I went on a Wednesday night with my son. It was a little bit on the slow side, which is to be expected. The place was clean, which I like. The waitress was friendly and for the most part pretty attentive. I had eggplant with linguine, they gave me a fair amount, more than I expected, and I was happy with that. It actually taste quite good! My son had a hamburger with bacon, he enjoyed it. He also said his french fries were very good. I had some, they were crisp, and a good amount was given. The ambience was pretty good, not too loud, but busy enough so you felt engaged. I would definitely go again if I were in the area. read more

Very decent dinner here last night at this newish American/Italian restaurant in Brick. Large space divided into three rooms with amply space between all of the tables. We sat in the largest room in front of a gas fireplace which was nice and cozy. Overall though the interior is rather plain and not especially inviting. Not bad mind you but with this many tables and just plain tops without table cloths or even place settings it just seemed a bit too austere. This is a BYOB if you choose but they do have a license to sell wine from a South Jersey vintner by the name of Sharrott Winery located in Egg Harbor. Although we did bring our own bottle we decided to try a Sharrott Tango which is a red blend instead of ours and we are so glad we did. The Tango was excellent and at $26 a bottle a nice value as well. Sort of reminded us of a French Beaujolais being a light bright red but the Tango is a lot more complex. I would order this again in a heart beat. Now for the food - as either a soup du jour or a house sale come with your dinner selection we decide to try one of each and share. The soup was a zucchini and curry and the house salad was a nice endeavor. Both were simply delicious, with complex flavors and very pleasing. My wife opted for the chicken milanese and I went with the whole wheat pasta aioli with roasted red peppers and spinach. Each of these dishes were delicious as well. Our server Marissa did an excellent job with the meal for us and kept us nicely informed. Overall I would think in terms of (4 1/2) stars last night and perhaps after we dine here a few more times they will be bumped up to a (5) star rating. Bottom line: with a tab of $65 including a bottle of wine, a very nice value indeed. The question is not if we will return to Manera's but when! read more

We had Easter brunch yesterday and again everything was great. It was a buffet with something for everyone in my pain in the ass family. Not one complaint. The food was good. ... my. Porch seemed too rare and I was full already so I didn't really eat it but the flavor was good and all the other dishes were delicious. The service was very good . The ambiance was so bad I don't think I'll go back. It was so bright we even asked for the lights to be turned down. It felt like a bright cafeteria. Ambiance: F. We made a reservation for Saturday early - 515pm. Arrived and we were escorted to a table in the middle of the room on the left. When we rejected this (Covid), asking for a vacant table for two in the corner by the wall, we were escorted to the middle room (straight back when you enter). We were given the 3rd table back in this room, that was empty at 515pm. From our table, we heard CLANGING of pots from the kitchen (no door closes off kitchen). When there was a pause in kitchen noise, we heard LOUD music. Then, as the room we were in filled up with other diners the NOISE LEVEL got so bad I wished I had earplugs - people almost shouting to each other at their tables. If you want a quiet place for an intimate dinner with your lover, go elsewhere! Service: B. Jason was a good waiter, keeping on top of our needs even when our room filled up (around 6 pm) and he got busy. My criticism of servers, however, is that only a few were properly masked for Covid with Delta variant spreading now. Some wore masks under their chins, some under their noses. Food: B+ we had an appetizer of grilled vegetables with mozzarella, $10, dinner salads and nice warm bread, Mediterranean Cod $23, and Sesame encrusted Tuna $26. Beverages: A. This restaurant has a strange policy. Apparently they do not have a liquor license, but can sell a few bottles of NJ wines for around $25 per bottle. But, you can BYOB as well, which, of course, saves you money. So, overall only 3 stars. We went out early hoping to avoid crowds and have a quiet meal. Food was good, ambiance was lousy. read more

Went here for the first time yesterday. I had veal, wife had scallops, girls had Mediterranean cod. For appetizers we had the lump crab, tuna tartar and a dozen clams on the half-shell. The food was delicious and we intend to go back. Servers were very friendly and pleasant. It's nice to find a newer restaurant in the area that provides quality food and a nice pleasant atmosphere. The interior is nice and works well, but something is missing. Perhaps some candles, table cloths or flowers to add to the ambiance might help. The waitresses were great but need to take drink orders quickly! Once the table sits, it's important to get there ASAP and read off the specials. First time dining here was Christmas Eve. The staff were great from the very welcoming hostesses to the server and managers. They offered a limited menu so we did not get to try all of the menu options. Appetizers was fried calamari very good cut thicker than most places, the entrees all came with a salad I had the Caesar really liked the dressing, For the entrees we had a Swordfish cooked just right, NY Strip Steaks served the temperature ordered very flavorful, crab cakes over a fantastic Risotto, and a seven seas seafood over squid ink linguine it was okay. A request was made for simple item off the menu (mussels in garlic butter) which unfortunately the restaurant could not accommodate but we understood it was a busy Holiday night. My pops and I had a great dinner at Brick's newest BYO restaurant, Manera's! He got the 12-oz sirloin with garlic compound butter and a baked and I got veal stuffed with prosciutto mozzarella broccolini and mushroom duxelle with garlic mashed. Dinner was served with soup or salad. Dad got the soup d'jour, chicken florentine with feta that he loved. I got a yummy Caesar for a slight upcharge. They did sell wine by the bottle or the split but we brought our own. The design is stark and modern, the main room has a nice fireplace and there is a private room behind a dividing wall. The service was excellent--professional and attentive. We got to take advantage of a $10 coupon that was in the Clipper magazine. Check it out, I don't think you'll be disappointed! (Better for a date than for a family with rambunctious kids!) Final note, we felt perfectly covid-safe in terms of staff and placement of other guests. read more

Had dinner here tonight for our anniversary . Waitress Lisa was excellent and great from start to finish. We started with the crab cocktail which was so yummy and fresh . Then I got the house soup of the day which was the vegetable barley . It was so good I took a quart home . Then I had the ny strip which was cooked perfectly and my husband had the special seafood risotto , that dish was even better than my steak . Only complaint was that it was our anniversary and place tends to get loud fast , but I will definitely be back for the food . We were so full we took dessert home . We went to the Brick restaurant to try the early bird specials. Between us we had a delicous Lemon Chicken Orzo soup. An Assorted Salad, very assorted and great. The Fried Seafood Combo (shrimp and cod) was cooked to perfection; it was served with French Green Beans, wonderful Fries and 3 sauces. The other entree was Panko Veal Samtimbocca which came with Carmelized Onion Mashed Potatoes. This was followed by coffee, tea and slices of creamy cheesecake. The staff was so pleasant and excellent with details on the evening specials. They answered all of our questions and made suggestions for those torn between menu items. We started with Butternut Squash soup and then your traditional Turkey dinner of white and dark meat, sweet and mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and stuffing. All on one plate. Our server Juan D. was terrific. Very attentive and knowledgable. The food however was on the mediocre side and small in proportions. The best thing being the warm bread. I had the Chicken Milanese and my wife had the Shrimp BLT Salad. The chicken was what looked to be no more than a 2oz cutlet that had been pounded to about an eighth of an inch thick and breaded then covered with an over dressed arugula salad.
