The owner was very nice and welcomed everyone into the restaurant with smiles. The prices ranged from 15-30+ depending on what you order. I ordered the Spicy fish and chips. 10/10 flavor, tartar sauce was great and it filled me up!(Price was 21.50) I'd come back for the fish alone. Went here specifically for Fishpop as there was a lot of buzz around it, and saw Chickpop joined them at Tempe Eats as well. Went to order a beer, but they were out of my first choice....and second choice...and I think it was my third choice that they finally had in stock. Seems kinda odd they were out of so many beers and didn't know about it until they tried to pour a glass. Fishpop itself I thought was pretty good, just not the best fried fish I've had. I don't know if it was just because I didn't drink enough water that day or what, but after I left and for the rest of the night, I was SUPER thirsty. This was my first time at Tempe Eats and I expected it to be pretty bustling and with a lot of vendors. There were maybe 4 vendors there, with space available for additional vendors. There weren't many customers when we got there, but throughout the night, it got slightly busier. We also went on a weekday so that could've also been a factor. The process is to order through a QR code and you can see all the options from each vendor and pay directly on the site. Once your order is ready, they'll call your number and you can pick it up. Stopped by for the Fish Pop pop up and this place was busy. Every table was taken so we opted to sit outside. Here we sat for a few minutes while we waited for our food and we ran inside once we saw a table open up. The workers we interacted with all friendly and helpful. The inside was a bit too warm. The concept has potential, but the execution falls short. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt off, and I would not recommend it for families with children. We drove 45 minutes to try the Fish Pop, and it was underwhelming. It was very greasy and lacked flavor. We also ordered the quesabirrias, which were bland and noticeably underseasoned. The consome was an additional $1.75 and was extremely small and equally lacking in flavor. My daughter ordered the noodles, and unfortunately they were not good either. Service was slow, and we had to get up several times to check on our food because it was not brought to us. The decor felt inconsistent, and the signage appeared improvised. We had been wanting to give this place a try for some time now, and was going to go last Wednesday, but they were closing in 20 minutes of our arrival, but I guess we dodged that bullet. No. My husband and I visited Tempe Eats in Tempe, AZ for a date night after seeing it featured on Fox 10. We were excited by the cool concept of multiple restaurants under one roof and loved the modern setup, chill music, and friendly vibes from one of the staff members (wish we had caught her name!). Unfortunately, everything else was a major letdown -- starting with the food. I ordered from Chikpop: the OG Sando sandwich (crispy chicken thigh with OG rub, house slaw, and pink sauce on a brioche bun with fries). I took one bite and had to spit it out -- my chicken was undercooked, visibly red with a bit of blood, and totally unappetizing. The sandwich was overly battered, lacked flavor, and the fries? Honestly, my 2-year-old niece wouldn't touch them. Hate to say it, but even McDonald's or Chick-fil-A easily outshines this. After tossing that, I tried to salvage the night by ordering a Teriyaki Chicken Bowl from Yogis Grill. Again -- some of the chicken was pink. At that point, my appetite completely vanished. My husband ordered fish and chips from Fishpop, which he had high hopes for since it aired on the news. He's pescatarian and was excited to try it... but even he said it was disappointing and bland. We also got cauliflower buffalo wings from Fork OFF, which were just okay -- no seasoning, just battered cauliflower tossed in buffalo sauce. To top it off, we ordered two fountain drinks and a Heineken Zero -- only to be told at the very end that they were out of it. When we declined a replacement (since there were no other non-alcoholic options), we were asked how we wanted to pay for a mocktail instead... what? Pros: * The ambiance is great. * Music was on point. * One friendly staff member made us feel welcomed. Cons: * Undercooked food from multiple vendors. * Poor quality fries and seasoning. * A foul sewer-like smell near the drink station. * Lack of professionalism around beverage substitution. * Not ideal for date night or honestly, any night. And by the way after 45 min to an hour your cup will get soggy like a paper straw. You'll have to ask for a new one if you're wanting to take your drink Togo! We really wanted to like this place, but the food safety issues and overall experience left us disappointed. Tempe Eats has potential, but quality control across its vendors needs serious work. I would give it a 1/10 because of the music and ambience. Oh and the bathrooms were very clean.. and I don't use public bathrooms unless it's an emergency, but I always look and see just to tell you all about it! read more

