Located just down the road from Jenkinson's Boardwalk is Shore Points Coastal BBQ. There's many options from steak sandwiches to tacos to burgers and salads, something for everyone. We were greeted right away from a friendly welcoming man and were seated right away. I had the birria taco and barbacoa taco - barbacoa taco was the best one. So flavorful and filling. The birria taco tried its best but if you want something authentic it's definitely not here for the birria taco. The broth was more tomato base than what it's supposed to be and the taco itself was a bit more tougher than the authentic Mexican dish. My son enjoyed his burger but didn't care for the fries or cheese sauce on the side he ordered. My fiancé didn't care for his skirt steak sandwich too much, as it was difficult to chew. The lemonade was delicious. Service was great - thanks Sophie (I think her name was?). There's free street parking nearby and there may even be a parking lot behind? My brother and his wife have been raving about the breakfast at this place for years! I was skeptical because going to a BBQ place for breakfast felt weird, but BOY was I wrong. This might be my new favorite breakfast spot in Point Pleasant, and I'm almost hesitant to say that because we got in without a wait at 10 am on a Sunday and it feels like some kind of local secret. I shared the blueberry pancakes and Border Benedict with my mom. We love doing a sweet/savory split. Both were exceptionally good. The Benedict comes on a cornbread waffle and it was really special. This is such a unique and amazing BBQ restaurant. They have their own twist in many dishes that you wouldn't traditionally associate with a BBQ joint including their Birria tacos (10/10) and my favorite, their beef burnt end tacos. The burgers are excellent, the owner and staff are friendly and courteous, and the restaurant is quaint yet accommodating. They were fried to crisp perfection but still fall off the bone tender, the thai sweet chili sauce made you want to continue to eat them. For mains we got the Nashville chicken sandwich with French fries that did not fall below any fried potato standard, the chicken was white meat with a perfect fry. The beef burnt end tacos was our next main. The balance of these flavors was something you can only wish for. Fresh crunchy jalapeños, and sweet pineapple really topped off the BBQ flavor of the beef, the tortillas were also crispy and held together this monstrous taco very well. We were here years ago and loved it. Then Covid. Then renovations. Finally we were able to return and our anticipation was satisfied with amazing food. Took my daughter here for breakfast before her shift began this morning at a nearby establishment and we were so happy we chose Shore Points BBQ! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly waitress and a gentleman I believe was the owner. They were super sweet and so welcoming. We both had omelets, and could not have been more pleased with the quick service, generous portions and incredibly delicious meal! Could not think of a single negative! WOW I'm impressed! I had the cornbread waffle, and it came with honey butter. It was so unique and delicious!I had the Mac Daddy burger without the mayo or bacon. I had them add bbq sauce to it. It was one of the BEST BURGERS I EVER HAD! It was topped with fried Mac and cheese, caramelized onions, and the bbq sauce I added gave it so much flavor! It was a big and juicy burger too! It came with house made fries that were very good! The burgers come with fries, but some of the sandwiches come with potato chips. I'm not a fan of potato chips in general, and I'm wondering if I can substitute them for these delicious fries instead? I'll as next time. I asked what desserts they had as they didn't have a dessert menu online. I chose the banana, chocolate chip, and coconut bread which was good. If it had more chocolate chips and that were ooey gooey then it would of been amazing. They should add an ice cream sandwich waffle to their dessert menu since they make a perfect waffle. They appear to do quite a good amount of takeout business based on the number of folks picking up while we were there. Now let's talk about the food. First thing is that you should come hungry or be prepared to take food home. I decided to go with the Mac Daddy burger to sum it up...yum! Soft shell crab in brioche and my hubby is shrimp salad sandwich. Let me tell you - not any ordinary shrimp salad sandwich. Both are a must try. There is a large menu for both breakfast and lunch. The breakfast menu has a large selection of eggs benedict, omelets, waffles, and crepes. Too many options to make a quick decision. The avocado and cheese omelette I ordered was more of a fritatta than what I was expecting. The large scoop of guacamole on top made up for that. My second visit had me ordering the monterey style eggs benedict, a plate of 2 poached eggs on an english muffin topped with diced tomato, pepper, onion, and guacamole, finished with a light hollandaise sauce. My buddy read about this place in a magazine, so we went. It's in Downtown Point Pleasant Beach, but it's a little off the main drag. When we went there was ample street parking. They are located in the same strip as the Poached Pear Bistro, which is another highly rated restaurant. But the two places are not really competitors because they offer different cuisine. We went for breakfast. I really liked how they have a huge selection of different types of Eggs Benedict. It's my favorite! Mine was a fusion between Pulled Pork and Eggs Benedict. The recipe was creative, and it worked. The iced tea was a better quality one, and they had no problem refilling my glass several times. The service was attentive, and they get you what you need right away. Although I felt oh so very slightly rushed, I can understand because it was Memorial Day. They had special hours for Memorial Day, so it might be good to double check if you want to go there on a day when they are not normally open. read more
