells you how to order- you walk up to a kiosk and put in your order and wait to be hear your name. Okay - except the menu is kind of minimalist so not 100% sure what the food is but okay. Sat down, table dirty, moved to another table, also dirty. Not sure who is working here or who to ask where to get our drink cups. Beer wall looked cool but not sure how to order anything from it. Wait at table. Eventually I see someone walking around with food that looked like it could be ours. Hear a barely audible number- it's ours, no microphone so could barely hear in a noisy space. Was told that if you dine you should sit down and then use the table QR code to order- in contrast to the several large posters at the entrance telling us how to order. Lol. Food was okay, not great. Also every unmanned restaurant counter had a tip jar as well as a tip ask on the kiosk. Who would I be tipping? read more

We had been wanting to give this place a try for some time now, and was going to go last Wednesday, but they were closing in 20 minutes of our arrival, but I guess we dodged that bullet. From the moment we walked into Tempe Eats, I knew I was in for something special. The ambiance was a perfect blend of cozy and chic -- warm lighting, modern touches, and music that set just the right vibe. Untillll.... Great Ambiance, but the Food? Whew, Chile... No. My husband and I visited Tempe Eats in Tempe, AZ for a date night after seeing it featured on Fox 10. We were excited by the cool concept of multiple restaurants under one roof and loved the modern setup, chill music, and friendly vibes from one of the staff members (wish we had caught her name!). Unfortunately, everything else was a major letdown -- starting with the food. I ordered from Chikpop: the OG Sando sandwich (crispy chicken thigh with OG rub, house slaw, and pink sauce on a brioche bun with fries). I took one bite and had to spit it out -- my chicken was undercooked, visibly red with a bit of blood, and totally unappetizing. The sandwich was overly battered, lacked flavor, and the fries? Honestly, my 2-year-old niece wouldn't touch them. Hate to say it, but even McDonald's or Chick-fil-A easily outshines this. After tossing that, I tried to salvage the night by ordering a Teriyaki Chicken Bowl from Yogis Grill. Again -- some of the chicken was pink. At that point, my appetite completely vanished. My husband ordered fish and chips from Fishpop, which he had high hopes for since it aired on the news. He's pescatarian and was excited to try it... but even he said it was disappointing and bland. We also got cauliflower buffalo wings from Fork OFF, which were just okay -- no seasoning, just battered cauliflower tossed in buffalo sauce. To top it off, we ordered two fountain drinks and a Heineken Zero -- only to be told at the very end that they were out of it. When we declined a replacement (since there were no other non-alcoholic options), we were asked how we wanted to pay for a mocktail instead... what? Pros: * The ambiance is great. * Music was on point. * One friendly staff member made us feel welcomed. Cons: * Undercooked food from multiple vendors. * Poor quality fries and seasoning. * A foul sewer-like smell near the drink station. * Lack of professionalism around beverage substitution. * Not ideal for date night or honestly, any night. And by the way after 45 min to an hour your cup will get soggy like a paper straw. You'll have to ask for a new one if you're wanting to take your drink Togo! We really wanted to like this place, but the food safety issues and overall experience left us disappointed. Tempe Eats has potential, but quality control across its vendors needs serious work. I would give it a 1/10 because of the music and ambience. Oh and the bathrooms were very clean.. and I don't use public bathrooms unless it's an emergency, but I always look and see just to tell you all about it! read more

The concept has potential, but the execution falls short. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt off, and I would not recommend it for families with children. We drove 45 minutes to try the Fish Pop, and it was underwhelming. It was very greasy and lacked flavor. We also ordered the quesabirrias, which were bland and noticeably underseasoned. The consome was an additional $1.75 and was extremely small and equally lacking in flavor. My daughter ordered the noodles, and unfortunately they were not good either. Service was slow, and we had to get up several times to check on our food because it was not brought to us. The decor felt inconsistent, and the signage appeared improvised. We spent over $70 and left feeling that the quality did not match the price. I was genuinely so disappointed that I wished I could get my money back. I would recommend looking elsewhere read more

Overall experience was poor. Overpriced food, poor/no service. Strange dining room with no flow. You basically have to serve yourself, then they ask for 22% tip in their app. There is no wait staff. I asked for a happy hour marg, but the price was not happy hour prices. The food we had, did have good flavor. 2 Nashville Hots, a Maple and fish & chips. $75 for 4 people. We were visiting from out of town, and a friend recommended we try this place. We were impressed with the modern setup and ambiance. Our kids loved the easy ordering process via QR code, especially since they could see pictures of what they were ordering. We were also given a paper menu, but I personally preferred the QR code option because it allowed me to see the pictures and pay online without waiting for the bill. We ordered a variety of dishes from different kitchens. The brisket was moist and flavorful, and my kids enjoyed watching their sushi rolls being made. The pork katsu was crunchy and delicious. I'm a big fan of elote, so I ordered two, and they were fantastic. We also tried a few alcoholic drinks from the bar, and my husband enjoyed experimenting with the beer wall, which was a unique experience.
