What a find! Excellent service and food. On your first visit you feel as if you are family! Staff and management are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. An amazing array of breakfast possibilities including personalised omelettes and even grits are available! The quiche is the best one I've had since France. Lunch and dinner are excellent too - sandwiches and seafood are fresh and the right portions are always served. The diner is meticulously clean and beautifully decorated right down to artistic and hand crafted menus. And the price is fair for what you get. Also you can take one of their delicious desserts home with you if you are too full to eat it there. Definitely one of the best eateries in the area. I don't normally leave reviews, but my recent experience was bad enough that I feel compelled to share it. This was the second-worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. The chicken noodle soup tasted foul--almost as though the soup pot hadn't been properly cleaned between uses. My mother ordered a fruit cup with her meal, but the first thing they brought her was French fries. When they corrected the mistake, they brought out watermelon, pineapple, and banana slices. While the fruit itself would have been fine, the banana was already beginning to brown, which made it look particularly unappetizing. Unfortunately, the problems didn't stop there. The French toast was limp and undercooked, and the French fries were hot on the outside but cold in the middle. The experience was bad enough that we noticed another customer at a table across and diagonally from us take one bite of his burger, put it down, get up, and leave without eating any more. By the time we left, we hadn't been able to eat much of anything. We ended up stopping at McDonald's on the way home because we were still hungry and needed something we could actually eat. I understand that mistakes happen in restaurants, but this was far beyond a single mistake or an off dish. I went to Corner Post today. I opted for eggs while mygrandson ordered his usual "Chicken Fingers & Fries". I thought my hash browns tasted fishy but wasn't going to complain. My grandson said his chicken fingers tasted fishy. We opened one up and it was fish. You could see where it was descaled. Sent it back and wanted to leave for our hair appt. Specifically told them we did not want anything else. Sat and waited for our bill missing my appointment. Finally we got the bill with a new order of chicken fingers (no charge). My day was ruined. Sorry this review was late. My wife and I went here last Sunday because it was close and another diner we like closed at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. I ordered a cheeseburger with sweet potato fries. They gave me about eight french fries, smallest order of fries I've ever seen in my life at a diner. My wife decided to order the pot roast dinner special. The meat was OK. The mashed potatoes were very sad. She side a side of broccoli. It came with soup and salad and dessert. The chicken soup was very good. My wife did not like the salad bar. She hated the whole experience and was very adamant about it. I'm not as critical. The cheeseburger I had was on a seeded bun, it was ok, not much different than a McDonald's quarter pounder. I read another review that said the place needs updating, like renovations. The booth seat was like sitting in a crater, so they should start there. There was a friendly enough wait staff, the atmosphere was a very elderly clientele. They were doing brisk business, so people must be satisfied with most of the menu. The dessert we took home was an apple crumb pie, which was the best part of the entire meal. Unfortunately, there's a lot of competition out there so I don't really see a reason to come back. Driving home from The Shore we needed lunch and this place was perfect for a family. Nice kids menu with solid options including a kids salad. Service was kind and welcoming. Ambiance was homey and charming with a sweet emphasis on book decor. French onion soup was great. Highly recommend the New Orleans salad with hot, freshly grilled chicken. my wife's meal was not satisfactory the waitress asked if she would like anything else and my wife then ordered a sandwich. She did this because I was eating my diner and she didn't want me to wait FOR AN EXTRA MEAL. when we received our check I noticed her diner was charged in full. I went to pay the check to the owner who also came over and asked what she could do to make this right, and she did not lessen the bill. she said she was sorry, and I wasn't going to make a big issue out of this, so I paid the bill ,gave the waitress her due tip. we are regular customers, as we patron her diner 2 to 3 times a month, however I'm disappointed with her and sorry to say she lose us as a good customer . so disappointed. GREAT diner, done up like an old library with a diner flare maybe a bit tired, but clean and welcoming. We had a bit of everything, Chicken Gyro, Pancakes, Burger, and Shrimp & Scallops Every dish was excellent. Great service from an attentive waitress, fair prices. We passed 2 other diners close by as we made our way to the Parkway, but I'd come back to this one in a minute if I were in the area. What a great little throwback Jersey diner! The style brought me right back to my childhood in the 70's. Super nice people, neat, clean dining room, varied menu (over 100 omelettes!!), and good, strong coffee. Atmosphere: The Corner Post Diner is literally a corner restaurant in an outdoor shopping mall.  It's the corner...and the post. Unknowing to me, I went during their "roaring 20s" theme month. The inside was completely decorated.  I've been to restaurant themed nights before, and the Corner Post Diner did it well. Coffee: The coffee was decent.  It was hot, but I could have used more. Service: Our waiter was friendly but didn't come back for long periods.  We were left without drink refills for most of the time, and our food was a bit slower coming out.  The waiter was friendly though. Food: The Corner Post Diner has everything a diner has.  It has a huge list of breakfast options (including 150 omelet choices), lunch, and dinner.  Since I was getting over food poisoning, I opted to get something a bit less exciting. When they mentioned the soup of the day was split pea, I knew what I wanted.  I went with their soup and sandwich option.  The split pea was good and nice and hot (lukewarm soup is the worst). I ordered the half BLT which was good as well.  Everything was cooked well, and I had no complaints. On a side note, the Corner Post Diner menu was interesting.  It was a large wooden menu with jokes and LOL written in the posts.  How can I hate that? So we order from here several times per week to my place of business. The last time I ordered they wouldn't deliver because the bill was 1.50 short of their minimum. So I said you can add another 5 bucks on the card for the driver. But they still wouldn't deliver cause that 5 bucks was going to the driver and not to them. Way to take care of your loyal customers. And good looking out for your employees. Lost our business over a buck and a half. The food isn't even that good. Always cold. It's just convenient. read more

This is my second visit to the diner. I will start with the positive, service very friendly, nice decor 50's scene right now, with servers in poodle skirts. The food was okay, Omelettes overcooked, hollandaise for Benedict's processed, corned beef hash good. The major issue with the breakfast was my son's order, which was the breakfast burger with fried egg and bacon. It was served with melted cheese and my son does not eat cheese, The waitress did take it back and said she would bring a new order. All the kitchen did was scrape the cheese off and send it back to the table, This was totally unacceptable and unprofessional. I will never go back or recommend this establishment to anyone, The manager never came to the table to address the mistake but did tell me on the way out I will talk to the cook, really what will she say good try but it didn't work read more

There was maybe a tablespoon of hash and the rest was greasy potatoes covered in a large quantity of cheese. I ate the eggs and toast.
