Have come several times since it changed hands and wanted to finally give a review. Loved John & Elayne's, went there for years with my father-in-law. At the Point is amazing as well! Not often does a place do as well or better than the last place when it changes hands and the previous joint was a local favorite. At the Point IMHO is one of those such spots. The menu is flat out one of the best I've seen in years! So many amazing choices from savory to sweet, creative fun names for everything, outstanding choices, tons of options for every palate. They kept some of the staples from before which is a nice hat tip to tradition but you can also tell the new chef/owner wanted to have some fun with the menu and it's a hit in my book! The food is very fresh, coffee hot and delicious, and the service is as good as it always was! Tanya is the best! The pancakes are next level, all of their omelettes I've tried have been dynamite, favorites include the French Onion Omelette, Reef & Beef and Juan in a Million. Today we had the Sunrise in Tulum Birria tacos and Country Benny (okay along with a flight of pancakes, stop judging). Everything was great! Avocado toast options are fantastic as well. Love seeing such an iconic local breakfast joint not only stay as good as it's always been but actually improve. Went here on a Sunday morning for breakfast. We love how they updated the old place. It looks fabulous, neat and clean. The service was great- friendly and accommodating. The food was good. Hubby got eggs Benedict and I got an egg white omelette with avocado and fresh fruit. The avocado was a little brown so it wasn't freshly cut, but the fruit was fresh and juicy. I was glad to get multi-grain toast! Next time there, though, I'll definitely bring a sweater as the AC made me cold. read more

We've been to At The Point Diner twice now. They are an actual legitimate diner that has breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So far we've had breakfast and dinner and both were excellent. We plan on returning in the next couple of days. This place could easily become our sole source of food with the exception when we want pizza or bagels until we finish the project we are working on. Then it will become a regular place to eat. read more

Cute diner near the shore in Point Pleasant. We went at lunch, where we could choose from breakfast or lunch. Both the taste of the food and the service were fine, neither great nor terrible. There is a large selection of food, even for kids, so there's a little something for everyone. read more

Came to sample their brunch which looks very extensive from the menu but the items themselves do not live up to expectations. Everything was bland, bland, and bland. The under seasoning on both our items suggests that it is not unique to the items we ordered but to the chef. In addition, though this probably their busy time on a Sunday, table management was poor and they kept us waiting though there were open tables in the back room. Unlikely to return in the future though prices were fair. read more

A welcome new addition to Point Pleasant Beach! At The Point Diner is inviting, comfortable, and already delivering great food and service. The menu includes all the classics plus nice extras like espresso drinks, fresh-squeezed juices, and rotating dinner specials. The Chicken Parm (pictured) was excellent -- big portion, great flavor, and nicely presented. The Reuben was solid, and the chocolate cake was incredibly rich -- more like fudge than cake. Easy to find -- it's in the same building as The School Uniform Shop and right next to CVS on Richmond Ave. Definitely worth checking out if you're looking to try a fresh new local diner! read more

worst diner experience ever. we started waiting to be seated and no workers came to sit us we only got seated once we finally got ahold of a server. there was 3 of us and we all got a simple pancake breakfast and by the time we got our food we had been waiting for over an hour. we had to get a waiter to check on our food because we were wa so long and she brought over dirty plates. we got our pancakes and the blueberry one was completely raw like cut open to see straight pancake batter and the two chocolate chip pancakes were also not fully cooked. the waiters were nice about it and took off the blueberry raw pancakes from our bill but that was the worst diner experience we have ever had so disappointing will never come back read more

First time diner - Now last time diner. So very disappointing since this locale gets decent reviews. Pork roll egg and cheese sandwich on a hard roll and coffee = a cool $19.85. Yes, the price was listed on the menu and I was aware of the price, but the sandwich was skimpy and I mean super skimpy given that pork roll is such a prized and coveted cut of meat. Only allowed to have my eggs scrambled or done hard despite my request to have my eggs over easy. Seriously? I am the consumer so why not permit me to have my eggs in this sandwich the way I want? Coffee - OK - super small cup but at least I was permitted to fix my own coffee. Comfort of the booth - Saggy and uncomfortable like sitting in a ditch. One redeeming feature - second server on duty did offer to remake the sandwich which I declined because I was more than ready to leave. So I will give her credit, where credit is due and thank you for the offer. That's it - Will definitely NOT go back nor will I post any type of recommendation. read more

I've frequent this restaurant a few times. Today I invited my friend to join me for lunch. We ordered an item ftom the special menu. We ordered salad with our meal which was a wrong decision. The lettuce was all brown which in my opinion should have been thrown out instead of served. Are two meals were just ok. I guess its just good to go to fr breakfast. When we mentioned it to the waiter it didn't faze him at all. No respond!! read more

Our first visit here since the change in ownership. Upon entering, it was a complete WOW, beautifully redone and exceedingly clean. We were seated immediately and coffee brought promptly. We both got eggs Benedict and it was delicious. The background music was serene, which was such a pleasant change from the TV that was always on under previous ownership. We will be back! read more

We went today for breakfast and it looks like the place hit the ground running. Busy. It's been spruced up since the John & Elaine days. Very pricy menu. I compare all breakfast prices to I Hop's 55 and over senior menu, where every entree is about 8 bucks. Breakfast is breakfast. The only difference is the price and maybe the quality of a waffle or hollandaise sauce. There were 3 of us and we ordered a variety of egg items. I only had one request for my breakfast sampler. I wanted. Rye toast, uncut and unbuttered. Of course it came cut and buttered. The little sausage was tasty, bacon standard, big slice of ham was tasteless. Come on, cook that thing and put some charr on it. The hashbrowns were tasteless. No onions or peppers. The pork roll egg sandwich came without cheese. It might have been extra? The pork roll was not tangy. Our sever was nice but I did get attitude when I asked another server if there was a dinner menu we could look at while we waited. She gave a curt "NO". So breakfast for 3 was over 50 bucks and the worst part? This is another restaurant that charges customers and extra 3 percent for using a credit card. I hate that .Just incorporate it into your already high prices. BTW Don't most cards give 2% cash back? read more
