Food was plentiful but lacked seasoning. Beef slices a bit dry, fries a bit soggy. Chicken was meh. Would pass on the platters and maybe try a soup next time.

I love coming here especially when I am hungry. Their portions are generous and the food delicious. The server was nice and attentive. They just added a bakery portion which unfortunately I was not able to try it since I was so so full but it was tempting. The ambiance is family friendly.

I ordered the red snapper in a coconut sauce with fried yucca and a salad.

Food was excellent. Very authentic and excellent service too. You walk into a mini Colombia. They have excellent bakery as well.

This is both the Caribbean platter and arroz con pollo we split our dishes to share. Both delicious.

OK, tonight we tried Mendoza's for the first time. It definitely will not be the last time. We loved it. We took it to go so my photo is a splitting two different dishes at home because we want to watch a movie so we eat at home tonight. Next time we will eat there. The food was fantastic particularly the fresh Empanadas. They have both beef and chicken and the hot sauce is fantastic to come with it. Everything is homemade and you could see it. We ordered Arroz con pollo, it was the first time I had ordered that in a Colombian restaurant. It was great, so different than the way I make it (Puerto Rican). it is served with yellow rice has peas and carrots and it's well seasoned, the chicken is shredded and mixed in. Delicious and very different. We also had a Caribbean platter that had steak, arroz Blanco, a delicious sausage and beans with avocado on the side. we also ordered fresh juices, one black raspberry (mora) and one guanabana. You can tell that they have a loyal following and that they care about the way they serve the food because it is all delicious and presented very nicely. They have gained another loyal customer.

Where is the chicken???? Never ordering from them ever again!

No pollo in the arrow con pollo. This was a huge disappointment for me. I was expecting some sort of poultry in my order.

We met another couple while dining out and the gentleman was born in Columbia but raised in Jersey, however he still visits his native country. His tip for us was to give Mendozas a visit if we are looking for authentic Columbian food including their empanadas. So we did just that last night and we're blown away by the taste and flavors of their cuisine. Every dish sampled was outstanding. The service and ambience were just okay but who cares, you go here for the food. See my attached pics and then put them on your bucket list..

Sancocho de costillas was good . Breaded chicken entree was generous. The buñuelos were so good. Coffee was okay and the Latin music was good just loud enough. The beautiful Colombian art on the walls was nice and so was the service. Outside there was a little outdoor socializing drinking but it wasn't disruptive. Sort of made me feel like I was in Cartagena Colombia where everyone sits in the front of their house to drink talk and dance. Kudos to the owners for bringing Colombian culture and food to this community. Pretty packed so pretty sure they are keeping their customers happy.

My husband and I went here after I kept seeing their ads on Instagram and it was incredible. We each had a calentado, but he got the chorizo. We both loved it and had leftovers. We tried the empanadas which were delicious too. We also got the Sancocho de costilla to go. It was amazing. The service was great and their tres leches cake was perfect.

Love at first sniff! Walked into the restaurant and everything smelled delicious. That with the display case of empanadas and breads made me 10x hungrier than when I was in the parking lot. Stuck to my plan of the stuffed arepas (chicken and avocado) with maduros. Delicious and gluten free. Just the right amoung of grilled char on the arepa and not too much cheese. I wasn't sure if the sauces were gluten free but they smelled amazing. I cant wait to come back.

First, I want to make it clear that the waitresses were wonderful -- attentive, kind, and hardworking. My issue is not with the staff, but with the way management handled the billing and gratuity situation. Both times, my bill should have been around $66, yet I was charged about $85 because gratuity had already been added. I didn't realize this at first and was also leaving an additional 20% tip on top of it. I feel this is misleading to customers, especially for such a small bill where automatic gratuity is uncommon. When I questioned it, the owner came out and explained the gratuity policy in a very confrontational and dismissive manner instead of handling the concern professionally. I tried to explain that either the servers are not receiving enough directly, or customers are unknowingly overpaying because the gratuity is not made clear enough. At the end, I adjusted my payment by removing the extra $17 tip I had intended to leave and kept the automatic gratuity charge of $12. I also placed an additional $5 cash tip in the envelope specifically for my waitress because she truly deserved it. What upset me even more was seeing the owner immediately take that cash and place it into the general tip box. Again, the servers were excellent. My disappointment is entirely with management's handling of customers and gratuities.

An employee, who appeared to be the manager on duty (as she was older and seemed to be overseeing the shift), attempted to kill the roach. When she grabbed it with a napkin, the roach fell onto the table. The employee then killed the roach and disinfected the table. However, this same employee had taken my order and continued handling service immediately after the incident. The food was served, but none of it was consumed due to the health concern. There was one other younger employee present, but they were not involved in the incident. Camera footage should confirm this event, as it would show the employee killing something on the wall during this time. Due to the seriousness of the situation, I also contacted the Health Department to report this incident.

I decided to give this one a try. I finally broke down and stopped in for lunch on Saturday March 8. The place wasn't crowded. It's a bit spacious but not many tables. My first thought was that it would be hard to get a table at dinner time. I was seated immediately and my order came right away. The server was very seeet and friendly and always checked on me. I ordered a paellita noches with black beans as well as tostones (fried green plantains) I received the paellita that came with maduros (fried sweet plantains). I ordered black beans but Instead I got red beans. I let it go. The paellita was good and a huge portion. I had to take half home. I didn't care for the red beans. They were a bit tasteless. The tostones were bland and a bit too greasy. I added salt and dipped them in the beans. (I'm PR and we add salt as soon as the fried plantains come out the fryer so that it sticks or serve it with mojo). Tostones do not taste good bland. I may go again and try some different items, skip the tostones and make sure that I get my black beans. I'll update this review depending on my experience when I return.
