The Food: Small portions, overpriced, bland favor, not authentic. I got the chilaquiles for $18-$19 and it was a very small portion, the chips were hard and the flavor was a bit bland compared to other places. I've bought chilaquiles for $8 at another restaurant and the portion was much larger and more flavorful. They also give you an obsurdly small amount of beans on the side of your meal as well, with No rice. I also ordered a side of fries, a bowl of fruit(which is extremely small), and a coffee. My order came out to nearly $50‍ They add their own tip so you have no choice but to pay the service fee. My mom ordered the pancakes & let me try a bite, it was powdery, bitter, and doughy. It tasted like it was not finished. The menu is very limited & each 'hispanic' dish does not contain traditional ingredients. For example, the 'nachos' do not have beans, meat, shredded cheese or nacho cheese, guac or pico on them which is usually the main ingredient for nachos. Oh and none of their menu items have asada which is another thing that all Hispanic restaurants have. The Service: It took a little more than 1.5 hours for our food to come out. We had a party of 13 and they told us they don't do separate checks on large parties but they could do separate payments which makes no sense. So one of us had to calculate our orders and tell the waitress to charge different cards per order. The atmosphere: The decorations are cute and I enjoyed the interior design, I wish the food and service could be as good as how the place looks. The names of the foods were ridiculous, they try to make something simple sound fancy so they can charge more for it. In a nutshell, each one of us that came to this place all said we're likely not going back to Mango Haus. If you want healthy Mexican food with larger portions for cheaper prices, try VMG a couple blocks down. This place is not it. read more

This place is super tasty. We had the fish tacos that were cooked perfectly with just the right amount of spice. Then there was the pancakes! Sweet, fluffy yet dense, like cake and they are gluten and dairy free! The atmosphere and decor was fresh and inviting. The service was quick, kind and efficient. It was Christmas Eve so I was afraid they'd be closed, but they were open! The hostess was friendly and sat me at the bar while I waited for my to go order. While I waited, I chatted with two young ladies working at the bar, both of whom were extremely friendly. One of them was experimenting with a new alcoholic beverage involving Matcha and I think it's going to turn out awesome! I got the breakfast burrito with a side of fruit and a Cafe Olla. The breakfast burrito was large and delicious...easily in the top 3 breakfast burritos I've ever had. The fruit was fresh, and the Cafe Olla was so perfectly seasoned and warm and just hit the spot on Christmas Eve. I will definitely be back when I'm traveling through Bakersfield. read more

Beautiful space! The staff was very friendly and attentive to my large parties needs. We came here without a reservation and were told not to worry and just give them a couple of minutes to seat 8 and 3 kids. The menu was on the smaller side but I was appreciative of the options and the awareness to sensitivities. The menu offered gluten free and vegan options. The only con I will give them is that the food did not come out together. I don't want to deduct that from the score thought because it was so many of us. The area itself is VERY aesthetically pleasing and the staffs friendliness made it a very enjoyable time. Regarding the food, I would give it a 7/10. I was hoping for more based on the prices and the sound of the menu items. I am vegetarian and gluten free and I got the mole nachos. The mole was a little sweet for me and there was hardly any fresh cheese. It wasn't long before I got tired of eating the bare tortilla chips with pickled onions. My husband and I went to try this place on the recommendation of my son, (not disappointed), the ambience is a very nice Havana style, clean, and bright. Bri was our hostess and our waitress, very professional, polite, and friendly. I started off with a cup of coffee, and let me tell you, it was so fresh and delicious, the aroma alone was all consuming. I had the chipotle burrito, with grilled chicken, fresh vegetables, avocado, and the portion size was perfect for me, it was accompanied by chips and salsa very delicious. I ended my meal with a decadent chocolate mousse dessert, it was very satisfying and perfect for one person, needless to say, I did not share with my husband . On the way out, I noticed a small reception room adjacent to the exit of the restaurant which I asked the owners son if that was a reception room, I was told that that was a project that is forthcoming, I will definitely keep an eye on that as I would love to have a small gathering there. Cute decor, great for a luncheon with friends. The food presentation was impressive. The main reason I didn't give it 5 stars was it was incredibly hot inside, the girls and I were "glistening". Our JW Conventions started again in Bakersfield and we had the opportunity to try this new restaurant. Wow! We have found a new restaurant right down the street from the convention center. I am not good at the names of the food because they are Spanish. Loved the octopus. I like trying new foods. My wife liked the chicken. This is not Mexican, but it is foods from South America. Hummingbird cake was great! Think of a carrot cake but far better. Service was excellent and our waitress was very knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. We tried to come here again on Sunday after the convention but the stopped serving at 4 pm. We initially came on a Friday after the 1st day of the convention and had nice leftovers for lunch on Saturday. This is not a large restaurant. Great for couples dining. Mmmm! read more
