So very behind in posting a review for Manderes. This is our go to place in Folsom and it's a weekly date night for my husband and I. They definitely live up to their mantra "No crap on tap." Love the selection of Beer on Tap here! No Crap on Tap! The Korean Bulgulgi as well as the Burgers are always good. Service has always been good, but a little distracted. I agree that the Dice Playing at the Bar can get loud at times, so can the volume in the place in general. But you can't beat the Beer selection!! read more

I just love Manderas. The food is excellent and portions are generous. They have the best cheddar broccoli soup I've ever had (no joke, you should order it). They usually have at least two amazing risotto dishes on the menu and great tuna as well. My only complaints about Manderas are that they do not take reservations (they say they take accommodations not reservations... but the accommodations are pretty meaningless) and that it is such a small space and always packed. This is one of my favorite spots in Folsom, I definitely recommend it. read more

Visiting my BFF and her hubby, we were escorted to several restaurants that they frequent. We enjoyed all of them, but Manderes was the one that I am wanting to go back to. Stopped in for lunch on a weekend, place was dead. However, the food was great and the service was excellent!! The location sucks... stuck in one of the many strip malls that now define Folsom. I want to LOVE this place because I'm a huge craft beer fan, and they always have exceptional, varied brews on tap. Some of the appetizers are good, like the Asian wings, but the can't seem to make a burger without overcooking it into shoe leather. I rarely send food back, but had to, and the replacement was just the same. Maybe a new cook or a bad night, but it turned me off. I used to be a regular at the first and second locations off Bidwell, but now I prefer to go to Sam Hornes on Sutter St. Amazing craft brews and the juiciest burgers and fries around. read more

Honestly, if you are not white and have some brown color in your skin DO NOT expect great service at this place.. shopping in Folsom wanted to eat somewhere with decent tasting food and boy was it a mistake to eat here. First the appetizers fries and calamari were not fresh and almost cold. I ordered a medium Angus burger and got a well done dry burger. The burger came with the same amount of fries that you get with the appetizer fries so don't waste your money. Again the service was not great at all, and the food was not worth it. read more

Manderes is our "go to" place in Folsom for dinner. All of the entrees are delicious but the ribs are simply out-of-this-world. Their prices are very reasonable for the excellent quality food and you get lots of it! My wife and I shared the ribs and a salad, and still had leftovers. You can bring a bottle of wine in and they don't charge corkage, either. They also occasionally have Pliny on tap -- what a treat that is! The service is great and atmosphere very nice. Stopped by on a rainy night and claimed the last two seats at the bar. Looks dubious from the outside, but inside there's an immediate good vibe. Friendly patrons, service very attentive and the owner knows how to be present. The food may be a little pricey, but the ingredients are premium and the portions big enough to share. We had the beef skewers and the corn chowder (with chunks of lobster) - both very tasty and we couldn't finish the plates. Fun beer selection and very decent wines. I loved this place back in the day when it was in the old Dairy Queen location - you know... back in the day when they had no competition. But now there are a number of craft brew taprooms in the area even another in Folsom. The food here is better that a lot of other craft brew places but what it is lacking is proper atmosphere. There are probably as many wine drinkers in there as there are beer drinkers on a weekend night. The place looks like they are trying to be a swanky nightclub or restaurant instead of a craft tap room located in a strip mall. Food is too fancy and is slightly overpriced. If you like good beer and a very good meal this is a great place but if the atmosphere just doesn't do it for me. read more

What a great addition to Folsom! Manderes is the place to be if you love good beer. I'm not talking about Blue Moon or Corona, you can get that down at Scarlets. If you're looking for the serious stuff, like a 9-10% ABV Allagash, you need to drink at Manderes. I think they have about 20 micro's on tap with many, many other choices to choose from bottled. Have a good time joking with Brent, the owner behind the bar and let him assist you in selecting other great beers to sample. Oh, and don't forget to eat, the menu rocks! Try the angus burger and fries or the jumbo shrimp cocktail. Either way, you'll be glad you stopped by. One of my favorite places to hang now. read more

