We had some great bbq tonight here. There were 3 of us and we shared a full rack of ribs and a pork sandwich. We had fries, potato salad and a baked potato as sides. It was all very good. The bbq sauce was a must , it was sweet and tangy. We also ordered the peach cobbler. That was fine, but I would have liked more crust. It was pretty busy, service was fast.

This is my go to place for barbecue. It's been awhile since I was here but it was the same great service and atmosphere that I remember. I had the brisket sandwich with cowboy beans and coleslaw. Amazing food. No room for dessert but I will return to try their award winning peach cobbler soon.

I decided to try this place after my wife mentioned going here when she was little. Small restaurants that have been around a long time usually know what they're doing. The space itself isn't big, but they serve 32-ounce beers not something you see every day. I ordered the sampler with pulled pork, pulled beef, and brisket. The pulled pork was the standout, the pulled beef was okay, and the brisket was solid. I was bummed they were out of cornbread, but the mac and cheese and fried corn were both excellent. They also bring out a skillet of BBQ sauce to share, which is a nice touch. As someone who has been BBQing for years and is a bit of a BBQ snob, I've had trouble finding great BBQ in the Valley. Waldo's is definitely one of the better spots, and we'll be back. My only complaint is the LED lighting gives off serious UFO abduction vibes. Next time, I'm bringing a hat. Overall, very decent food, great service, and worth returning.

Food is outstanding, service is great and the atmosphere is really laid back. Everything was great from appetizers to the BBQ. Place was bumping with business.

I used to come here like twice a month for many years way way back. Then they changed ownership I believe and went down hill so I stopped coming. Well that and I did my own smoking meat. This restaurant is back to where it used to be. For some reason I always get the country ribs. Dinner plate you get two sides and some of the list of sides are unlimited. Ordered pulled pork sandwich with potato wedge and my old favorite country ribs. I noticed the portion were smaller than it used to be but they didn't jack up the price so I think it's fair. Country ribs were good as I remembered. Pulled pork sandwich was pretty good with good portion of the meat. Fried corn on the cob is always yummy and coleslaw not bad either. Service was good and as always food is good. I can't remember how ribs were because it had been long time since I had their ribs. Over all I like this place, nice go to place. Thursday was veteran and first responder discount which is nice. Also if you get a small seat by the bathroom you get discount for being "worst spot" at the restaurant. I would give it 3 and half if I could. Is it best bbq ever no.. Is it bad? No..

Chicken and pork mixed together which was not good.

We ordered catering and they mixed the pork and chicken. It was not written on the container so no one knew what was what. We had Muslims who couldn't eat the food due to the chicken and pork in the same space of the container. We ordered vegetarian options as well but they put meat in the beans which was very disappointing.

The food was good! The pulled pork was excellent, and the potato wedges were super crispy. The Mac n cheese was a little undersalted. A super fun vibe - it feels like you're stepping into the southwest. The service was good.

This is now my #1 BBQ place in the valley. My previous favorite was Little Miss BBQ, and they do make some great meats, but their prices are considerably higher. Waldo's still has fair prices, considering the economy we are currently in. They also have great meats. I had the juicy brisket and a sausage link. Both were absolutely delicious. As good as I've had since I left Texas twenty-four years ago. It's almost a sin to put any sauce on the brisket. However, their sauce is very addictive. They bring it out hot on a skillet, just as it should be. Sad to say that the mac & cheese was very disappointing. Like something that had been sitting in a crock pot too long at a picnic. Parts of it were dry and chewy, and it could have been more cheesy. Overall, the meat is why you're here; they do that right. I wish they treated their mac & cheese with the same love they do their brisket, but I'll just have to order more meat next time and skip the mac.

I wanted a two meat plate. The menu doesn't have a traditional selection for plate combinations…read more They specialize in sandwiches and family combinations for take home. It looked like they did sell meat by the pound and half pound, however ordering portion sizes for a meat plate, the choices are 1/4 pound increments. I chose the sausage and brisket. There is a single choice of sauce, sweet. The sausage had a consistency of a hotdog, not a typical BBQ joint casing or texture or consistency. The brisket was moist and well cooked, but felt colder to eat quickly while on the plate on a few minutes. They have a way of wanting to direct customers to their way of BBQ and ordering. It works when you are the best. I wish they were but I do not think I will be back. This just isn't what making it easy to order BBQ is all about.

We've done the brisket, pulled pork, turkey, and sausage. All are fantastic, but the brisket comes out on top. Incredible flavor and always so moist. The house made pickles are also a delightful addition. What really put it all over the top was our experience today. I was resisting the bread pudding but just couldn't stop thinking about it and ended up caving and getting it to go after we finished our meal. The man behind the counter, assuming one of the owners, made sure we got to try the homemade vanilla ice cream... game over. It was so damn good. 5/5 for food and service.

The food is superb, the briskets is excellent--malted in your mouth and sooooo delicious. And they have a ton of side dishes for you to try out. On the side station they have all kind of BBQ sauces that you can try as you wish, extra pickles or jalapeños are ready for you to add on. The service is amazing, the staff willing to help whatever you need , they even ask you before you realize you may need something--absolutely love it. The restaurant is open space, they have a lot of table for big and small groups, when you step in, straight to the counter, order, pay and grab your food, very simple service. If you are a big fan of BBQ , you gotta give it a try this place and you won't disappoint. I will come back again for sure.

Located in downtown Gilbert, this spot is fantastic. It's walk up to order, cafeteria style, pay at the end of the line. Then you grab you drinks, condiments, etc in a separate area. The line moves fast. We visited 2x's...yes, it was that good!!! First visit was mid afternoon and a short line. Next go around had us waiting about 10 minutes as it was dinner time. There is a large indoor seating area with booths on the edges and bigger tables in the middle. There is also an outdoor seating area that's covered, plus a large outdoor patio that appears to service this restaurant and Topo. There is bench seating, rocking chairs, etc. A very nice open outdoor space. Back to the food. We all loved our meals. The BBQ was flavorful, not drenched in sauce (although if you love sauce, there is a sauce bar you can add more), side dishes were are getting rave reviews as we each ordered differently, and the solo friend that ordered the lemon cake ended up sharing with all of us cuz it was truly devine. I don't get to Gilbert much, but when I do, I will be back!!!
