The service is friendly, on point and fast, and the food was absolutely amazing. Went here for my first time this week and was surprised as it's really small inside, and a little dated. But the shock came with the menu-- literally there were one 100 options for breakfast!! My husband got eggs Benedict but subbed the Canadian bacon for tomatoes (which he said he could taste that they were fresh Jersey tomatoes!). I got the Britain: 2 poached eggs on creamed chipped beef over English muffins. Both came with home fries; his also had a fresh fruit cup. The portions were HUGE!! The taste was very good! Everything freshly cooked to order. I also got coffee and my husband was thrilled to get Coke (seems most places have Pepsi). The Health Department reported worrisome conditions: Mariner's Cove at 712 Union Ave. in Brielle. The restaurant was dumping dirty mop water outside and the not keeping the area from its dumpsters clean of "litter, garbage, greasy grime." It needed to clean its ice machine and fix a handwash sink that was leaking. Raw meat was found stored incorrectly, both near cooked meat and on a shelf over raw vegetables. Some food items were stored uncovered in the walk-in refrigerator and potatoes were also found to be stored on the basement floor instead of at least six inches off the ground. A can of pesticide was found on a window sill. read more

I've never seen menu with so many choices in my life. lol. Cute little place in Brielle with a huge menu. We went in for breakfast but being it was almost noon we ordered lunch instead. The burger was delicious! It was cooked perfectly and came with crispy fries, slaw and pickle. I wasn't too crazy about the skirt steak sandwich on focaccia bread. It was good but I prefer more of a traditional cheese steak on a hoggie roll with rib eye steak. The focaccia bread made it hard to eat. It kind of fell apart with all the peppers and onions sliding out of the sides. Good flavor but very messy. lol Great service and we did not have to wait for a table. The also have seating at the counter top. Can't wait to got back and try one of their many omelette choices. It will probably take me a long time to decide which one to choose. ha ha. The read more

Great little old school style spot in Brielle, just before the bridge into Point Pleasant. We stopped in on an unusually warm (65 degrees) Saturday in January and there was no wait, which we are told is very uncommon. The waitress said she's never seen it that empty before on a Saturday. For food I got the Poor Boy Omelette - essentially a Western just with pork roll. Pork roll, peppers, onions, potatoes & cheese. They do their "omelettes" a little different I'd call it more of a scramble. They add the home fries into it which I really like. Regardless it was a MASSIVE portion and delicious. I think I ate maybe 1/3 of what they brought me. 2 very big eaters could easily share one of these. Leftovers for at least 1 more meal. My girlfriend got a goat cheese omelette which she really liked and we split a short stack of pancakes, which were also good but very unnecessary with the rest of our food. Overall, old school feel, huge portions & tasty food. I would definitely recommend and will be looking to come back sometime in the future. read more

Hadn't been here in while but very glad we went back. The food was excellent. I had the pizza omelette with the works. Besides the eggs it was filled with Italian sausage pepperoni onions and peppers. It was topped with lots of parmigiana cheese and tomato sauce. Served with browned potatoes with peppers and onions and toast too. At the table we also had blueberry pancakes with a lot of fresh blueberries and an Australian omelette which had lots of feta spinach and mushrooms. I'm definitely a fan of this landmark breakfast spot. From it's quirky wooden nooks and crannies, the incredibly friendly and competent waitresses to the huge portions and almost too many tasty options. I'm in this area for fishing in the warmer months and know I'll work another visit in. Even though they boast over 250 omelettes, it was closer to lunch than breakfast so I was hankering for something brunchy. I selected a breakfast burger, George's, and was happy with the choice. A fresh beef patty cooked to the requested medium, with bacon, sautéed mushrooms, cheese, chili, lettuce, tomato and onion. Oh, and a fried egg to make it a breakfast sandwich. Good burger and good brioche roll too. The patty could have been seasoned more, but with everything else going on it was not an issue. This dish came with a heaping serving of their very good hash browns. My dining companion selected choc chip pancakes, 3 big fluffy ones with chips on top. These are very good pcakes served with a little fruit cup. We also shared an order of the German potato pancakes, 3 hefty ones that come with bacon, sour cream and applesauce. They were ok and the only item we wouldn't reorder. Shore areas can be tricky to find good places to eat at, but breakfast and lunch spots seem to be more consistent and sustainable, not to mention a better value. This one was likely a template that others have used to start their own businesses. On this off season visit it was all locals, and you could tell they were regulars. I look forward to more visits, with their huge and tempting menu, it might be awhile before I actually order an omelette though. read more

The 'Cove' while may appear to be a just another diner, is... except for one thing. 250 omelettes! no joke either, right on the front of the menu they list dozens of omelette combinations all with unique names and inclusions. I went with the "Hatfield and Mcoy" omelette which was basically a huge omelette with chili dumped all over it. It was awesome. The chili was well made and the omelette was great as you'd hope from a diner that specializes in them. What caught me off guard was the omelette is huge, like maybe the biggest omelette I've ever eaten! I literally had leftovers of for like 3 days and that's after my first sitting with it! All the omelettes come with toast, which you may not even need if all of them are the size of the one I got. In addition to this, I had a short stack of pancakes which were pretty good, and kept warm as I tried to eat off my omelette and sip my coffee. The staff here were all nice, with the waitresses all donning NFL jerseys of different teams which is a nice touch and offers up conversation while dining. The front check in/cashier lady is very hospitable and has that diner presence making you want come and come again. The menu has all your favorite diner fare along with the omelettes so there is no reason not to stop in. There is a "snug" section that would be a nice place to sit on a return visit. As expected for a diner there are several booth and table seats along with counter seating. Décor is reminiscent of a TGIFridays but a bit less over done and more inspirational or vintage décor which is nice. I'd definitely like to come back as it's one of, if not the most unique diner I've ever been to and would love to try another omelette. We all ordered very different breakfast dishes and all were very happy with it. From the eggs benedict, to Nutella crepes, to the Skillet Special. They are HUGE servings so some of us just couldn't finish it all. Mine came with home fries, which I had a couple bites of, and it was jam packed with flavor. At first I thought the waitress was a little egh, but she warmed up quickly. It's small place and not alot of parking so go on a weekday or get there early I'm sure. The menu itself is overwhelming. It might be best to know what you want before you show up, because it's hard for multiple people to hold open those menus at the same time at the small tables.