An old friend suggested Manderes as a meeting place in lieu of BJ's (one of my favorite restaurants) for beer or two, and dinner. Wow, what a great suggestion. First of all, the beer selection is outstanding. I sampled 3 different brews that I have never heard of before, each one to my delight. I like a malty blend. I had a hamburger to accompany my brew and again, wow. The bun was the freshest and most unique bread I have ever had! How often does someone rave about a bun? Last but not least, was the outstanding service. The waitress was very helpful in suggesting beers to my liking. Of course, there are so many choices, she even helped me decide by offering samples. We came here for take-out, so now I can comment on the food. The chinese chicken salad was amazing- I don't knw what they glaze the chicken with but it was yummy. The steak salad was very tasty, a bit overcooked, but tender and flavorful. Also, I wish they would have sliced the steak a bit thinner and/or into bite sized pieces. My babe came from San Fran to visit me and read about the selection of beers this bar had. He read somewhere that it was the best place for beers in Folsom, which he is a definite IPA connoisseur. We had some fish taco appetizers that were very tasty but really messy. Customer service was really great, lots of TVs showing the Olympics at the time which was nice. He wasn't that impressed by the beer selection but everything was good and a nice atmosphere. Wouldn't go out of my way to go again but the experience was great. read more

Used to go here a couple years ago when my buddy lived in Folsom and loved it. Went last week with my wife and probably will not be back. The food was incredibly salty, the service was very slow, and overall it just wasn't a good meal. I gave it 3 stars because of how good I remember it being and it's very possible it was just an off night. There were regulars sitting at the table next to us though and they stated that the over salting of food is not new, so I don't know. read more

Good God! This place is amazing. The beer selection alone is well worth a trip...even if you need to drive out of the way. Do it. Putting the beer selection aside, the food was surprisingly gourmet. Honestly some of the best food I have ever eaten and it was served at what resembled a bar. I suggest going with a group and passing around your plates, you will want to try everything on the menu. The service was also out of this world. We felt like we were walking into a friends house (and we had at least 15 people with us...not always a welcome guest in a small establishment). Manderes is pricy but I think it's justified. Another thing to note is that Yelp lists this as not kid friendly but we went at lunch time and brought with us a 3 year old and a 2 year old. They were treated amazing. It was my 2 year olds birthday and she was treated to a huge slice of ridiculously decadent chocolate cake on the house. I would say as long as you don't bring your kids at happy hour or after hours kids are very welcome. Well Done Manderes, we will return as often as we can. read more

My girl and I love belgian beer so while visiting the area we read the reviews and figured we'd try this place out. And here it is... The cooler broke and all the beers were warm and you could only get bottled beers since the taps were bad. This wasn't their fault though so I can't be too critical of this. What I can be critical of is that when they brought out our bottles they were only slightly cool and so I asked the manager if they could keep them on ice for us. All well and good but they kept forgetting about the bottles and never refilled our glasses. Not once. The service was horrible. The waitress kept forgetting about us and I had to walk up to her while she was just talking to someone at the bar and ask for the rest of my food that she forgot to bring out. It got so bad that I had to cancel part of my order because she forgot it and brought out the wrong thing, then the correction took forever to get done. Now for the food. I had the burger which was suppose to be one of their best dishes and it wasn't good at all. It was over cooked, not tasty and the fries were soggy. Not one of the other three people at my table were happy about their food either. All in all, I was really excited about trying this place but it was a total and complete let down. I found Manderes when I was looking for a sports bar in the area and based a Yelp review thought I would try it. Manderes should be classified as a restaurant because the food is outstanding! The staff was friendly and the service was very good. The beer selection is also top notch with beers on tap that you will not find in other bars and a bottle selection that can't be beat. There are a few TV's above the bar with your favorite game and viewable from most the tables. If you're planning on a Friday or Saturday night visit you better make a reservation or expect a forty-five minute wait after 5:00pm. If Manderes had more seating I would easily give a 5+ star rating. read more

This was the best dinner I have had in a long time. We walked in and were seated right away even though they were busy, the busser was very kind. I ordered the steak Alfredo and our waitress, Kelsey, was phenomenal and explained how they cooked their meat (what exactly medium meant) which no other restaurant has done, the pasta was perfectly cooked. My boyfriend got the burger which was presented wonderfully and tasted just as good. it was a busy hectic night but that did not stop Kelsey from giving one of the best customer service experiences I have had. My dinner, rib eye steak, was way over cooked and it was so salty I could hardly eat it. Others in my party thought their meals were ok. Service left a lot to be desired. The waitress rarely came by the table. We had to ask for bread, did not get refills on water, were never asked if we wanted another beer, and argued with me on how to split the bill between to forms of payment.