I did have this day first time the fish and was excellent not greasy British but more French style like and the peas were perfect crispy fries which you can order without salt hit the spot. We were visiting from out of town, and a friend recommended we try this place. We were impressed with the modern setup and ambiance. Our kids loved the easy ordering process via QR code, especially since they could see pictures of what they were ordering. We were also given a paper menu, but I personally preferred the QR code option because it allowed me to see the pictures and pay online without waiting for the bill. We ordered a variety of dishes from different kitchens. The brisket was moist and flavorful, and my kids enjoyed watching their sushi rolls being made. The pork katsu was crunchy and delicious. I'm a big fan of elote, so I ordered two, and they were fantastic. I've given this place several chances, but when it takes an hour + to get our food (or never get your food in our case). No matter how good it is, it's just straight up ridiculous. It's never busy, today it was dead. The beverage wall is always out of things, the QR code doesn't always work well. Today the food ... BBQ.... What the heck does it take to make sliders??? Most of this looks frozen or premade. Why is it taking over an hour? Not one apology. And begrudgingly gave us a refund on the items that never showed up. A few other tables were having issues too... Order spicy fish al they do is sprinkler a little bit of Cheyenne pepper or some other chile powder on it, goof thing they have some hot sauce in bottles for you. I was like you didn't pour the beer for me I poured the beer. To mad to care, wife said she will just pay it, ok lets pay and get out of here. Well the pay to tap machine asks if you would like to leave a tip what for you get your own beer and you pick up your food when they call your name and you bussing your own table. So $#@% no tip for you, you got 18% for me pouring my own beer, get my food, and bussing my table. ( I should have cooked my own fish also maybe it wouldn't taken so long ). Once we got outside I looked at the check because the wife had it and she paid, don't worry about it. It had the on the house margarita on the bill that the bartender said on the house. I wanted to go back in and tell them about it. But I was told not to do it by my wife lets just go and we will not come here again. Way over priced and you do most of the work!! This place is cool in theory, in all actuality a little... off. A friend and I decided to hang out here on a Friday night since it's relatively new and in-between where we both live. Expectations are that it would be lots of mini stands a la cafeteria style, but in all actuality, it's a restaurant with multiple menus. TBH the menus are a little overwhelming when you're presented with all of them at once. I get that during Arizona summer the hospitality industry suffers, but my hope is that if you're to have some fun promo nights, to make sure the host isn't overbearing. I walked in and it was fairly dead. Not a bad thing, except the karaoke was too loud, and once I sat down, the host would not leave me and eventually my friend alone. We tried to be nice declining the ask to sing, but it wasn't until my friend said we wouldn't be participating for the third time did it hit her with a bit more stern tone, and she left us alone. So besides the vibes and missed expectations, the food/drinks are ok. They have a beer wall, of which is operated by a pay as you drink swipe card. Fresh, cold glasses are available in a cooler next to the wall. The craft beer selection isn't bad, and there's a full bar if you want to go that route. Food wise, we tried a few things that we enjoyed and priced appropriately- Brussels sprouts, salmon nachos, tacos and wings. This concept is super cool, but unfortunately, it's very poorly executed. I'm speaking from my experience as a food truck owner and years in the hospitality industry. If the food isn't incredible, then the execution must be flawless to encourage a return visit. We'll give this place a year to work out its kinks before we consider coming back. We visited on a Friday at 5:30 PM. This spot had been on our list to try for a while. Our first impression was that it lacked cohesion; nothing seemed to flow or look put together. The styling left much to be desired. The people next to us were waiting a long time for their to-go order, which they eventually found sitting on the counter. They left feeling frustrated, and rightfully so. As we waited, our food gradually started to come out. We ordered from multiple spots to try a variety of dishes. The corn fritters and empanadas were delicious, but the plating looked sad, and the sauce was messy. Then the yakisoba arrived. We ordered at our table, but the servers still struggled to figure out where the food was going. A sushi roll was dropped, and when we asked for soy sauce, we were given packets without a dish to mix the wasabi and soy sauce. After finishing our other dishes, we were still waiting on the tacos. When we checked on them, they casually mentioned, "Oh, do you still want those? We missed the ticket." We observed many frustrated customers around us as food was sent to the wrong tables, and others were yelling names at the front. Now I'm a bit tipsy and someone brings us a plate of ribs. Oh no, wrong table! It takes me a bit to realize that while I'd ordered short ribs, somehow that had gotten to be ribs. Eventually I'm brought what is to be "short rib" and oh my. I'm not sure what cut of beef this is or if it's even beef. It's definitely not short rib and it's not a cut of meat I've ever seen. It's very tough and coated in a very sweet sauce. The mashed potatoes on the menu with it were not with it, but would have been awful covered in that sweet sauce. The little vegetables were mostly spared the sauce so those were good. I know you may be wondering why I ordered short rib in such a place, but I love short rib and live close, so if it was good I'd be there a lot! And I did try to order a bunch of other things. Management didn't offer an apology and didn't even come up to our table until my wife assumed it was him standing by the beer machine and waved him over. DIDNT EVEN SAY SORRY!!
