Great find while out on an adventure. Staff- Tonight I got the pleasure of meeting Wendy and Carlos. They were so welcoming. They took the time to walk us though the menu and to offer suggestions. They also gave us special sauces since my friend liked spices Food - we tried both the tacos and the quesadilla. Both were amazing! Tacos are great beef and chicken. Probably about as authentic as you are going to get. The only thing I wish they would sell sides like rice and beans to go with the tacos,other than that they're amazing. Super nice and friendly. read more

Super authentic and delicious. Their specialty is the al pastor pork shoulder that they slice off a rotisserie with the julienne pineapple and onions. So tender and to die for! Place is clean and well maintained. read more

After reading the reviews, we decided to give this place a try. The restaurant is small but wide, with all of the tables lined against the walls. Large stickers adorn the corner of the wall that's closest to the entrance and decorations line the leftmost wall as well. There are also picnic tables outside, so if there isn't any room to sit inside, there is plenty of room outdoors. We walked up and ordered before sitting down. Daughter had the lenguas tacos and thought it was juicy and delectable. She thought the texture was perfect. I had the Mixtos Alambres (chicken, steak, chorizo) and thought it looked weird, like a cheesesteak that missed the hoagie. But, it actually tasted like the perfect cheesesteak. He wished that they'd provide a bun. But, even better, they provided 4 warm tortillas and the diet's over. We were happy! Lastly, Hubs had the campesina/steak quesadilla. He ordered this because he thought we ordered the 2 best items. He can actually say that this was the best quesadilla he's ever had. He's never ordered any standard sounding meat items in Mexican places because it's usually cooked into shoe leather. But, this came out flavorful and moist. Service was quick and friendly. Glad we tried this place! Will definitely return when in the area to try other items on the menu! read more

Food is great but check your order thoroughly before you leave. They left out an item and would not fix the charge despite my return to the storefront. Suddenly the counter person could not understand that I wanted a refund for the one item not given and did not know how to do that on the register. This was after I had tipped well in cash when picking up the order, no one called me back to address the issue. I will not return because of the service. read more

I found this place by accident. I was looking for the bike shop in the next plaza. I wound up going 3 times the week that I first tried it. Their salsas are amazing their steak tacos are great. Very good tacos! A bit disappointed they didn't make a churrizo torta for my wife as a special request. But the items we did get were all good to very good. Meats were all seasoned. The homemade red and green chili sauce added a lot of flavor and heat. Will definitely go back read more

I'm so glad we decided to stop and try something new! Wendy and Carlos were very welcoming and answered all of our questions about the menu. We ordered the Al Pastor tacos... delicious! The tacos were topped with fresh cilantro, diced pineapple, and chopped onions and garnished with sliced radishes and lime slices. The prices are well worth it. The decor in the restaurant was very festive and inviting. I can't wait to visit again. read more

If you like tacos, and want something truly delicious, you absolutely need to stop by Tacos Los Compas the first chance you get. These are true, authentic tacos, and are served up just as quick as the junk you get from places like Taco Bell, AND for about the same price. An easy decision, if you ask me! Situated in the "heart" of Brick (near the Hospital, a sort of middle-ground between the 08723 and 08724 sides of town), this little shop is a true gem. Walking in, the decor is festive and open, as well as incredibly clean. The kitchen is in full view, often with a delicious al pastor shawarma rotating on the spit, with a pineapple on top. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and more than happy to explain various menu items if you have any questions. Two large beverage dispensers bubble away with horchata and jamaica, a great choice to wash down the tacos with. The menu is small, and consists of tacos, quesadillas, and alambres. I'd love to see more restaurants do this, as it allows the staff to focus their attention on making those items even better. It shows here; every single thing I've tried has been incredibly flavorful, and the prices are very reasonable, as well. Tacos are purchased in packs of 4, usually around $10 (at the time of this writing), putting the cost about the same as a taco truck. A pack of 4 tacos is a perfect portion for lunch, although if you're very hungry or have a big appetite, it might not hurt to order a quesadilla or something extra. Since the menu is simple, the food is prepared quickly, and I've never waited more than 5-10 minutes for my food. My personal favorites so far are the campechanos tacos, as well as the al pastor, though you really can't go wrong with any of them, imo. Tacos Los Compas is a very welcome addition to town, and one that is well worth a visit. Be warned, you might find yourself hopelessly addicted, as I am! I'm already looking forward to my next visit. read more

Great authentic tacos! Usually get Al pastor tacos and they're very tasty and recently they added a soft taco version which the difference is the tortilla is flour instead of corn and they add some different toppings making it more of a American version of taco I guess I could say? Regardless both versions are very good. Quesadilla is top notch also I've had a few and they don't disappoint. I love the variety of sauces I get they vary greatly in heat and flavor and there's one for all preferences. Best tacos around hands down! read more

Definitely not a fancy place, but spotlessly clean and you can tell they're always working to keep things as fresh as possible. I had the chicken tacos and a horchata, both were fantastic. I had a second plate of chicken tacos and am happily on my way to a food coma. Definitely worth traveling from Seaside for! read more

So so SO good. Fresh food prepared right--as simple as that yet very hard to find these days. Very nice guys working there and the homemade drinks are phenomenal. I'm not sure I'll be going back for a 2nd try at Sofia's. Once I'm disappointed, I tend to not do it again but you never know. My client paid for my meal and I'm grateful for that. My client and his neighbor enjoyed their meals so I'm grateful for that as well.

Speaking of lunch, they do a daily lunch special for $10 that blows most local places out of the water, and comes with either 2 chicken tacos, empenadas, or tamales, as well as a side of rice & beans and a beverage. The black beans were very watery, so also not appealing. Sorry to say this is not a place we'll be visiting again.

I had a cappuccino and it was tasty. My beaux had one of the brunch specials and I thought it was tasty but he wished the braised meat was more fatty,but I personally thought it was perfect. :). The diner was festive, busy, and pretty noisy which we thought would have been a good spot to mask our noisy group. . I miss the Brownstone when they had one in Jersey City so it was a nice chance to check out this other location of theirs.

In season tomatoes would've clearly brought up to a 10. Gyro platter was served with fries, rice or potatoes which I chose and simply delicious. Also came with a small bed of salad and tzatziki sauce. An unbelievable portion size and quality another solid 9. Serving size I would give an 11! Wife's soup was also delicious and between half a salad and cup of soup, she couldn't finish and had to take home. A wonderful dining experience and this will be on our lists of stops.
