Clear Hibachi Soup, Harumaki, & Gyoza

Ended up here after trying to go out for dinner on a Saturday night where the first place we tried down the road was packed, had a 45 minute wait for food and a 1.5 hour wait for to go orders, and not to mention the staff seemed rude, but I am so happy that was how it worked out. U House was the saving grace of the night. We were sat right away, staff was so kind, helpful, attentive, and the food came out in a really timely manor. The quality, portions, and taste were all amazing. We had the harumaki, spring rolls, and two hibachi dinners, filet and steak, left the restaurant super satisfied and with enough leftovers for another meal. Highly recommend!

U House is great spot to get good Japanese food and amazing seafood boil! Don't be thrown off by the mixed cuisine they execute both fantastically. Highly recommend getting a bento box, everything was fresh and a nice mix of everything. But if you wanna get messy with some seafood get a boil bag, covered in garlic and butter. Service was good and the inside is super clean. Can't wait to be back!

The sushi here is always so amazing and the lovely staff is very welcoming whenever we do return. We look forward to returning soon to try more items off the menu.

    Crispy Rice Tuna

I think they are trying to do to many different type of foods so everything is mediocre. The staff if very friendly, but the food doesn't warrant a return visit. My family got a sushi roll lunch, a hibachi lunch, a kani salad, and tuna crispy rice. The sushi roll lunch was basically like getting rolls from ShopRite, nothing special, didnt taste fresh. The hibachi lunch was okay, but tasted like teryaki not a traditional hibachi lunch. The kani salad wasn't really seasoned so was kind if disappointing. The tuna crispy rice was the worst, way too much rice for the amount of tuna, not crispy at all, just like hot spicy tuna on mushy rice. Really disappointed, wont be returning.

Great food every time we come. I would recommend the shrimp tempura. This is the go-to spot for my family.

From the moment we walked in, everything felt special -- the atmosphere, the décor, the energy of the room. It was warm, elegant, and inviting without ever feeling stuffy. The food was absolutely outstanding. We started with the **Wagyu meatballs** and **clams casino**, which were flawless. For our main courses, my girlfriend had the **lobster risotto**, and I ordered the **ribeye (cowboy steak, bone-in)** -- truly next-level. I also had the **macaroni and cheese** as a side, and it was phenomenal. Every bite was five-star. What really elevated the entire experience was the hospitality. **Maître D David** made sure everything was perfect and that we were completely comfortable throughout the night. We also had the pleasure of meeting **Frank**, the creator behind the restaurant. Spending time talking with him about his vision, how he built Rue 561, and sharing stories about **Brooklyn -- Flatbush and Sheepshead Bay**, where my girlfriend has roots, made the night even more meaningful. You can feel the pride and intention behind every detail. If you're celebrating something truly special in life, **this is the place to do it**. Thank you again for an incredible New Year's Eve dinner. -- **Billy Irish**

The fish was incredibly fresh and the pricing was very reasonable. We tried to ask some qs, but didn't get a lot of help. Definitely head to Ortley if you're in need of some very fresh fish!

Our order was ready in a flash: 1lb clam strips - fresh & hot, with cocktail & tartar sauces 1/2lb shrimp salad - plump shrimp in a simple mayo, celery, who knows what else dressing Jumbo shrimp cocktail - these huge shrimp were 3 bites each, & needed nothing else but lemon & cocktail sauce I had never seen crab sauce before - it's apparently one whole crab per container of red sauce! There was an empty shelf in the fridge & we learned that it was clam sauce that was so popular it was sold out (made in the morning). Both the New England & the Manhattan chowders sounded tempting, as was the jambalaya & lobster rolls. So tempting, that we came back the very next morning to have the same lunch & also pre-order 4 paellas to go. A couple hours later, the hot paella was packed securely for us. It was heavy, and looked & smelled amazing. It fed a lot of impressed people! Warm service, seats to eat in, lots of people coming to take out or get seafood to cook at home. This is the place for fresh seafood!

Not that we needed it (explained later.) There is a 3.29% service fee on the receipt. They will charge it for debit cards, too, which I was under the impression that's illegal. There is nothing in there to absorb all the noise, so if you have sensory issues this is not the place. Both of us are constantly at concerts and this was overwhelming. We couldn't talk to each other comfortably. The bolognese ($24) looked more of a vodka sauce than tomato and had way too much oil in it. His gnocchi ($24) was a good sauce, but the gnocchi itself tasted like it came from a box. The real star was the bread and dip they brought out. Had a bunch of garlic and crushed red pepper in it. I ate more of that than my pasta. From the moment we sat down we were rushed. The server was kind, but we barely had time to look over the menu. Once the check was brought she hovered. My bf barely got his signature finished before she collected the receipt and tried to take all the glasses off the table (she did put the water back down.) It was very crowded so I'm sure they want to turn tables, but back off. We felt unwelcome, and it certainly wasn't a dinner we needed to rush through. Safe to say we won't be back.

I immediately noticed the Trenton tomato pie on the menu, but my bride overruled me and she ordered the regular pie. While waiting for our pie, a Trenton pie came out and was served next us. It looked awesome. Our pie arrived as we were finishing our cocktails. Perfect timiing. Pie was delicious. Nice crisp undercarriage, just the right amount of cheese and sauce. I added a pinch of oregano, my squeeze added a pinch of hot pepper. The pie is typical bar pie size and we ate it all. Go early if you want a seat at the bar.
