Had been to other Shore Fresh location near inlet, and enjoyed. Decided to try Bridge Ave location, big mistake. My New England clam chowder arrived COLD, and was chock full of a spice (thyme?) that made it inedible. My wife's hot lobster roll was terrible; instead of having drawn butter, it was full of marinara sauce. Again, almost inedible. We ate outside on a nice evening and the tables were jammed together. Not good. Service was okay, but very slow (waitress apologized for that). On a more positive note, our shared garden salad and my broiled seafood combo were both alright. Cute spot, casual and friendly too. This place has the freshest seafood and it's delicious. The salads are generous, lobster rolls (hot or cold) amazing and they know how to do fries. The content of my first review still stands, however, I wanted to add a few things. 1) HIGHLY recommend the clams oregano and/or the fried calamari (with buffalo sauce!) for appetizers. 2) Shore Fresh offers a huge selection of soft drinks, ranging from Coke products to flavored teas and Stewart's sodas. The place was busy and only one server so we waited awhile for everything. We weren't in a hurry so we understood and were ok with that. At about 6:15 I ordered 6 more oysters. When the bill came it was $3.00 each for the 1/2 dozen. I questioned it I am at their market 1or 2 times a week ordering fish, am a local and patronize them. And it's not the summer. She checked with the owner and we were told THAT'S THE PRICE! I will drive over the bridge and buy my seafood from now on. Service is generally pretty nice. The food here can be good if you keep it very simple- peel and eat shrimp, lobster Mac and cheese, etc. but the entrees are just passable. The blackened mahi looked great, but was very overcooked. The side of broccoli must have been blanched for 20 seconds because it was still basically raw. Everything inexplicably comes with a side of prepackaged Ken's steakhouse ranch dressing, presumably to dip your fish in which idk, seems disgusting--this isn't Ohio. This location has one of the best salmon that I've had so far. The grilled salmon to be specific. Grilled with the perfect char that you can smell and taste and the perfect crispy yet moist consistency. The best part is the salmon had the perfect amount of seasoning. Just wished the potatoes were a bit more cooked - they were not tender and could have been simmering for a bit longer, but overall a nice soup, served hot and fresh with a packet of oyster crackers. For $13, I tried the fish and chips and was pleasantly surprised to be given a choice on the type of fish. I went with the cod. The chips (french fries) were excellent, really tasty and fluffy. So his final decision is to give us a 10% discount on our check lol which means we got the broccoli for free lmao so my daughter went over to him asking why he didn't just take the broccoli off the check mind u I told the waitress that I needed it extra soft being the baby was gonna eat it. He finally took the check back and took off the broccoli and just dumped the check on the table and walked away!! The salads were made of fresh,crisp veggies. The seafood bisque was disappointing. It basically taste like stock with very little cream and even less seafood. That would be the one thing I wish they had done better. The bathroom was OK. That could've been nicer. But overall really no complaints. The prices were right. The sea food was fresh. My fried shrimp sandwich had no flavor at all and no dressing even though when we called they said it has a taco sauce on it. Fries were bland, practically raw and cold and no salt. The lobster rolls looked like they were put into a blender. My wife asked for extra ketchup and we got none! No napkins or utensils but it came with Cole slaw that I guess we could eat with our hands or just pour it into our mouth. But it was hot and bland as well.
